Guest Reviews
- Adrian (2/5): Worst experience! - I haven't received the email with the key code yet. When I managed to reach the responsible person, they sounded frustrated on the phone, as if it was my fault they hadn't fulfilled their responsibilities properly The advertisement was ambiguous, and I wasn't aware that the bathroom was separate. Additionally, the room wasn't clean, and the towels provided were dirty, so I had to get my own. The heating wasn't functioning, and it was uncomfortably cold. I had to sleep with a hoodie, but I was still cold.
- Ellen (4/5): Its ok - Lee seemed nice that owned or run it but we never meet him just talked on the phone and was willing to let us stay a few hours over check out time for free which was nice of him
But the shower head was really dirty it was that bad the water only come out of half of it the hole bathroom wasnt that cleane too and there was half of loo roll oh and not hot water it did warm up for about 10 minutes so we didnt shower all weekend just washed in the sink cos that had hat water
The bedroom when you walked in looked ok but not worth the money as its dated and there was a bigs water or damp patch on the ceiling it was a a lot of money for what it is
- Stuart (10/5): - Value for money, in these days of ever increasing costs (particularly hotel stays, whilst working away from home) was great. I’ve paid similar prices and regretted it. This place was perfect. Love the self check-in too. Many thanks.
- Paul (8/5): Good little budget hotel - Started very bad - big mix up as there was NO key in my little keysafe, and the man on phone even thought I'd took it out myself!!!
A 30 min wait was then had, hanging around for another man to bring the key. A farce which could have been avoided!!! But when he arrived, he was great and sorted me out asap.
BUT once I was in my room, I was satisfied. Man had come from miles away - respect! Room was big and large, comfy bed. But room smelled of smoke. Not good. No teabags in the room either and no milk. Coffee cream was around a year old? The little things count!!! And such a simple thing to fix too...
Finally, great shower but shower head needs a good clean. Another simple thing to fix. However, for the cost of this hotel, I was pleased. Cafe next door lovely too. A map to find car park is needed. Almost impossible to find on your own!!!
Here is my benchmark - would I stay again? The answer is YES... as despite the above i was very happy with my room, cost and service!
- Gemma (4/5): - No heating in the bedroom, the carpet hasn’t been vacuumed, hot tap broken.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Fairly terrible place to stay - Not too bad apart from ,Outdated decor, one plug socket in whole room , tv not working, out of date milk sachets, tea mug and spoon not washed or changed during 2 night stay, noisy inconsiderate guest shouting in next room and leaving extractor fan on in bathroom humming really loudly , had to pull bed to opposite wall to get any sleep, fire doors with really over strong springs that slammed everywhere anyone went and a guest who arrived after long flight in the evening was left to sleep in the lobby by the manager , but location was quiet and near sea front so that was one good point ?
- Carl (10/5): - nice friendly place, close to the beach, pubs and restaurants very close
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very disappointed at the lack of contact from this place. No one to check us in. Had to rely on a neighbour to help us find where to get our keys. Which was from a shack on a street. Where we were handed a bag of ‘breakfast’ which included a can of tango!
Contacted the owner with no response. Wanting a full refund.
- Sue (6/5): Disappointed - Not as good as last time I stayed Shower didn't work properly and bath plug was nowhere to be seen (shower over the bath).
Breakfast was very poor little choice not helped by Chef bringing out roasted beef which smelt delish but no cooked breakfast available.
- Lindsay (4/5): Very cold hotel! - It was January & the heating wasn’t on!
- Peter (10/5): Great budget hotel and near northeast attractions. - Stayed on a Saturday night and was lovely hotel in old building with rustic charm but modern facilities. Lee the owner made us feel very welcome. Comfy bed, nice shared bathroom and plenty to eat for continental breakfast included. Great stay on way up to lindisfarne.
- Joanne Alice (8/5): loved to have seen the owner - Nice contractors bed and breakfast but never saw the owner at all during my stay
The nice owner of the Trinity coffee shop contacted the owner to help my get into my room and helped me with my case
The next door neighbours a church and two minutes from the sea front
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disappointing - I booked the hotel but when I arrive they said there were no rooms at that hotel because the maid didn't come. They told me to drive to another town and stay in their other hotel. As a result, I didn't get my break by the seaside. I was disappointed.
- J (8/5): Well located in Seaton Carew - Good quiet location near church and comfortable bed room 7 at top .Bathroom clean but very noisy extractor fan . Incorrect wifi password in guest manual rather annoying .
If having breakfast after 8am suggest go to tea room next door for extra £5 .
- Sue (8/5): Out of season - Few things not right but all due to being out of season but did get an upgrade so swings and roundabouts; tip though make sure you pack a working phone charger I paid £15 for a cable!!!!
Hope to go back in the summer
- Verified traveler (2/5): Couldn't even check in - Booked via Hotels.com late evening. Took booking and payment however I couldn't access the venue to check in. No contact or refund from venue. Disgusting to allow my booking to be taken if access is unavailable single woman on own stranded outside without a room!!
- Christian (6/5): - Nettes Guesthouse in toller Lage.
- Joe (8/5): So so - Good hosts, cooked breakfast only served between 6 and 7 am not a good idea.
- john (8/5): Hotel value for money - Had a nice stay in hotel very clean and tidy nice breakfast but was only warm but otherwise excellent value for money
- Joan (6/5): Would stay again - Not the guest houses fault but I did expect a bathroom in my room. Hotels.com description of part open bathroom, means only a hand basin. The room was clean bed reasonably comfy. Skylight into room though let light in from the passage which was on all night. Shared bathroom was large and clean but no plug in the handbasin there, nor in the one in my room. Free WiFi worked fine. Friendly lady made a nice freshly cooked full english breakfast, Would have been good to know they actually do have some parking available as parking outside is permit only.
- harrington (2/5): terrible stay - , shower in room not working, no intentions of getting it fixed. Breakfast room looked like a bomb site from contractors and no member of staff to help with breakfast. Could not find any clean cutlery or cups. We Moved rooms but ended up using communal facilities Not something you want to do when your in your 80's. Terrible experience and will not be staying here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable stay - good sized comfortable room and a most pleasant guy checked me in.
3 quite minor gripes....
- the room didn't have a mirror to shave.
- there was no tv remote
- cleaner needs to check more - room perfectly clean but there was a empty salad dressing bottle in bedside drawer and an old t-shirt in bottom or wardrobe.
None of these factors would deter me for recommending.
btw there is no hot breakfast available
- Verified traveler (8/5): - it was over the holidays so no one about. but nice b/b. enjoyed my stay. will go again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Needs improvements - The room was large and the bed comfortable. The rooms were being refurbished while I was there so there was a little disruption.
- Nanette (6/5): Good location - Saw a staff member at check in but no one else in 3 days. No breakfast, no lounge, no laundry - no help - no room clean/ restock of teabags, etc- out of date information brochures - picked our own up. lovely room and area. Close proximity to beach front and cafes. Lots of history. Wonderful Enhlish tea shop close by.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Could do a lot better - Not a very good telephone manor. On arrival rang door bell, in time the door was open "ye what do you want"me I've booked a room" Man"ho your in 1" Handed me the Key, upstairs on the right Pointed from the bottom of the stairs that the toilet. Never saw anyone for the rest of my stay. It is Called Trinity House B&B, So I was expecting some sort of breakfast? Walk down stairs to go and get Evening Meal local, I saw a Sign "No Breakfast from 11th May 20??
- Keith (2/5): Hotel more suited to contractors than tourists - Checking in was the only time I saw the manager, with a power station not far away I think the hotel catered mainly for contractors. The hotel was basic and clean, and although I booked it as a b&b, was informed on arrival that they stopped doing breakfasts a month after my booking, I was told by Hotels.com to eat out and get receipts, which I have done. Having been a contractor myself I am sure that they would have got it at a cheaper rate than I did.
- George (2/5): Not a Good Stay by any means - I arrived at the B&B the room I was allocated had not been cleaned. They moved me to another room. The shower wasn't working the whole 3 days. I told the manager the 2nd day.
On the second day 8 went down for Breakfast and there wasn't any available(This place is Called Trinity House Bed and Breakfast so why no breakfast? I would have stayed somewhere else but had already paid through Hotels.com. I think this place should be taken of your website as they are obviously advertising as a Bed and Breakfast and not doing this.
- Keith (6/5): A clean and friendly hotel - These ratings do not apply to the Trinity House B & B, but to the 'New' York Hotel to where we were redirected by the owners due to refurbishment.
We found the 'New' York to be clean and comfortable and the staff friendly. The transfer was ostensibly an upgrade, but we were not charged any extra. We did find the bed a little 'bouncy' and in consequence kept each other awake for much of the night. Overall though, we had a pleasant stay, albeit for just one night, and would happily return if the occasion presented itself.
- C&U (6/5): Presiwerte und ordentliche Unterkunft - Unkomplizierter Empfang. Beim Frühstück fanden wir alles vor, was wir benötigen.
- Scott (2/5): £5 per night - terrible stay
shower broken
didnt clean the room
down stairs toilet discrace
- Karen (10/5): Great B&B for the price !!!!! - I booked last min, for a business trip and this was the closest B&B to where I needed to be.... For £35 I was really impressed, the room was lovely and warm, plenty of tea and coffee and cleanliness was excellent..!!! The bed was comfy and I had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was a help yourself continental which seemed to work well. Plenty of options of drink, cereal, toast, pastries and in the fridge meat, cheese and yoghurt etc. The hotel is in a quiet street just off the Sea Front with lots of on street parking. There are a selection of Fish and Chip Restaurants, Inidan and Chinese within walking distance.
- Verified traveler (6/5): ok - ok
- Simon (10/5): Nice little b&b - Great place to stay just could do with having a cooked breakfast
- george (8/5): Good location - Very good close to shops and bars on see front rooms clean would recommend visiting great fish and chips!!
- Jan T (8/5): Really good sleep - Little hick up getting into hotel, soon sorted, up graded us. Beds really comfy, room clean and quiet had our two year old with us. Loads of hot water, tea coffee etc breakfast ideal for us with little one, continental but plenty choice. Only problem was the room was cold, once in bed we soon got warm, good quilts and extra blankets, it was mid February when we were having terrible weather. Will use this hotel again when visiting friends again, well worth the money, well done!!!!
- shopfitters (2/5): Very Poor - No Hot water, No Heating, Broken shower, Dirty Bath and Toilet. Needless to say we wont be staying nor recommending this hotel.
- Pia Ørntoft (8/5): - OK
- John from North Wales (8/5): Perfectly adequate - Stayed here to drop off daughter for Uni. Excellent value for money for a functional stay. Hostess was very friendly and had kindly waited for us. Easy to find off the main network. Free, off-road parking to rear.
- Middle aged couple (4/5): Dismal - Stayed bank holiday weekend. Apart from seeing the owner's mother who had to come and let us in on arrival we did not see another living soul in the hotel during our stay. The help yourself breakfast turned out to be a do it yourself breakfast of cereal and toast and we even had to make our own hot drinks. The room was OK although the shower did not work and the en suite needed a revamp. This hotel would be better suited to a contractor working away from home. The best thing was the location. Overall very disappointing.
- Mg (4/5): Not as hotel.com described - Arrived and waited 30 minutes for someone to come and let me in. Breakfast was advertised on hotels.com as full English. It was some cereal, a loaf, a toaster and a packet of ham in the fridge. Nothing was replaced the morning after.
- Verified traveler (10/5): good service - Firstly this guest house was possibly the best value I have ever paid for a room in the last 6 months of working away from home on a regular basis. The staff were friendly and the are was in a quite area. It is situated close enough for places to eat and the walk on to the beach was perfect. The only down side to all this was that I was only in the area for one day this visit. I would recommend this to any visitor in the future. a barging and great place to get your head down.
- Verified traveler (4/5): You pay for what you get! - Staff are lovely as is the location. Rooms are very basic (single) room with a bathroom shared between x amount of rooms, not ideal!
- Verified traveler (8/5): relaxed place - Is a nice relaxed place, I felt very welcome and was more than adequate for my one day business trip.
- M.clarke (10/5): - Very friendly good early breakfast made life easier before I headed to work good couple of restaurants nearby, quiet time of the year and a few places shutdown. Will stay again
