- Travelersforsure (10/5): Paradise Awaits You! - After reading the other reviews, we were pleasantly surprised by this resort! The grounds are gorgeous, the bungalows spacious and comfortable, and the food (including the buffet) delicious. We walked to the nearby beach several times to swim in the ocean, walk the black sand, and take amazing photos. This resort is THE perfect escape after a busy time in Antigua, Lake Atitlan, San Juan island, Flores, and Tikal. It is well worth the 2.5 hour trip from Guatemala City. We would love to return!

- JULIA ENRIQUETA (4/5): - Terribly expensive for what you get. All inclusive was a complete joke and a huge rip off!! We left a day early even though we paid for another night. Could not wait to leave.
Food was less than average at best.
- Azahea (10/5): - Great priperty brst kn Puert San Jose. Competitive pricing, clean areas throughout, great housekeeping amd staff. Great amenities all around with theatre, bar, pools and kiddie area and beach access.
- Leonel (4/5): - The personnel is excellent. They are very polite and hospitable. The pool has mold all over. In general the pool shape really bad. It needs to be remodeled. The dinner buffet is horrible. It tasted like food I can make at home, not like the food a professional chef cooked, which a resort of this category should have. Very mediocre food. I’d give this place a 2.5 star resort, maybe a 3.0 star really pushing it. But never a 4 star like they preaume to be
- Azahea (10/5): - Beautiful high end property with friendly staff.
- carlos (10/5): - That the pool closest to the beach, closed early
- Samuel (8/5): - I think they can improve the staff
- R4961TMdeborahf (2/5): Never again. - I’ve been coming to Hotel Soleil Pacífico for years with my family whenever we visit from the U.S., and I used to genuinely love this place. Sadly, after my most recent visit, I can confidently say I will never return—and I can’t recommend it anymore.
This last experience was nothing short of disappointing. A few of the younger kids in our group ended up with cuts on their feet from the pool floor, which should absolutely not be happening in a resort pool. The poolside chairs were filthy and clearly not maintained. But the worst part? I was personally insulted by one of the bartenders—completely unprovoked and extremely unprofessional.
I calmly brought the issue to the attention of management, hoping they would handle it with the seriousness it deserved. Instead, I was met with a half-hearted “sorry” and zero accountability or attempt to resolve the situation. As someone who often shares travel recommendations, I feel a responsibility to speak honestly—and this experience was beyond upsetting.
Never again. This resort has gone downhill and no longer reflects the standards of hospitality or care it once did.
- Carmen (10/5): - If you have kids it’s the perfect place ! Private beach amazing
- Cún (6/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): - La comida El sanitario tenía problemas
- Lilian (10/5): - areas
es espectacular
- Selvin (4/5): - Front desk very slow, it takes too long to check in and check out also very slow, front desk personal didn’t offer any promotions any deals, restaurant for lunch took almost an hour after ordering our food.
- Megan (5/5): Passable -
- sperling1988 (10/5): Fun for families - This is a great place to stay in an area of the country without that many great options.
First and foremost the facilities are very clean. The cleaning staff does an excellent job here.
The water park is one of the best I’ve ever seen anywhere. My kids absolutely loved it.
If you have a group that loves drinking alcohol consider the inclusive packages as alcohol is included.
Finally, this hotel is super cool about people staying on premises for a few hours after checkout which is awesome if you need to go elsewhere and check in is at 3.
Only slight complaint is the food is sometimes hit or miss though I had some good meals too. But the best food in this area is still found in local restaurants.
If you surf also, the beach isn’t that great though there’s options to do so at La Barrita about 20 mins away.
- Mario (10/5): - Excellent service. Love the food, the facilities. We had a great time!
- Walter (8/5): Very good -
- Dawn (7/5): Overall a great family vacation spot but ultimately expensive! - The property was beautiful! The rooms were spacious and clean! Great access to pools and the ocean! Food was delicious! The property was fairly expensive for a family! You get charges by the person and not by the room! Children over 10 are considered adults! The beds were fairly hard! Dinner menu was lacking detail and so there was unexpected condiments! Staff were pleasant but lacked the ability to recognize mistakes and means/knowledge to find solutions!
- Alejandro (10/5): - It was great nothing to complain about
- Cano (6/5): Met my goal halfway, I needed to relax and have some peace and quiet. - Location, food was decent, some of the staff really like their work and performed it to the best of their ability. Guest like to leave food plates on the pool chairs, one member of the staff showed up but only collected plastic cups, if they had carts one person could collect everything and have a small broom and dust pan to really babysit guest that had one drink too many.
- Jairo (9/5): Relaxing. - Everything, specially the access to the beach. The floor of the big swimming pool
- Viviana (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (10/5): - Nice place to relax - Several good pools - Decent breakfast - On the beach - Not many beach chairs - Decent restaurant - Nice big rooms
- Heidy (10/5): - This hotel is huge , very nice palm trees
- veronica (8/5): - The resort was really nice the swimming pool really nice too the food excellent . But l had some inconveniences with my booking. The customer service awful they give. Really hard time with the booking and breakfast included. They didn’t had the information in the computer and they refused to give me my breakfast included. Bad customer service the sheets in the bed were clean but the skirt look nasty . Ho edtly l will come back to that resort.
- Hilce (10/5): - Our overall experience was great! We absolutely enjoyed the natural beauty of the property. We did not feel safe outside of the hotel area.
- Debbie (10/5): Peaceful and tranquil. Great food and staff - Gorgeous property. Beautiful design Nothing
- Hotel (8/5): Very good -
- Vacation33688440301 (4/5): Unfriendly servers and outdated rooms and space - I was here 10 years ago and nothing has changed, so it all feels and looks so outdated. The rooms have outdated fans that sound like it's about to fall off, old beds, poor bathroom lighting, broken door handles, hard to open sliding door to patio, etc. The restaurant menu also outdated, food was just OKAY, they should add new dishes and desserts. Poolside bars were mostly closed, when opened they lacked water and ice. The servers were unfriendly, had to ask several times for drinks and always got an attitude or just ignored all together. I booked a massage, but the masseuse was a no show after waiting 15 minutes, 30mins to get a refund for that. I was then approached by one of their "club med" like sales person, said I would get a "free" room for a night in one of their hotels if I listened to their sales pitch for 20mins, which I did and they had me running around to get the "free" room voucher, which ended up not being "free". You actually have to pay $54 and it comes with several rules and regulations on how and when you get to use it making difficult for you to actually use. Needless to say, this was not a great visit to this resort, won't be coming back. I would recommend Oceana resort near the same area, much more modern, cleaner, friendly staff and great food and atmosphere.
- Bessie (2/5): Outdated rooms, rude servers, poor food options - I was here 10 years ago and nothing has changed, so it all feels and looks so outdated. - Ana (10/5): - I likes everything in here.
- Erik (7/5): Good -
- Miguel (10/5): - Nace Resort
- Vilma (6/5): - Facilities are old and need to be updated. Beach was dirty, food choices are poor and need more mariscos in the menu. Resort is overpriced.
- Adrian (6/5): - All activities are convenient
- Jackeline (2/5): - The resort looked like at one time it might have been great. It's run down, the food was terrible, pool dirty and jacuzzi had cold water. The beach was dirty and limited seating. The restaurant meal package was not explaines. However, would not have been worth it. The patio had no furniture to enjoy it. Would not recommend or return.
- Oscar (8/5): - Personal was so kind
- Jaime (8/5): Very good -
- Mynor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steffen (7/5): stay was good, will book again - Breakfast was good, pool was clean, personal very friendly beach was full of rubbish, rain Management not working, Moskitos
- Alexandra (9/5): Superb -
- Guillermo (7/5): I’m member of the hayatt resorts but I like this hotel - Breakfasts is delicious and the location is very close to airport and the transportation is available for the people just arriving from the airport I just see a person when i saluted with a buenas noches she just giggled and didn’t answer back make feel the Latinos are behind the white sorry for this .
- Frances (8/5): Very nice and we had a good time. - Breakfast was great. All food was good but limited menu options for ala cart
Great children’s areas and tv options
Friendly staff especially in restaurant with 2 year old.
The best children’s pool area I have ever seen. The shower was awful. More restaurant options would be good
- sheilaele (8/5): Great stay with some flaws - Hotel Soleil Pacifico in Guatemala offers a generally pleasant stay with several notable highlights.
Pros:
- Spacious Rooms: The rooms are really big, and the AC works perfectly fine.
- Large Bathroom: The bathroom is huge.
- Convenient Amenities: They provide free filtered water in the hallways, and our room came with a balcony on the top floor, which was great to have. The convenience of an elevator was much appreciated.
- Quiet Weekday Stay: We stayed during the weekdays, which was cheaper and very quiet—perfect for our couple's trip when we wanted privacy and relaxation.
- Friendly Staff: The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
- Good Breakfast Buffet: The breakfast buffet was great, and you can still order Uber Eats, which is convenient.
Cons:
- Outdated Facilities: The hotel is a bit outdated. Our mirror was broken, and while it's not dirty, it's not necessarily as clean as one might expect. The swimming pool and communal areas are also a bit outdated and not very well-maintained.
- Food Issues: The food wasn't impressive. I had a situation where I requested my food not be cooked on the same dishes as seafood due to an allergy, but my refried beans tasted like shrimp. My partner confirmed this, and they had to change my order, which was inconvenient and potentially dangerous. In general, the food is good but a bit expensive.
- All-Inclusive Option: We opted not to get the all-inclusive package because my partner and I don't really drink, so it wasn't worth our while.
- Towel Policy: The practice of leaving one ID per towel is true. We didn't have any issues with it, probably because we came during the weekdays when it wasn't crowded, but I can see how it could become a problem during busier times.
- Insects: While we didn't have any cockroach problems, there are always some insects around, which is typical for a beach location.
Conclusion:
Despite some drawbacks, Hotel Soleil Pacifico offers a good deal for what you get. It's not necessarily on the cheaper side, but the friendly staff, convenient amenities, and quiet weekday stay made it a positive experience overall. I would definitely stay here again.
- Ileana (10/5): - A little bit old, pool with a lot of chemicals… my son’s pool shirt got yellow! For the rest, good according to price
- Alicia (10/5): - We had a great experience! The property was very clean and extremely well kept.
The staff was amazing! I recommend it.
- Luis (2/5): - Not what we expected - loose tile pool dirty etc.
- Claudia (2/5): - Didn’t like the service, food was not good and overpriced.
- John (2/5): - NOT
- Maria (2/5): - Just a bad experience, bad food, bad service and the rooms real bad
- 879marilouc (2/5): Terrible all inclusive hotel, BAD service - I do not recommend staying at this place. The service is terrible and their towel service is a joke. They make you leave your ID for 1 towel per person. While we were there, someone took our towel and turned it in. They left their towel, so we turned in their towel. Since we didn’t turn in our towel, they insisted on charging us $20 for the towel; even though all towels were returned. Nothing was lost. So we had to pay for a towel even though it was never lost. This place is so low class, they are fighting over a towel. We will NEVER return. The food is terrible and the alcoholic beverage options are bad. They have the cheapest alcohol offerings. They don’t have a full bar menu.
- Henry (2/5): - The people are not helpful I booked all inclusive and had to pay for drinks and food, the people at the bar did not know how to fix drinks terrible place for an all inclusive. I do not recommend this place.
- Jessica (6/5): - Average place. Average customer service.
- Carlos (6/5): - The hotel needs to reinvest in key facilities. Example the pool itself the tiles are falling apart, the tiles around the pool had a film of dirt, the beach is dirty and it needs to be cleaned and the rooms definitely need to be remodeled and cleaned better.
- gmaucoin (2/5): Cockroaches - There were cockroaches in our unit. They moved us to a different unit, but we checked out the next day; four days early. The buildings are old and not well maintained. The kitchen was not equipped with basic cooking equipment. The gym smelled very musty and most of the machines did not work. The beach was dirty.
- Jessica (7/5): Make sure you stay somewhere else - The beach and pools That I got crazy messages via WhatsApp threading to make a payment outside of booking.com to guarantee my room. I refused multiple times and was threaten that they would cancel my reservation even when I explain it was confirmed on booking already. I wasn’t sure if my elder grandmother was going to go they made me pay upfront she wasn’t able to go and they refused to refund me the amount for 1 person. This should not be allowed on booking!!!!
- Cesar (7/5): Good -
- A722DZerikae (10/5): Get lost in paradise - I just came back from staying at this hotel last week and I'm appalled at reading the reviews. Nothing about the hotel advertising claims to be the Four Seasons, yet that's what it seems the reviewers are expecting. The reason you want to stay at this hotel is for its stunning grounds, not for whether a building looks like it was built in the last few years or not. Are the grounds absolutely gorgeous, incredibly well kept, chock full of nature's beauty, safe, and fun? 1,000% yes!! Could the buildings be invested in? Sure, but why? It is totally not necessary and matter of fact, it would take away the rustic feel which is super charming! Most importantly, beds were comfortable, AC was cold, and the rooms were super clean. I could have used a refrigerator in my room for my medicine but the staff was kind enough to help me with that. So, as another paradise loving visitor, this is it!! If you want luxury, I consider this luxury for all the reasons I mentioned above but if your definition is the boring Ritz-Carlton, then choose that hotel instead! :)
- David (4/5): - I would not waste your time or money on this place, terrible service, could not get a cup of coffee., ignored by the staff, no water in tbe room.
- Mayra (10/5): - The Beach very nice we don’t like the pool’s
- Joli (7/5): Good -
- Chelsey (6/5): - They charged a beach towel someone took while we were in the pool and the staff took our personal towel from the room. Expensive and rundown place
- Lucy (8/5): - Lil piece of paradise
- daniellac883 (6/5): It was ok for the day, glad I did not pay for all inclusive - We came here for the day in March 2023. I honestly was not impressed. The lobby is extremely outdated kind of like stepping into a Time Capsule of the 1980’s. It could definitely use new and modern furniture, some nice fresh paint and better decor. Check in was fine. Change rooms are basically a washroom with a few stalls..not convenient at all. The pools are nice, large and clean with good music but the chairs are horrible..very old with what seems to be like gym mats on them so not comfortable. No poolside service so you have to go wait in line and wait every time you want a drink, and the service at the restaurant was extremely slow (im being generous when I say that) and the staff was not very knowledgeable and there was no sense of urgency to serve anyone. Food was ok once we finally got it. Beach was nice and clean. I definitely do not recommend the all inclusive, I do not feel that it is worth it. I think that for the prices that they charge customers they should really update the hotel. It has a lot of potential. Train the staff on better customer service, get better chairs, maybe build a bigger and better changing facility, poolside servers, and definitely an upgrade of the lobby. Would I come back? Perhaps but, only for the day and if improvements were made.
