• ayleishao (6/5): Average stay, dated rooms and lots of insects - Staff are absolutely lovely and can’t do enough but I didn’t really enjoy this stay. The rooms are dated, beds rock hard and showers didn’t work properly, pressure was minimal. Lots of greenery around which is lovely but I really struggled with the mosquitoes here. I thought breakfast options were limited and the tables took too long to clear after people had left, attracting flies to the breakfast area. Good location and friendly staff.
• tonyj617 (10/5): Faultless Stay. - Excellent, Excellent, Excellent, Faultless 4 nights stay and wish it had been longer, yes the rooms are a little dated but the pool areas have a very Caribbean feel. great location and wonderful staff, rooms cleaned daily, pool / beech towels provided and the best breakfasts we had on our trip. Brilliant highly recommend. Apart from room modernisation I cant see how this hotel can be improved in the planned renovations in July, hopefully they dont alter too much and they keep the relaxed feel and theme.

Our room was an excellent size, very nicely decorated, comfortable beds, excellent WiFi, aircon, toiletries & plenty of tea & coffee. Lovely large shower, bathroom & plenty of storage. We feel the resort offers excellent value for money. The gardens & pool area's are beautifully kept. All staff throughout the resort are polite, professional, friendly & extremely helpful. The resort is spotlessly clean in all area's of the hotel. The hotel is very quiet & Peaceful. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. The Italian restaurant Al Dente is superb. Plenty of restaurants & bars to choose from along the main road locally. A special thank you to M who looked after our room during our stay. Our room was kept spotlessly clean by her daily. M was was lovely always greeted us with a smile, friendly, polite & professional. M went above & beyond. We can certainly recommend this resort collection. When returning to Thailand in the future we would certainly would choose one of the other hotels from the collection.

Pool areas are great with plenty of room, access to the beach is a 2 minute walk. Good access on to the main strip for shopping, bars and food.
• louiser592 (10/5): Lovely peaceful hotel - Booked through Tui, great hotel spacious room with balcony overlooking main pool.clean if a little dated, towels and water every day, good fridge to keep beers cold! The main pool bar was excellent for food and happy hour cocktails. Best breakfast we’ve had. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Good position, 10/15 minutes to beach 5 minutes to main shops and restaurants. 835 street food best restaurant by far, don’t be put off by its name it was truly exceptional.
• davidcT8318ZC (10/5): The last Leaf stay was not as expected... - Having stayed here 3 times previously and enjoyed very much , we booked a fourth time, a Chalet room near the Leaf pool... Recently we heard it will be closing in July, to be developed more into the Sands. .. When we arrived at check-in time, we were greeted and filled in the paperwork, at which point we were asked if we would prefer to move to the Waters Hotel a mile away in Bang Niang to a pool access room in the new wing 😁 We'd stayed in the Waters last year and were impressed, so took the offer of the upgrade graciously. Sorry to have missed a last stay at The Leaf, but enjoyed The Waters very much!. .... And we still got back along Nang Thong several times for food, drink, and the beach!
• Storyteller245611 (10/5): Fantastic atmosphere in the hotel. Very relaxed. - In 2025 we stayed at The Leaf for Christmas and enjoyed it so much we went back for New Year 2026 for 10 days. You can't beat the location of this place. Its 3 minutes max walking to shops, bars and restaurants and only 10 minutes to the beach. The staff are what make a huge difference too, with a huge shout out to Pai who works so hard. I'm really saddened to know it is closing on 01/7/26 to be developed into a much bigger place with lots of amenities for children. It will spoil the whole atmosphere. If I can get back before July I will. Thanks Leaf.
• Simmaz (8/5): Nice hotel, quiet area - Review about The leaf My wife & I stayed here 17/11-22/11 and, after the initial poor check in procedure, the stay was very comfortable. We arrived at hotel approximately 1430 & didn’t get into our room til approximately 1630. There were a few more issues upon arriving to the room but all these were sorted by the evening so can’t complain about their customer service & efficiency. We stay in room 8205 that overlooked 1 of the 2 pool areas. The pool area, that we were close to, had the swim up bar & snack area. The other had no amenities. There are no lifts in the apartment blocks. The pool bar holds happy hour cocktails from 1500-1700 but closes at about 1730. Pool is open 0700-1900 which I found strange closing the bar that early. The rooms were spacious with a large balcony area. The bed was a kingsize and firm. Bathroom was large, IMO could have been set out better (not much room between toilet & shower) & shower pressure could have been better. We stayed bed and breakfast. There was a vary of fruits and pastries. On order, the chef can cook a Thai omelette or poached egg and avocado on a bit of toast, which is very tasty. There are a few Thai dishes available. The hotel is approximately a 10 minute walk to the beach. There is a slight hill coming back up. Khao lak itself is very quiet, so I suggest paying 200 baht in a local tuk into the next village Ban Bang Niang, asking to go to Starbucks, or take a 20 min flat walk along. There is a lovely Thai restaurant just outside the hotel called Go Pong. Doesn’t look much but absolutely lovely home cooked Thai food.
• Seaside64374155996 (6/5): Its a shame as location beautiful - We arrived as a family and on arrival at 4pm our rooms were ready however were incorrect, not enough beds. Rooms dated but clean and the beds are possibly the worst hardest beds I have ever slept in or not as the case was. My children were on put you up beds which they described as sleeping on a table. Breakfast was ok, if you arrived late/ 9:30 then not alot there. Staff stunk of cigarettes. Pools ok, food by pool ok cheap beer in comparison to other hotels in our travels. Gardening starts at 8am so forget having a la6 morning and maids are knocking at your doors by 9am. Really disappointed with this hotel and wouldn’t stay here again.
• bonesi (10/5): Home away from home, peaceful - Our Favourite resort, we manage to stay at least around 50 nights. For the last ten years. Staff welcome us back with open arms. The last 3 years, we have picked a Villa room. Girls already had a toppa on my bed, everything perfect. Breakfast egg station are always happy to make them just right and a new coffee machine. There are plenty of hot dishes to pick from, fruit, etc. Toaster bread and pastries. You must try there Italian restaurant wonderful food and cocktails. Two pools, one with stairs. Beautiful gardens and plenty of birds. Reception staff are very helpful. Outside pharmacy restaurant's supermarket's.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality from all the staff, who were consistently friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay. A special mention must go to the amazing resort manager, Jeerapha (Oi), who went above and beyond to ensure we were well looked after, especially when it came to our dietary requirements during breakfast. She and her fantastic team made us feel so welcome and cared for, and it truly made a difference to our overall experience. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and conveniently located the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable and heartwarming stay in Khao Lak.

• SusieE23 (10/5): Still our favourite hotel so peaceful and quiet - Just back from our 3rd stay at the Leaf for 17 days. We are an adult family of 4 and were amazed at how many other guests we recognised from last year and the year before which gives an idea of how fond others are of the hotel too. Also it's full of staff we remember from other trips and who also remembered us. What does that say about the ambience / atmosphere and value? The gardener is still making the gardens look amazing. This year we saw squirrels, chipmunks, lizards and so many varieties of birds. The room cleaners are still doing a super job in the rooms. We loved the difference the power washer was making to the steps and pathways. Very eco friendly way of cleaning. Thank you to all staff for being so friendly and helpful and dedicated to the standards of their hotel Special thanks to the chef who made me a pepper and cheese omelette every morning and to Pai who made us gin fizz cocktails and passionfruit daquiris at Happy Hour. Loved our villas this year
• josiecupcake (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - We had a wonderful stay at the leaf on the sands.The facilities were great. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned daily. The swim up bar was great and the lunch time was snacks were really tasty. A great spot for all local shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend. We will definitely return.

• lennythemidlands (6/5): Beautiful surroundings within hotel, better areas in Khao lak to stay, wonderful staff but in need of a little tlc ! - Beautiful gardens and pool area, bedrooms are spacious with balcony / patio, fridge, hairdryer, bottled water, tea/coffee making facilities, safety deposit box (free) and toiletries, however becoming a little tired and when walking to the upper floor rooms you notice the dirt and unkept areas, shower window (above) was filthy, stairwells dirty… Upper rooms are more private, all seem to have lovely views Staff were amazing in all areas of the hotel Pools were lovely, we enjoyed the quiet one as by our rooms - the “lively” one is where the bar is which play Coldplay songs repeatedly each day Drinks 70thb for a soft drink, 100 thb Chang, cocktails around 250-300thb, Breakfast was fantastic but again restaurant is becoming tired but lots to choose from and coffee good !! In the evening it turns into an Italian restaurant Location - not the best in my opinion, you are in the town so lots of restaurants within 2 min walk but all situated on the main busy road, not ideal for younger children or pushchairs Beach is about 15 min walk - again not the best as only hotel restaurants along the front We definitely prefer area around the Merlin resort or bang niang .. Tui rates this hotel as 4 + , definitely more like a 3 + We wouldn’t return but mainly because of the location We stayed first 2 weeks in April and there was rain most days late afternoon !!

• cookiedave (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Our last part of our 14 night vacation, staying here five days. As always, the greeting at reception from the team was excellent after a 2 1/2 hour journey/transfer from Krabi. The room was nice, however was a bit dated / in need of furbishment. The hotel itself was excellent. It’s sister hotel on the beach you could access the beach with a card or reception supplied. This hotel with the restaurant had access to the main drag through restaurant, which was great. Two pools one busier than the other. Staff extremely friendly. The only negative was the Wi-Fi you had to sit on the Veranda to get a good reception as apparently the boxes are scattered around the garden…. Other than that excellent stay, and would happily stay here again.

• Journey32418389205 (2/5): Never again!!! - This is by far the worse hotel I have stayed in. Terrible food. The full Faulty Towers experience. Not one staff is trained, it was so bad it was almost funny. You couldn't make this stuff up. I found the manager name: "Jiab" to be very therttning to the guessed and staff. To some up, bad food, staff, and smelly rooms.
• billmarl (10/5): Great value for money smiley happy people - This is our last full day here and sorry to be leaving,staff are so friendly and kind always with a smile on their faces ready to help. Started off not so well when on check in after long flight we had to wait 5 hours for our room,something Tui fail to mention until the last paragraph of a 3 page leaflet,but that’s not hotels fault,they gave us towels and let us change into our swim stuff and found us when rooms were ready Rooms are a little dated but huge 7 foot bed is more than adequate and comfortable also shower very good and has everything we need,2 small pools one quiet and one where music is played,not loud but good enough,bar staff around louder pool are great and has a swim up bar,food also ok around there,they do cocktails from 3-5pm for 110 bhat The beach is only a 10 minute walk away out of hotel turn left just follow your nose to the sand where security will show you down the side,ask reception for card to show them your staying here. You couldn’t be more central,literally walk through the restaurant and your in the middle of the strip with mainly gift shops bars restaurants and everything you need a few 7-11s and multiple weed shops All in all a great place to stay and so glad we chose this hotel,keep up the great work

• japplet0n (8/5): Understated little Gem! - The Leaf on the Sands is a lovely, friendly, smaller hotel, we stayed there for 3 weeks in January 2025 and have already booked to go back in April 2025 for another 3 weeks. The hotel has a slightly different concept than you would expect from any other hotel in that it only provides breakfast in the restaurant, in the evenings the restaurant is open from 6pm as a very nice Italian family restaurant, we did not eat in the Italian as we love Thai food, but everyone who did loved it. The Pool bar is really good with excellent service, food and drinks all provided by Pai, Nge, the Happy Chef and a couple of equally hard working staff who I unfortunately missed their names. The prices within the hotel for food and drinks are also very reasonable and not at all extotionate, the pool bar closes at 7pm and there is no other bar in the hotel unfortunately, however, just a few meters outside of the hotel, along the main road, is a really good selection of restaurants, bars and shops that stay open reasonably late. We stayed in an upper floor Chalet Room and although it was a little tired and the furniture needed some attention, it was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. We had water delivered every day, the towels were changed daily and the beach towels whenever we asked, tea and coffee were never in short supply and we were told to "use the mini bar" and fill it with whatever we choose to drink, there was no issue with consuming your own drinks (soft or alcoholic) and food around the pool and gardens. There is an issue though with some people reserving sunbeds (I watched an elderly Gentleman daily as he reserved the same sunbeds at 6am just in front of our room before sunrise) there is no need to reserve sunbeds and I really do not understand why people feel the need to do this, there are plenty around both pools to go around. The hotel is not a 5 star and it does not claim to be unlike its sister next door, The Sands. We have stayed at The Sands on two occasions and had a lovely time but we much prefer the friendliness, attentiveness and personal service that you receive at The Leaf on the Sands, both hotels are very different and both are very nice but we prefer the Leaf and have just booked to go back in April this year for another 3 weeks and have upgraded our room to a Villa (hopefully we will be allocated a garden view one in a slightly quieter location than by the main pool).

• Quillis (6/5): Ok if you are on a budget - We stayed here as we like to travel around but didn't realise just how far from the beach it was. About a 25/30 minute walk. Check in was the worst I have ever experienced, we waited for just over 4 hours in the lobby for our room, not a good start! Staff disinterested. Breakfast was ok, didn't eat in the Italian as I went to Thailand for the food. Pools small and over crowded, the usual rubbish of towels at dawn but not using the seats till after midday , room ok, bed awful.

• Mi Sun (6/5): - The screens are not properly installed, so bugs come into the room and bite. Also, the noise from the next room is so loud that you can hear everything. Because it is an old relationship. The indoor air smells. Lack of smoking facilities

• Niina (10/5): Erittäin hyvä - Hotelli alue sekä huoneemme oli erittäin siisti, ja hotellin sijainti erinomainen lähellä rantaa ja palveluja. Ainut miinus puoli oli hotellin tarjoama wifi yhteys joka oli usein hidas tai ei aina toiminut. Jos teet töitä lomasi aikana niin wifi toimi parhaiten hyvin aikaisin aamulla.
• Tina (6/5): Mycket slitna rum. - Väldigt slitet små ödlor överallt man var rädd och få dom i rummet. Ljudet av aircondicion hördes hela tiden.
• Storyteller245611 (10/5): Best situated hotel with amazing staff - We stayed at The Leaf from 18/12 till 31/12. Initially we were a bit disappointed in the room, we had a bungalow, as it smelt of damp. However the next day there was a dehumidifier and a key to leave the aircon on constantly which cleared this up. Once we got our bearings we realised that it was the best situated hotel for the area. Literally 3 minute walk to the shops, bars and restaurants. Both pools were brilliant. Special mention to Pai who ran the pool bar as he was brilliant. All the staff were amazing. The walk to the beach is ok but its quicker to cut along the back of the larger hotels if you want to reach the lighthouse end of the beach. We liked it so much we will be back again next year.
• Kristoffer (8/5): Great place to relax - Nice and quiet. Good location. The pool areas was nice and with sun beds available all the time. Very friendly and helpful staff. The air conditioner was very noicy (we stayed in a villa) and the room could have been vacuum cleaned more often.
• RooneyDogg (10/5): The Leaf on the Sand - An Absolute "Must Stay" if Your looking for recommendations in Khao Lak area. The Place,The Area,The Accomdation,The Staff,The Food ,Everything was just Perfect. Nothing was to much trouble for any of the Staff,they where pleasant,helpful and consistent with their Efficiency for the Duration of Our stay,what Assets. The Food was Top Notch and catered for Every Dietary need,the Rooms where clean,comfortable and complete with Air Con. The main street was just minutes away and the Shops featured Supermarkets to Legal Weed Shacks. Taxis & Tut Tuts always available with reasonable prices,these where always ordered from Reception. All Our Tours,Elephants,James Bond Island,Turtle Santuary to name a few where All organised or recommended by the Visiting TUI Rep (Teddy) or by the Staff themselves. You Wont Be Disappointed !
• Tom (4/5): Great staff, room disappointment. - Was ok, the first room we got was super small, we changed to the “vila” was was super old and dirty. We had a lot of ants in the room so we changed again and then it was much better but only for the last night. The service of course was amazing, the staff really tried to fix and arrange everything, we even got a plate of fruit to the room as an apology, but the hotel and villas are just too old and cranky. We paid around 90€ per night, guess one can find a better value for money then this place.
• marcia (10/5): Maravilhosa - Espetacular. Solicitamos late check out e auxílio com Transfer porque nosso voo chegava 23.50h em phuket. Funcionou tudo perfeitamente. Quando chegamos já estavam com tudo organizado e nos deram UP grade café da manhã excelente e muito comércio nas redondezas, massagens. Excelente opção de hospedagem.

• Theodora (6/5): - Im Großen und Ganzem ok. Sehr nettes und höfliches Personal. Sehr ruhig und überschaubar. Das Pool ein wenig ungeschickt gefugt dadurch viele Unebenheiten. Tut ganz schön weh wenn man nicht aufpasst. Die Zimmer sind praktisch eingerichtet, genug Platz in den Schränken. Das Badezimmer auch ok. Die Zimmer wurden eher nicht gründlich gereinigt. In zwei Wochen wurden ca alle 3 Tage die Handtücher gewechselt, gewischt wurde eher selten. Bei Anfrage an der Rezeption wurden die fehlenden Handtücher (vergessen) unmittelbar gebracht. Die Terrasse wurde selten bzw. in zwei Wochen etwa 2-3 mal gereinigt. Der Tisch wurde gefühlt nie abgewischt. Frühstück ausreichend. Eier kann man bis zum umfallen essen, Wurst gibt es nur eine Sorte so wie Käse. Wenn etwas fehlte, dauerte es meist ein wenig länger bis Nachschub kam. Eintönig , aber man verhungert nicht! Umgebung sehr gut!

• Martin (10/5): Fint mindre sted omgivet af fin have. - Vi boede 5 dage på dette hotel. Meget rent og fin service. 2 pools - den ene for børn, og den anden en rolig pool. Ligger fint i forhold til by og indkøb, men der er lidt langt til stranden

Det er virkelig et lækkert hotel - rent og pænt både mht værelse , faciliteter og ikke mindst den smukke have. Gode pools . Dejligt der både m pool og morgenmads restaurant kun for voksne. Men da jeg mødtes med mine børn og børnebørn var det helt sikkert også alle tiders hotel for børnefamilier med pool med vandrutchebaner, fodring af fisk , legeland . Dejlig strand. Hotellet kan klart anbefales til både børnefamilier og voksen ferie

• JuYoung (10/5): - 아기자기하고 가족 여행하기 딱 좋았어요! 바다가 생각보다 조금 떨어져 있어서 바다 보고 싶은게 목적이면 바다 앞이 있는 숙소로 잡는거 추천해요. 장소며 분위기며 다 너무 좋은데 딱 하나 별로였던건 방 청소를 해줄때 조금 대충 닦는 느낌이 드네요. 그래도 스태프 분들이며 다들 너무 친철하고 잘해주셔서 좋았습니다! 아침도 매일 메뉴가 바꿔서 심심치 않게 먹었습니다. 과일도 많고요.

• Donald (10/5): Beautiful gardens with two pools - We choose the villa again this year. But room 8504 seemed to have a lot of mosquitoes on the balcony. Lucky thai spray works. I requested a topper for my bed which arrived promptly. Large walk-in shower in fact the whole bathroom was large. Mini fridge,two bottles of water a day,tea,coffee and creamer. TV Air-con fixed. Block out cutians would help as there are fairy lights around the beautiful gardens. Breakfast was so so. A very short walk to the street where there are lots of restaurants, 2 711, and two supermarkets. The staff are always happy and very helpful.

• cheryl (10/5): Perfect quiet and relaxing - We stayed 45 nights love every minute at The Leaf on Sands. Villa was right near the big pool. Beds a little hard but the maids fixed that with extra padding a doona. Bar fridge, 2 bottles of water,tea,coffee and creamer. Big walk-in bathroom plenty of space for your toiletries. Nice veranda with two chairs and table. Even they have this in your room. Safe easy to use. Breakfast was at The Sands resort golf cart delivered us there excellent. Last few days breakfast was at The Leaf. Just outside plenty of restaurants, supermarket, 711. Thai bank close for your money exchange.

A small fridge,kettle two bottles of water a day as well as tea, coffee and creamer. Pool is outstanding perfect. Just a short walk to restaurants on the main street. Breakfast buffet everyday.

However, we were placed on the ground floor with no access to the frist floor. Obviously, there was NO balcony. I chose the room because I thought it's either upstairs or as it is implied, the whole chalet comes with the booking. But it wasn't the case. Cons: Staff doesn't care what customers do. Swimming pool was used already at 6:30 am by large number of kids making noise, jumping

Ni siquiera pregunto por nuestros nombres. Decía que no podíamos estar aquí y que no había campo. Al final, vio que si teníamos reservación y nos dio la llave sin mayor explicación sobre las facilidades y amenidades del hotel. Fue muy desagradable. A parte de ese incidente, el personal es muy amable y servicial, especialmente en el restaurante. El desayuno es espléndido, la limpieza perfecta y las instalaciones excelente.

Täglich frische Betwäsche und Handtücher auf Wunsch. Gemütliches Bett. Strahlend weisse Bettwäsche und Handtücher sehr rein. Wer deutsches Frühstück gewöhnt ist hat wenig Auswahl an Käse Sorten und Wurst Sorten. Wer auf sein Nutella nicht verzichten möchte , der soll sich ein Glas mitnehmen: -) Das Hoteleigene Restaurant bietet optional Mittag und Abendessen. Sehr saubere Küche.und lecker. Morgens der Kaffeemaschine schmeckt übrigens auch sehr gut.

Men standarden på hotellet bærer preg av å være gammelt og dårlig vedlikeholdt. Vi måtte dessverre klage på renholdet da rommet ble mer og mer møkkete for hver dag som gikk. Ingen tilfredsstillende renhold fra forrige besøk eller.

Buffett breakfast with real orange juice and plenty of fruit. Egg station with bacon, Asian dishes as well. Toasted worked well slices bread or loafs you cut yourself. Staff very friedly Beautiful morning gardens there is a bigger pool with a swim up bar.

Balcony is a bonus. Enjoyed our time at the Leaf on the Sands and would be happy to stay again.
