- dalescouser (4/5): Room 3 was an icebox and too many issues - This hotel should be amazing but sadly its far from it. Let's talk positives first, great location out of the way, easy access to car park, nice automatic opening entrance and level access. Restaurant staff were great. Food was good,a little pricey but not bad Now sadly for the negatives, I am disabled and use a walker so I can't walk too far but when I booked I requested a ground floor room or near to reception and they messaged me back confirming I'd be on the ground floor and that it has a double bed and if that's ok which I was. Arrived and signed at reception by Linda. She saw me using my walker but then said I was on the 2nd floor but when I said I had asked for a ground floor room and got confirmation she then changed my room to room 3. Now rooms 1,2 and three are connected through one door and 2 steps down but I don't think linda considered this what with me using a walker so obviously my things fell off the walker but luckily one of the restaurant waitresses saw me and helped. The room was abit dark but the worst thing was the air con was turning out freezing air and so the room was like an icebox. The temp control was busted so you couldn't change the temp and I had read some reviews mentioning about this issue but they didn't say which room it was. Also the TV remote didn't work so I checked the battery compartment and the batterys were crumbling apart which means they've been like that for awhile. Then I checked around the room and the metal tube that connects the shower to the shower head was black in parts and when I looked at the shower head itself it had lots of limescale on it. Also the mirror was dirty and there was a stain in the bath someone had spat in it. The bedding wasn't very thick so with the room being freezing I thought they would at least put an extra duvet on.The carpet was threadbare also . Oh and maybe it's a Belgian thing but there was no tea or coffee making facilities in my room which surprised me When I went for my evening meal I mentioned about the freezing room and Linda said she would tell maintenance but didn't say when but she did offer extra bedding. I also gave her the remote and wasn't that bothered because I'm English so I wouldn't understand the TV anyway but Linda did say the last guest said the same thing but they didn't watch the TV either but that's not the point. They hadn't changed the batterys. So I had my meal. The cheese croquettes were really nice and the rolls that the waitress offered were also fresh. The main course of spaghetti olvio was drenched in oil. It was like a broth.i had to leave most of it. I also had a beer. The waitresses were nice though. The bill came to €38 which I think was abit too high in my opinion. So I walk back to reception and Linda hadn't changed the batterys so I had to wait. Then when I got back to my room after alot of fiddling with the battery's I finally got the TV to work. I had difficulty sleeping in a freezing room but I kept my clothes on in bed and wear my hoodie up otherwise I wouldn't have been able to stand it. This could be a great place but it feels like it's rundown and everyone's lost interest. I can't say anything about the other rooms but if you get offered room 3 make sure they have fixed the heating issue
- Adrian (6/5): - My Room number 211 was not cleaed during the daytime. . The cleaning staff knocked on my door at 18.00 and asked if i wanted my toom cleaned. The toilet roll holder was hanging off. Petit bémol en ce qui concerne la propreté, toile d’araignée dans la chambre, joint de carrelage de salle de bain moisi et la literie n’est pas très confort en ce qui concerne m oreiller et le matelas. Cependant je conseillerai cet hôtel à 100% et y retournerai si je le peut!!!!

I know this is not the hotel, but the water supplier in this area, but still it is a major issue. The hotel is ok, friendly and nice service, except this water issue. I hope they do their best to solve it
- Nicolas (4/5): - Catastrophique , chambre au RDC insalubre avec du moisi autour des fenêtres sur un mètre de hauteur . Voilage inexistant ne reste que la tringle , nous sommes au RDC donc aucune intimité à part fermer les rideaux occultants et allumer la lumière en pleine journée .

- kazMaidstone (6/5): A bit disappointing - The exterior and ground floor, reception, bar / restaurant etc, are very nice but the hotel rooms are a bit dated. However the hotel itself has some great facilities. My room also had a damp smell which was unpleasant. I found the staff to be curt to the point of rudeness and due to this I couldn’t recommend this hotel.

Notre chambre était très spacieuse, confortable, déco super, salle de bain très propre, linge de toilette et produit de douche fournis. Nous avons dîné au restaurant de l'hôtel, très bon et rapport qualité prix très abordable. Nous avons très bien dormi la literie est de très bonne qualité et confortable, les chambres sont bien insonorisées. Petit déjeuner avec du choix, salé/sucré très bon. Un agréable souvenir de notre escapade belge avec mon fils.

Service : des agents particulièrement professionnels et exemplaires à l'accueil avec avis et conseils conformes aux questionnements et apportant satisfaction ; Au restaurant le soir, vendredi et samedi satisfaits sauf une serveuse qui me dit que mon voucher n’est pas valable pour le mocktail exotique alors que le voucher est équivalent à une boisson soft ou une bière à hauteur de 5 Euros. Autant que je sache un mocktail est une boisson soft sinon faut indiqué aussi sauf mocktails ; Le dimanche : un serveur dont le service faisait peur à voir = débutant peut-être : on l'a tous été : heureusement aidé par le cuistot pour le service. Je n'ai pas fait long feu ce soir là. Chambre : on m’a avisé que surclassée. He bin, je me demande aussi ce que ça devait être si ce n'était pas le cas : wc pas trop bousculer le battant qu'il ne se décroche pas, aurait besoin d'un rafraîchissement, rideaux : ne pas tirer sur les extrémités qui ne tenaient déjà plus ; le dernier jour = odeur noseabonde dégoût provenant de la salle de bain ; fixation de la douche brûlée : bizarre ! ; dernier soir, eau du lavabo venant en a coup comme lorsqu'on coupe l’arrivée d’eau pour la reactiver ensuite. Le plus : un cadre dans les bois digne de ce nom avec possibilité de séjour dans hébergement atypique, une salle de musculation et une salle de billard pour la clientèle : non essayés = pas mon truc. - Verified traveler (8/5): Good food and good service. - The hotel was conveniently located close to SHAPE where I was doing some work. The hotel is a bit older, but the staff did a good job of taking care of me. My complements to the chefs as the consistently prepared wonderful meals.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Avis - Chambre propre et agréable en soit. L'isolation de la chambre pas au top on entendait la télé d'une autre chambre L'eau de la douche n'était pas très chaude. Salle de sport pas accessible car les machines ne fonctionnaient pas dommage. Sur le site hotels.com cela nous dit qu'il y a une piscine intérieure au final plus de piscine juste une extérieur mais pas chauffée. Mais la dame de l'accueil gentille et agréable.
- PETER (8/5): It's ok! - Ok for a quick trip. Was visiting the zoo and needed somewhere to sleep. Hotel felt clean in general but the rooms are quite tired and need work. Was going to eat at the restaurant but when we got there a customer was complaining about the food quality so gave it a miss. Parking is handy

- Scott (10/5): Wonderful little hotel - I had one of the sauna rooms which was pretty great. Make sure you ask the front desk if it is not getting hot they have some buttons to push to get it all working.
- ddZ8586PL (2/5): Worst management ever, very UNSAFE. - The hotel out me up at a Lodge away from the main building. At 0230 a.m. there was no more electricity. No emergency lights, no intercom, no wifi, poor mobile reception. Night duty guy tried various ways to resolve electricity issues but to no avail. He contacted hotel management but they did not sanction emergency call out of technicians. Night duty guy offered to move me to the main building where there were a couple of rooms available. Long story short street packing up and coming to the main building the night duty guy could not get any keys to work. I asked to be able to speak to the management but was refused. As a result I ended up calling in the hobby room sofa for the rest of the night (no ability to turn off the lights here!) Without any privacy as well as no security as it was a communal area. Management key unsafe conditions persist and take no interest in coming up with a workable solution or offer any reasonable alternative.

I stayed in a tree house, which seemed a little neglected from a cleaning and maintenance perspective. The shower drained slowly and I asked the front desk to have someone look at it - not sure if they did. There were several smashed dead bugs that hadn't been cleaned off the walls, and the window leaked when it rained. I think it could have been a really cool place - just needs some love.

- Simon (8/5): - Really quiet hotel. Convenient for an overnight stay on our way from the Chunnel to Germany. Staff speak some English, which was a nice bonus when we called because we were going to be late. You can check in no matter how late you arrive. Bar closes at 11pm but the night porter can still sell you bottles of beer. Unlike us, do remember to close the window at night or you will be bitten by mosquitos!
- Aaron (6/5): Lovely property, just let down by cleanliness - We stayed in one of the treehouse lodges, in which facilities were good! View out the window was really cool, bathroom was good. Only thing that let it down was the overall cleanliness of the property. Was dead flies throughout, and old pile of mud or animal waste underneath the stairs, crack in the shower floor. We stayed with an under 3, however stairs are a little precarious due to the construction of the pod, we may consider this if we was to stay in the future.

Comparable to sewer and an old homes people smell. The airconditioning did not work. We complained several times (3) during the evening and night. The staff was willing to help. Little did we know that the staff actually dealt with these complaints many times. So it was just a rehearsed helping offer. Heard that from the barman during my last complaint in the middle of the night. The room is in desperate need of a new carpet, a new paint on the wall and new mattresses and a new bathroom and a new airconditioning which can actually work. The bathroom shower did not work due to the lime scale. There was no water coming thru the big shower head at all! So i could most certainly tell the shower wasn’t cleaned for at least 3 weeks. There was even a small bottle of shower gel from The previous visitor. The lime scale on the walls was of the charts. There are tons of mosquitoes in the room and hotel. So sleeping with the window open was no option. At 1pm i could get a hold of a fan so we were able to get a few hours sleep but we woke up with broken backs and a lot of mosquito bites. After that it was time for breakfast. There was not a lot of choice. There were two types of bread, chocolate croissants and some cereal. The scrambled egg was really disgusting. The orange juice not fresh. For the amount of money you pay you are better off at a gasstation. I can go on and on with everything that is wrong with this place. On top of this all the fire alarm went off three times due to a mail function. The pool had turned green. So I would not recommend swimming there either. This hotel definitely earned a top 2 spot of worst hotels I ever stayed at.

At 1pm i could get a hold of a fan so we were able to get a few hours sleep but we woke up with broken backs and a lot of mosquito bites. After that it was time for breakfast. There was not a lot of choice. There were two types of bread, chocolate croissants and some cereal. The scrambled egg was really disgusting. The orange juice not fresh. I can go on and on with everything that is wrong with this place. On top of this all the fire alarm went off three times due to a mail function. The pool water had turned green. This hotel definitely earned a top 2 spot of worst
- Sophie (2/5): - We stayed in one of the sauna rooms. First issue was that the room was situated downstairs, next to the gym, the hotel toilets, & the reception area, so was very noisy. We had people in the room above us banging the floor, running around & shouting at 1am. The sauna was a nice addition to the room, but the water bucket was full of mouldy water. Cobwebs & dust everywhere in the room, and a colony of ants outside the room door, which a member of staff did clean up, but the ants returned about 10 mins later. We went for food at the hotel too, which was nice, but definitely not worth the price at all. The staff were all very polite and did assist when we reported the people above us being loud. The gym was nice, had little equipment but was good quality & very clean. We didn’t use the pool. I wouldn’t go back to this hotel, and I would recommend finding somewhere else in the area to stay.

- Ari-jan72 (4/5): Look further! - Hard beds, lots of dust. A wall lamp with no bulb, just cobwebs. The bathroom sink faucet is loose. The shower basin is clogged. The shower is a separate cabin in the room. Cold water, weak flow. My room had a sauna. Well, it was a wooden booth whose sauna function did not work. Breakfast was okay, but expensive for what you get. Very limited. The outdoor pool looks more like a dirty pond than a pool. The central part of the hotel (lobby and hallway) looks neat. The garden at the back is also okay. From the front, it's a dump. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back here soon. The staff was friendly and spoke good English.

- James (6/5): - No wi fi in our room. No extra blankets. Soap dispensers without bar soap. Shower without curtain to keep floor dry (plexiglass panel does not nearly keep floor dry). No safety rails, and these issues are dangerous to anyone, especially the elderly.
- Sabine (8/5): - The Utopia hotel is a wonderful gem in the forest near Mons. The front staff is absolutely amazing, courteous, and attentive. The breakfast is €12, and I think it is good value for what you get. The rooms a little bit on the small side, but very clean. I think I gave the four stars, instead of five, because I came back from visiting a friend last night, and the parking lot is very dark. It was raining a lot, and that made it almost spooky to run from my car to the entrance. I wish they would install more lights. Also, be careful, the shower is very, very slippery. Also, I noticed there are no Kleenex, no in room, coffee maker, and no telephone, in case you absolutely have to call the front staff. But I would stay here again, it is comfortable and you have everything you need. Again, the prime staff was exceptional. Thank you so much for all your help. 😀

- 610Dearthur (6/5): Average room, Great service and food! - We booked the Pairi Daiza package, and we were thoroughly impressed with the dining experience. The restaurant provided excellent service, and the staff were friendly throughout our stay. The breakfast offerings were both ample and delicious, setting a positive tone for our visit. However, our overall impression was marred by some significant issues with our room: - It wasn't that clean. - Upon entering our room, we had to deal with at least 6 mosquitoes. - Regrettably, the air conditioning system appeared to be malfunctioning, leaving our room uncomfortably warm. - Only 1 small bad pillow each and 1 blanket. - The relentless presence of mosquitoes made it impossible to enjoy a restful night's sleep.. Unfortunately, this resulted in a rather unpleasant night for us. Other things that could be said: - The indoor pool felt uncomfortably cold, and the water appeared cloudy. (we didn't used it) -The outdoor pool was in a state of disrepair, with murky green water and low temperatures. - The exterior of the establishment appeared to be undergoing extensive renovations, which detracted from the overall ambiance of the place. This was particularly disappointing because we could see the immense potential the location had to offer. We believe that if these issues with the room(s) were addressed, it would greatly enhance the overall experience, potentially elevating it to a four or even five-star rating.
- Adam (6/5): - Stayed here in a triple room. 2 adults, 1 child. Room was generally on the small side. Bathroom had no shower curtain/screen so the whole bathroom got wet every time someone showered. Small indoor pool, not very deep but my daughter enjoyed. Staff were friendly. Cute cats around the property. Bar and restaurant looked nice though we didn't eat there.

- Laura (10/5): Belle hotel - Hotel très jolie, dans un coin de nature reposant et calme. L'accueil super. Par contre au vu du prix de la chambre nous avons trouvé l'état un peu moyen. Rouille dans la douche, rouille sur l'armoire, pas de lumiere au dessus du lit. Toile d'araignée un peu partout dans la chambre. Fenetre impossible a ouvrir pour acceder a la petite terrasse. Et chambre absolument pas insonorisées (nous étions en face de la piscine et heureusement que celle ci ferme a 22h car nous entendions tous et également les membre du personel qui etait a coter. le sauna au top et le personnels aussi, cadre agréable et relaxant.

Omwille van de energiecrisis was het binnenzwembadwater zeer koud (men zei 24 graden maar ik betwijfel dat. Het voelde nog kouder aan). Dat was niet aangekondigd bij de boeking, dus een grote teleurstelling.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Lacking a lot and needs to deliver what's paid for - A place with under achieved potential. General condition was sub-standard but with a little effort it could be great. In general, service was very lacking in the professionalism expected of any hotel. Some staff were great and did the best they could but some staff needed a lesson in appropriate attitude when dealing with issues created by the hotel; the biggest issue was the apparent crisis situation created by 2 adults and 1 child in a comfort double room despite this being what was booked and paid for in advance. However, with this issue and some other general issues relating to cleanliness and a lack of routine maintenance, the hotel does have a lot of potential but needs a significant shake out to achieve it. Would we use it again? As it is, no, but perhaps if it delivered the intended experience advertised.

- Benjamin (6/5): A éviter!!!! - Sejour pour le travail De l'exterieur l'hotel semble bien mais les apparences sont trompeuses... La chambre 101 etait sale, la moquette etait tellement tachée que je nai pas osé me balader pieds nu dans la chambre, la salle de bain avait un evier jaunit par le calcaire et la separation entre la chambre et la salle de bain par une vitre transparente est une mauvaise idee car pas de rideaux a la fenetre de la salle de bain donc reveille a 5h par le leve du jour. La piscine est belle en photo mais attention a vous elle est tres sale, le systeme de filtration semblait ne pas fonctionner, il y avait des cadavres d araignées a la surface et le fond etait poisseux et non nettoyé depuis un bon moment. Jai juste mis la main dans leau et lodeur de leau me faisait penser a lodeur de leau dun etang. Aller dans la piscine cest prendre le risque d'attraper une maladie, je serai curieux davoir les analyses de l'eau... jai alerte la personne de laccueil qui semblait ne pas etre étonnée et n'a rien fait pour ameliorer la situation. Jai l'habitude des hotels (2 a 3 nuits par semaine) et le petit déj a 15e cest du vol. Je nai pas teste le restaurant car les prix etaient élevé pour ce qui etait proposé. Je suis alle dans le centre ville de Mons ou jai bien mange pour moins de 20€. Pour finir, payer presque 90€ pour des prestations comme celle ci, je n'ai quune chose a dire fuyez!!!

- Verified traveler (2/5): - Lots of Potential, but no motivation to reach it! The property is very neglected and needs attention. The WIFI offered at the hotel is worthless. If you are a business person and need to conduct business using the service at the hotel, you can forget that. Opening personal email was not successful. The hotel was mostly empty, but we were put in a room where the sink in the bathroom, had a huge crack in it. The crack was not even sealed and was dangerous. There was no toilet brush. The drains smelled. The ventilation system was confusing, no manual and the fan system made a lot of noise, and yet there was no air. This is a three star hotel being managed at the level of a 1 star. Because you have a restaurant, pool and sauna does not justify your level of excellence, but by the care and consideration you take care of your environment. The Management needs to seriously look at the customer service and consider how to make each customer's stay optimal. Would it be so difficult to have moved us into a room where everything worked? Does the staff know which rooms are complete? Letting the customer know that you are putting them in a room that is better would make a difference to anyone. We booked a comfort room, but in retrospect as I look at the photos we were placed in the a standard room. The lack of attention, training and consideration of making your experience comfortable is really the only responsibility of the hotel. My recommendation is look elsewhere.

- Alain (8/5): - I would have preferred to be there in a warmer season because i think the property has more to offer. It's a nice and quiet place. I was there on business working long hours during the day so at night i would have appreciated a microwave in my room or access to one in the lobby. There was not much diversity in the bar offer, i think this more culture related, the time i went out to eat and drink i found out it was the same elsewhere.But i would return to that hotel i liked it.

- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was not clean to my standards. There were stains in the carpet. The bathroom was dirty. The sink had brown rings around it the shower was decomposing. The drain on the shower was filthy and the water would not drain properly. There were bugs in the room. The refrigerator did not work and the bottom piece to the shower was sitting on the seat inside the shower. This room was definitely not a comfort room which I reserved and there was also water damage in the corner of the room in the ceiling and on the wall. Cracks were seaming from the water damage. It was a horrible place and I checked out the next morning.

I refused the first room and felt I definitely didn’t have any option but to take the 2nd room as hotels.com had messed up my booking in a previous hotel and as I was travelling alone and it had got dark I felt too afraid to travel to another hotel .
