• Verified traveler (2/5): vies - extreem smerige kamer en vieze badkamer. Gangen stinken en tapijt ziet eruit alsof er vlooien inzit. Vriendelijke man achter de balie. Ik ben niet gebleven. De vloer van de kamer plakte aan mijn schoenen.

Chambre réservée en travaux, pas de visu de ma résa, Chambre de remplacement avec télécommande HS, Wifi hors portée, pas de protection matelas, pas vraiment de draps, voisins du dessus à fond jusqu'à 00h, et voisins du dessous à fond jusqu'à... 3 heures. J'ai bien essayer de changer de chambre mais l'autre était pire en terme de bruits. Bref, pour 80 euros 4 heures de sommeil...un 3 étoiles... comment dire ....

• Daniel (8/5): petit,propre,confortable;p'tit dèj bas de gamme - petite chambre sur cour très calme, propre, lit confortable, eau chaude, internet trèèès lent mais qui fonctionne, personnel à l'écoute, ascenseur à partir du 1er étage, très bien placé en face de la gare, à deux minutes du centre des congrès et de l'espace pompidou (astuce : traverser la gare) et 10mn du centre, parking à prix réduit à 50 m, arrêt de bus en face. juste deux points faibles : déco tristounette style conforama (pas comme sur la photo) et petit dèj' avec des produits bas de gamme et jus d'orange (à base de concentré) moussant : verre mal rincé ? mais cafés et restos à proximité.

Henkilökunta tuli aamuyöstä n. klo 4 huoneeseen ja pelästytti meidät jonka jälkeen poistuivat selittämättä mitään. Seuraavana päivänä he pahoittelivat tapahtumaa ja lupasivat hyvittä kaupunkiverossa, vaan sekään ei pitänyt paikkansa !

• Rouven (4/5): Unverschämt. - Wir sollten 2 Nächte bleiben aber sind nach einer wieder gereist 2 Nacht leider verschenkt . Es war nicht sauber Schimmel in der Dusche Wasser lief nicht ab. In der dusche und Waschbecken . Hotel sieht super auf den Bildern aus aber in echt ganz anderst !

Sans parler de la porte de douche ! Hotel choisi pour sa proximité de la gare. Il manquait la clim mais on ne pouvait pas prévoir la canicule ;)

Het is bekend dat dit soort oude gebouwen juist onveilig zijn als er brand is.Geen rookmelders en vluchtroutes zijn er niet.Kamers waren te klein en voelt benauwd aan. Ook staat op de site dat die 3 sterren heeft maar hij heeft er 2. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar.Ook de ramen konden niet open omdat er veel duiven waren die of op de vensterbank zaten en zo mogelijk naar binnen konden.Ook hun uitwerpselen zaten op de vensterbank,ook het hang en sluitwerk werkte niet goed.

• Hollandapanda (10/5): - SNCFのMetz駅が間近にあり、周囲に食事処も多いです。 長距離バスの乗り場は駅の反対側にあり、歩いて15分程度の距離です。 街の中心まで歩いて行けますが、バスも便利です。 交通の便利の良さの他は、格別特記することはありません。 普通の旅行者向けの良いホテルだと感じました。

There was no air conditioning and our south facing room got hot during the day. It did cool off in the evening but with only a door for ventilation, things got stuffy during the evening rains.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - Das Dreibettzimmer hat Fenster zum Hof. in dem eine Unzahl von Tauben nisten und GURREN. Das Fenster des Badezimmers kann man gar nicht offenlassen, weil genau dort die Tauben ihren Kot hinterlassen. Die Duschkabine ist unappetitlich. Ich habe vor ca. drei Jahren schon einmal im Hotel Alerion gewohnt, ganz oben mit kleinem Balkon und Blick auf den schönen Bahnhof, und war diesmal enttäuscht! Teilweise konnte man sich nur ganz rudimentär auf Englisch verständigen (auf Deutsch gar nicht, das ist ok.). Der Frühstücksraum ist hell und freundlich, das Frühstück sehr in Ordnung! Direkt gegenüber dem Hotel gibt es Parkplätze mit 30 Minuten gratis fürs Einchecken etc. Aber auch die Tiefgarage bietet diesen Service. An der Rezeption bekommt man außerdem eine Bestätigung des Hotel, die die Parkkosten reduziert.

• Benoit (8/5): - L hotel est à 2 pas de la gare et la chambre était propre. Par contre les fenêtres ferment mal et du coup entre la rue et les pigeons pas forcément simple de dormir. Sinon un bon endroit pas trop cher pour une nuit.

Donc je ne pouvais logiquement pas prendre mon petit-déjeuner à l’hôtel . Puisque celui-ci était servi à partir de 8h. Il mon proposé de le prendre avant pour que j’ai le temps. Sinon,Chambre propre, simple efficace. J’ai bien aimé la literie et oreillers.

• CHRISTINE (8/5): Bon hôtel a recommander. - Très bon hôtel. Très bien situé près du centre ville et du grand centre commercial muse. Personnel sympathique et disponible. Très bon acceuil. La chambre donnait sur la rue mais aucun bruit. Bonne literie. Seul inconvénient petite salle pour le petit déjeuner il y a de l attente mais un fois installé il y a tout ce qu il faut pour se restaurer (chacun trouve son bonheur) et c est tres bon. Je retournerais à cet hôtel et le recommande sans souci.

On a trouvé une bouteille de bierre vide dans le balcon en plus un mouchoir sur l’étagère. Le ménage n’a pas été fait , on nous a déposés les serviettes et pas plus. Les rideaux des fenêtres sales. Pas de clim dans les chambres , L’ascenseur en panne toute la journee ( donc descendre avec les valises du 4eme etage )????.

• thierry (8/5): Bon hôtel de passage - Situé juste en face de la gare, il est particulièrement bien placé pour ceux qui viennent à titre professionnel. il est situé également à proximité du Centre Pompidou. le centre-ville est un peu plus loin. L'accueil est sympathique et les chambres agréables, pas trop impersonnel et plutôt bien conçu. rien à dire - à recommander.

• A (4/5): Direkt am Bahnhof - Das Zimmer war auf der Hofseite, klein sehr einfach eingerichtet. Die Dusche und Toilette eine Katastrophe !Sehr, sehr klein. Das frühstück sehr einseitig. Wir haben drei mal gefrühstückt und immer das gleiche war angeboten.
• Cédric (2/5): Déplorable et pas professionnel (bloqués dehors!) - Nous sommes arrivés sur Metz après la fermeture de la réception. N'ayant reçu aucun appel ou mail de l’hôtel, nous nous sommes retrouvés bloqués devant l’hôtel avec impossibilité de rentrer (digicode à l'entrée) et personne ne répondant au n° téléphone de l’hôtel. Après appel à Hotels.com qui a annulé notre réservation, nous avons dû trouver un autre hotel sur Metz, ce qui nous a fait arriver à l'autre hotel à 1h30 du matin !! De plus, l'hotel a refusé de rembourser la réservation ! Très déplorable !

• Linda (6/5): Low-budget feel, but clean, convenient - For the price, Hotel Alerion was fine. It was very clearly in the budget category, though, with threadbare carpeting in the stairs leading up to the lobby, and rather old bathroom fixtures and undersized shower stall. After 11 p.m., guests must use an access code to get into the hotel. I assume this means there is no front desk staff, but I'm not certain. As a solo traveler, I didn't like the idea of having no one at the front desk; it feels a bit unsafe. My room was small with no amenities (no coffee maker, for example). However, it was in the lowest price category. Maybe the other rooms are better. The bed was comfortable. Hotel's location is convenient; directly across from the train station and relatively pleasant 10-15 minute walk to the cathedral and oldest parts of the city.

• Henri (6/5): Convenient in town - Ageing hotel but located in town before the railway station. Rooms are large enough, not the bathroom. No restaurant but nice "Brasserie" downstairs. A 15 minutes walk to unique old city center by the river with absolutely nice old buildings and eating/ drinking places.

• james (6/5): Budget stop over - One night stay, basic hotel right beside main train station and station underground car park. Hotel gives you a voucher to reduce parking fee which is good. . Good location. Rooms basic but OK for a one night stay. No AC and did get warm as it was August.
• Peter J (8/5): A pleasant no-frills stay - Cheap, no-frills, near the railway station and good bus links; an easy walk from the city centre. We saved money by having a back-facing room, but the real distinction of this hotel is its front-view of the square and magnificent station building.
• Emmanuel (10/5): Nice hotel in a nice area - Very friendly and efficient receptionist, no AC but the room and bathroom were very nice, short walk to the old part of town which had a cathedral with the most amazing stained glass. Had a beer in the square and listened to some live music. Had dinner next to the hotel with a very informative waiter, he explained that the railway station across the road was build as a palace in the early 20th century.

The grandly built RR station across the street is silent as the trains come in underground. Breakfast provided enough choices and was good.
• James (4/5): Good but not 24hr reception - Good hotel but arrived late to find no way to access the hotel. This was not clear in the booking. Went to another hotel for the first night. They were apologetic and refunded the night, but not really acceptable. Otherwise, great little hotel.

Reception staff on arrival very helpful. Bed comfy and pillows. Let down by noisy location for us. 10 minute walk to centre. Won't return due to disturbances.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Easy walk to station - We really enjoyed our Metz stay of two nights. A relief after tiny hotel rooms in Paris. The Alerion is near to everything so therefore subject to early morning noise on the street side of the hotel. Service and breakfast were all good. I would visit again.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Good, practical accommodation for a short break - For those wanting a no frills but clean and friendly base from which to explore this charming city, this hotel makes a good choice. Pavement cafes proliferate in the area, as do restaurants and it make a good base to explore from. It's proximity to the central station means that the area does attract the disadvantaged/ 'ne're do wells', depending on your point of view, but there is a significant Railway police presence in the station and immediate environs, so the area does not feel unpleasant and during my stay felt safe to walk around, day or night. If you're travelling without a car Metz is very walkable, but for ease of getting around the newly constructed transport system is excellent.
• Lloyd (8/5): A great base for the Metz region - The hotel was close to the station, and had both a great bed, sufficient storage and a neat bathroom. The breakfast was good value for money and well presented and attennded - a good start to each day.

• Michael (8/5): Clean, convenient, friendly - After staying in cramped and noisy quarters in London and Paris, the Hotel Alerion was a welcome change. The location directly across from the railway station is extremely convenient. Bus service is right there, making it really easy to get anywhere in town. The front desk staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was large by European standards, as was the bathroom. It was nice to have a shower with sufficient water pressure. We had good meals close by - we especially recommend Romarin, two blocks north, for a great dinner. The double bed in our room was too hard for my spouse, but she slept well on the single in the same room. The elevator is cramped, so be prepared to squeeze in with your bags. The patisserie right outside the hotel entrance offers a terrific breakfast of coffee and pastry for 3.20E, and a genuine French experience. We were very happy here, and it made our visit to Metz a real pleasure. Definitely recommended.
