Guest Reviews
- Ritesh (10/5): - View nice locations, nice service
- yaser (4/5): - Rooms have mist odor, beds are uncomfortable, bathroom is way outdated floor is unsafe, air conditioning is barley working
Many insects bites while sleeping
- Mona (8/5): - Every morning breakfast was really good. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
- Mona (8/5): - Staff was very friendly enjoyed staying there helpful and shopping list walking distant I don’t mind going back there
- Bruce (10/5): - It was close to beach and pool was excellent
- Deborah (10/5): - Beautiful hidden spot. Great excuse to do nothing but relax just what we needed. Restaurant to eat and drink in with great prices. Would love to come back with friends.
- Jarred (10/5): - Always stay at Bakung Beach Resort when in transit on surf trips. Cheap, always clean, safe and secure, never had anything go missing, nice pool. For the price I can’t fault it. The staff have always been helpful and friendly.
- Faitalia (10/5): - Nice and cozy
- Jaida (10/5): - Thank you so much! Was lovely staying here, I wish I had found yall sooner!
- Samantha (4/5): - This was an old hotel that needs upgrades. Have to walk stairs to room. Times missing and old to pool.
It’s run down.
Bathroom door wouldn’t shut.
It’s ok for the price. Reminds me of old motels in Australia. We stayed in 5 star hotels prior to this: so don’t expect the same.
We didn’t stay overnight, but booked to spend the day in Kuta prior to midnight flight. Showered and then home.
- John (4/5): - Cancelled my booking! I booked 2 nights so i could check in early rather than wait for a 2pm check in. Cancelled my booking as thought I was a no show. At time of booking even had conversation through Expedia to hotel to NOT cancel my booking. Luckily they werent full, so I could still get a room. Learn to understand what your customer is seeking!!!
- Anthony John (6/5): - The hotel was okay, but they'd closed the poolbar and one wing was under constant renovation which was quite loud.
- silvana (4/5): - Considero que el lugar es sucio, las toallas olian muy mal y no las cambian durante l estancia, los baños sucios y con muy mal olor. Buena atención pero las condiciones del hotel muy sucias.
- Lynne (8/5): - For the price it was ok. Had to change rooms due to ammonia smell from the bathroom. Next room was better, but found mould on the curtains and walls. Had a kettle - but no coffee, tea or cups so we could make our own. Breakfast was a bit repetitive each morning. Pool was great, but pool bar wasn't being used. Location was good with eateries, bars and shopping mall in a short walk away. Overall it looked a bit tired, but you get what you pay for.
- Chaiya (8/5): - Nice budget place to stay for my first night
- Zin (6/5): - Overall not bad for a budget hotel.
- Gaius (8/5): - It's close to the airport.
- Ross (6/5): - Old but clean hotel with nice pool and garden
- Brian (8/5): - Great staff good location
- hans-dieyer (4/5): - I'm sorry would never come here again. The cleaning is the worst I have ever seen. Bathroom had mould everywhere. The sheets on bed are torn, staffleft door unlocked after what they called cleaning. The pool area was sutch bad condition brocken decking with nials sticking out holes which I fell twice. The worst I have ever seen. Have photos to back up statement.
- Rachel (8/5): Lovely pool, awesome staff - I really like this hotel for a cheap accommodation option. The rooms are basic but clean and include TV with movie channels. the staff are fantastic, super friendly and helpful. I've stayed here 3 times in the past and can thoroughly recommend - but do request a room close to the pool!!
- Brian (10/5): Bargain Hotel - Pool is nice, Bargain price and close to Beach and Shops
- Susan (6/5): - Bakung Beach Resort was very quiet and on a good location. We were able to hire bicycles over the road
- Christopher (8/5): A good choice in Kuta/Denpasar - This is a good place to stay in Kuta, a large area with many many rooms , most opening on to the gardens or poolside areas. And an excellent breakfast/restaurant/room service setup too. Walkable distance from the airport ( without too much baggage) Very competent staff, excellent ( deep) swimming pool ...
- Ross (2/5): - The hotel was not clean, the air-conditioning leaking, we returned back to hotel from day trip, and our bedroom door was left unlocked from the cleaning crew. One bedroom the did not replace the top dooner and cover. Not worth the money. The internet was also very poor.
- Suellen Salmom Dos (10/5): - It was a great experience. Everything clean, king staff and good breakfast. I recommend it.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Pretty bad experience. We just wanted somewhere to sleep as we had days completely booked out. Arrived at 9pm at night and left for another hotel by 8am the following morning. The bathroom was moldy. The light flickered even when it was turned off. No safe in the room and place didnt feel secure. Buffet breakfast was terrible. The pool was run down with tiles missing from the stairs. Such a hazard. We arent fussy people but this was next level. Absolutely nothing like the images. Dont recommend.
- Blair (2/5): Not a happy Tourist - Changed room three times as air conditioning was horrible. Wifi was also just about non existant unless you are in public areas.
One lady in the eating area was always rude.
I left after 1 night with no credits for nights paid for.
Horrible experience
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was not clean
The breakfast was terable
The staf were angry
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff were lovely. Bathrooms and pools could do with better tidying and litter picking around rooms.
- Laksh (2/5): - Terrible food
Dirty place
No safety locks
Door lock broken
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Quiet convenient locaction. Would stay here again but my room had mould in bathroom
- Kathryne (8/5): Pleasant Stay - Nice Bali charm, pool is great & close to beach and supermarket. Wifi in our room was not the best but others had no complaints. All staff were nice, front desk could use some customer service training. Breakfast was basic but good, they could use a “Happy Hour” around the pool area but overall a very pleasant stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Pool closed too early
Breakfast average and below
Gardens great
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Best location nice pool big rooms stagf is friendly resonable price
- GEOFFREY (8/5): Relaxing spot hidden from mainstream tourists - Good stay and met expectations . Room occupied by a friend and she always lives this hotel - a simple place to relax in peace and quiet with beautiful gardens. Rooms are basic but adequate.
- GEOFFREY (10/5): dont miss this fantastic place - great spot to be as is walking distance from airport [15 mins], central to south kuta and the lippo mall which has great evening entertainment. the hotel is 1990's and older but has great pool, a bar and brilliant staff. the breakfast is simple and the rooms basic but airconditioned, flat screen TV and a shower / toilet combo. The rooms are large and with a refrigerator. good value and a nice quiet location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It is in need of repair bathrooms are not good showers not working properly drains not working needs basic plumbing work done
- Tara&Brandon (10/5): - didnt like the 200,000 late check out fee.
loved ur breakfast menu.
lived close location to lippo mall
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Love the atmosphere, it's so homie and peaceful. Definitely will book again when I come to Bali.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location; ambient, green, leafy environment.
- Mandy (4/5): - The hotel was contacted about the need for a ground floor and we were happy to pay extra for this ..we were put on top floor though we asked several times to be moved as suggested by them no luck..
6 sunbeds for a large hotel is not enough its was all clean but shabby furniture also no safes available for guests.. its a shame really cos if some money spent on it could be great.you would be better to spend a little more money and get a lot better quality the photos on the website are either very old or enhanced
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A budget hotel that I have stayed at before, it ticks the boxes for all my needs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet and pleasant. Good value for the price. Attractive garden and pool
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to beach, shops and airport. Friendly staff. Room was older but clean and adequate for my 2 week stay. Would definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Location is ok. Showers dont work, air con did not work beds are worn out. No lift must climb stairs not cool
When you have bags. Overall very cheap hotel in every way
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We are a family of 4 and was given 3 rooms so that was awesome..
Rooms are big and clean bathrooms are ok but 1 bathrooms shower head broken so no shower for him but having 3 rooms was ok used ours .
NO lifts and being on top floor was a mission for older people but kids loved it . To far for older people to walk to Kuta beach maybe 20 mins ? Only 8 mins by car . Lovely food and friendly staff.
Lovely pool but a bit hard for older people to get in or out of , rails would help .
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff, was great, felt safe with my belongings, pool and grounds keeper well, great position next to the mall, for the price, can’t go wrong I 💭, the worst thing, was a old materesss
- Verified traveler (4/5): - So this wasn’t the worst hotel I’ve stayed at, but it was pretty rough. The staff was awesome and the location wasn’t bad! However, I assumed from the pictures there’d be a bar, and there was but, I didn’t see if manned once in three days. The worst part about my stay was the smell, my bathroom smelt so bad all the time it was almost unbearable.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - When I arrived to the room, you could smell the dampness in the room, there was water on the floor and mold on the wall
The sheets were dirty. they did give me another room which was a bit better but it did put a downer on my holiday. The pool wasn't the best and there was not much variety in the food. The pictures online made the place look So much better but the place did not look like that.
I even made calls to other motels the next day but not much was available and what was available would of cost me to much.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Nothing horrible sewage smell not staff to serve you anything. Cleaning staff awesome. Pool a lot of broken tiles not safe for kids. A nasty rash from pool water
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bed bugs, no ground floor available even though 5 e-mails were sent with no reply, mouldy rooms. But, for $28 per night, who am I to complain?
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It is an ok hotel in Kuta. Good amenity. Close to the beach and market place.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was run down and very unclean .would never stay again
- Sar (6/5): - What we liked-
The Pool and the gardens
Breakfast was ok.
What we didnt like-
The BATHROOM!
The lack of towels
Very old linen
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I often stay here. Its great. Close to everything, clean and very friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - great staff and very friendly. Property is old and needs attention but is value for money
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Old hotel small pool pool lounges broken and not enough for guest breakfast bad no cereal 3 hot dishes 2 small plates of fruit that was only enough for 4serves than took about 10 mins to replace we booked for 8 days left after 4 you get what you pay for definitely not for family’s with kids the pool was so chlorinated that it felt like sand in your eyes if opened under water
- Terence (8/5): Great location incredible price! - its a very starting point for any Bali holiday so close to airport and so cheap but comfortable with good facilities at the front door to hotel ,first went here 20 years ago and it hasnt changed a lot and is good value for money.
- Mark (4/5): - The room we were put in was very basic and the bathroom was disappointing. Had loud people yelling and moving furniture around all through the night. We stayed the one night and checked into somewhere else.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good for the price, would stay again, very basic, breakfast was basic
- Joey (10/5): - Wonderful budget hotel nearby the airport; we walked here from the airport and it took about 15-20 minutes. The pool is clean and relaxing, menu is decently priced, but the breakfast could be elevated. The room was surprisingly big with a private balcony. The only negative is that there were small ants on the floor, but it wasn't a huge problem at all for me. Showers warm, comfy bed, and a friendly staff. Next to a shopping complex and vendors. Would highly recommend for the price and location.
- Claire (4/5): - ****BE AWARE -most of the positive reviews wrote by their staff..and that's how we were ended up here also.
Very old hotel, nothing like the photo on internet or website. Very nasty smell from the drain just beside the room corridor. So everytime we walk in to the room have to hold the breathing to avoid that horrible smell and same smell could be found in tap water also. The water cattle they put at our room was with a thick layer of brownish slimy dirt. They even didn't bother to clean it before...
Now the breakfast is a big disappointment. 3 to 4 items if that's what called buffet breakfast then no say.
The pool is not like the picture at all. Poor maintenance and you can see the stain underneath.
Only one good thing I can say is the location, convenient enough.
- Kiran (8/5): Comfortable stay. - Comfortable big room. Clean. Next to shops and mall. Helpful staff.
- Aika (10/5): - Nice environment of hotel, close to the beach and also very nearby to a mall. Very convenient
- jinky (10/5): - Amazing staff. Walking distance from the beach and the malls its nice and worth what we paid for we will definitely come back
- Doug (8/5): - Have stayed before. Stayed at Bakungs for 20 days. Nice clean rooms. Cold A/C. Clean bathroom even though hot water comes on and off. Foxtel is a bonus. Breakfast is basic but nice and fresh. Staff very friendly. Only complaint was no shower curtain around shower, so everything got wet. looking forward to staying again.
- Jinky (10/5): - Mall is close shopping centers are walking distance
- Helen (8/5): - Close to airport as we stay only 8 hours , close to beach and shops
- Max (2/5): - The rooms were VERY basic, really tired, linen was stained, wall fittings lose, walls threadbare (we could hear neighbours tunring their lights on), mould all around the sink, and in the tiles in the bathroom. Bathroom was a breeding ground for mosquitos.
Booked hotel as it looked lovely on line, and some reviews said good for families - turns out their idea of a family are a 50+ couple who spend all day round pool smoking...yuk.
Supposed to be 'beacah hotel, the nearest beach was a five minute walk through a disgusting littered empty lot and beach was appalling.
Pool was okay, however, the pool bar was never manned, tiles missing and sunbeds were in a dreadful state of repair.
Just shocking, very
- Alexander (8/5): A delightful old-school resort near beach - Walking distance from airport: about 20mn by foot, very easy! Don't be fooled by transport touters who tell you passengers can not leave the airport on foot, their aim is to make you pay USD30 for a 1KM drive. This resort with faded charm is located at the southern end of the bustling part of Kuta. There are still enough businesses in the neighborhood to keep one busy in every way, and the center of Kuta is only 10mn away by foot. Segara beach is 5mn by foot. The rooms are quite old and the lighting dim, but still quite liveable and there's a balcony with furniture. There's a small pool, and the lush garden is nice for a little stroll. A simple buffet breakfast is served at the covered open-air cafe by the pool.
- Theresia Dorothea (8/5): - Is ok, but no time I would like to have my room near the pool instead .
- Lorraine (8/5): Excellent budget hotel. - Very good budget hotel located in area close to airport. Big shopping mall next door as well as restaurants, salons and other shops near by.
Nice big clean room with veranda.
Great swimming pool. Breakfast was ok.
Recommend.
- Mel (10/5): - Great place to call home when on a budget. I will be back.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I like it's location. The hotel is near commercial and beach areas. The rooms need refurbishments especially the CR. The pool is very nice. The food they serve should breakfast is ok but I recommend for them to explore other menu.
- Mark (8/5): Great value for the price - I had a nice stay. The room I had was recently refurbished and was very good. Wifi worked well in my room. The water was hot. And breakfast wasn't bad for the price. Tv had lots of cable channels. And the pool is very nice.
- dave (6/5): - budget and cheap. dont expect the earth. nice pool area and ok breakfast, remember your in a twenty-thirty dollar hotel, not a resort. everything is good enough for a small, but older hotel. safe area and short walk to the beach.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - was given preferred room confirmation months prior - arrived nd was shunted into sub-standard room
- Pete (4/5): A bit disappointed this time. - I have stayed at this hotel several times before and think there standards have slipped. Breakfast is not as good. No bacon. While not the hotels fault, barking dogs next door at all hours was annoying. Bought our own insect spray at supermarket as ther were mosquitoes and a few cockroaches in the room.
Staff were always very polite and friendly.
- karen (2/5): Terrible - Rude staff at reception. No pool towels..face washers..hand towel or bath mat provided. Towels wer small and smelly.
Breakfast ok.
Kitchen and room staff polite.
Eaten by bed bugs..now have scares on my legs.
- Dave (6/5): cheap but ok - cheap hotel but nice pool and grounds. rooms fairly basic but clean, hot water and a/c. breakfast simple but ok . short walk to the beach
- Verified traveler (2/5): Drunk Russians in the pool - Drunk russians are ruining this formerly lovely quiet hotel. Staff do nothing to quieten them down, just let them behave like strippers hooked and pimps. Shouting screaming, drunken cackling. This place like many others is ruined by Russians
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff were very friendly. Close to all facilities & beach
- Mike (8/5): Close to beach and airport. Beautiful pool area, - Friendly staff, good breakfast and very nice pool area. Close to the airport, beach & next door to the mall. Low cost, Overall 7/10
- Verified traveler (8/5): - always happy there
- Deb (4/5): Right next to a new shopping mall - 2 nights and three days from arrival without air conditioning could not be fixed on the Saturday due to Hindu holiday by the third day asked to change rooms after my daughter and I at 1 AM in the morning Asked to sleep in an empty room due to the heat next day wasted moved to new room 3 PM just not good enough Had been given a small dirty fan only worked on one speed
- david (8/5): Nice hotel close to beach - Cheap. Pleasant. Cultural. Very pretty. Rooms are older style but toilet shower aircon all worked.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Rough - The pictures are deceiving - 'hotel' is nothing like the pictures!
- Helmut , Claire (10/5): Beautiful Stay! - We HAD à beautiful stay. Good location, close to the Beach. Very friendly personnel.
Délicious buffet breakfast. Clean rooms.
Thank YOU.!
- Helene (6/5): Dont expect too much you get what you pay for - Breakfast was good. We had a great time everything is within walking distance got to know the locals. Food at the local stalls was delicious no Bali belly for me.
- Cal (4/5): Nice garden. Not so helpful staff - Could not help with simple request such as a fork to eat dinner. My transfer for my next hotel called Bakung to confirm pickup. And Bakungs Beach house told them I am not on the property (twice). They were not aware of my presence which is a serious problem in case of emergency (fire etc)
Overall they are lucky with a 2/5 rating
- Trevor (2/5): Dont stay here - Upon arrival the receptionist was rude, the room was dirty, the fridge didn't work, some lights didn't work but the worst was the use of hand grinders next door
We booked out and walked up JL Katika plaza booking into Bali green garden, fantastic there!
I have traveled to Bali seven times and never received this poor level of care and service
- mitch (10/5): The location is great and very handy - Rooms have been updated and nice very relaxing spot
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely place to stay. - Excellent place to stay on a budget or not, it is close enough to the beach and has all requirements close by. Pool and hotel facilities excellent for Bali requirements. Lovely staff.
- steve (6/5): Good budget option - Close to busy Kuta, WaterBom, Restaurants, Bars and malls - if that's the Bali experience you are after. Was a good introduction to Bali for the kids.
- GIFT (8/5): Best Money for Value - This is a great 2.5 star hotel bed was super comfy, staff where very attentive and nothing was to much trouble. Nice location it is an older hotel, but I feel I got more than my money's worth. Would definitely stay again.
- james bond (4/5): - pool is way to strong kills the color of clothes can give rash to skin
- tien (4/5): - The whole resort feels old and tired. The room is big, but could use some remodeling. There is no bathtub, the showering area is open to the sink and toilet. Food was tasty and cheap!
- billy blurtguts (6/5): passable for the money - bit rough around the edges, our room was right next to an alley that ran behind a big shopping centre. in that alley was the rubbish area for the mall and it was putrid. wifi was a sick joke, the air cons struggled to keep the room cool, and breakfast consisted of rice and noodles and stuff. no western type food available for breakfast.my advice would be to spend an extra 20 bucks a night and go to one of the flash hotels. but if your feeling stingy and only use the room for sleeping its just fine.
- nanny apple (6/5): Ok hotel - We arrived at 2am checked in. Took us to our room which was up 3 flights of stairs no lifts.
I am unable to climb stairs so asked for ground floor.
We both where shocked by the room.
No coffee or tea just a kettle
Bathroom was all open no shower screen or curtain no dish holders for soap.
No cupboard or storage for toiletries
Very basic room.
Meals were good
Staff friendly
Pool well no marking on pool edge for the depth of pool. Pool tiles broken and pulled away
