• Mary (6/5): Strong Pot Smell shabby room - We arrived very late - 2am. I called on the phone and the staff let us in. First impression was BAD. Lobby was dirty and the entire floor smelled like pot and a very strong perfume that maybe was used to try to cover up the pot smell. Also, 3 police cars were in the parking lot when I arrived. The room appeared clean but bathroom door and paint were worn & rusty. The smoke detector was covered with what looked like dried wet paper towels or something . I'm not sure if that meets fire code. I'm assuming it was that way because of the pot smoking but it was a no smoking room. I was kind of grossed out by the initial problems- police, terrible smell, dirt, rust & broken bathroom door, that I never really felt comfortable. But we didn't have any other issues with our stay.
• TinaM (4/5): The smell was awful - Upon entering our room, there is a strong unpleasant smell. The smell seem to be coming from the couch, I’m sure somebody urinated on it. The tile and the door trim in the bathroom needed paint and repair. As we were packing to leave, I noticed that there was a dead bug on the sheets. There were also ants crawling on our belongings. I immediately laundered all of our clothes and disinfected our bags when we got home. I wasn’t really comfortable with the group of men drinking beer right outside our window either
• Thomas (2/5): - The room did not have working air conditioning, the water never got Hot, The Tv was very small, and you could not get a good channel. The bed was lumpy and small. The desk was way to tall compared to the chairs. The pillows on the bed were small couch pillows, Not a pleasant or comfortable stay. When we first walked into room it smelled like tobacco, and the side of the bed by the wall smelled like dog. We had booked and paid for two nights, but only stayed for one. Would like a refund for one night. Staff was very pleasant and tried to be helpful.

Had planned to cook eggs, but no pan & stove didn't turn on. Disappointing as I didn't realize you would have to bring everything. Pointless when traveling. Room was very large, beds comfortable & nice hot shower.

The T.V in my room remote didnt work at first and everything on the tv was in spanish. Not everyone that stays in the hotel speaks/reads spanish.
• Dee Dee (2/5): - I’m trying to call the number that is listed on Expedia for the property. It is not accurate after being on hold for eight minutes it disconnects you at arriving at the property. The manager tells me that the proper number is on the card at the desk. I tell him that does mean no good when I live three hours away and cannot contact the property. The property is in desperate need of repair. We had other guests in other rooms. They did not even have a hairdryer so they had to dry their hair over the air conditioner in their room the counters in our room or very old stained and had horrible marks on them. The couch in our room had stains, tears, and paint on them. The coffee table if you want to call it that I think a five year-old could’ve put it together better and I don’t know that I would’ve even set a cup on it. The towels in the bathroom looks like they came from the dollar store. They did not match. We’re very thin and very small. The hallways smelled musty and old. I saw housekeeping’s mop bucket, and it look like the color of coffee and not the nice latte like espresso, black coffee, and she was continuing to floors in the room with it. The manager on properly, he is very rude. There is no staff at night so if your key does not work or you lose it, go sleep in your car. I had tried to call the number on the business card for the hotel in the middle of the night as there were people sleeping outside on the sidewalkand there was no answer and the front desk is locked up.
• Simplistic1 (2/5): Horrible. Rude manager room is disgusting. - We booked the hotel and it was horrible from start to finish. The rooms are disgusting. The manager is horribly rude. Not sure if he’s the owner. The hotel is very rundown and musty smelling. On a positive note the maintenance guy is fabulous and very friendly as he had to fix things in the room. I would not suggest walking around the room, barefoot as your feet will stick to the carpeting. There is no elevator. They do not assist you with anything when checking in or checking out. There were people camping in the hallways for hours. Not sure if there were guests or if they just enjoyed sitting in the hallway. There were people having tailgate parties and sleeping out in the parking lot. I would not suggest staying there. We paid over $140 for one night and for that we could’ve stayed somewhere better. There is no staff at night so if you have any issues or get locked out of your room, there is nobody to call as we did try calling in the middle of night for some issues on property and nobody answered. The phone number is online. Do not reach the property Told by the manager that Google and Expedia automatically put those numbers on and that is not the number to the hotel as he handed me a cord with the proper number and I asked him what was that going to do me when I’m trying to call the property before I arrive.

• Kristine (10/5): - Only 10 quick minutes away from Mystic Lake Event Center for our event. The room was Hot (mid July) when we 1st arrived and Quickly cooled off with the AC unit. Having a fridge with freezer was important to us... we had some difficulties with it not being truly COLD, but it was more chilled than our cooler until we got the settings right.

• Lynette (4/5): - I knew I was booking a budget hotel but this place had the highest rating of all the local hotels in the area. I have to admit I was skeptical but reserved it anyway. We got there and our nonsmoking room did not smell terrible with the air on but we had to walk through a smoke filled hallway to get there. The two bath towels were so thin they barely dried us after our shower. one of them was dirty. The shower curtain was also dorty. We had gone out and when we returned and were taking showers we didn’t want to have to get dressed and call the front desk. The room is uniquely furnished with a nice fridge and stove- however no ice bucket, nothing in the cabinets to use on the stove- no silverware, cookware- nothing to clean anything with. It really doesn’t make sense to have the amenities that you can’t use. The bed was not great- but again I wasn’t expecting super comfort. Overall I’d give it a 2 at best. I paid 120.00. The next night it was 49.00- go figure.

• Robert (6/5): - My room and the hotel smelled a little funky. I didn’t eat breakfast any of the days I was there. The hotel is old but I just needed a place to sleep. There is no way my wife would have stayed with me at the hotel, but it was 1/2 the price as others. It was still worth it for me and the money I saved. It had great access to the highway and was easy on and off.
• Thomas (4/5): - This property could use a lot of TLC. Rooms have been updated, however they are still very shabby and run down. The entire property could use an update! The site needs a good deep cleaning, carpets, windows , walls and common areas. On the positive, it is quiet. The staff was responsive and knowledgeable. It is obviously a place for construction workers and transient residents, which is okay, however they also deserve upgraded, clean and updated facilities. Of note, the TV is the smallest ever, maybe 25 or 30 inch!

• Vickie (4/5): A place to sleep. - I was not a fan of the bed, as it was quite uncomfortable. Thankfully, I brought my own pillow because there were only two pillows on each bed and they were flat. I woke up in a fair amount of pain. Other than that everything seemed clean and in working order. We had plenty of towels, and the air conditioning worked.

• Kailey (2/5): Worst Hotel Ive Ever Stayed In - Worst hotel Ive ever stayed in. Very dirty and run down, sheets were yellow, bathtub wouldnt drain when I was showering, every fixture had dirt on them. There were people yelling in the middle of the night, doors slamming, someone tried to open our door in the middle of the night. We actually decided to leave at 1 in the morning because we felt very unsafe and had to check in at a different hotel. Overall the worst experience Ive ever had.

• Charisse (4/5): - I had bugs in my bathroom. They gave me a different room from the first floor when I brought up broken furniture. I am missing my watch. They were nice about not charging me for the broken room, when I was more concerned about the fact they gave me a room with broken furniture. I usually travel with a hair dryer but didn’t since most hotels have them. No hair dryer. It is dog friendly but I had dogs barking in four different rooms near me. It had a kitchen but nothing in the drawers or shelves to cook with. I was a short stay but thought of leaving just for health reasons.

• Verified traveler (4/5): Find somewhere else! Should have read the reviews! - Paid for a King room with a kitchenette. Received a queen room with a kitchenette, not that big a deal. However, when we checked into the room and checked said room came to find that while yes there was a kitchenette there was also nothing that came with it. No dishes, no pots or pans, not even silverware that we could use. All of the other hotels that I have stayed at, that offered kitchenettes, also offered some cookware and dishes of some sort. I travel a lot for work so this was quite the surprise. Also to note that the hotel had a very strange smell that started in the lobby and continued upstairs and down the hallways. Not a place I will be staying at again.

• Jonathan (10/5): Affordable for snocross event - Good stay. Was a good time. Easy access to event and restaurants. All in all. If your looking for a place to sleep, while your at a event all day. Great affordable place.
• Haleigh (2/5): - It says the front desk is open 24/7. We got to the hotel at 2am, and the doors were locked. There’s a phone sitting there to call for front desk help, and I used that multiple times with no prevail. Thankfully another guest had let us into the lobby so we could wait and avoid the cold. Thankfully it was booked through Expedia. After an hour of waiting, somebody finally showed up to check us in. The room we got was dirty, freezing, and the door looked like somebody had kicked it in recently. After telling them that we will not be staying in that room due to safety concerns, the front desk ‘upgraded’ us to a ‘suite’ for the inconveniences. The suit was definitely not my definition of a suite. The next morning we left at 9 and there was still nobody at the front desk to check people in.

• Nicholas (2/5): - I am a traveling poker dealer. I am in a new city every month. I am originally from Flint, MI, I have stayed in some bad hotels. This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. There are bugs in my room (mostly fruit flies but I also saw a roach run underneath my refigerator). The floors are disgusting, I dared to step off the bed without my socks on and my feet literally stuck to the carpet. I ordered a pizza last night and tried to heat up the leftovers in the microwave, but they came out smelling very weird, like the microwave is dirty. When people in the other room use the toilet, I can smell it in my room. I went down to the desk to ask for another room, but I checked in at 9:50 pm and the desk closed at 10. I have already cut my losses. I’m just hoping my review will save someone else the inconvenience of staying in this absolutely disgusting hotel. They need a health inspector here ASAP!!!

Amenities were non existent and I'm pretty sure pets can stay in all the rooms since my allergies kicked off as soon as I walked in the door. We did not request a room for a pet. Shower curtain blows on your body in shower so quite annoying and complimentary coffee and donuts don't start until 8:00. Really, most people are gone by 8:00. Pretty Lame overall.
• MNCampingMom (4/5): Great location - Great location next to Canterbury. Stayed for one night after a concert at Canterbury. The rooms are spacious and clean but dated. It was nice having a full size fridge for our late night snacks. This place is nothing fancy but works for a night or two. Parking lot is full of construction workers who probably stay here for extended times. They were visibly doing drugs in the parking lot but did not cause us any trouble. Would stay here again due to the location.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Average for the price - The bed was very uncomfortable. We stayed on the first floor so it was very noisy especially with the refrigerator that was in the room. There was a big stain in the sick as well. Other then that everyone was friendly.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Family Gathering - The room was nice. Although it's a suite, if you want to cook anything, you need to bring your own pans, utensils, plates, etc. Everything worked well. The front desk person was very helpful, even helping me find a restaurant that some friends had recommended. We would stay there again. There is no breakfast, but McDonald's is walking distance. Nice size refrigerator with a freezer.

After 10 PM; the counter area has a garage door style roll down door that stays down. We left this morning at 8 am and it was still down.

Will more then likely stay again
