- Cyril (7/5): A kind of motel with a guesthouse appearance - The breakfast is very good and the table service (cutlery, dishes) is old-fashioned and cute.
At the first floor, there is a medium-sized cosy lounge where you can have a nice time reading on one of the soft armchairs.
The beds are correct but a bit dusty, and we finished our night with a stuffy nose and eyes swollen, so be careful in case of allergies and take your emergency medication with you.
It might be enough for one night stop during a two-days journey, passing through Carrick-on-Shannon for connecting two very distant irish towns. One of the main roads is directly in front of some rooms, a few meters away. With the lact of soundproofing of this quite old building, you can hear all the night trafic...
When you get into the house and rooms, it smells candle sents everywhere, and we were almost suffocating, so we had to open widely the bedroom windows.
And during cool seasons, the windows's panels let some heat out from the room. You might feel cooler is the room, but the beds are warm.
The bathroom - a toilet and a shower in our case - is narrow, and unless you want to put your clothes over the toilet lid, you will let them in the bedroom and take only the towel with you.
Good or bad, depending on what you were looking for: a strictly profesionnal behaviour, without attentive welcome.
Caution for the guesthouse: in our room, the evacuation map didn't suit the room but is made for the next room. Furthermore, it needs to be updated as the layout of the rooms showed on the plan doesn't correspond to reality.
- Willie (10/5): We enjoyed our stay and will stay again. - The breakfast variety was excellent, the staff were friendly and polite.
