Raghavan (3/5): Waste of money. Misleading hype and over rated property - LOCATION OF THE HOTEL The Vintage Gulmarg is an over rated property which is not worth even Rs 2500/- a night. I really dont know what the hype is all about.. Some of the run of the mill highway hotels are better than this one. Booking.com charged me Over Rs 22 K for two night stay in June 2025...going by the raving reviews I paid such a high price. Dim lit, Cramped property with stinking carpets and worn out spring mattresses which are unfit for anyone to sleep. The beds are like soggy bread loaves and will give you back aches for sure. To avoid hurting my back, I had to ask for an extra mattress and sleep on the floor. The restaurant is very small with very limited menu for breakfast. Only the location is good but except steeply prized studio rooms all others can only get trash can view from their windows. BEST AVOIDED.

All the staff was very nice from front office to waiters serving in the dining hall. Room service was excellent. The best part was the food , variety, service. Buffet breakfast was very good , lots of options .

Shammi (7/5): Good - clean, comfortable rooms We visited on Jan 11th n 12th 2025. Freezing in the Lobby during winter Had to remind staff to keep the fireplace in the lobby burning. If not, they wouldn't care. We had to remind them for room heaters, and they provided portable waters in high rooms after several reminders. Had to call the IT guys to operate room TV. The hotel should give the guests access to TV in their rooms other than having to call them each day to scan and enter their password.

Akash (1/5): Unsafe Hotel, locks not working - I had booked this hotel for my mother who was traveling alone. Upon entering the room she did not feel safe in the hotel: 1- The lock on her room was not working. This is completely unjustified. It's basic safety for anyone traveling.  2- The room was very unclean.  3- Next to the room was a storage room/small warehouse where a lot of men were coming back & forth, combined with the lock not working, very very unsafe.  4- The property staff got into an argument with her and was extremely rude 5- After a lot of argument she managed to change the room, which was again on the same floor and had issues. She did not feel safe at all & left to check into another hotel. She spent a total of 1 hour on the property and did not feel safe. Hotel refused to provide any money back & booking.com has been unhelpful as well. 1 star for both. Safety comes over everything & this hotel fails to do that.

The staff were very courteous and they always were ready to help whenever we needed . The location is very acccessible and you do get to visit to prime locations in a short span of time . The restaurant was also very good in terms of the spread of food . I had gone to celebrate my birthday to Gulmarg and the hotel staff baked a delicious cake ( asked for my flavour choice as well), which was also packed very well as i planned to carry it along with me when i returned to my hometown. Also the hotel management had ensured for taking our feedback everyday if things were fine or not and we needed any additional assistance

Very courteous and helpful staff To an extend overcourteous staff - got call into room from ?reception x 2 in 6 hours checking the comfort of the stay- one of them actually woke me up from sleep at 9 pm Wasnt recommended to open to windows due to monkeys around (totally understand). Even with heavy rain outside and outside temperature around 13 degree, the closed environment made the room very warm that woke me up at midnight. No aircon, just heater. Staff helped me with a fan that made me feel better to get back to sleep

Verified traveler (8/5): Good place, high rates - Good, clean property with good food and good service. But location is outside the 'official' Gulmarg area, which needs to be mentioned on the site. Ponywalas are a menace as soon as you step outside the hotel. One major disappointment was the rates provided online. We discovered that if we would have booked through a local person, we would have got the room at half the price with meals included! That did not leave us with a good feeling obviously!

The restaurant serves excellent meals. It is under utilized especially in the evening. Suggested that they have half-board offers with dinner included with traditional theme nights. This would encourage guests to stay in-doors during cold evenings.

anil kumar (6/5): Tall Claims - We stayed at this hotel on 21st November 2014 based on the reviews that we read. This hotel boasted of having central heating. It was indeed there, but SWITCHED OFF. Instead we were provided a room heater, which was completely inadequate as the evening (6.30 pm)temperature had dropped to minus 6 degrees C. The hotel staff when confronted why the central was not on, initially gave excuses that it was under repair, however had to switch it on our insistence. Cleverly it was switched off about 2 hours later. It was switched on again on our insistence, to be stealthily switched off an hour later. From about 11.00 pm onwards till next morning we had a horrible time in as we could not sleep with the room heater on as it was causing shortage of oxygen leading to breathlessness. For some time we even had to keep the corridor door open in the middle of the night to let fresh air in at the cost of cold. Eventually we spent the entire night without heating when the outside temperature would have been lower than minus 6 degress C. We later discovered that the central heating was switched off as only 3 out of 28 rooms were booked that night. Good food or courteous service are of no use if the hotel fails you at such critical times. Stay in this hotel at your risk.

Food at the restaurant was excellent and an ideal hotel for people with families and small kids. We plan to visit the same hotel again during winters. Great place and wonderful place. Keep it up !
