Guest Reviews
- EDUARDO (6/5): - Room was no were near the advertised standard., though clean and with standard facilities.
Room had a strong mothballs smell, and being next to a main road, windows don't isolate enough from car's noise
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff are friendly and the room is reasonably priced. It would have been nicer if the room had a small desk.
- Kevin (6/5): SHOCKER - Last resort as I couldn’t get a real hotel avoid at all costs.
- Allan Robert (8/5): - good value for money. Nothing fancy but perfect and close to the Aberdeen hospital complex
- Jessica (4/5): Save money a different way - They didn’t have our pre-paid reservation when we arrived. I should have taken that as a sign to go somewhere else and figure out reimbursement later, but we stayed. Barely slept with other guests shouting in the hallways at night.
- Gavan (4/5): Not the best experience - This is what I had on my arrival. Eventually got the issue sorted reference the so called breakfast which was initially going to be a few biscuits.
Owner and his assistant need to up their game when it come to being polite to their customers.
Used this place many time and I think this maybe be the last. Was due back in 4 weeks booking 2 rooms however decided to take my business to an air b&b.
The breakfast issue was sorted however this situation has left a bad taste and it’s the owner loss.
They even had a dig as I took a complimentary mint at the desk.
The room was not replenished with tea bags.
They took all the biscuits away, thinking try to prove a point!
When I did get a box of cereal I was given no bowl or spoon.
When I asked for milk for the cereal I was told there was milk, it was the small tubs for the tea lol
If you provide a service it should be of a standard even if you think your rate is cheap and manners go a long way!
- Gavan (6/5): Breakfast - Everything good apart from the continental breakfast that is not good, especially that you have to eat it in your room on a tray and everything is extremely cheap and cheerful.
A bit of toast and some egg is not much to ask for :)
- Ali (8/5): - Good location. Basic, but adequate. Comfortable stay,
- Nancy (8/5): - I got upgraded to a double room which was nice. The lady on desk very pleaseant showed me around
And shown me the kitchen if i needed told me times of breakfast but unfortunatly i would be leaving before 8 i would recommend 5 *
- Linda (8/5): Good points and bad! - Rooms could do with a bit of TLC, staff really friendly, check in very efficient, good parking, nice continental breakfast delivered to the room.
- Margaret (8/5): - Very relaxing comfortable stay...host was very friendly. Breakfast was lovely.. ensuite immaculate....a lick of paint in the bedroom would have made this a perfect stay 👌
- Gavan (4/5): Return visitor - Stayed a few time and you get what you pay for however this time disappointed as no hot water, no cleaner, no change of towels, no bin empty and late breakfast.
The main staff member is always nice and does try to assist.
I was up graded from single to double room from day one that was great however all the issues above.
Would I come back probably as it is good value and I would hope this was a one off :)
- Verified traveler (6/5): Strange hotel attached to a life centre and church - My small single room did the trick for one night. Needed vacuuming and the shower was not priority sealed so there was water all over the floor after I showered. Breakfast was... unusual.
- Peter (8/5): Need better mattress - Everything about the hotel, room and service was very good apart from the bed. The mattress was low on the body side and that caused me discomfort in sleeping.
- Margaret (4/5): Bad stay - Was very disapointing only stayed for 1 night instead of the 8, it was ment to be a continental breakfast there was no choice of what you would like so we couldnt have breakfast and they didnt even over to get somthing else for us we were just told no sorry thats all we have ,apple juice 4 rolls and branflakes not what wat id call a breakfast.
- Elaine (8/5): Good central base - Value for money
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Uniqueness of a converted church.
Great breakfast .
Didn't like the thin walls.
- Duncan (6/5): Not Luxury at all but you get what you pay for - When Making the booking I expected a Near enough Luxury stay as that is what was claimed in the site. well I was pretty disappointed when I got there to discover that it was a converted church and that it was used for local groups, functions and other things. On arrival after finding the building, we pressed the phone retrieve button and eventually someone came to book us in, straight away without asking or showing us the room which we booked he then told us he was changing our room to another seemingly better room and not upstairs but downstairs so would save us going upstairs. Well if that was a luxury room I was already booked into and he had changed it to a better one...I am sure now it would be prefect. Well it wasnt luxury and it wasnt perfect, it was old and dated and pretty poor looking on the eyes, the bathroom was a bit of a mess, it was old and less than basic and it was cold, although there was a radiator in it which i eventually turned up a bit and it kinda helped. Considering the room and the building, well I looked at it as though you get what you pay for and the cost was very cheep and that was excellent. The dining room for breakfast was the main entrance people could walk in and out, rreally it wasnt a nice place to sit and eat your breakfast and the staff were very unhelpful to be honest. it self was self service, so items were in hotplates in the corner of the room. The eggs were cold and stuck together and looked like they had been lying days
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Comfay beds.and Great staff very home from home x
- Scott (2/5): Speechless - Panels on my bed broken.
My bed was also on a slant so had to wedge it up with towels as I kept rolling off.
Very noisy at night time also.
Emailed hotel with pictures to complain.
Had the worse sleep ever and was up for work early the next day.
Still waiting on response from. Hotel.
A full refund doesn't even do me justice.
Had a hellish night.
- M (10/5): Great place for short stay - Very pleasant stay.
Very good value, included full English breakfast.
- Frances (10/5): - The room was as comfortable and clean, breakfast was good and only a short walk to town. Staff are friendly and helpful.
- Simone (8/5): Unusual accomodation - Only a few TV channels working when we stayed this issue needs fixing. Great idea to convert a church to multi use facility serving community in many ways. More places should do this . Staff pleasant and helpful . Rooms pretty basic but did the job. Short on places to eat near by you need to drive in to town
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff were ver freindly and helpful. Beautiful building and just what we needed. We will be back 😀😀
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room was clean and comfortable. Free wi-fi, parking and a nice choice for breakfast, Toast. cereal and a self-service cooked breakfast.
Fantastic value, will definitely stay again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Go for just a room, clean and functional.
Seems to be an old church refuge in a church building. Limited personnel, not very nice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - In an old church which is really cool. The staff member who checked us in gave us a tour to get us to our room. The details given by Expedia said there was no front desk which is not true, they just lock the doors after 11 pm. Breakfast was a decent array with cereal, toast, eggs, beans, sausages, bacon, coffee, tea. Room was nothing special but did well for a one night stay. It is a bit far from things, which we knew when we picked it but Aberdeen is a bit spread out so I would go a little more central next time, but was happy with our stay here!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room and common areas were clean and well maintained
- Graham (8/5): Graham - Rosemout Palace - Inexpensive, free parking in the city with good self service breakfast
- Ian (4/5): - the showers was terrible kept going red hot then cold. this has been my worst stay here ever. not happy with the shower everything else was ok.
- Ian (6/5): Nice place but shower was terrible. - This was the worst of my visits to this place. The shower was terrible boiling hot then cold. Really poor show. Please have it fixed for the next customer.
- Olufemi (8/5): - Nice clean spacious rooms and bathroom.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Cheap, clean with a functional bed and a decent shower. A basic breakfast was included. This was worth exactly what I paid for it.
- Benjamin (10/5): Nice place - Nice and friendly staff, room was a nice cozy size. Your about a 15 minute walk away from Union Street and the shops. My only problem was that the walls were a little to thin, and could hear a person walking around the room. And then when there alarm went off at 6am, 6:05am and at 6:10 unlit they got up
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Was fine for the price but bit of astrange set up.
- Morayo (10/5): - Beds are very comfortable, although do remember to bring your own toiletries.
Overall I like it, it’s simple, comfortable and warm.
- IAN (8/5): One night solo stay - Staff were great and friendly ,breakfast was very good , only problem I had was bed was far too soft for me and I could hardly get any channels on tv but location was ideal for me and parking was free and easy to get a space.
- Ian (8/5): Nice and clean - Nice clean and warm. It’s a shame you don’t get a full service on the TV. Most of the channels are news. Wi-fi is a bit slow.
- Jo (4/5): - Felt like a hostel rather than hotel or B+B. Staff friendly was the best thing. The bed felt damp and bedding inadequate, The shower was good and the heating worked, but TV limited to news channels. I didn’t have breakfast there as the dining area reminded me of a community centre. I did not want to spend any time there other than to sleep it was not a good place to relax. Overall I was disappointed and would not stay there again but for younger guests on a tight budget it may be adequate.
- Jason (8/5): - Worked well not far from town. Confusing location when driving into it
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A hotel representing excellent value for money with clean rooms and pleasant staff.
- PAUL V (10/5): - Very nice room, nice breakfast & easy parking
- Darren (8/5): Work stay - Clean annd comfortable and tye breakfast was adequate. The guy on receotion was very helpful and friendly
- Irene (8/5): Fantastic to have parking in Central Aberdeen - Very nice stay, good parking in Central Aberdeen. Cooked full breakfast, tea making facilities in room.
Maintenance of decor in bedroom let’s the room down scraped paint on headboard wall needs touched up to make it an exceptional stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, close to the city centre - Nice hotel close to the city centre . Very close to social amenities . Breakfast was the same thing every morning, but very nice.
- David (8/5): - Quite good and pleasant service
- Verified traveler (8/5): We were in Aberdeen for one night and this locatio - The room was comfortable and adequate for what we required and we thought good value considering the low cost.
- John (6/5): - Comfortable. Decent breakfast. My room on first floor had recessed windows with inadequate window screens and curtains making it very light until 2230 and again from 0430 (summer)
- Michael (8/5): - Friendly staff! Cost room, showers could be updated though!
- faulty towers (2/5): - Walls were dirty and my room was stinking when i arrived. Dirty head marks on the paint work above the bed. My stay might have been cheap but I wasn’t expecting this!! I could not fault the staff tho!
