There were no platters or salad bowls. No small water glasses. A laundry but no drying rack, no broom, dust. No iron or ironing board.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Spacious little gem. - Loved this apartment. It was spacious for a one bedroom unit. Kitchen was well appointed and also spacious even if the bench top was a tad well used. Fantastic view. Very quiet inside noise on the level which was surprising. Bathroom was so clean! Loved that it had been re-tiled thrugg out, even the bedroom. One of our favourite stays. We will be back.

- Rosalie (8/5): - The property was very conveniently located, only a minute walk to the beach and Broadbeach Mall. Spa had strong jets and was heated. Pool also seemed to be heated a bit. Bed and pillows were firm but didn't have any trouble getting to sleep. Water pressure in shower was good. .

Noise of the traffic was annoying throughout the day if you plan on staying indoors to work etc. Couldn't keep the front sliding door open due to noise traffic noise.

It had everything we needed but the only let down was that the ceiling fans didn’t work very well in the living areas. There was aircon though so it wasn’t a big issue. Located within steps of a myriad of food and dining options, we loved this resort and will definitely be back.

- Jenny (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised, the property was very, very good. Our difficulties arose from parking to organise late access, our car was in the way. Finding the entrance to the building once we had parked as the lift needs better marking. We never moved the car until we left and we never discovered how to open the garage, one of us went back through the building and used the fob on the outside. Minor issues but not good when you are tired. The apartment was so good wre may go again next year but for 8 days rather than 3.

It’s also very close to shopping and restaurants. So it is in an excellent position and a great place to stay.

Walk to everything, Restaurants, pub, surf club, casino. We had front beach and pool view appartment, good during day, but noisy at nights from traffic and the daily 3am street sweeper! Block out curtains for bedroom would be a worthwhile improvement.

- Bill (10/5): - We stayed in what I believe is the lowest priced unit in the complex. The building is old and to some extent that age shows. However, the value for money is outstanding. The location is amazing. There are even filtered views of the ocean through the native pine trees in the park that separates the Sandpiper from the beach. I believe the upper floor units have stunning views. Not one to stare at the ocean for hours, I'd rather save $100 per night. We were right next to the spa/pool which suited us fine. The complimentary toiletries were pretty basic, but at the price and location I would not complain.I guess we beat the Xmas rush, but apparently the place was booked solid. It was relaxed and uncrowded. Relatively quiet for its location. It was walking distance to nice restaurants, and the spa was fine. Everything was tidy. Felt just like a serviced apartment from decades ago. I suppose it depends on what you are after. You might like to stare at the ocean for hours on end. (If so and you are on a budget, book higher up or walk down to the beach). I am sure there are flasher places on the GC. You might like a 24-hour concierge service. You might like a room that looks like it was built by the winners of The Block. You might like an unlimited supply of toilet paper included. If so, perhaps this is not your place. If you want outstanding location, friendly service, in a clean, comfortable, laid back unit, I could not recommend the Sandpiper more highly.

- Mel (4/5): - The best part was the location, so close to everything and the pool and outdoor area was lovely. What was disappointing was the unit we stayed in was so old and dated. The T.V was terrible, the fridge was so loud buzzing through the night and there was no air conditioning.

- Steve (6/5): - Negatives:- The place is 20 years old and needs to be refurbished badly. The owner has not spent a cent on this place (unit 9) and obviously doesn't inspect the unit. Vanity unit coming away from wall. Brown Stains in bath. Cracked tiles in bath room. Holes in curtain linings I couldn't get the TV to work. Holes in door screen. Little things like there was no salt and pepper shakers or satchels available. Positives:- The onsite manager was lovely. lovely clean linen.

- Verified traveler (2/5): - Sorry, unit 23 does not in anyway meet expectations of good value for money nor does it match the representation of the apartment complex on wotif. It is in dire need of an upgrade. All amenities in the apartment were completely out of date. The walls and doors are scuffed and marked, the cupboards in the bathroom are flaking, the tiles are lifting in the kitchen, the beds are old, uncomfortable and just awful, the fans are rusted and the light/fan in the bedroom kept turning on for no reason. Honestly, this unit cannot in anyway meet the standards required to hire it out. I'm pretty easy going but had to be honest on this review. Even the window coverings were ratty, stained and looked like they haven't been changed over for 20 years. Whoever the owner is, they should be ashamed that they haven't invested in their property.

The room is very clean and well stocked. Wifi connection is fast and strong. Easy to get to the Gold Coast airport by Skybus (the bus stops at the entrance of the hotel). To Brisbane airport, you could take tram (7 minutes by walking), then transfer to Airtrain. The bed is very comfortable. Lots of TV channels. I really enjoyed my stay there. Will definitely come back to this nice hotel in future.
