Guest Reviews
- Sophie (10/5): 100% recommend, can’t wait to come back. - The property was beautiful, the food amazing and the staff were phenomenal, specially Caleb and William (our game drivers). We were incredibly well looked after as we visited for honeymoon, the team very kindly upgraded us to the honeymoon suite, where we even had elephants come by our pool at night! We didn’t miss a drive and were very fortunate to be surrounded by several other lovely couples. We managed to spot almost all of the big 5 on our trip and Caleb and William, were the best guides and hosts, informing us all about the wildlife and even extending the drives to ensure we saw as much as we could at every opportunity. Nothing
- Heidi (9/5): Excellent - Everything The food was excellent but a bigger variety of the food could have been better
- Annah (10/5): -
- Edzisani (10/5): - The food, game drives, staff hospitity, privacy in the rooms Maybe consider having a TV
- Letjobana (4/5): okay - The amount we paid is not worth the place. just disappointed by the overall look and price.
- Romee (9/5): -
- Bezuidenhout (10/5): - The staff were amazing- friendly, helpful, exceptionally well informed and trained. The meals were top class and taccommodation was beautifully situated opposite a water hole. I would have liked to have seen more 57 Waterberg specific items for sale in the shop. An establishment of this calibre should include limited drinks in the price.
- David (10/5): Great stay, enjoyed the tranquility, the food, game drives - Its an amazing place. They must just warn guests about travel times from the main gate, we ended up being late for our afternoon game drive and we forfeited it. Everything was spot on.
- Tumelo (9/5): -

Sehr freundliches Personal und kompetenter Fahrer War alles okay
- Mathew (10/5): Must stay for safari, honeymoon, luxurious stay! - 57 Waterberg is an absolute dream stay if you are visiting South Africa for Safari. The property is absolutely amazing and the staff constantly go above and beyond to satisfy your every need. From the moment we arrived at the pick up gate to the moment we left we were treated with nothing but professionalism and kindness. Our every need was met at every turn and then some. We were on our honeymoon and they even gave us a private dinner one night. It was truly above and beyond in every single way! I would highly recommend you do every single game drive, it can be a long day but there is plenty of time to relax in between! This is absolutely a must stay in the South African bush!
- Sibusiso (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Cobus (10/5): - Very Nice

- Rimmert S. (10/5): Droomverblijf en onvergetelijk! - Supervriendelijk personeel. Geweldige gidsen bij de game drives. Het eten was ook fantastisch en de lodge was zeer comfortabele en uiterst smaakvol ingericht. Voor ons onvergetelijk en zeer aan te bevelen! Niets
- Struan (10/5): Amazing honeymoon destination! - Amazing lodge, super modern rooms - and we had the extra treat of an elephant visiting our pool. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive, both on the drives and in the lodge, and we were very well fed throughout our stay.

- Nicholas (10/5): -
- Jaco (10/5): -
- Zuzelchen (10/5): - Wir hatten die Luxury Lodge mit einem wunderschönen Ausblick in die Berge bezogen. Der Guide bei den Game drives war super nett und hat uns viel über die Tiere erzählen können.
- milondzo (10/5): Loved everything about the place , food, hospitality, we reall had a great time ♥️ - The privacy, great place for romantic vacation none
- Maurice Raphael (10/5): 57Waterberg is pure luxury – not through money, but through peace, nature, and unforgettable moments - It’s hard to focus on just a few points because our stay was full of unique experiences and wonderful people.
First and foremost, our guide William, who made every game drive truly special. His fearless yet confident approach and his skills gave us moments that were really unique. From a wildebeest chased by a cheetah, to rhinos in battle, and even an elephant herd that saw us as unwelcome guests – it had everything, from fascination to full-on adrenaline. To us, he is a real gift, and I can’t promise we wouldn’t follow him to another lodge if he ever left 57 Waterberg.
The service was exceptional as well. Kenny, Ruben, and Piet spoiled us with culinary delights and seemed to know our preferences before we even did. At the same time, the housekeeping team made sure our room was perfectly prepared – including folded laundry and thoughtful details we never expected.
Another highlight was the daily massage. Helene and Salomone are true professionals who know exactly what they’re doing. In the last days, a special connection developed that felt almost like friendship.
We will definitely return. Whether in one year or five – 57 Waterberg will always be our place to recharge and disconnect. No other hotel will come close anytime soon. And we truly hope that most of these amazing people will still be there when we return.
PS: And Rita, you are a gift as well – thank you for your amazing organization! There is nothing about this hotel that we didn’t like – at least nothing the hotel could be held responsible for. The location, the service, the atmosphere: everything was exceptional and made our stay truly special.
Of course, staying at one of the most beautiful places on earth also means sharing experiences like game drives with other guests. Occasionally, you meet people who are less interested in the wildlife and unique moments and instead spend the game drive sleeping in the back seat, waiting for the coffee break to snap photos for their next Instagram story. But that’s the exception. 99% of fellow travelers share the same enthusiasm for nature.
- Muzi (3/5): Very bad stay which started with an over 3 hour wait at the parking and collection area, it was adve - The service could be much better for the establishment of that cost
- Christo (10/5): - The food and hospitality
The informative game drives and experience We enjoyed our visit
- mutshaeni (10/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): Heaven on earth - Location, facilities, accommodation, staff, game drives. It was all perfect! The road to the lodge is challenging, even in a twin-cab!
- Hope (9/5): The perfect bush retreat, comfortable room, great game drives, unforgettable food. What a treat! - Well planned out space, beautiful views
- Charmaine (7/5): Was nice bush experience - Location was good and staff welcoming There was loud music from another chalet which we had to complain about which the staff should have sorted out
- Pieter (10/5): For a luxury safari lodge stay in the Waterberg, look no further - We have visited 57 Waterberg before, two years ago. From a high base, the lodge has continued to improve even further since then. The food has taken a step up to authentic fine dining.
The staff's dedication to excellence, as well as their commitment to the guests and their good morale, is noticeable.
Small details are attended to, such as when to clean the rooms.
The luxury suites are a joy to stay in. A small gym may be a good idea.
- Munyaradzi (8/5): -
- Senzo (10/5): Excellent service all round. - Everything about the place I loved. That road leading to the property is extremely terrible. I am not sure if it maybe belongs to government but it sorts of kills your mood while going to the place.
- Kg (10/5): Out of this world 👌🏽👌🏽 - Everything from the views to cleanliness
- Adriaan (10/5): Exceptional - It is a beautiful property.
The staff and services are amazing.
The food is exceptional and well presented The game drives were excellent and the game ranger’s all around knowledge of the environment was great
- Stan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cheryl (10/5): Exceptional. - The food was amazing, and our game ranger (Ephraim) was also amazing.
- Oarabile (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tami (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nigel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colin (8/5): Very good - The staff were amazing - from the manager right through to every waiter and service staff. The food was incredible. Our game driver and guide was outstanding, so knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely room, although perhaps it might've been good have thatch to be more in touch with the bush. Whilst it was good to have fine dining, my past experience of being in the bush is that it can be nice to have buffet where you're able to experience different foods.
The reserve had a lot of rain prior to our arrival, roads were challenging and because it's very rocky terrain with many hills and valleys made it tough to get around. That said, the lodge made every attempt to make the best out of this situation.
True to say that 57 Waterberg go above and beyond to give you an optimal experience. They capture this in their Purpose and Values which they live every day.
- Catherine (9/5): Value for money, was as romantic as we imagined it to be - I love the location and hospitality was amazing considering how rainy it was Nothing

- Isabel (10/5): The best safari experience - We had an exceptional experience during our stay at 57 Waterberg. The lodge is small, private, modern and beautiful. The modern design of the suites is a joy. The food is next level. The staff were, without exception, super friendly and professional. The spa in-room treatments are also excellent. The game drives were great. All in all we cannot imagine a better safari experience.
Stuart and his team are truly excellent.

- Michelle (9/5): Amazing Breakaway! - The property is exceptionally, the staff friendly and helpful and the food is exquisite! We had the most wonderful time! Accommodation is spacious and the room is well thought out with all your heart might desire.
- Johann (8/5): Good relaxing stay. - Beautiful lodge, location and accommodation. Friendly Staff. Quality food, although the options are quite limited. Good relaxing stay with good privacy. The gravel road to the Welgevonden West Gate is not in a good state and is about a 45min drive, definitely in need of repair. Limited lunch and dinner options.

- Maupi (9/5): Lovely getaway 😁 - Very tranquil. Good for getaway from the city 😁 Set menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We should have a choice.

Game drives were the best The gravel drive from the main road. If you don't have a 4x4, disaster.
- Amanda (9/5): Superb -
- Zizile (9/5): Amazing stay celebrating hubby’s birthday - Very modern property. Staff was amazing, special thanks to Tumi who made our stay even more special. We didn’t see a lot of animals on the game drive.
- Nicola (9/5): Superb -
- James (10/5): Home from home in the bush, one of best bush overall experiences - The location on the west side of the reserve was amazing ,beautiful views and great game sightings. Staff were brilliant Maria at reception so welcoming and warm the service staff, Reuben and Kenny brilliant and friendly the 2 chefs fantastic meals all round. Stuart our guide from friendly to knowledgable and just a wonderful person to be around, made our stay feel home from home Nothing

- Verousha (10/5): Exceptional bush experience - The intimate feel of the resort and the luxurious bush experience.everything was lovely the accommodation, game drives and food and drinks quality. It was my birthday and the resort made extra effort. The massages were also exceptional. The stars in night game drive was also a highlight. Not much. Maybe ensure that adequate communication on arrival times because there was no reception getting there and we almost missed the game drive and waited 15 mins to be picked up but the reception made up for it swiftly. We did miss lunch though.
- Vusani (10/5): Fantastic stay all round. - Very welcoming and friendly staff. Great food and facilities.
And great Game drives. The road to the gate needs some work.
- Leechen (8/5): Very good -

- Tebogo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kgao (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fumani (9/5): Superb -
- Veronica (10/5): Excellent - Everything, the location, the stuff very professional and helpful Getting there was a mission, poor network service did not help as well
- Udjo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shirley (8/5): Amazing stay with unrivaled views and food to match - I loved the chefs presence and how tasty the food was. The room was stunning and clean; the pool was a spoil. We didn’t get to see all the animals we wanted but the game drives were great fun. We celebrated a birthday and they definitely put effort into making it special. Only one game drive included per night which meant you had to pay extra if you wanted to see more. It would have been nice if some drinks were included in the rate. Lastly the form at the end regarding allocating tips felt a bit tasteless and like it was an obligation
- Dzulani (10/5): Lovery gate away. - Everything was clean the staff are all amaizing The food. The menu is set you are not given an option for lunch. You end up eating something you don’t like. We were served asian for lunch which is don’t enjoy
- Gontse (10/5): Exceptional - Great chef, and beautiful food
- Cathy (10/5): Fantastic! - Everything. Exceptional staff
