• Nihad (9/5): Most beautiful hotel I've ever been - and I'll come back. As soon as the prices go to a human level. - It's paradise. I love this hotel so much and it's the most beautiful one I've ever stayed in. A waterfall in the bathroom? 2 whirlpools? A hammock with a view on paradise? YES to everything. The prices are absurdly high. You would think that it's just the rooms, but unfortunately the room service is also stupidly expensive. You don't book Peace Lodge to save money - I know that - but it feels like a rip-off at some point.

• Barbara (10/5): WE LOVED IT AT THE PEACE LODGE! 💝 - We went to Costa Rica the week. It got really cold and still our room was kept at a wonderful temperature with the use of the fireplace in our room. Plus, they also had a space heater to use. We are toasty warm. The room is absolutely as gorgeous as the picture show. The location is wonderful. We enjoyed the clouds rolling into the open AIR breakfast restaurant while we ate our breakfast. my daughter did the waterfall walk and really enjoyed it. She walked through it in about 35 minutes so it’s not an all day thing to go to the waterfall area. Plus all the animal exhibits that are designed to be compatible with the type of animal their housing. This was actually the delight of the trip seeing all the different Costa Rican critters was awesome. Do yourself a favor and try this beautiful lodge. Now I wanna take my husband there!
• Orli (10/5): Top shelf place for a luxury jungle waterfalls and animals experience - This is a splurge place and it’s worth it. So special, waterfall in the bathroom and unique style. Feel like you’re living in the jungle with all the animals nearby. Very very special in every way. Loved everything.
• Linda (10/5): Despite the weather, an amazing stay!!!! - Our room was amazing! Huge canopy bed, fireplace, and the bathroom was an adventure in itself! The walls were designed to look like stone and real plants were growing on the walls. Double waterfalls surrounded the jacuzzi. Two showers, one with optional waterfall. Also private jacuzzi and seating on the terrace off the room complete with hummingbird feeder. Wonderful staff, professional, informative. Accommodated our every need, even helped arrange ride to airport. Dinner was delicious in lovely dining room next to the fireplace. So much to do: animal exhibits were extraordinary with an educated staff to share details and help identify. Great hike with multiple waterfalls, plus a bus to take you back up the mountain to the lodge. Multiple outdoor heated pools and jacuzzis. A trout pond where you can catch a trout and someone will cook it for you. We weren’t able to do the waterfall hikes due to non-stop rain
• PRIYA (10/5): Incredible views, friendly staff and an amazing tour guide - We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Peace Lodge, where the friendly staff and stunning surroundings made for a truly relaxing getaway. The waterfall tour, expertly led by Robin, was a particular highlight, offering a unique opportunity to explore the area's natural beauty and learn from a knowledgeable and passionate guide. Not a big deal but the hand shower was leaky, and the water got cold after couple of us used it.

Loved that there were things to do right on the property . The staff were very pleasant , knowledgable and very attentive .. Helped with whatever they could to assist you in having a very comfortable stay ! Things closed a bit early . Wish there were more activities . I little more American music at the bar / restaurant .. maybe a night of dancing .. The fact that everything was very expensive . Right down to being billed for bottle water ..

Trzeba było kupić 4 dolary za wodę i zapłacić z utylizację butelki.

• Grace (9/5): Overall great but not perfect. - The overall design of the room, we especially enjoyed the hot tub on our balcony while having a great view of nature Wifi sucks and the bathroom smells like pee/amonia on our first day. Also everything has to be time sensitive like why do you have to reserve for dinner everyday before 5pm, we tried to just reserve on the first day for the next 3 days that we're staying but they wanted us to call everyday before 5pm

• Adi (10/5): Magical place to be - Out of the ordinary, not the places you meet in a trip. Very unique place to spent your night. The surrounding is amazing, the food is great and the service also. Highly recommended
• Andrew (8/5): - This is a very clean and nice property. The level of service and amenities does not match the price. We have stayed at places in Costa Rica that are nicer and better attention to detail but for much less money. You would think that breakfast should be included at the very minimum. Bring your own water to drink they charge $4.50 for a 20 ounce bottle. We would recommend the La Paz Waterfall Gardens as a day trip but find other lodging nearby if you are price conscious. Also, there are lots of steps no matter what part of the property you are going to. If you are not able to do up and down stairways very well then do not stay here. Good experience overall. Too pricey.

• Mary (9/5): Comfortable and unique accommodation close to Poas volcano - Very comfortable rooms- loved the hot tubs (on terrace and in bathroom). Staff were very friendly. And accessible to La Paz was great - especially evening when the day trippers have cleared off and the sloths are awake! The food was a bit average for this level of hotel. Also would have been nice to have a decent sized pool - there are just a couple of small jacuzzis onsite.

• Alex (10/5): Amazing place with spectacular flora and fauna as well as a top notch waterfall trail. - Last stayed here in 2007 with my wife and wanted to come back with kids - went even better than expected. Got upgraded to the villa which was amazing. Going to miss soaking in the terrace jacuzzi and watching the humming birds. The grounds and amenities are wonderful, and there is tons to do without ever leaving the property. Birds, butterflies, monkeys, frogs, big cats - just an incredible variety of fauna. We even did the frog tour at night which we loved and the kids got to milk a cow. And of course the waterfall hike is spectacular. Tough to find faults in such paradise, but the hot water tank in the villa must be small because there was only ever enough to fill the hot tub ~80%. Also the property is on a hillside with serious elevation changes - not a fault of course but there is only so many times you can run up to the room to get something :)

Dinner in the dining room was exceptional as well as the service. Every staff member went out of their way to make you comfortable and help you. The hummingbirds everywhere were amazing. I didn’t like the wild cat and monkey enclosures. They were too small for the animals and I found it upsetting to know that my stay was contributing to what I would consider abusive confinement for profit. They have a very large property to expand the enclosure areas or not have them at all if they can’t do it right. It really brought the enjoyment of our stay way down. All 3 of us were distressed after visiting that section.

• Angela (10/5): Will definitely be back! - Loved everything. That staff are amazing. The rooms were unbelievably amazing. The grounds are beautiful. The sanctuary was great! The waterfalls were a steep track during parts but well with it. Will definitely be back!!
• Bobra (10/5): - We stayed here for only two nights for my birthday, as we wanted to splurge a bit. This is a gorgeous, very well manicured 5-star resort. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a higher level room for my birthday, so that front desk staff knew how to make an impression. The room was crazy amazing fabulous. Look at their website pics as they are very accurate. Expedia includes two tours when booking, so we got a fabulous night frog tour, and a half-day personalized tour of their wildlife sanctuary - Guide MICHAEL WAS AWESOME. We also participated in the butterfly release, which we will remember forever! The downside was the dinner restaurant (only one). The menu was super Americanized, and they were out of the one local fish! The first night took forever to get served, and they brought our appetizer, salad, and main dish all at once. The second night was my birthday, and although the server offered me a free dessert for my birthday, when they brought it, there was no candle, no offer to sing, no extra decoration on the plate, and no wishing me a happy birthday. I'm a little surprised by this as it was contrary to the front desk staff. Hey, Lee Banks, please train your restaurant staff to make a bigger deal of of birthdays. Also, put some more Costa Rican items on the menu! The food was VERY good for both breakfast (not included) and dinner, and beautifully plated. If you don't mind the price, don't miss this beautiful property, and ask for Michael as your guide!

The bed was so comfortable as well! The sanctuary and waterfalls were definitely worth a visit. The staff was incredibly responsive and helpful. I couldn’t recommend this place enough and we hope to visit again!
• Dan (7/5): Overpriced but impressive. - Great location and grounds. The beds are super comfy and the bathrooms are incredible. It’s quite a tourist trap and everything is very expensive when you’re there. Dinner was not great but very pricey.
• Janet (8/5): Very good - Beautiful property with enough to do for 3 days. Quiet and not overcrowded. Trout grill was great, as were the trails and views. Relaxing and peaceful. Dining choices limited for dinner and get redundant after a few days. Food quality is good, but hugely overpriced for what it is. Ubers don't service the area, so you are stuck with the food options on the property (i.e. $5 usd for 1/2 an avocado) and need to arrange a driver to leave the park.
• ELIZABETH (10/5): - The property is gorgeous and lush with beautiful views and so much to do! There are nature trails, waterfalls, and it is one of the loveliest places to stay in Costa Rica.
• Jacqueline (10/5): Exceptional - This is the one of the best hotels our family has stayed at! We loved our room, especially the massive bathroom that had the waterfall feature and 2 showers! Dinners were exceptional (although expensive) and we really enjoyed all of the animal activities, especially the feedings. Michael and Rodrigo were our guides and took great care of our family. Everyone who works at the hotel was so friendly and made us feel very welcome!

Everything from the top notch service to the super comfortable and incredible rooms to the facilities that included holding toucans, hummingbirds, and feeding a sloth...this place was a dream for our family. My 10yr old daughter even announced she plans to come back for her honeymoon. Nothing bad to say about this place!

Not enough coffee, and everything else extremely overprices. The massage being 200 dollars, but nothing special, old facility even got shortened because of another appointment. which for that amounth is unthinkable. We are hospitality designers and we design hotels all over the world so we stay in hotels all over the world. But this hotel has been really one of the lowest regarding price and value for money. I would not recommend to anyone. And I recommend to level up and work on many points to really make it outstanding and for people to return.

Property is great for children with the pool and animals, but there are a lot of stairs when walking and exploring. I’m not sure it would work for everyone. We got in late after the restaurant was closed, so they had sandwiches and fruit prepared in our room without us even asking. It was the little touches for us. We loved it here! Highly recommend.

It was the most expensive accommodation of our holiday but the nightly rate includes entry to La Paz Waterfall Gardens and the animal and butterfly sanctuary so we felt it was worth it. It is also only a short drive from San Jose airport which was very convenient. We did the evening animal feeding tour and night frog tour which were both amazing - the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Our boys also caught sone trout in the lake. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and our family room was gorgeous with its balcony jacuzzi and lovely views. We had a delicious evening meal with great service in the main restaurant and had the buffet lunch the next day before departing for the airport, which was plentiful, delicious and surprisingly great value for money. All the staff were professional, welcoming, knowledgeable and we felt very spoiled throughout our stay. Having to leave !

• Linda (10/5): - Loved the warm welcome drink and hospitality. The grounds are beautiful and our room was over the top with all natural wood and stone decor. Our surname posted on the front door was a nice personalized touch! We loved the balcony hammock and jacuzzi tub, fireplace, and bathroom waterfall! Access to La Paz Waterfall Gardens for a huge aviary, exotic wildlife and gorgeous waterfalls. The property is terraced on a hill so lots of stairs.
• Leah (10/5): Fairytale Property! - This hotel and the entire property were magical! Gorgeous rooms, stunning grounds, impeccable service, and a delicious dinner made for a perfect stay. The walk to the waterfalls was beautiful, and seeing all the animals (especially sloths and tucans) was so fun. We had an amazing time!

Tours are offered through the resort to ensure safety and peace of mind when you leave the resort. The rooms are gorgeous and the La Paz Waterfall Gardens are easily accessible from the resort. Staying at Peace Lodge is an experience.

• Gabriel (10/5): Fantastic! - We loved everything, I went with my Wife, Son, and daughter, and we were super happy with everything I mean everything was so great and cozy, and we loved the location the altitude on the mountain near Poas Volcano, and the weather in December with very little rain. The price is a bit on the high side but you are paying what you are getting for.

You do have to pay extra for animal night tours, and another yours but it is in - We had lovely choices of great fresh fruit juices and variety of western, local, vegan choices. Loved it! We were in a grind floor room and heard the thump, thump, thump ofpeople walking in The room above.

Felt like paradise! - Great location, the domain, the friendliness, the welcomeness, the amenities, the rooms, the hummingbird feeders on the balcony, the hannoc, the jacuzzi on the balcony, great room service which was instant, great service overall in restaurants, the food, the breakfast buffet was amazing, the park with the animals, the easy access to the park with the amazing waterfalls. We could go on and on.. The price which was about $800 for the night, added with the additional restaurants bills and the animal feeding tour we did, it came out to over $1200 for one night. The stairs in the domain to visit all amenities like the retuarent, the animal cages, the park, etc.. We did not count them, but yo ucan easily get to 1000 stairs across the domain to get to and from your room to everything.
