The bike facilities we excellent and food was amazing. Overall this was a great placed to stay, especially for motorcyclists and with our dogs. Nothing, everything was great
- wout (10/5): Top -
- david (10/5): - Everything... Staff and facilities were excellent.. Nothing...
- Phillip (10/5): Feels like you’re coming home to family - Personality!
- psticks (10/5): Our second stay, coming up with excuses to visit a third time. - This place is unique, if you ride a motorcycle, cycle, or walk or just appreciate good food, this is a gem for you.
Secure parking under cover for motorcycles and little garages for £5 a night for your steed of choice.
The rooms are comfortable and warm.
The food has a South African slant. Try the special Bobowtie with a glass of white port.
- Antonio (10/5): - This is the most friendly biker hotel I have been. The Bucc family are great hosts.
- Andrew (10/5): Excellent, friendly hotel with great food - Great staff, great food and lovely and warm Nothing
- Neil (10/5): -

Je kreeg alles wat je wil zonder er extra voor te hoeven betalen. We hebben het enorm naar onze zin gehad
- Derek (8/5): I enjoyed our stay and would stay there again . - Everything was good , I would stay their again On arrival rather than being booked in we had a tour when all we wanted to do is have a sit down and a coffee . The tour could have waited until we were booked in .
- Philip (10/5): - Location is perfect, hosts are incredibly helpful.
- William (7/5): Situated well and facilities overall good - dinner and breakfast were good served on time and tasty Room little dated but beds comfortable.
- Tony Baker (10/5): Road trip - Well this place is one of the best places I stayed made to feel so welcome and really set up well if you on a motorbike or pushbike and the owner is very welcoming and good secure motorbike parking I only had one night there wish I stayed couple more days but I booked to go back next year
- Philip (10/5): - The best hotel for motorcyclists. Food was great and some of the options were different and delicious.
- B8603VGpaulg (10/5): A fantastic stay in a wonderful hotel..!! - To say that Dave and all of the team went the extra mile in everything they did is a huge understatement. Myself and my friend were warmly greeted as we rode our motorbikes into the secure parking area behind the hotel, and Dave then went on to show us the 'garage' which contained all the free to use cleaning products, buckets, cloths, oils for topping up, even spare dust caps for tyre valves. There was a compressor, jet washer, tools etc etc, basically everything a biker could possibly need..
At dinner, Dave was there checking all was well with us, and chatting about bikes and many other interesting topics. Seeing that I'd used up my Mango Chutney for the wonderful South African dish 'bobotie' that I was eating, and my friend had devoured his chips, more of both were brought out for us..
At breakfast (which was fabulous), Dave was asking about the route we were about to go on, and very kindly brought out a map showing some great alternatives avoiding the usual tourist routes. So thoughtful..
All of the team at the hotel served us politely, courteously, and with a big smile. Everyone was a genuinely lovely person, and this came across in everything they did.. Simply exceptional!
Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the best hotel I've stayed in. Besides the brilliant staff, my room was very comfortable, and it had everything I needed...
I'm back there in August, and will be booking a few days next year to better explore the area..
Thanks once again..!!
- tractor1340 (10/5): Road tour - Well what a great place to stay and very biker friendly with secure parking cleaning stuff along with other bits and owner are really friendly and offer great service so I already booked for 2027
- OnAir58053587537 (10/5): Perfect little hotel - I stayed here whilst attending a wedding nearby and I was made to feel very welcome. The room was very well appointed with more than adequate supplies for tea and coffee making. A really comfortable bed as well. The hotel has a cosy lounge and an alternative lounge/tv room. Breakfast was cooked to order . I really enjoyed the full Scottish breakfast with really tasty eggs and bacon. I would love to come again for a longer stay and would recommend this hotel and the little town of Moffat
- NeilM2542 (10/5): The best Motorbike Hotel. - What an amazing Hotel, staff are amazingly friendly. The owner greeted us on our arrival, introducing us to the the very safe motor bike storage place and all cleaning stuff.
Introduced us to the staff and asked if we needed anything.
The room is brilliant with everything you need.
The food was especially great and can honestly say, the hottest meal I’ve had in an hotel.
Oh the shower is also fantastic and hot.
Booked Gagarin for August.
Thanks again for making us feel welcome and can sleep knowing our pride possessions are safe and monitored.
- Hans (8/5): -
- David Brown (8/5): - Full Scottish breakfast was very good.
Staff were very good and very friendly
The Hotel was clean and well laid out
The room and bathroom were fine
Good shower
Decent bar
Beer garden was a bonus
Excellent location in Moffat The evening meal. The steak pie was poor, the pie casing was like hard cardboard, I could hardly cut it! and filling was short on steak.
The smokies for breakfast was average and small
The sash window wouldn't stay open,
Pillows were uncomfortable
- Philip (9/5): Ideal for motorcycle touring. - Nice quad room for motorcycle touring pals. Excellent food. Very clean. Good atmosphere. Nothing

- Carole (10/5): Nice friendly comfortable and quiet stay - Friendly comfy quiet atmosphere N/A
- Craig (8/5): - Friendly, welcoming staff. Spacious rooms, very nice clean bathrooms. Great set up for ordering breakfast and good selection of food. Plenty of communal space and conveniences within the hotel too Twin beds were a wee bit small but comfortable
- L Tedstill (10/5): - Perfect location, friendly staff. Clean and very comfortable bed. Nothing
- Pauline (9/5): We enjoyed our stay for one night very much and would recommend - The quiet room with ensuite was well appointed -perhaps could do with a chair-very comfy bed. Filling the bath could only be done with the shower, which was not quick or easy as the shower head wanted to spray the whole room!
- CLAIRE (10/5): -
- John (10/5): -
- Passport555225 (10/5): Great place to stay with genuine, helpful staff - This has to be the most genuinely friendly hotel we have stayed in on a motorcycle trip anywhere in the UK and Europe. On our late arrival we were shown to the secure and undercover motorcycle parking area and told to feel free to use the power washer etc for our bikes. The rooms are very comfortable and clean with nice bathrooms. The preordered breakfasts were excellent, good value for money with a great menu choice.
Unfortunately we missed evening meal times as one of our group was involved in a road accident but the staff could not have been more helpful and even offered to take their van to pick up the damaged bike. The next morning they all asked how our friend was getting on in hospital and again offered any assistance. A lovely place to stay with a warm and genuine family running it. If you are in the Scottish Borders on any sort of trip we would recommend you stay here.
- Brian (10/5): Excellent place to stay and super friendly - Amazing place for bikers, the secure parking to the rear is the best that we’ve used anywhere! They even had a cleaning area for the bikes
- Janet (8/5): Very good, the staff are very friendly made us feel right at home. - Pretty good. Would be extra good if sourdough toast was available, along with real yogurt & fruit salad. The yogurt on offer.
- Ann (10/5): Perfect place to stay…well looked after - Everything about the stay was great staff very friendly room had everything we needed, rooms are spacious spotlessly clean, warm….breakfast was amazing best full English think I’ve ever eaten and lots of variety….would def stay again either way question Nothing

- Derek (10/5): Amazing place. - Lovely traditional old building, staff and food were lovely. Rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Beautiful area to explore. Can't speak highly enough of the place 10/10 Nothing.
- David (10/5): On your way north and want a break. You won’t be disappointed - Great location The staff
- nicksL509IA (10/5): They have set the bar high. - What a place........ I visited this hotel in April 2026 with 3 friends for 4 nights on a motorcycling holiday taking in the parts of the West Coast. We recieved a fantastic welcome and instantly relaxed given the secure bike parking. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable and clean, with proper tea bags, hot chocolate satchets and biscuits. We ate in the restaurant for 2 nights and the food was fantastic, and only ventured out in to Moffat to sample some others establishment's. You pre-order your breakfast the night before, which at first seems strange, however once you sample the hot fresh cooked fare it makes complete sense. I had scrambled egg on toast twice, and it makes a pleasant change to come across them being cooked correctly - I would take a guess that they don't use a microwave (ever) Every member of staff were really pleasant, always to happy to help and nothing was too much trouble. I would score the entire experience 10 out of 10 and I look forward to returning soon.
- Mark (10/5): Fantastic place to stay - Unbelievable attention to customer service and satisfaction. Such an amazing group of people running the hotel. Set up for bikers like no other hotel and located next to some of the most amazing roads in the country. Nothing
- Jill (9/5): Thoroughly enjoable - Run by a really friendly family. Time to stop and talk and made us feel at home
- Rod (10/5): - the whole setup for a motorcycle holiday hotel. nothing
- Joe (10/5): - A fantastic family run hotel, the staff are all super friendly and helpful. The food is excellent rooms are nice and comfortable. Safe off road parking for motorbikes.
- David (9/5): Wouldnt hesitate to stay again if in the area... - Fantastic hosts...couldn't do enough for you and very dog friendly. Very comfortable room, food excellent and spotlessly clean Bathroom facilities starting to show their age
- OnAir694864 (10/5): What a great place to stay!! - What a fantastic place to stay when on a bike road trip! Dave and his family couldn’t be more welcoming and attentive. Everything for the biker catered for. Food was incredible and room was really great! Lovely and restful stay before a long ride north the next morning. Will definitely be back!!!
- Stewart (9/5): Kicking myself for not going here before - Great facilities for touring cyclists walkers and motorcyclists Nothing

- Mark (10/5): Absolutely awesome place, staff are very accommodating and you feel welcome, almost part of the hotel when you’re there. - Good food, great staff with good banter, fantastic facilities for motorcyclists. Absolutely nothing.
- Patricia (10/5): Could happily have stayed more than one night but was travelling - Breakfast excellent, black pudding AND haggis.
- Dakin (10/5): Staff where excellent nothing too much trouble, food was excellent and a drying room for your wet bike clothes - Every thing you need when on a motorcycle secured parking washing facilities excellent Nothing
- Jayne (7/5): A very hospitable hotel with great breakfast and staff - The location is excellent and the staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly Our room was in the basement ( dog friendly so may why we were placed there ) with window blocked with a screen. Very stuffy and shower flooded the bathroom floor.
- Rachel (10/5): The warmest of welcomes from start to finish. - All the hotel staff at the Buccleuch Arms Hotel were exceptionally attentive, polite and friendly. The food was fabulous and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for more. N/A

- JasonR400 (10/5): Fantastic experience, with the friendliest people your likely to meet. - This hotel is an absolute gem. Great location for exploring further a field, I can’t fault anything. The breakfast was exceptional and cooked fresh, we didn’t stay for dinner but wished we had after sampling the breakfast. Dave and the team were very friendly and welcoming. The facilities for motorcyclist was fantastic with secure parking and cleaning facilities. I wouldn’t dream of booking anywhere else when I’m next in the area. Nothing

- Tuxford (10/5): -
- StormyK1969 (10/5): If only all hotels were like this! - My husband and I had a one-night stay here two days ago as part of a roadtrip around Scotland. It is probably the warmest, friendliest family-run hotel I've ever had the pleasure to stay at. Massively popular with bikers (and it's easy to see why), but even those of us on 4 wheels were made to feel very welcome! Oh and great hearty food too at the end of a long day's drive. We will definitely be back! Thanks guys....
- Denis (10/5): -
- N3509QSedwinm (10/5): Moffat trip. - If visiting Moffat and surrounding area please consider staying at this wonderful hotel.
Family run establishments, hosts are Cint and Lara who are both warm friendly and very informative.
Room and bathroom was very clean with pristine white bed linen and fresh fluffy towels.
Breakfast was preorder from a great selection on menu card .
(Vegan and vegetarians are catered for)
This Breakfast was outstanding and fresh croissants were the largest I've ever seen.
Also,If sight seeing in area pack lunches are available on request for your trip.
You can relax in down stairs lounge which is opposite the lounge bar.
Whilst up stairs there is a large lounge/tv room with an honesty bar
Although we had a short stay we would certainly chose to stay at the fantastic Buccleuch arms hotel when back in the area.
Please give it a try.
- Martin (9/5): - The friendliness of the staff and the way the owner has organised it with motorcyclists in mind
- Stephen (10/5): Mates in Moffat to muck about - Everything you'd expect to be good at a hotel is twice as good at this hotel. They want you to ask for anything but it's already there. They know what you want before you know what you want. There is nothing to not like.
- Philip (10/5): -
- David (10/5): Perfect, nothing else needs saying - Everything, and particularly the staff and owners who deserve all the accolades they receive Everything was great
- John (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Only used as stopover would definitely use again - Brilliant staff very friendly and helpful Few days to early for restaurant service
- JOHN STEVEN (9/5): -
- blakey (10/5): - Great place to visit, especially if your a biker. Staff can't do enough for you.
And as a plus there is secure parking for your bike. Nothing at all, will be returning
- PrescotKeith (10/5): Moffat weekend - Lovely comfortable homely hotel in a central location, comfortable rooms and lovely hosts. Even offered to give us a lift when we told them we had a tour of the distillery arranged, would highly recommend
- Alain Tremorin (9/5): Thak you to all members for looking after us so well - The welcome and explanations about the amenities was excellent, warm, family feeling without intruding. The breakfast was very good. Staff all genuinely attentive
- Louise (6/5): Didn't live up to my expectations. - Good location, friendly staff, allowed to check in early, good breakfast. Room was downstairs so very dark - not much natural light as window was partially covered over. Sound proofing very poor - kept awake by very loud TV in next room. Very early breakfast for a weekend. Dog in the dining room at breakfast. Owner asked if was ok but was too embarrassed to say no as all other guests seemed fine.
- Moira (9/5): Staff extremely helpful, friendly and ac - Breakfast - lots of choices. Lounge where could bring in a ‘take away’ dinner All good
- Darren (9/5): Great staff and location, Very comfortable stay. - Great location with free parking and a quirky interesting interior that shows a lot of the towns history which made it very interesting . The staff were very friendly and helpful, lovely people. Lots of stairs, which for my mother who was not all that mobile was a bit of a problem.
- Stan Stephen (9/5): - Breakfast is as always Fantastic.
- Sharon (8/5): - Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Heater in room and heated towel raill in bathroom were tricky to operate so found it rather cold in the morning.
- Kerry (8/5): Relaxing - The room was clean and fresh The shutter in the room had a gap so maybe curtains would be better. It was room 1
- quinn (10/5): -
- Roger (10/5): Excellent as always - The food is excellent, the staff are exceptional. If the Smiths move on, they will leave a huge hole in many people’s lives and be a very difficult act to follow. I’ve stayed at the Buc many times at it has always been a pleasure. Back again in April on the bike again. Nothing
- David (10/5): Only an overnight stay but would definitely return for a longer trip in the future - Really friendly and helpful staff , fabulous food , very dog friendly, wonderful location
- Rankin (9/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- phil (8/5): ok - fairly noisy groups of people outside front of hotel between 11pm and 01.30am(we were in room 303)
- Susanne (10/5): -
- Madelon (10/5): Super! - Eten was super, personeel heel erg gastvrij en vriendelijk! .
- Cara (10/5): We will be back! - Great stay, we had the quad room for a family of 4 and it was brilliant. Staff were so lovely and really friendly. Bar was great. Definitely would stay again. Nothing
- Lewis (5/5): - Rooms were nice and had everything you needed. Disappointed in the way I was treated after I checked in.
When I arrived to check in, I was told to go up the stairs and it was the second room on the left. When I arrived the room doors were already open so following my instructions headed into what room I thought was mine. Around an hour later I got a phone call to say I was in the wrong room and had to go back to the hotel to resolve. When I got back, despite the honest mistake, I offered to move room and was told not to bother and talked to like I was a toddler. I was then lectured on not losing room keys or chapping on other room doors, which I was confused to why that would even cross my mind. I hadn’t caused any trouble, and was happy to resolve my mistake/misunderstanding with the room no problem.
- Greg (10/5): Will definitely come back again! - The staff were exceptional, really took the time to make us welcome and look after our needs. Dinner and breakfast were really great, and the place has a real sense of history.
- lawrence (9/5): Friendly staff and very comfortable - Very friendly staff and well versed with the local area N/a
