Neither is returning our money AND we were left stranded with nowhere to stay in Amalfi! Expedia is waiting for confirmation that we did not stay - the hotel is not responding. This was our honeymoon!! Expedia not releasing my refund- let alone being stranded at 5pm with a fully paid for reservation they would not honor. This is a scam - I will delete this comment IF the hotel manager responds to Expedia email- we did not get to stay and should not have to pay for nothing PLUS having to find other accommodation on our honeymoon during a peak time in Amalfi!!!! Ruined our honeymoon experience 😭😭😭

The manger then took a 50 euros deposit for a taxi ride to our next location. He said it was 180. I paid 130 to driver and he said that the manager kept 50 euros that is steeling

Loved how close it is to the town center, but walking our suitcases up the hill was a LOT. best for young people and families that are active and dont mind the hills and steps.

• Prajnaneil (2/5): - During our recent stay at Hotel Amalfi Resort, we encountered a stark contrast in service quality that significantly affected our overall experience. Positives: The standout aspect of our visit was the incredible service provided by the lady who managed our room and breakfast. Her professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness went above and beyond. She greeted us warmly each morning, consistently ensured our comfort, and truly embodied the essence of hospitality. Negatives: Unfortunately, our interactions with the hotel manager left much to be desired. From the beginning, he seemed more interested in promoting expensive taxi services than in genuinely assisting us. Despite his claims of unreliability in public transport and supposed road closures to destinations like Ravello, we discovered that these assertions were misleading and seemingly motivated by personal gain. Our departure was particularly distressing. On a rainy day, amidst the challenging logistics of moving our luggage down numerous stairs due to the hotel's cliffside location, we were denied the simple courtesy of temporarily storing our luggage at reception, with the manager citing a lack of space—a hard-to-believe excuse. His refusal to assist and subsequent indifference as we struggled in the rain was not only unhelpful but also displayed a complete lack of empathy.

The service phenomenal immediately once you book you talk to their front desk person, one person named was Andrea however there was another gentlemen I forget his name he was VERY helpful from booking cars to excursions, this helped me feel safe. The main road isnt far from the hotel about a 10 min walk but if you have luggage might be an inconvenience, the hotel staff arranged for a car for us from the train station. Resort was clean it was 3 of us in 1 room comfortably. Bathroom nice. The pictures are a little deceiving in my opinion as the room size seemed a bit smaller than the photos but it is a good size room we stayed in. The pool is not huge but its nice and has a deep end. There's a nice lounge space and complimentary breakfast that's continental style but enjoyable. Overall id say about a 4.5 its also close to everything ferry, food, shopping. I think it could be a little cheaper priced for what's offered but that's a personal preference. Pool closes like 7/8pm I personally think that's a little early and they should consider a later pool time.

Just a little tiring for young kids. Nice quite area though and a small shop right next door to buy a few things like water, beer and snacks. Staff very helpful and friendly. I would say the pool is the winning aspect of this place.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Amalfi Stay - The hotel was decent and fairly priced for the area. No frills but got the job done. It was very spacious compared to other hotels in the area. The bag service was expensive at 7 euro per bag and for some reason the price was increased to 10 euro per bag on the trip back down to the ferry port. We also found the air conditioner leaked on our last night.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Worst room on Italian vacation - Sheets on bed were wet both nights. It was a cold room that lacked sunlight. I called to upgrade room and was told that since we were A party of 2, they did not have any rooms available. The larger rooms were for parties of 4 and they had one left. They seemed hesitant to offer it to me. If we upgraded to a larger room for 4 it would have been an additional $160 euros per night. I could not get over how cold, damp and moldy the room was. Could not wait to leave the Amalfi Coast.

• J. Harris (4/5): NOT A HOTEL, A CRAPPY APARTMENT. NOT WORTH THE $ - To call this place a hotel is a joke. It is a low rent apartment building with windows looking into other people's houses. The electric sockets are mostly burned out and we have pictures to prove it. The furniture inside are cheap (not even IKEA cheap). The biggest problems were that the "Front Desk" is their laundry unit, the property managers were rude and unhelpful when we left property there, you must lug your luggage up the hill (steep on any account) for 10 minutes (not 5 minutes, and there is no electric bus line, that is a lie), and the shower in the bathroom is BROKEN!!! You have to hold the shower head up while you suds up, the water goes everywhere and the hot/cold buttons do NOT WORK. Do not stay here. Do not even think of it. There are several hotels out there for the same price (HOTEL CETUS IS AMAZING) just down the way that are way more worth it and are right in Amalfi or a bus ride away from Amalfi. WORST "HOTEL" EXPERIENCE IN YEARS!!!

• Jonathan (10/5): Great little place to stay - Wasn't sure what to expect, as our combined booking was so reasonable, we arrived and although it isn't in the centre directly its a 5 minute walk at the most to the beach and enjoyable walking through the narrow streets. The hotel/apartments are basic but good, clean & quiet. The pool is a nice little oasis in the hustle of and bustle of Amalfi especially when space is a premium and therefore not many places have pools. We were really happy overall and beyond what we expected for the price we paid for the area.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely stay in a beautiful location. - Great location and very helpful staff plus the pool is a very welcome break from the searing August heat! The beach and an abundance of great restaurants are all just a short walk away. The only downside was the room booking stated a luxury apartment with balcony - there was no balcony and I think luxury is not the right description...it was very spacious, clean and nice but not luxury. Also the pool area is gated but the gates are left open 24x7 - there is a clear sign saying the pool is open 10am to 7pm which was respected by all but one group of guests...the issue was resolved the next day by the friendly staff but perhaps the pool gates could be closed/locked out of hours to avoid families being woken up at 4-5am? Many thanks again for a lovely stay in Amalfi :-)
• revivit (2/5): Very small room no window a little claustrophobic. - I am very disappointed with the fact that the room has no windows and it did not state it , extremely small and I can't wait for our 4 nights to be over.. I hope we will not end up divorced as the lack of space makes for irritable husband!

• Verified traveler (4/5): Last Resort! - Room looked nice but had a song mildew smell. WiFi doesn't work in the room as advertised. Room has a washer but no dryer. The hotel directed us to a clothes line behind a wall at the rear of the courtyard to dry our clothes and it was raining that day! One of the managers has a nasty attitude and be prepared to pay fees! 10am checkout!!!!
• Verified traveler (4/5): Cold room - Water wasn't hot and the room was cold. We were expecting a king bed 2 singles but got a queen and a pullout couch. Linens were stained with blood. We did not enjoy our stay here at all.
• Jan (10/5): Wonderful Stay Value for Money! - We had a lovely apartment with 2 bathrooms one with a washer and dryer in it. The kitchen was good although there was water leaking from the dishwasher and is seemingly going to spoil the cupboards. I think it may have been an old church, therefore, the ceilings and windows were amazing. The pool was central and occupied well by other tenants. There are a lot of stairs to climb so I would not recommend it for anyone who is not able bodied especially when carrying suitcases. It is in a very charming and old area as is all of Amalfi with narrow streets teaming with tourists following flags of the various tour guides which does look funny. You can access Amalfi by ferry or bus. Now, the bus wow what an experience, the narrow winding roads up the cliff faces is the most amazing eye popping experience.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Great location - The Amalfi Holiday Resort is in a great location. Close enough to all the restaurants, shops, beach etc., but far enough away from the noise and crowds. The accommodation itself was a little disappointing. First impression when we arrived was that we were not made particularly welcome by the hotel management. it all seemed as though it was too much trouble and effort. The room itself was ok, needs some updating. The grounds and pool area with a little bit of effort could be really nice. Sadly, nobody seemed to be bothered. The Amalfi Holiday Resort was an ok place to stay but could have been a really great place to stay.
• Michele (8/5): Character hotel in great location - We had a lovely 3 night stay at Amalfi Resort Hotel. The place had so much character and was ideally located to explore Amalfi. Our room was quite small but it was really clean and very close to the pool. Perfect for a quick dip after a day out. I would definitely recommend it for a short stay.

The location was fantastic, just a short walk from the centre and all the restaurants but far enough away to feel nice and quiet. Simple and really good value for money.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Relaxing Time - We were given the Maestrale Unit. This was a nice quiet unit on the bottom level. It was a spacious with a comfortable bed, cooking facilities and a clean, usable bathroom. The Amalfi Holiday Resort is paradise away from the business of outside. It is easy to find and get to. When you walk up the stairs and go through the doors to the complex, you arrive in a green garden oasis. I would recommend this place and if I was holidaying on the Amalfi Coast soon. I would definitely book a stay here again.
• Sean (10/5): Don't look any further stay here - This resort is absolutely beautiful! It is situated about 1 minute walk from the main stroll making it much more peaceful. The rooms are beautiful and large we were lucky enough to get an upgrade to one of the apartments. It was surprisingly inexpensive for Amalfi.
• Maria (10/5): One night stay - Family stay with two kids (9,11). 2 min walk to duomo piazza. Along the way plenty of stores. Room was very comfortable with kitchen. Pool was lovely too. A definate recommendation.: but take ferry and walk (5 min) Driving down narrow streets will be stressful. Wish we stayed longer.
• Ontario Canada (10/5): Quite a walk up, but definitely worth it! - A bit of a steep walk up (not stairs, just the street, but that is to be expected due to the geography of the area). Our apartment / condo / room was perfect - beautifully clean and roomy, with kitchen. Booked for 3 persons and there was ample room for all! Loved the tiled walls and floor in the bathroom: beautiful aquamarine blue!

• Ray (8/5): Amalfi Hotel Resort, - What pleased my wife and I was the apartmentment had recently been re-decorated, and was a credit to the workmen. The shower room / toilet had been updatedWhen searching hotels on the Internet last February, we found very few hotels in our budget did not have a swimming pool. However, we struck lucky when we found the Amalifi hotel and booked it there and then! Another thing that pleased us about our choice of hotel, was it was located in a very quite area of the town.
• Ross (8/5): Wish we had more time! - Great place . . . Location, size wad good for a family of four. Would definitely love to come back for longer than a night. Amalfi rocks.
• Angie + Family (10/5): Excellent hotel ideally situated in Amalfi - -Friendly and English speaking staff. Run by James and Geraldo. -Promptly answers to your phone calls or calls you back if number busy. -Hassle free check-in but you have to arrive at the hotel between 3.30-7.30pm before staff go home. -You will be stranded and unable to check-in if you arrive after 7.30. -Great facilities for a self catering holiday. -Close to the beach and local shops and attractions in Amalfi. -A good location for exploring the rest of the Amalfi Coast.
• Jonathan (10/5): How to enjoy Heaven in Amalfi - We booked blind. Reviews were mainly good. Some very poor. On arrival our reception host Gerardo was so welcoming, helpful and professional, I had to ask him why anyone would "bad review" this place. The apartment was PERFECT for all three adults. He informed me they had only taken over a week ago (March 2015). So negative reviews before this date IGNORE. Our four night stay was faultless, a gas problem in the kitchen was sorted expediently while we visited Capri. Their attention (James and Geraldo) to our well being, satisfaction and overall contentment was exemplary. Even the suggestion to eat at Antonio's restaurant down the street was a culinary highlight of my own life. What a star! (Being a well traveled photo journalist I know world food!). A word of ultimate praise must go to Salvatore, whose garage parking services are essential for anyone arriving in their own transport. His perfect English, easy and amicable manner along with a deep knowledge of the local history endeared him to us from the get go. Parking is non existent nor possible in Amalfi so this is essential, even in March when we went. Payment for garage services honored with gratitude. On call 24/7 was over and above. The Amalfi Holiday Resort is a treasure found and with many years experiencing service, accommodation and treatment of global travelers my 5 star rating can be considered 10+. To all, enjoy your stay, love the oranges and lemons and drink deep from the warmest of welcomes.
• sarah (8/5): Great Amalfi spot - Very clean studio,coffee and tea supplied to use along with all kitchen cleaning and dishwasher equip.Up the hill just out of the bustle of Amalfi so peaceful and quiet,great for a few days.Kids in the little pool.
• Rebecca M. (10/5): Excellent - The apartment was wonderful. Very spacious with comfortable beds. Just on the edge of town so was quiet at night but a very short walk to the center of town. The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing our meals. Very clean and beautiful setting. Susy could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Would return again and again.
• Kurt B. (10/5): GREAT STAY! - This place was great. Parking is 20 euros a night and the parking guy is friendly and speaks great English. The owner of the property is very helpful and very fluent in English as well. When you arrive you need to call the number on the booking reservation and have the owner meet you at the apartment, there is not an office or any way to contact the owner besides by phone. There is a store next to the step going to the entry door and the owner was nice enough to call the owner for us and she was there with the keys within 5 minutes. There is a great restaurant up the hill a couple hundred meters on the right that had fresh food, not frozen.
