• Robert (8/5): Beware large step down while getting out of shower - Everything was fine except the large step to get into the shower combined with a very slippery surface to the shower tray, caused an accident when getting out of the shower.

• Scott (8/5): - The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean. The hotel is dated, but the location is superb. You are literally 200m (probably less) from the terminal. If I was to make the decision again, I would stay in the same hotel.

It turned out it was a bit far to walk in my condition but a Bolt happily came to get us. Quiet and comfortable. Loved the airplane theme. Looks like the Baltic railway will eventually run right next to it.

• Lyle (10/5): Very convenient location for Riga Int'l Airport - The woman that checked us in was so sweet and kind, it set a wonderful tone for our visit. The hotel is walking distance from the terminals at Riga International Airport. My only recommendation would be a sign on the terminal side of the building that said "Sky High".

• Winnie551 (8/5): We would stay here again. - This hotel was an experience. It has Soviet era vibes. It is an easy walk from the terminal. Not the most pleasant surroundings, ie weeds, construction etc but once inside it is very clean. It had a certain charm - ie bright orange towels and a highly decorated restaurant. It is a no frills place, but it is all that you need. What do they say -location,location,location. We were able to have a drink from the fridge in reception and a meal in the restaurant. We thought the meal was good and well priced The staff were very pleasant. I would stay here again if I was taking an early flight.

• Li_and_T (8/5): Exactly what we needed for the night - This was exactly what we needed arriving after 8 PM and leaving at 5 AM. At first we were confused about how to get there but as soon as we figured it out, it was just a short, easy walk right from the terminal. The hotel restaurant was closed but the little cafe near the rental car counters in the airport was actually open until midnight and we got sandwiches and wine there. The hotel also had some items available in a cooler for purchase. Although the hotel was a bit odd, we wound up loving it. The front desk person was very nice and had little snack bags for us. The room just had two twin bed but it was all we needed for a few hours of comfortable sleep. The air conditioner worked well for us, despite reading reviews to the contrary. The shower was efficient. And everything was clean. I put on my eye mask and pretended my little twin bed was a business-class lie-flat seat and I got a good sleep before my early flight.

• John (10/5): - This is a simple but more than adequate airport hotel. Quiet rooms with excellent air conditioning. Excellent access to airport (less than 5 minutes walk). Well priced for a simple 1-night stay, have stayed before and would happily stay again.

• tikicici2 (6/5): Just 300 feets from the terminal , no AC on rooms. - Alert: no AC on the rooms, only heater. I you want any ventilation inside the room, you would need to open the window even int he 1st floor. the kitchen closes at 9pm but the bar is open till 9:30p. the Dinner menu has plenty of fish, chicken, beef, lamb dishes. the portions are big and the breakfast is scrambled eggs, beacon, yogurt, coffee, juice, croissant, ham/cheese, toast with butter and jelly options. way too much, too big but delicious. Dinner and breakfast were ready in @ 10min. the front desk staff is nice. Note: no much English in the country at all, maybe french will help some. The decorations are very pretty and go with the hotel theme.

• David (6/5): Stay only if you have to! - With all the work going on around the airport it was hard to work out which road led to this hotel. There is no parking at the hotel but we were able to unload quickly before returning the rental car. The hotel is dark, dingy and unwelcoming. The room was very small, even by European airport hotel standards! We eventually discovered a bar/ restaurant, the pilots Lounge. The staff seemed surprised to see anyone but the beer was cold and the food later was very good.

• Kent (10/5): Nice hotel - Continental breakfast was surprisingly good. We chose this hotel because it is Very close to the airport. We landed in Riga at around 10:30pm so it was ideal as it is only less than 5-min walk from arrivals. Also, our flight out of Riga was 7:25am so it was really easy to get to the airport for such an early deprture. Staff was nice and the room was clean and just the right size.
• Elizabeth (8/5): Clean airport hotel - Fine for an overnight at the airport. I got in very late so did not get to use the restaurant, though it was open until 10 PM, which is nice. Pleasant and English-speaking front desk and it was very clean. The sign is not visible from the airport but if you cross the parking lots and head toward the right, you will see the tall building that says hotel.

• John (10/5): No-frills but excellent. - The hotel is a short (<5min) walk to the airport. The room had great quality air conditioning, very comfortable sheets, good quality bed and a great shower. This hotel is simple, but we were very impressed with the quality despite the simplicity. We had one pillow and decorative cushion per person, we probably could’ve asked for a second pillow but we chose not to. Very happy with a very simple but comfortable stay!

• vicki762016 (8/5): Airport Hotel 5 min Walk to Terminal - Stayed at this hotel for a night before early morning flight. Bus stop for bus into riga centre just a couple of minutes walk away and departures just 5 min walk. The hotel is really dated and not the best looking building but the bed was surprisingly comfy and room was cosy, great nights sleep had. Check in really quick and straight forward
• Verified traveler (2/5): Sometimes cheap is not the best choice. - The place is close to the airport, but certainly a lower standard. First floor is fully SHARED BATHROOM/TOILET with other units. Small rooms with nothing else included. Service not as friendly either. The cost is low, but I guess that's all I can say good about this business.
• H1400NWdaniels (6/5): Convenient location, that's it - My partner, daughter and I stayed for 1 night in Apr 23 before an early flight. The hotel is conveniently situated a 5 minute walk from Riga Departures. The hotel is very basic, has a bit of an old soviet era vibe about it but they've half tried to jazz up with an airplane theme pictures and memorabilia. Don't expect much more than a cheap place to crash before an early flight. I wouldn't recommend staying longer than 1 night. There is a cheap bus into Riga that cost 1.50 euro that takes about half an hour about 2.mins walk away which was really convenient. However, I was not impressed with the check in, not particularly welcoming and made us feel like we were inconveniencing them when we asked for a cot for the baby. The rooms are quite small so fitting a cot was a bit of a squeeze too. Overall the convenience of location is the best thing about the hotel but I'm surprised there isn't a better option as close to the airport, as it wouldn't be difficult to improve on this.

• Gordon (6/5): Perfect location but in need of refurbishment… - Booked Classic Suite - Room 5. Room was fine but the bed creaked horrendously with every turn which disturbed sleep! Bedsheet was badly fitting and poor quality. Sky High hotel has a prime position within walking distance to Riga airport but it badly needs its beds and rooms to be renovated to a better standard if it wants to avoid losing customers to the new and much nicer Hampton nearby which offers lovely rooms at similar price to Sky High. On a more positive note, staff are friendly and breakfast was very good.

The partially out "Sky High Hotel" lights didn't add to our confidence. However, the reception was good and the room was clean and nice. The "continental breakfast" was huge. It is in easy walking distance to the airport and there is regular bus service from the airport to the Old Town. In the end, it worked well for us.

• retamal1985 (2/5): PROFESSIONAL THIEVES WITH NO SHAME ON THEIR FACES - They gave me a room right where the reception is, and the noises were infinite: people doing check-ins, the receptionist talking, the computer keyboard, the payment machine ringing, etc. I paid 60 euros for this miserable deal. I went out to complain and the girl told me that she couldn't do anything because she only had a super suite left which was more expensive. I told her that I had paid 60 euros for a hotel room where I could rest the few hours I had between flights, and not for a youth hostel or shared room. She said she had no solutions. I asked for a discount for having to be treated that way and put up with all the noise, and she told me that that room had that cost... OK!!! So I said I was going back to the airport and I would spend my remaining 5 hours of sleep there, and SHE REFUSED TO REFUND ME MY MONEY!!! Really??? They are thieves and I am going to see how I can report this situation to official bodies so none else gets cheated.
• Deniss (6/5): - It was a cheep hotel and that is what you are going to get. An ok stay for a low price. Toilet was dripping all nigh, remote control for the tv only kind of worked, gym was just a joke. But the place was clean, staff helpful and it was very affordable.
• Olexandr (10/5): - Proximity to the airport was very important to us, as we had to catch an early morning fight the next day. The hotel is only a stone's throw away from the airport, so that was great! The stuff was very friendly and kind. We enjoyed our stay!

• 808anjak (10/5): Very Convenient - My family of four stayed at the Sky High Hotel for one night in July 2021 before an early morning flight home. We had two adjoining double rooms. The hotel is no luxury resort of course, but is the most convenient airport hotel I have ever stayed at. It is only a few minutes’ walk from the airport and not much further from the rental car drop-off. The rooms were comfortable and the only staff member we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. Our flight was too early for having breakfast at the hotel so the receptionist had packed breakfasts delivered to us in the evening. There were coffee/tea stations in the rooms, so we had breakfast in our room before walking over to the airport to catch our flight. We could not have chosen a more convenient hotel for our last night in Riga.

A very friendly lady on the front desk checked me in and then out again in the morning. Rooms are small but neat, tidy and warm. It’s a 4 min walk to the terminal. Can’t beat the location. Very friendly staff.

• einar_orn_capt (6/5): Overnight stay at airport hotel - The positive is that the hotel is just a walk away from the airport terminal. Took me under 5 minutes to walk there. Was welcomed by a friendly reception lady.. The room : Well.... I was overwhelmed by the smell from air freshener. It was just overpowering. I finally found the source a mounted pump with one of he strongest smell I have ever felt. After opening the window and vented out the room , I managed to go to sleep. The bed was ok. In the morning when I woke up I did understand the purpose of the air freshener. The carpet in the room could tell the story of previous guests. The romm was small but ok. Breakfast was served on a plate. I ate it up , no complains. Coffe was ok too. The hotel is good for transit use. The rooms could use non carpet solutions.
• dominios (2/5): Cold room - no heating - The room was very cold, so I asked the receptionist to switch on the heating and she told me that it wasn't possible because "it's summer". She wouldn't give me a heater either. It may be ok for Latvian people who are used to the cold, but with the temperature going down to 12 degrees Celcius at night, I would like to have heating. The room is simple and cramped but close to the airport.

It's less than 5 mins walk away from the terminal building and 3 min from nearest bus stop. Furniture in the room was truly in need of replacement. Odour of the room was not fresh. What was confusing, the room key card had to be reactivated at the reception daily. Room for two adults was really small. Unfortunately the room was not soundproof as an airport hotel could be. Service in the hotel was good and especially the breakfast, that was served to tables, was brilliant. Extra points for air conditioning and free gym.

But who cares if you're just staying one night before an early departure or after a late arrival? It's only about a 6/7 minute walk from the terminal and you can even wheel your baggage trolley there (level route) as long as you're prepared to take it back to the airport afterwards. We weren't disturbed by aircraft noise - this isn't Heathrow - and the bus stop to Riga centre is even closer than the airport. Decent wifi.
