Guest Reviews
- Mahesh (10/5): - We had an amazing time at the camp. Food was great, the accommodations were clean, cozy, and comfortable. The entertainment provided by local group of singers and dancers was well done. We also took part in the camel ride activity and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. I wish I could upload pictures of Badshah, our camel and Kamal his driver.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great experience 😊 tents are comfortable and well maintained. Food was good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - While primitive, the peaceful atmosphere and brilliant service made the camp feel very much like home. And that's coming from two city-dwellers.:)
- Kaushik (10/5): - Excellent property with good hospitality. Gives the vibe of desert culture and tradition without light and sound pollution.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We liked the outdoor music and dance show and the camel ride in the morning
- Verified traveler (10/5): A great way to enjoy Rajasthan - We had a very comfortable stay. we enjoyed the evening entertainment, the food and the safari . The staff very polite and helpful. They got up at 4:45 to ensure that we had breakfast and tea when we had to leave by 5:30 am.
- vijay (10/5): Excellent stay in SAM - Excellent arrangement, very good food, staff is very much courteous. Rememberable stay in Sand.
- ANUPAM (8/5): - Excellent place to stay in the desert. Wonderful staff and service. Entertainment could be a bit better.
- Sarang (10/5): One of the best tent hotel in Sams - We checked in around 4 and immediately gone for camel ride which was 5 KM away from tent location. Evening cultural program was excellent and we enjoyed it a lot. Especially singers group was awesome. Though sunset is the most exciting time to see we loved sunrise also which was visible from just 200 meters from the tent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good stay - Tent was great. Cultural program at night was very nice and the camel safari was good too. Both dinner and breakfast was well planned. The manager tried to ask for additional resort fee of 2000 rupees per person as special rate for dec 21 to 31, however since our booking did not mention it anywhere,we did not pay it. But some agents do write this in fine print. So read the fine print carefully. Overall a very good experience
- Kutbi (8/5): small and neat - we had a decent stay. the food is average. it is a little away from where all majority of the camps are located which in a way is good as it is more peaceful. the staff is decent , but i would suggest you confirm and reconfirm your booking with the hotel as we were in for a bit of a rude surprise when we were asked to pay for an extra person even though we had paid for it while booking itself. Besides that unpleasant incident we had a good stay for the nite.
- Mukul (8/5): Fantastic Service - Will remember for courteous staff, good food & evening program. Mr Dheeraj was especially helpful and ensuring stay was comfortable for all. anyone planning a visit do call the resort and inform them with your plans in advance.
- mahesh (8/5): Nice tent facility in the desert - It was wonderful experience, we were welcomed warmly by the manager, relaxing atmosphere, we were taken to camel safari ,than had very entertaining local music and Faulk dance with, very tantalising dinner. Night was cold, but had enough blankets provided, morning was good and again had lovely breakfast. Best hospitality we experienced.
- South Paws (8/5): Very pleasant experience - We were pleasantly surprised with the place. The camps looked well maintained, with tasteful decor and ambience. The staff was helpful. We were never at inconvinience at any point in time (with the exception of hot water being unavailable for bathing purposes). The only constructive feedback that i can share is better spread options for breakfast. The dinner was well taken care of.
- Rahul (8/5): Brilliant facility - Clean rooms, pleasant staff and good service. The best part was the cultural show which was well organised and professional.. Thoroughly enjoyed. The only flip side is that its a little far from Sam dunes. If you insist, the hotel guys will provide transport arrangements for free
- Jong (8/5): Loved the Swiss tents, folk dances and buffet food - In our time in Jaisalmer we decided to spend each night in different accommodations, in the fort and the desert. This was the most comfortable option in terms of accommodation, with comfortable rooms, great shower, abundant meals and peaceful surrounding. The stay included a camel ride, an evening of traditional music and dance, and all our meals.
Having spent one night at the Thar Dunes with Thar Desert Tours, we felt that the trip to Sam Sam Dunes was a bit of a "tourist circus". I would definitely recommend to visit other dunes if you are looking for tranquility, etc. The rest was fantastic, we really enjoyed the hour long show of traditional dance and music and the abundant meals.
We also enjoyed a lot the fact that we were the only international tourist. We had the opportunity to meet nationals from all over India, which was great!
Definitely a great stay!!
Keep in mind that, if your booking arrangements do not include transport from/to the train stations the average cost to get here will be 800-1200rs each way since the camp is 40km away from Jaisalmer.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Camp with comfort - Location is very good. Tents were clean n comfortable. Room service was good. Quality of breakfast, lunch n dinner was also good.I recommend this place for Open, peace & relaxing environment.
- bala-g (8/5): good feel of desert - was good, courteous staff. suggest you put more directions from the time we enter jaisalmer. some additional entertainment / traditional dance will make it more enjoyable.
- Vikrant (2/5): Honeytrap! Go ahead fool yourself - Staying at this property comes closest of a feeling of being hijacked especially for where it is located. I say this not because how isolated the location is (I mean it, it can be scary for group of female travellers) but how you are treated especially when you are so dependent on the hotel for your transportation / food. The property manager will take complete advantage of the fact, that you're at their mercy now. This also holds true for the exhorbitant food prices they'll charge you. Trust me,it is not even worth it. Initially I was thrilled by wanting to stay at an isolated location but now I see what you tend to loose. Jaisalmer station is 26 kms away and to drop you in a pathetic non AC hatcback (Tata Indica) will set you back by INR 1,800/- !!! There's absolutely nothing available at this property and a closest store to pick some knick knacks is further west 3 miles but trust me you won't think of stepping out of this property boundaries considering the location. So if you're still thrilled to try this for yourself, just ensure you've made your own transport arrangements and negotiated well or you'll only leave yourself exposed to this hotel management which by far makes money on helpless guests and the situation they put themself in. Precisely why I call this place a honeytrap!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very Good - Very good desert camp. Great Hospitality. Staff is always ready to please guests. Recommended for one and all.
