Guest Reviews
- Jean-Francois (10/5): - L'hôte est bien situé. La chambre est grande, spacieuse et propre.
- Karen (4/5): - Very seldom had hotel room staff on site. Besides location, I booked this particular hotel because breakfast included only to be told when I arrived that they hadn't served breakfast for over a year.
- Deanne (6/5): - Only one key so couldn’t separate without leaving the room unlocked. Only 2 pillows in the entire room. Not super clean.
- Randy (6/5): - Breakfast buffet was advertised but there was none.
Defekte Duscharmatur. Personal wenn da freundlich. Leider kein Frühstück mehr da. Obwohl Bed and breakfast in Werbung steht.
- Brenda (10/5): - The suite was large, clean and had all that we needed- a little fridge, a few dishes, lots of space to relax - comfy bed, big bathroom, easy access to everything-beaches, shopping, restaurants, the staff were very helpful- just phone thr number provided and they explained where to park. The lot seems a little sketchy but our car was safe and there was never an issue in the time we were there. Lots of people come and go so finding a space wasn’t an issue.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location - Great location to walk around and go to restaurants after a day on the beach. The room was nicely decorated, comfortable and spacious. Highly recommended
- Charlie (8/5): - The property is billed as a BnB but no breakfast is served even though it say so on line and in documents at the facility
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Plusses: Great location in the old city section of Lagos, with a rooftop deck and convenient to shops, restuarants, bars, sights and tour excursions. 15 to 20 minute walk from train station.
Minuses: Staff are only available onsite for short hours, and they don't necessarily stick to their scheduled open times. Rooms are clean and spacious, but they don't include many extra frills such as body wash, soap or room coffee. The elevator is quite small (for one or two cramped) and eight or more stair steps are still required. Reception is on the rooftop level.
- Isidore (6/5): Great price - Convenient large room
- maureen (8/5): - First - this property is in a great location. The upstairs rooftop lounge area is amazing unfortunately, it is locked most of the time.
The price was very good.
Safety concerns - no smoke detectors in the rooms and no lighting in the hallway until the 4th day of our stay.
Lack of communication regarding check in and check out procedures; and the actual services offered.
- NAZIRALI N (8/5): - Good location
Carro fica longe. Dificulta um pouco com bagagem.
- Charlotte Kofoed (10/5): Virkelig dejligt sted - Meget centralt sted.
- Dominic (10/5): - Very nice owner, room was modern
- Claudia (10/5): - Great location! Spacious room!
- Gary (6/5): - Central location but the lift stops at mid level between floors so stairs up or down to your floor. Roof top bar very expensive and breakfast very basic.
- Phillip (6/5): Sub-par accommodations, great location - This "hotel" was not represented as a B&B by Hotels.com, which in fact, it is. It is most definitely NOT a full-service hotel. It is not well-cared for, and the check-in procedures and "guest services" is nearly non-existent. Very confusing and not communicated. Two things helped redeem this property--the location, and the roof-top bar. The location is excellent--right among a great pedestrian shopping and dining area, and a two-minute walk from the old town area of Lagos. Only 15-minute walk from the beautiful Lagos Marina area. The rooftop bar and pool have amazing views, and the bar staff is super friendly, providing excellent service and great drinks.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Central location - Excellent location. Walkable from bus station as well as the train station. Central location - close to most sites and a multitude of eating options.
Cortinas e porta do armario). Excelente localização.
- Robert (10/5): - The location is unbeatable - right in the middle of the old town, lots of restaurants around, music in the town square most day with different bands, singers etc. 2 minute walk to the water and taxie stand.
Since we have no car when there the no parking or direct access was no problem for us.
- Hanne (10/5): Excellent - Loved this place! Excellent location, and a wonderful way to start the day with breakfast on the rooftop terrace with that view! Supernice lady in the «reception», I’d love to come back😁
- Göran (6/5): Bra läge bra frukost sådär rum -
Mycket bra frukost
Super recomendo
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quiet and comfortable - I was so comfortable at this place, I didn't feel like leaving. Nice and spacious suites with a good location. Breakfast daily was wonderful. The mattress is spring and it isn't the greatest. Nice bathtubs. Decor is dated overall. Would stay again. 6/10
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location. Very nice rooms with comfortable beds and a fantastic breakfast on the roof with spectacular views. Very nice and helpful staff. An awesome value in a great city.
- Cynthia (8/5): - Such a quaint place. Loved the Sky Bar! A bit hard to find at first, but when you do, you realize the location is great. We recommended it to some friends and they visited the bar when yhey were there & enjoyed it as well. We will definately stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The best part about this Inn other than a perfect location, was the manager Alexandra
She went above and beyond in making our stay feel like a 5 star experience!!
Not bad for a 3 star property!
And breakfast was great too!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Inn Seventies is located in the centre of the old town just inside the walls. A welcoming cocktail on arrival was greatly appreciated. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. A hearty breakfast eaten on the roof top terrace each morning offered a selection of fruits, bread and cereal available. A choice of cafes and restaurants located close by along with clean sandy beaches and a beautiful marina offering many boat excursions along the coast. The train station is conveniently located only 10 minutes walk away as is the bus station.
- Marie (6/5): Low standard - The staff were kind and welcoming. The included breakfast was nice, with fresh fruits everyday. The location was also very central.
The room however, was not of the same standard. The tap on the washbasin was completely loose, the shower cabinet was dirty, as was the toilet. In total, the room held a low standard not justifying the price of the hotel.
- Savita (8/5): Greatr location and nice stay - Inn Seventies is situated in the heart of Lagos township; all shopping and restaurants are within a few meters. The view from our room was fantastic (overlooking waterfront). Only negative part is that if you have a rental car, the parking is not close by. You have to find some parking (paid or free) and then walk to the hotel with your luggage. Overall a nice experience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Funky 1970s Decor - Great location, funky 1970s decor, friendly staff, good breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was very friendly and the location was awesome! The breakfast buffet was great! Daily musical entertainment in the square wass a nice surprise!
- shirley (10/5): Little gem - What a fab 4 night stay we had with our friends, in this central, clean and comfy hotel. Very reasonably priced and with an excellent breakfast, with good hosts. I didn't know what to expect, but we certainly weren't let down. So many good bars and restaurants to choose from on the doorstep.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A great town centre location. The facility is a bit quirky and tired, but we liked it, and the agreeable manager/hostess. A good breakfast was included on a rooftop terrace with a fine view. The room was large. Rather frugal with bathroom items, such as soap and shampoo.
Overall, not posh, but a good choice.
- Jamal (8/5): - My girlfriend and I stayed here for 1 night. The overall property is located near all the restaurants and shops which was very convenient. Our unit was spacious with a lovely private balcony overlooking the main shopping area. Bed was comfortable although we were expecting a queen not two doubles pushed together. Also tended to be quite noisy at night due to street performers who played late even during the week. Main hotel staff were accomodating but not easily available to ask questions or retrieve things when needed. Breakfast that was included was delicious and well done. Overall property was clean with a great view from the main balcony/common area.
- melissa (8/5): Very comfortable stay right in the heart of Lagos! - Strict checking in rules, however to their credit waited for our delayed train/bus, which was appreciated. Room was amazing and so was the rooftop bar and breakfast the next morning. Location A+ as well.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice hotel, better than average breakfast
Alles super
- Sandra (8/5): - Todo muy bien en general!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location & room was fantastic, couldn’t have asked for anything better. The only thing that we didn’t like, was that when you showered, no matter how to position the shower curtain, water would go everywhere. So you’re either stuck with a lot of sitting water, or you’re using up your towels to clean it up. They don’t give you new towels every day, so we had a lot of water on the floor.
- Joep (8/5): Fantastic location - The hotel was located middle in the city center with shops, restaurants and bars. And within a 10 minute walk you can lay down on some beautiful beaches.
Great breakfast with a lot of fresh fruit. The friendly cook prepared the eggs any way you want.
The hotel feels like a family hotel. The staff was very friendly and when something went wrong or you had a request, they fixed it in a pleasant and satisfying way.
The roof terrace had a nice bar and a great view over the city and harbour.
- Albert (6/5): Decent location - Pros: Central location, nearby restaurants, shops, bars, waterfronts.
Cons: Old furniture, dirty shower and floors, 5 floors of stairs, no elevator.
Mycket bra läge i Lagos.
- Ryan (8/5): Not too bad or a quick stay. - Nice central location and easy access to the beaches and local transit. A bit noisy at night (windows open) and the room was a little musty probably from the air conditioner. The bathroom had some black mold on it which was a little gross.
Not too bad for a quick stay and the price was right.
- JOSE ANTONIO (10/5): Recomiendo - Muy bien ubicado. Te ofrecen parking gratis a150 metros del hotel
- Kathy (4/5): Some amenities mentioned were not offered - Hotel difficult to get to. Not accessible by car. Lots of shops and restaurants and the water nearby.
Description said pool offered; 2 feet deep with pigeons swimming in it. No concierge as mentioned. Included breakfast only during the summer. No down duvets; just fuzzy, cheap blankets.
Truly a room out of the '70's! Dark red bathroom, padding on the doors. Otherwise bathroom fixtures were fine. People were very pleasant and tried to be helpful.
- Lynn (8/5): good neighbourhood for walking - This property is in - as the name suggests - a 1970s building, and it shows. The rooms vary, but ours was quite spacious and comfortable, with a kitchenette and 'separate' living area - meaning the bed was farther along the room. It had several windows and a nice view onto one of the main public squares in town. Easy walking through town, though not particularly close to a beach - in March, not a big consideration.
The hotel has a restrictive policy about check-ins - none permitted after 6 p.m. (4 p.m. if staying only one night). This could be trouble for someone coming from a distance. Also, check-in is at a bar/restaurant on the 6th floor.
It is a bit hard to find the entrance to the place, though the building itself is clearly marked facing the square.
- Venera (6/5): grea location, staff but not stroller friendly... - We stayed in this property for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary and we were travelling with our 9 months old baby.
Location: its the heart of the town with a walking distance to everything- marina, old town, best restaurants, tourist attractions, supermarket and drug store. We really enjoyed evening walks with the baby.
What went well: we requested baby cot and a good view when making a reservation. The hotel staff satisfied our request and we were provided with a great street and marina view as well as with the baby cot and extra towels for the baby. we also travelled from Lisbon on a rented car and the property management provided us with a parking card free of charge- which was a very kind gesture.
what did not go well: the elevator (old and therefore small but its expected of an old european building) was between the floors so you have to take stairs of half of the floor to get to your floor- not very convenient for people with baby, lots of luggage, stroller or senior citizens. we only learned at the property that breakfast is not provided during the low season but there were plenty of restaurants around that served breakfasts. Finally, the entrance door to the building is very hard to open in the evenings, it opens only half way through and gets stuck to the files on the floor. Again, perfect for enter for one person at a time but a real struggle to enter with a baby stroller.
- deborah (8/5): - Super friendly and helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, good condition, very good breakfast, staff friendly. I will give 10 out of 10.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice hotel, however it has lost some of the shine that it had last year. It could do with a week of general maintenance and painting.
- Curt (8/5): Love this hotel - If I can, I always choose this Hotel in Lagos. You just can't beat the location, room size, and price.
- Maree (8/5): Hotel is above centre of Lagos - The staff were friendly and helpful. It was great having front room facing the water and overlooking town square. Did not find it noisy. Loved breakfast on rooftop in the mornings. It was good to be given a free palking card for the nearby parking station.
- Garth (10/5): Really good everything - we were very happy - A fairly new building and our room had three opening doors/Windows that are double insulated. Very large room/apartment on the third floor with great views of the square and of water! This was the best queen size bed we've ever slept in and great pillows, too! Air conditioned, which we didn't need in May. And very quiet as the music in the square stops at 10pm.
Had really good cooked breakfasts each day, on the top floor, overlooking the marina.
We would definitely stay here again -in a flash!
- Patrick (10/5): perfect accommodation - This was our second trip to Lagos but first time staying at inns seventies. We had a lovely time and the location couldn't have been better. Everything, restaurants, shops and beach were on our doorstep. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again.
- Stephen (6/5): Lack of staff at hotel and an old town area with b - Inn Seventies no longer serve breakfast outside the high season, without giving any notice. This is a poor show and is in keeping with an overall impression of a lack of staffing at the hotel. The delightful old town area of Lagos is badly let down by the authorities, who allow beggars to make a nuisance of themselves and Eastern European criminals to sell drugs openly.
- Andrea (10/5): Best choice in Lagos - Inn Seventies and Lagos ... it has been the bedt choice. The location is right in the center of historical Lagos. The rooms are large, clean and have a chic design. And not to forget the super friendly staff. The only thing missing was the roof terrace and the service there. They open the bar on the roof with the small pool and a superb view only for summer, which I totally understand. All in all .... best choice.
- Christopher (8/5): Inn Seventies, Lagos, Portugal - An excellent 5 night break in a large apartment overlooking the main square. Rooms had individual wi-fi.
- Michael (8/5): All positives from Inn Seventies - A late change of plan left us in need of accommodation in Lagos - and a choice of location (Marina) or price (outskirts). Happily we spotted Inn Seventies which ticked both boxes - great value for money and only beaten by the busker in the square below for being the most central spot in the town.
Room had 2 comfy armchairs, table and 4 dining chairs, microwave and Nespresso machine. Bed comfy, shower good, breakfast on rooftop excellent (flawless omelettes cooked to order).
Only slight negatives were that the advertised UK TV channels have disappeared and the plastic undersheet on the bed doesn't quite fit! Minor gripes though, outweighed by the location and the general experience - would happily return in the future.
- Curt (10/5): Fantastic place at the center - Took the largest room, had the usual Europe expectations of a large closet that hopefully had a view. The room was enormous, big enough to have a very large party in with incredible views of the main square and views all the way to the beach with floor to ceiling windows that opened up as though they were balconies. There was a mini kitchen with good complimentary wine. Bed was comfortable. Despite being right next to the main square when you closed up the windows it was quiet enough.
The room was ridiculous for just one person, but I would probably take it again just for the views. Well worth the cost.
- Stephen (8/5): Most convenient hotel in Lagos - There simply isn't a more convenient hotel in Lagos. Out through the front door and into the streets and alleys, filled with shops, restaurants and bars.
The rooftop pool and breakfast area are delightful too. Fabulous location.
- Jennette (8/5): A toych of luxury - We stayed in Lagos for 3 nights while we were travelling around Portugal and were delighted with Inn Seventies. Although a little more attention to cleanliness could be observed, the deluxe double suite we booked was very luxurious and we received complimentary drinks (wine, water, coffee), tv and a divine shower! Staff were lovely and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. I particularly wnjored the view over the town and marina. We were located on one of the main squares and noise was not a problem at all. However, we did stay there at the end of April so was essentially off season. Highly recommended to a very central and comfortable place to stay with a touch of luxury
- Tracy (10/5): Great location for shops, food, beach ... - We have just returned from a great week. Inn Seventies is a great place to stay. Right in the heart of Lagos. The rooms are large and clean. the roof top breakfast has lots of choice and such a beautiful setting to start your day. Anna is very helpful and always around if you need help.
It is 5 mins walk from the free car park into the town. 10 mins walk to the beach. 10 mins walk to train station where you can travel to Faro / Portimao. There are boat trips and lovely costal walks.
We hired a car but you could stay for a week and not need one.
There are so many restaurants, shops, cafes, it is a beautiful city.
Top tip ;- If you are hiring a car from the airport do your reserch as to where to park to access Lagos. You cannot drive in as its car free so you need to find the car park and do the short walk in. Not a problem once you get your bearings.
Only negative is dont expect a swimming pool on the roof it is just a paddling pool, but gives a lovely setting for breakfast and when you go up in the evening for a drink and people watch - great fun !!!
- Ann Marie (8/5): Inn Seventies - I liked it. I wasn't in love with Lagos as a town, but I felt this was the best place to stay there. Perfectly located. Nice people running it. Efficient. Easy. Plenty of space. Cute.
- Angela (10/5): Right in the heart of Lagos - Perfect in every way, loved every minute of our weekend here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location in center of town - Great location - convenient as it's in the center of town, shopping restaurants.
Nice breakfast on top floor with OpenView of town.
Five minutes walk to Marina and sightseeing boats
Very modern clean room - huge
w desk, couch,
microwave, mini refrig coffee maker and kettle and kitchen sink area.
Bathroom slightly small for my taste
Narrow staircase but there is an elevator to take you upstairs
My shower had a plugged up drain that they worked very hard to fix... And they did. Nice people !
- Verified traveler (10/5): I had a very pleasure stay, - The hotel was on the centre of Lagos , the two girls working there are very helpfull and friendly
We had the top floor with the pool for ourself after hours what we did enjoyed very much having
a sun downs with wine and snaks
I do think thy should have more cutlery and glass on the room
I can not say anything bed about this hotel is was like been in your own what a pleasure
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent - Excellent location, rooms, staff, food and drinks.
