Guest Reviews
- Jennifer (2/5): - They tried saying my travel agent cancelled my pre paid reservation. My agent tried calling for two hours and refused to answer the phone. They finally gave me a small room even though I paid for the largest room. There food was cold. Eggs were the only breakfast food. The TV didnt work. The frig didnt work. The slider didnt shut properly which allowed bugs inside. Deeply disapointed. The whole country is so dirty. Averge day in traffic was 5-6 hours. This hotel has rats in the trees.
- Kimberly (2/5): - Do NOT BOOK!!! This hotel has bed bugs and ginormous RATS!! we were sitting in the dinning area waiting for them to give us a new room due to the amount of mold that was in our current room. While waiting in the downstairs dining area 2 Big RATS came from under the furniture. We ran out and immediately checked out. Do not book this hotel. Another guest that was there told us she had saw a RAT by the pool and they did nothing.
- Louise (2/5): - So disappointing
Really waant happy. That much i lwft the same day i checked in. Never again. Decieved by the photos
- Tracey (6/5): - Loved the purple 💜
- KANWLJEET (6/5): - I guess what you pay for is what you get.
The property photos on expedia are stunning but are probably years old. The hotel is in disrepair. The floor boards are cracked in some places. The curtains have mold. The room floor plan is a bit funny.
The AC works well.. did take a while to cool us when we first got there but the cleaning staff always left it on for us so when we got back for the 2nd night the room was already cold. You need that in the Bali heat.
There are lots of bus tours that stay there overnight so first thing in the morning is a scramble for breakfast! Chaos all around... not a whole lot of selection either
The pool and the surrounding area were dirty so we avoided it... The spa was not operational even though the name has the word "Spa" in it.
Overall its an average hotel and good if you are going to be away all day and only back for a good sleep at night... don't expect to use a lot of the resort facilities.. you'll be disappointed
- Grace Carly (10/5): - Really enjoyed staying here. Staff were lovely very helpful and always with a smile. Pool was clean and perfect temperature. Breakfast was delicious huge selection. Will definitely stay here again
- Edyne (2/5): - The property is nothing like they share online, the rooms are broken down, the room floor falling apart, room full with mosquitoes, could not sleep properly with mosquitoes noise, toilets not flushing properly, manage do not check any room before welcoming any guests ,if you accidentally brake something in the room they want charge arm and leg, the staff following at the lobby to remind you to pay for the items, when you still staying at the hotel, overall Zero customer services, I do nor recommend anyone to stay at this hotel, unless you just going for the pool and the Gym.
- Jessica (2/5): - Unfortunately the pictures do not match the current state of the property. It is very run down, rooms were smelly, mouldy and there was broken mirrors, fridge and aircon not working. We were supposed to stay another two nights but ended up checking in elsewhere due to the condition of the property. It needs some tlc and we hope this place will improve one day.
- Alicia (8/5): - It was a really nice hotel with friendly staff and comfortable beds. And I loved the pool. Food was nice.
I only have one complaint I ordered a Margherita pizza the other day and when I ate it, it had so much hot sauce/spice and couldn't really eat it and Margherita is tomato sauce not got sauce.
But apart from that everything was great and you were all very helpful and kind.
- michael (4/5): - The shower door didn't open fully. Had to walk in sideways and we are not big people.
The does to the balcony even when locked you could still open them.
The shower flow was very poor.
Needs updating.
Won't be staying there again
- Eden Keith (2/5): - The cleaner was great and some other staff. The staff in charge during our check in and check out date are scammers.
They charged us 90000 IR from 7-2 as we arrived early. I already communicated to them that I want to extend as instead of checking out @ 2 we will check out @ 6 pm. The hotel manager was so rude and asked us to pay 200000 IR hourly from 12 pm to 6 pm.
Also, the bathrooms were blocked.
We originally booked in seminyak but was given accomodation in Kuta.
I lost some of my valuables as they make us do a rush packing and I don’t even know wherey stuffs are.
They are so poor in communication, even the manager was not fluent in English and was extremely rude.
The manager was an old guy. He waa the oldest amongst all the employees on duty on the 5th of May 2024.
- MARILYN (10/5): - Loved the staff. Very cheerful, Kind, Helpful & accomodating.
- Chester Jun Xian (2/5): - Honest review. Shocking and disappointed.
Hotel lobby had no lights nor air con on, it gave an unwelcoming vibe. Was first given a room at lv 4. Went in and immediately shocked to see big patches of the room walls having mould. The light switch beside the door was covered with brown liquid we rly had no idea what that was. How could the housekeeping missed that? Called reception and asked for a room change and they brought us to a room at lv 1.
This lv 1 room had no visible mould as it was covered with wallpapers but there was a perpetual stench of sweat smell. The bedsheets had stains on it so called them and they brought in another 4 pillow case. Upon inspection there were still stains and I realise they really inventory and property management issues even though staff were trying their best to provide the best service. Toilet walls and floor tiles were cracked and you could see all the mould within the cracks due to the humidity in the bathroom.
Morning breakfast buffet was atrocious. Chicken seemed to be from the dinner yesterday and reheated, dry as hell. Flies were everywhere on each section (bread, fruits), so pls avoid them. The bowls and plates had stains and broken chips around that no one cared about and still placed there for your taking. It was really an eye-opener how they can name themselves 4-star.
Although the property and inventory were poorly maintained, staff were friendly, greeted us, and were helpful.
I would not come back again.
- Brock (2/5): - The place really needs a face lift, the floor was all warped, the shower door couldnt open all the way, it stank like mold and was hard to breath in , there was a cockroach and heaps of ants and the aircon only just worked when you were in the room. The staff where useless when we ask to swap rooms or get a refund
- Rachael (8/5): - Staff were friendly and efficient, The room was clean but had the stench of cigarettes ,wifi worked well ,The pool was lovely clean well maintained and the buffet breakfast was exceptional if you like Asian cuisine, The busy highway made it hard to ctoss the road to the shopping centre which was very convenient,
- Lauren (2/5): - Rooms are very old and not like the photos. Linen smelled like old body odor. Room smelled like mould. We were on 4th floor but sounded like we were sitting right near the pool. Being woken up at 5am by screaming people in the pool was not good. Left the hotel and went elsewhere for the duration of our stay.
- Lauren (2/5): - Property is in need of a facelift. Photos online are very old. Was woken up at 5am by screaming people in the pool. Sounded like you were poolside even though on level 4. Room smelled, pillow smelled. Staff were friendly and food was nice. Checked out after a day and went elsewhere.
- Yohanes (2/5): - The room full with 🐜 ants. And other kind insect, fly over around inside the room. Touch our food. Fungi growing on bathroom. Needs spraying the rolm for pest control.
- Nicole (2/5): - The room was un liveable. Extremely unhygienic. Mouldy, cockroaches spiders, holes in the walls, wires hanging out. We moved to another hotel after having to stay 1 night does to coming in late. Never experienced this in bali ever before.
- Jovie (4/5): - Noisy, property need renovation and improvement
- Jeff (10/5): Puts your girl in the mood - The room was bigger then expected, the guest service staff was highly accommodating and helpful. The pool was a fun experience. Happy to stay here again
- Janine (6/5): - Hotel needs a bit love and care, outside areas good, room can use maintenance. Reception staff could be more helpful
- Angelly (2/5): - Breakfast was decent, that’s literally the only thing good about this place. I stayed here 2x in 2018 then 2019, same price, and it was so great, pool was great, rooms were actually clean, you just paid for the price and I was very satisfied. Thought I’d go back again after having great experiences in the past and I was very disappointed. The room actually smelt like old swimming pool water, we found a cockroach on the floor the 2nd day, the bed was rock hard, there was this small cushion couch in the bathroom which had all sorts of stains on it, the shower water was insanely hot sometimes even when it was supposed to be just warm, the mirrors were cracked, the bathroom door always had so much water coming out if it because the shower would get overfilled. It just seems like there was no maintenance at all over the last few years which is a shame.
- Manjit Singh (8/5): - Food was stale and dogs barking all nite couldn’t sleep
- Charlotte (2/5): - Disgusting. Mould and damp everywhere and it smelt awful made all of our clothes smell damp, the smell made me feel sick. Wouldn't recommend this place to my enemy!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not what we hoped for - We were hoping to enjoy a swim; a drink & a massage, on the last few days of our holiday. Grand Mega Resort wasn't what we wanted.
I didn't research enough that the bypass wasn't very accessible on foot. The high chlorine levels meant the pool wasn't enjoyable. The bar was inactive. The room & balcony were stifling hot because they're covered in metal & glass.
The reception area was nice & the check-in person relatively pleasant. Overall, it was ok but wouldn't recommend it for guests wanting what we did
- peter (8/5): - place was nice but room needs some attention
- Dwi Hartadi (6/5): - Not good
- Brenda K (8/5): Good hotel but could use some fixes - We only stayed one night so others may have better input. The room was nice but it had been used hard and some of the mirrored surfaces were cracked and the shower didn’t drain so the water ran the whole length of the bathroom. The pool was nice and breakfast was good.
- chiraag (2/5): - Worst hotel ever definitely not a 4 star
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was pretty run down, the breakfast was good. They mention hotel transfers but they don’t actually offer them
- Wayne (2/5): - This is NOT a grand mega resort. It is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stepped foot in. We complained about the cleanliness of our first rooms, we had two. We could smell the damp as soon as the door opened. The second room we were given was not much better, blood on one pillow, brown stains on another. The toilet seat was another experience. Hopefully I can upload pictures. We left after being offered a third room and were told the rooms were non refundable. A very expensive mistake for the hotel management to make. This is the dirtiest hotel I have ever been to. We looked at the pool, I would not even let my dog swim in it. Do not book this hotel - go somewhere else!!!
- Jadia (4/5): - I had high hopes for this place when looking at the pictures and reviews. Upon first glance my room looked gorgeous until I got into my bed and I realized it smelled like urine. There was also a brown stain on the wall next to the garbage. While I was there for four days I saw a few cockroaches as well. I tried to talk to someone to get a different room but they said they had cleaners to come in but they never came throughout the 4 days. Every time I left the hotel I would let them know so I could come back to a clean room. The food here was also not that great. Poor selection and didn’t taste great.
I have picture proof of the cockroach’s, the gross stain on the wall, and how dirty the one bench was in that room.
Please do not stay here if you value cleanliness and being safe.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly staff and good breakfast in the morning. awesome pool
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Was ok
Won't be going back
Amenities need an upgrade.
- Sohail (8/5): - Everything was fabulous.
- michele (8/5): - Average hotel with poor service at breakfast.
- Andre (10/5): - Staff ready to help you, everyone in a good mood. Everyone is like in the pictures... the room could be a bit cleaner (smell-wise). Structure wise is beautiful. Also, great breakfast: eggs and pancakes made in real-time, in front of your eyes. Can't complain. Delivers what it promises.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Such a horrible hotel to stay 😡 - They gave us a room which was dirty. The bed sheet had spot the workers there was not supportive at all. The buffet food option and quality was very poor. The condition of the room does not worth the money we paid
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disappointed of room - Room needs to renovate, and smells are not really comfortable for us. Also the water taste is little bit salty.
- Grace (8/5): - It was a nice please the beds are really really hard but value for money wise it’s not bad at all
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Grand Mega Resort looks fantastic in the pictures but they were obviously taken a LONG time ago. The property and rooms were in poor condition and is desperate need of fixing. The room we originally were put in had a bed that felt like sleeping on concrete, a balcony door that wouldn’t close properly, a broken mini bar and an aircon that didn’t work. The staff were however helpful and upgraded our room for the next two nights. The room service was pretty good and the pool bar and cocktails were refreshing. For the price I’m sure there are better options but if you do stay here make sure it’s in the suite.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Swimming pool was great
Room was spacious despite not having drawer or cupboard for clothes or luggage
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Im not fond of the breakfast (chicken bacon is awful) but the staff were all amazing and it was a lovely room for my short stay. Definitely happy with their pool and the staff who serve at the swim up bar.
- Thein (6/5): - Don't like customer service.
They argued with customers.
As they want deposit in local currency cash. I explained that if I pay in local currency, can't use that money and will go straight to airport and will waste that money.
I prefer credit card and online website stated as credit card acceptable. They argued and even didn't say any apology word.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Terrible customer service. Terrible just terrible
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It’s lovely and I really like the room style....
all the staff very friendly...
- Saadiqa (2/5): - There was no wifi in the room. Spoke to front desk and they said they would send someone to me- they never did. The sheets were old and stained. Outside my sliding door was an old fan and some other junk. The room was loud with noise from the street. Generally uncomfortable and unpleasant.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Wasn’t happy with the room location and view........
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Near the mall and airport. Accessible to transport
- Jackie (2/5): - This hotel is definitely not for Americans if you are American and considering staying at this hotel you should not there were holes in the walls The shower didn’t work well the hotel room was dirty very small the hotel does not provide towels when we asked for towels they said they don’t have any today and when we did actually get towels they smelled like they were just sprayed with air freshener
- Rita (8/5): - Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Staff were friendly & obliging. Just that the cafe need to perk up a bit more on the cleaniness where some stains & cracks were found in the plates & cups. Overall, it was a short pleasant stay.
- Jack (2/5): Bad experience - Absolute bad experince rooms
Aircons smell in room
Really chance a lot in 2 years.
Will not book again there
- Verified traveler (4/5): - i didnt like the way everything looked old and damaged
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Always friendly, excellent facilities. I always stay here when in Bali
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I like this hotel each trip we stay there 3/4 days as it’s easy access to the airport.bali galleria is straight across the road
If you need anything I need scales I forgot to take mine with me Ace hardware . Movies shops last minute buying easy check, in pool.beautiful .
- Asif (6/5): Average hotel with some problems - The hotel was average... pool was good... in breakfast buffet flies were sitting on everything...they need to cover their food...gym was good but one machine was broken and was not fixed for 3 days we stayed thr....Staff should be more friendly and welcoming... Overall it was a decent hotel....
- Joanne (8/5): - The spacious rooms that I had was a delight, didn’t make you feel like you where in a shoe box. The room service everyday was greatly appreciated
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Purple theme
- Henry (10/5): Good for Nyepi - If you want a hotel just for the food, here's the place. The breakfast and dinner buffet was really really good for its low price.
The room was alright at best, sometimes the water is salty and the rooms need maintenance.
- Tianna-Mae (4/5): Good for backpackers - I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It was old, dark and falling apart. Everything was purple and smelled like a mixture of eucalyptus and really old chemicals.
It is definitely not a nice hotel to relax at. The price is the only thing that was ok, but that’s not including the food.
The food and drinks were way too pricey for that type of place.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel itself needs a total upgrade,, the room was dirty, sheets, broken mirrors, bedside draw broken
- Amoldeep (8/5): Value for money - Value for money... nice breakfast
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It is nice hotel and located at a central position. But it is old. The wear and tear is visible. I liked the very big bathroom but it does not have any ironing facility.
- Dave (8/5): - Hot water system slow
Swimming pool too strong with chlorine
- Rik (10/5): - Stayed 10 days, initially disappointed with room based on expectations as it shows signs of wear and tear not obvious in photos. Once settled in, found it quite pleasant and good value for money. Staff were very pleasant, most speak English well. Good drivers available nearby to assist with tours etc.
Main road in front of hotel can be quite daunting and not easily crossed during peak traffic
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was amazing and friendly. When I asked for a room change it was done without a rate change and immediately. I did have an issue with bugs in the bed. The staff sprayed several times but I was covered with bites by the time I left. Also, the pool is not accessible for people who may have any knee issues. The stairs are very steep into the pool and I hurt myself badly going in. I love to swim and was disappointed by this because I did not use the pool afterwards. Adding a hand rail to assist people into the pool would help a lot.
- Sha (10/5): - Nice hotel with big bathroom.
- Albertina (4/5): - I went to this hotel 4 years ago. The room was perfect and the cleanliness was excellent. I decided to booked this hotel again and expected to have the same experiences. However, everything has been changed. Room wasn’t a good condition, shower and toilet abit smelled and the most important is the water was salty. Other that location still perfect.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - There were no tour guide pamphlets. No proper advice on what to see and what not to see. A lot of flies and cockroaches during breakfast.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It’s a “ get what you pay for “ kind of hotel . The staff were nice . But the first room we had , there was a funky smell in the room , the bed was hard and the mirrors were all cracked . The first night in that room we got bitten by bugs in the actual bed ! The next day we asked for a room transfer which they gave to us which was a lot nicer ! It was definitely what we were expecting . The beds are just super hard
- T (8/5): - It was really really really really really really cool.
- Shaun (4/5): Not a great hotel. Close to hospital though - The only reason we stayed here was for the proximity to the BIMC hospital as we had someone staying there. The hotel though is not great. The first room we stayed in was horrible. As you walked you were greeted with the overwelming smell of mold. It was all over the showerhead, in the walls, ceilngs...not great. We moved to another room which less bad but still not good. Still the same mold smell but just a little less of it. We paid for a week but only stayed 3 days as we couldnt handle any more. This said the proximity to the hospital was convinient however there would be better places to stay for minimal amounts in a taxi
- Geoff (2/5): Disgusting - Checked in 1am on 13/10 and checked out the same morning due to room being absolutely disgraceful ie dirty bedding including blood stain on mattress cover, mould and dirt in shower, dirty walls, door, floors and bar fridge and safe that wasn’t even secured.
How Expedia can rate this hotel as 4 Star is beyond belief
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good and bad - Location wise I think it’s pretty good. There’s convinience store next to the hotel and mall just across the street. You can ask the security to help you cross. The pool bar in the hotel is nice and spa.
We were just a bit disappointed with the bed sheets because it looks like it was used, it has stains. The next day I thought they will replace it with the new one, but they didn’t. They changed the sheets on the third day of our stay instead. The toilet seats looks bad because of the stains. The shower hose keeps breaking, And the water in the shower room gets really cold or super hot.
- Lisa (6/5): - The hotel was in a very busy area. It took quite some time to cross the busy roads and that wasn’t ideal for children.
Clean enough, but needing repairs.
The towels were heavily perfumed and gave me constant headaches
- Hassan (6/5): - The room was beautiful and the pool looks pretty nice but I had problems with the air condition
- Michael (8/5): - Hotel staff very nice and food decent. Located just outside central Kuta.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel looks a bit run down, needs to be refurbished ASAP, the room which I stayed in also needs to be refurbished, as a lot of the furnitures are worn out, shower glass door needs repair or replacement, as it is not able to shut properly and seems that is will drop off any moment..
Breakfast selections can be improved..
Location is good....
- julie (2/5): To busy traffic - Not what I expected but stuff was good food ok ,Noice from traffic room was smelly,
- Christelle (10/5): - Nice hotel, friendly staff. The only problem was no iron in the room and sometimes had to be late as it seems they are being shared by all guests in the hotel. But would highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It is what it is, average hotel, good for price cannot complain
- Verified traveler (2/5): Poor location - I got the hotel and was put in two single rooms when I was with my family off 4.
I got to my room which was st 3am and found that there was a hole in the balcony that my child could easily fall through and I was on the 3rd floor.
I packed all my things up and moved to a new hotel can some please call me as I would like my money back
- James H. (10/5): Very nice accommodation, especially for the price - Rooms are fabulous...very well designed, so it made the small rooms feel much nicer. Very well designed. Staff was great, wonderful people. Only area for improvement would be their spa...not well run, overpriced massages that were not well performed. It had a Jacuzzi, but it was broken down. I think this spa is actually not run by the hotel, but is leased out. But still it's part of the hotel as far as guests are concerned.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Everything feels shit - From the start, i requested for early check in, not early as in 6am, but at least at 12pm-1pm, that one also cant give. Afterwhich after gotten my keys to the room , taking a bath , which the water feel so salty so so salty & also there is no towel & we need to ask from the reception itself. The balcony looks so dusty
- Tammy (8/5): Enjoyable Stay - Staff are amazing, very helpful and friendly. Food was great for breakfast and pool area was enjoyable. Cleanliness is good. Room is a little worn down here and there, but didn't annoy us. Very close to Mal Galleria and the transport are excellent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel with poolbar - Nice hotel with medium budget people.can easly access the mal Galeria bali.just in front of the hotel
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We arrived to a room with a disgustingly dirty toilet base covered in dried vomit. The bed was uncomfortable and hard. The hotel staff were reasonably friendly, but did not go out of their way for customers. The pool bar was unattended for long periods of time, and we waited for towels while being in the pool for 45 minutes.
- Janne (8/5): Good value for money - Stayed here for 4 nights. It was nice. The bathroom design was special. Breakfast decent, good spa. The ceiling was leaking in one spot in the bathroom and several parts in the lobby. Our room’s electric lock didn’t work very well. Had to ask for help a few times to get inside the room. Staff was very helpful. Staff also helped us get rid of the mosquitos in the room. Pool area was great and the ala carte food in the restaurant was great. Other side of the busy street is a big mall, where you can spend hours.
- Chad (2/5): - Air-con not working, no safety box, no hot water, no towels, dirty bed sheets,
Checked in and then checked out 4 hours later, spoke to reception and he didn't seem worried. Told me to write down my issues on a piece of cardboard.
Wouldn't recommend, and won't be back that's for sure!
- Vic (6/5): - Hotel staff was just ok pool bar beer was hot ask to put on ice staff said they don't do that so I drank other hotel they put taxes and service charges on all food and drinks see lot people ordered KFC or Dominios
- Ali (2/5): Bad experience - Not clean, bad smell, not recommend to anybody. You can't access to room service and staff at nights.not good for families you might hear loud screaming of ladies at nights because reception calls lady for passengers.
- Dk1ri (8/5): - Easy access location any where around. Breakfast could have more better choices and taste.
- Aminah (10/5): good buffet, beautiful room - Staff made this special, the room was exciting and beautiful, the pool was excellent, the gym was good, lots of local street carts if you walk around the neighbourhood, like a meal for $1 AUD.
This hotel stay was far better than a more expensive one on Jalan Legian.
Thank you, Grand Mega! This was our favourite hotel and AMAZING value for the price. Recommending to friends from now on.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay hotel - Hotel rooms need an upgrade. Pool area good. Breakfast okay. Staff unfriendly no greetings or conversations. Reception staff the nicest. Had to.pay for Ice Bucket
- Renee (10/5): Location quite clean pool massage-centre - Good location, out of city so we can have peaceful moments staying in hotel, enjoy the breaky and pools, but also walkable distance back home. A dutyfree mall and cinema mall just across street, can get everything you want, event a nice money exchanger!
- J (8/5): place was pretty good! - Room was spacious and comfortable. toilet was big as well with a tub!
- bruce (10/5): Beautiful stay - We have stayed here before and have never had any issues, since our last stay they have added balconies, which is a great added bonus. The breakfast is buffet and amazing even includes ice cream 😋 the rooms are lovely and clean. Would stay again.
- chelsea (4/5): Ehhh... Don't waste your time - Staff were lovely. However, we paid for certain things and we weren't able to have them. Supposed to include breakfast every morning but was excluded and paid for 20% off food and beverages for our entire stay - which excluded breakfast and alcohol. This wouldn't be an issue if it was stated somewhere on the website or when purchasing. Staff of the resort couldn't show me in writing where it said it excluded breakfast and alclhol - which was a huge reason we selected this resort. Rooms were average but comfortable and hotel staff were friendly. Just disappointing not getting what we paid for. Nice resort to stay in for a night or two, but for 7 nights it was a waste of money. Would only recommend for a few nights.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It is a nice hotel, it does need something me updates as there is a lot of wear and tear in the rooms/facilities.
