• Naoya (9/5): - The room we stayed in was just as we expected; the view from the window was beautiful. It's true that going to the city center from the accomodation requires walking up and down steep hills, but if you're prepared for that beforehand, it wasn't too difficult. However, it might be tough if you're carrying a suitcase.
• Soong (8/5): Lovely house on a hill - It's a lovely house on a hill, with sufficient parking space and within short driving distance to the town centre. As it's a Airbnb style place, there is not much support compared to an actual hotel. But the rooms are cleaned daily, refreshments replenished, basics are there.

En el living de cortesía hay snacks y vino/licores a disposición. En la tv de la habitación se puede ver Netflix y otros canales La habitación es pequeña, no hay ni repisas ni ganchos en el baño, se podría mejorar la comodidad de la habitación con solo cambiar de lugar y quitar algunos muebles grandes por otros más pequeños. Hay pequeños detalles para mejorar , iluminación en la entrada ( no se ven las escaleras del estacionamiento) . En mi habitación había una lámpara que titilaba todo el tiempo. No me parece que la relación costo servicio sea la adecuada, pero Queenstown es caro
• Linda (8/5): A cozy and comfortable lodge with nice lake view, more suitable for guests with a car. - The room has a view of the lake and backdrop mountains, the location up in the hill makes this possible. Suitable for guests driving car, as walk uphill is not recommended in the evening.

• Peter (10/5): Had a fantastic time. The room was great with a fabulous view of Queenstown - The location was great. Our host was exceptional. Made sure we had what we needed. She was very kind and drove us into town for an excursion. Had extra treats for us to enjoy after our day out. The location is up high. The hill climb was a little tough. Would be hard for some people. The best way around it is Uber. Worth the little cost.

• Gina (8/5): Peaceful accommodations with great views and caring host. - Host was wonderful and went out of her way to do my laundry during the stay. She provided some great recommendations. The lodging has a common room with amazing views of Queenstown and the host put out snacks and wine as a courtesy for all guests. While the location is definitely close/walkable to town, it is an downhill/uphill walk. I read about this prior to booking but didn't truly appreciate the incline (and note that I am a walker/hiker). While my husband and I viewed it as a workout, others not in shape may not appreciate this aspect.

• RODRIGO (10/5): Worth every single penny. if I return with my partner, I would definitely 100% stay here again. - Balmoral Lodge was a wonderful place to stay, and I truly enjoyed spending our days here in Queenstown. Cis (the manager) was extremely kind to us. We arrived later than our scheduled check-in time, and he waited for us and welcomed us in a great way. She also helped us with a laundry service that was not included, yet he was kind enough to offer it anyway. The view from the room makes everything incredible—you wake up to one of the best views in Queenstown. For the price we paid, I believe it was absolutely worth it. We thought the room would be a bit bigger than it actually was, but even so, I really liked it. The service was excellent, and the room had many thoughtful details such as good coffee, tea, and very good cleanliness. The only thing that could be improved is the attitude of the housekeeping staff. It felt like they were in a hurry to have us out of the room by 10:30 a.m., otherwise it felt as if the room would not be cleaned. They were not very flexible when we asked to leave 30 minutes later—we requested 11:30 a.m., but it was not accepted. On the last day, they also left the cups we used for coffee and tea unwashed. Aside from that, it is an excellent place to stay, and I would recommend it 10 out of 10 times.
• Bakula (10/5): - Lovely view from my window.very friendly owner and her dog too. Having a fridge and tea kettle in room was nice as no breakfast is offered by the lodge. The panoramic view from my room was absolutely stunning . Return from center of town involves a long uphill walk so took a cab up every night . This is not for senior travelers with knee problems . Upper rooms have stairs only and Cis the owner is unable to help with luggage due to her own health .

• Kaedyn (9/5): Beautiful property. Very nice views, facilities, and staff. - We had an amazing view of the city. Waking up and seeing the mountains and lake from our bed was awesome. The staff was very friendly and available. There was a nice common room and balcony and the staff even offered complimentary nightcaps. My only complaint was that the property sits above the city on a hill -- it's only a 5-10 minute walk to downtown, but the hill is very steep. However, this is the case for many properties and it's what gave us the amazing view.

We particularly enjoyed being able to have breakfast in the living area with a clear view of the lake and the mountains. The host was very helpful and very gracious as well. Overall, if you’re looking for an awesome place to stay with an amazing view, this is definitely the place to be. The parking situation is a bit difficult, but based on how the other housing places and streets looked, this isn’t an issue unique to Balmoral Lodge.

Not too many guests, so it was relatively quiet/private. The views from the main area were beautiful. Stocked with tea and coffee as well as daily cleaning. This is just an FYI and didn't overly impact the stay. Note not all rooms have clear views, however, the main shared space provided this. The room didn't have a full length mirrors.

The views are stunning and having the lounge with special treats to while away the evening and enjoy the beautiful views of Queenstown was a lovely touch to this wonderful property. Couldn’t fault it and well worth the walk up the hill

• Jonathan (7/5): Great views and location, average nights sleep. - Great location and the view was exceptional. The room had very large picture pane windows overlooking the lake and town. The room and bathroom were very spacious. Very loud and got woken up at 7am on both mornings. The pillows were truly terrible. The incense burning at 7am caused some allergy issues. The room was not well curtained so light just poured in from the top window as soon as the sun rose. Was surprised that the bathroom had no body wash.

• WANG (10/5): Overall, I am very satisfied and recommend this place to everyone. - I didn't have high expectations when booking this room, but I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. Firstly, the view from the room is breathtaking. Both the bedroom and living room offer stunning mountain and lake views of Queenstown. I particularly like the landlord's cherry blossom tree, which enhances the scenery. I wasn't sure if I would see any cherry blossoms at this time, but I was lucky to catch them. The room is cleaned daily, and the landlord provides fresh local milk. However, it's worth noting that many of the houses here are located on hillsides. Even though the map shows it to be only a few hundred meters away, it takes a long time to walk there, and the slope is steep. It's advisable to choose a mode of transportation other than walking, such as taking a taxi. We were lucky enough to meet a passerby who drove us there. Once again, I want to thank the honest and kind residents here!

• David (10/5): Fantastic place to stay and view Queenstown - Fantastic location up Queenstown Hill views across the lake and down on the quay our room which was upgraded had everything we needed and our host Sis was really helpful and knowledgeable Well the fact it was a steep walk back up the hill I suppose but saying that it's good for the heart and we could have always used the car although parking in Queenstown is not cheap

The views of the mountains from the room and bathtub overlooking the gorgeous landscape was incredible. The bed was so comfy and spacious. The location was perfect only being a very short drive to town and my partner and I loved relaxing in the living room, reading and playing cards like it was our home away from home. The room was cleaned everyday and we had an amazing time getting to know the lovely host Cis and her adorable dog Benji. We’d stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you Cis! Nothing!

The facilities were spotless and well-equipped, and the space felt warm and comfortable. What really stood out was the incredible hospitality—so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We felt right at home. Would 100% stay here again. Highly recommended!

• Frances (9/5): Wonderful home away from home in the heart of Queenstown. - What a wonderful place to stay!. Have been to Queenstown many times but first time with kids. The apartment is spacious and thoughtfully equipped with all the comforts you would expect. Proper size laundry, good for storing gear overnight etc. in addition to use of the garage. Very comfortable beds, cupboard space and a spot for suitcases. Easy parking access relative to the room (good if carrying lots of gear). The sound proofing is great- I am a light sleeper and no issues at all- hardly know anyone else is there. Wonderful spa in master bathroom. Loved the lounge and piano too. Kind, friendly and attentive hosts- Rafaela is an Absolute pleasure to talk to. The views do not disappoint at all- just fantastic and having two outdoor spaces to relax is a nice bonus. Very close to town and yes there is a hill if you wish to walk but I always have a car in QT. Next time we will have the upstairs room and the apartment so Mum can come too. Some of the furniture is a bit dated and the kitchen could use a few more utensils like tongs- maybe an oven proof dish.

• Jack (10/5): Fantastic place to stay - Let me just start by saying despite how close this looks, this property is an Uber away from the town centre, only $10, but with how high up it is, its not easy to walk. With that said. I would not choose another hotel to stay at in queenstown, the view from our room was second to none and Sis was a fantastic host. I would highly recommend this property over anything closer to the centre, the uber is worth the views provided and i would more than happily book again on my next visit. Nothing

• Weston (10/5): Best view of any location in Queenstown. - Cannot say enough about the views, best way to truly take in the majesty that is Queenstown. 15ish minute walk to/from town but the walk back up the hill can be challenging depending on your fitness level. Staff and services were amazing. None. It was perfect.

• Anne (8/5): Brilliant views from the guest house - Fantastic views of Queenstown from the property. Cis was a brilliant host and gave us really useful information about places to go. We went to Ayrburn on her recommendation and had a wonderful lunch there. The bed was also very comfortable and property was a short walk from the town centre. It wasn't a big issue, but the walk back to the house was quite steep.

• Christie (7/5): I would not recommend to friends. - Owner Cis was very kind. Linens were very nice and the view was inviting. We were invited to have a night cap with her… the booze for the night cap tasted old. She’d be best to buy a couple of fresh and quality bottles. It was .5 miles from town straight up steep hilly streets so we walked into town but Uber back every time we went out. I wouldn’t call this place a lodge. It was a home that was probably at one time gorgeous but is now dated.
• Keith (8/5): Some pros and cons. But that view!! - Comfortable and clean. The view was spectacular with a fantastic front garden. Some nice freebies in the common area The view come with a price. While a walk into town was pretty easy, the walk back was a bit of a haul. Keep it in mind. The unit we stayed at has a vey nice en suite however the other room had a very basic (and cheaply apppointed) bathroom
