- Leo (10/5): - Bigger historic hotel with excellent staff, service, expansive breakfast. Beautiful well-maintained grounds and gardens. Facilities older, could be updated, but it WAS a monastery. Saw lots of maintenance work in progress. Well located across the street from Mercado San Pedro, but hotel is quiet, safe, unaffected by market activity. Convenient to buy fresh, inexpensive street food and fruits nearby. Easy walking distance 20-30 minutes to restaurants and shopping via Plaza de Armas.

- Susana (4/5): - Disappointing stay. The area and hotel entrance were dirty, and even though they claimed to upgrade us, they placed us in the same type of room we originally booked. We were downstairs and didn’t sleep due to constant noise from upstairs and construction — which we weren’t informed of in advance. Employees were loud, hanging out right outside our room during the day, so there was no rest at all. For the price we paid, the cold buffet and overall conditions were unacceptable.

- diptij955 (10/5): Good spacious property in the heart of Cusco - Great staff, clean and spacious rooms and good facilities. We stayed at this hotel twice in our 7 days trip to Cusco. Starting from airport pickup to drop everything went very smooth. We had to leave our luggage at the hotel when we left for our Machu Pichu hike and another activity. The staff was available 24*7 to help us with our luggage. I particularly liked their garden and spaces to relax.

I stayed in a room in which the window faced the street and the locals love to honk a lot. All the time. Until late hours. Good and clean beds. Limited size in bedrooms. AC can make a good difference in your comfort since rooms are on the smaller side.

- I4867DKsusana (10/5): Location, location, location and Great Hotel! - Imagine a monastery converted to a hotel, and the hotel delivers. Beautiful gardens, Spanish details of colonial architecture. Fantastic location next to the huge San Pedro Mercado for last minute tourist gifts, but one of the best features is everything is in walking distance. The hotel also offers an excellent restaurant, beautiful buffet breakfast, and a spa with message services you won't want to miss. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodated all our questions.

Right across the street from San Pedro market which is a pro and con. This is the only hotel we stayed at that didn't provide free water in the room. If you're staying here there's a grocery store across the street which has the best prices for water. We did utilize their laundry service, charged a few soles per individual piece you wanted laundered. The biggest negative was the shower. It had to run forever to get even luke warm, wouldn't stay here again as a result.

The front desk staff were friendly though and the breakfast was nice! A softer bed and a courtyard facing room would have me writing a 5 star review!
- annemJ9932WA (10/5): Great experience, great location - My friend and I stayed at this hotel for a few days at the end of our 3.5 week in Peru. It is a great place to stay. It was right next to San Pedro market and Peru Rail station, and within a few minutes walk of Plaza Des Armes The room was very clean and comfortable. The shower was the best one we experienced in Peru. I found it pretty quiet, as we were in the central courtyard. The restaurant was very good too. Breakfast was included in the price and it was an excellent buffet. We ate at the restaurant 2 nights and the food was very good. However, I did have better Pisco Sours elsewhere. Staff were great and very helpful. The standards were great. I would highly recommend this place to stay if you are not on a tight budget.

They were very accommodating in that we dropped our luggage off before taking the train to Machu Picchu and it was waiting for us upon our return and checkin. The close proximity to San Pedro train station so you can walk right to the hotel.
- lisagonzalves (8/5): Nice place to stay - My friends and I stayed here on a recent trip to Peru. The positive: The staff were extremely nice and accomodating. They have coca tea and oxygen on hand to help you adjust to the altitude, which turned out to be critical in my case! The stay includes breakfast (simple but lovely!) and the hotel is right in the heart of things - across the street from the mercado San Pedro, and just a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas. They have laundry service on site and the grounds are beautiful. The negative: the shower ceiling was full of mold, and while we were there it started raining...and unfortunately there was a leak in the roof so it started dripping on my bed in the middle of the night. I did inform reception in the morning and they were super apologetic.

The gardeners there are amazing and filled the property with beauty. Breakfast was wonderful and a breakfast box was made up without us asking one day. The cleaning staff did a very thorough job in our room. Front desk staff knew English. Good coordination between front desk and tour companies who came to pick us up. Laundry service was prompt. There is also someone who will come to offer massage services from what I saw. Best of all, the location could not be beat!! It was PERFECT!

- Alexander (10/5): - I stayed here with my significant other for one night before going to Machu Picchu the next morning. It was relatively close to the airport and although we didn’t do much in Cusco until after Machu Picchu, it is a 10-15 minute walk from Plaza de Armas and across the street from San Pedro Market. Room was very clean, shower was nice and hot, the staff was very kind and attentive and gave us coca tea first thing when we arrived. Property itself was also cool (located in an old monastery). Not sure how safe the area around the hotel is at night, but it didn’t seem to unsafe. All in all, it was a great and affordable place to stay for one night (or more if you need).

Unfortunately, some of the hotels are giving wrong info and pictures on the hotels.com pages. Actually, some of the hotels are cheating us. This hotel Superior Room information was as "overlooking garden and balcony"... And some pictures you love it... When we arrived at the hotel, we have seen that the room is at the base floor, no window overlooking the garden and no balcony at all... When I have complained about the room the reception clerk told me that "we have no room like that with balcony and overlooking to garden, hotels.com inserted wrong info, you must talk with hotels.com, not with us"... Finally, the room info was absolutely wrong... Actual room was just like a jail room. No windows to see outside. When you get in the room and closed the door than you feel like you are in a jail...Superior jail room... The room at the base floor and never see the sunlight It is so cold and no any kind of heating system... Freezing all night. Plus, very noisy during the night. Some people above your room walks forward/backward in the very early morning. No way to sleep. Just stay away you are looking a room a little bit large, you want to see something through a window and without noise during the night... Think twice...

The walls are a little thin (it is an old monastery) so take that into consideration when you are walking up and down the hallways. It was nice to stay in such a well-maintained place for such a great price, which traveling around Cusco. It was also nice that they stored our bags between our stays, while we were on our 4-day hike.

- CaSondra (10/5): Wished we had longer - Amazing service. We were leaving before breakfast, so the staff packed us a ham and cheese sandwich, apples, and field cookies. We stopped in for coffee, then got our breakfast to go. It was the most comfortable stay, and we really enjoyed the wool blankets left inside the wardrobe. Even with the Feast of St. Peter & Paul on the square, we could barely hear it outside.

It overlooked the playground of the attached orphanage, so it could be loud when the kids were playing. The free breakfast was delicious and had a good variety each day. The staff was very helpful. They were very kind and polite. They contacted a tour agency for us to confirm a hotel pick up, which was very helpful. The location was great— right across the street from the San Pedro Marley with lots of fresh fruits and other vendors. We loved our stay here!

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was fine except that we arrived about 2 hours early and waited in the lobby and we were not allowed to have breakfast! They said that because our checking time was 10:00 it was late to get the breakfast, and they did not offer even the option to pay for it while we wait for checking in! That we didn’t like at all !

- Brian (8/5): Unique monastery setting, but cold in winter - The hotel has a unique character, connected with the San Pedro Monastery. The design of the facility makes it interesting. The staff were helpful. The breakfast was good and varied a bit each day. The biggest drawback for us was the inability to control the room temperature during cold Cusco winter nights. As the buildings are old and not well insulated, some of the winter cold chills the inside of the room. The individual radiator heater didn't generate much warmth, so the room still felt cold for us.
- Stephen (10/5): Gem in Cuzco at a great price - It is a unique hotel setting, very quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast is included and met our needs. There is a hotel bar open in the evening which provided great service. Comfortable beds. Large market across street and a straight walk downhill to main square (plaza de armas).
- OZ (6/5): Choose another Hotel for Dinner - The first night i chose to have dinner here. I was the only person there. The waiter did not come over to my table to take my order, i had to go to him. I place my order with him. He kept leaving the area after making coffee's,( room order's). It took 25 minutes to receive my meal and it was Cold. Steak should not be cold, I heard the cooks Bell 5 minutes earlier while this bloke was away delivering coffee orders. Unable to tell this bloke the meal was cold in English. I left, the next morning I told the front desk staff about the meal, they just look at me, as to said what is your problem. The hotel staff, need to get better service and be able and willing to help.
- Lara (6/5): - The staff were not very friendly (other than one staff member) and my room was above the restaurant so I could hear that through the evening. The bar was also noisy and I had to request that they close their doors.
- Jey (10/5): Good location, accross the street from market - Hotel facilities and location were better than expected. The rooms are big and the hotel is within walking distance from a lot of restaurants and attractions. Taxis are always waiting outside, like anywhere in Peru, negotiate the taxi fare before getting in.

- Alex (10/5): Perfect location, wonderful staff and great price - I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff at Hotel Monasterio San Pedro. From the moment my group arrived, the staff were friendly, kind and accomodating. My group walked the Inca Trail during our time in Peru and the hotel allowed us to leave our belongings in their storage room until we returned. They were incredibly helpful in providing directions, reserving taxis and giving recommendations for activities. In addition, when my husband got very ill overnight and we had to cancel/reschedule activities one of the women at reception let me use her personal cell phone to call the travel company, after I was unable to reach them through my own international cell phone app. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Cusco at a reasonable price, be in a great area and have a wonderful staff to help you along the way!
- Erin (8/5): Convenient and clean hotel - Room was larger than expected and very nice. Restaurant was OK - great ceviche, but tough steak. Right across the street from San Pedro market.
- Patricio (8/5): Good and friendly service... - The hotel has great service and welcoming staff. The building is a little noisy, since you can hear people moving and walking in the aisles. The area is not the best if you want to walk to the center of town at night.
