Garden area was good 1- staff communication was very bad & what I told I didn't get it. 2- being a vegitarian very limited option they had. For the non-veg many option were their. 3 - for a special decorations first I called & conform with them and I told if it was completely then do it and if it's any charge for it so please dont do it.. Evn I mailed for that also with booking.com. I just got few ballons & flowers in the 1 room only. & finally during payment they charged me 25$ for that.. It was very disappointing for me.. Thank you

Moreover, He doesn't respect women. It was my birthday, and my girlfriend came to me as a guest. We were about to go their restaurant Maharaja, but he did't let us go using abusive language. Additionally, The hotel need to be clean. My room had a hot water jug full of dirt on it. Also, the tap water of restrooms smells bad.

On New Year's eve, they were reluctant to serve anything ordered unless I pay instantly & this was very much annoying & disappointing. They could have easily mentioned in the menu card, specially made for 31st, so that the guest is aware & not felt insulted.

The food is good, and offers a nice range for choices. It is outside of the overcrowded tourist area of Thamel, but close enough for a quick taxi ride if that is where you need to go. There are a lot of places to stay in Kathmandu, but I highly recommend this hotel.

Funcionários muito educados, e bom quarto, ainda que antigo, mas com um excelente aspecto geral. Não fica no centro (embora seja possível ir a pé) mas a corrida de táxi dura poucos minutos e tem valor aproximado de 500 rúpias (pouco menos de 5U$). Vale a pena
• Janos (8/5): fair choice for a weary traveler - A solid if dated business hotel a bit of way from touristic hotspots, often priced competitively and thus worth a stay, notch above the standard Thamel smaller hotels.
• Clifton W (4/5): Grand Hotel wasn’t so Grand. - Bathroom flush did not work. Very low water pressure. Water was luke warm. No tissues in lobby. Breakfast buffet had a cappuccino machine but there was an extra charge for it. Good was mediocre. Had to summon wait staff continuously.

They give me twin bed coming double bed which is not comfortable. Baths room flasher was not working after flash it stock . Plz do not order room dine in coz it over charger and food not good at all . Just walk south from hotel there is some restaurants. There is lots of thing to take care I don’t recommend this hotel

• Dean (8/5): Comfortable hotel with good service - I was in Nepal with 3 of my graduate students and one had to be hospitalized. I needed a hotel close to the hospital and wanted a well built hotel resistant to the tremors currently affecting Kathmandu. Through Hotels.com I was able to get a good price on the Grand Hotel that met my needs. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The hotel is an older one and shows some wear but still in good shape. There were limited options for eating in the neighborhood so took most of my meals in the hotel. If you need a hotel in this neighborhood I would recommend the hotel especially at the rates through Hotels.com.

• Peter (6/5): Reasonable hotel in the middle of poor area - The hotel is overall good. The room was clean, internet worked all the time despite frequent electricity problems. Air conditioning didn't work: apparently they turn it off completely in winter. The breakfast was quite modest: potatoes, beans, soya sausages, one sort of juice and coffee. The area around the hotel is poor and depressing. Need to take a taxi to get to all city cites. About 7-8km from the airport, but the ride may take about an hour during daytime.

• mj (6/5): Worst ever experience - It was the worst ever leisure experience .i ever had .... Smiles ,politeness and willingness or zeal to help was completely missing ... Staff's approach was as if they are either doing a favour or are least interested in business... Hotel can be termed as a business hotel and not for sure a fun or leisure hotel.....room service , rest service , reception or entire service part is a nightmare ....that welcome part was completely missing .... Not a value for money proposition for sure .....
• Benedikte (6/5): nice room - disappointing garden and pool - The rooms were nice and big. The bed was really good and the air conditioning system worked well. The breakfast was ok - fresh made omelets and other things, you were sure to leave full. The pool and garden area were however very disappointing. The garden is very small and located next to the street and at the time we visited a construction ite as well. It is not a place for quite and relaxing away from the busy streets of Kathmandu. The pool area is not very well kept and there are only two beds available. As with the garden this is not a place you want to spend a lot of time for relaxing. It tKes around 20-30 min to walk to the centre of Kathmandu in streets with lots of traffic. Choose this hotel for the nice rooms and friendly staff not for the location, garden and pool.
