Guest Reviews
- hokkispokkis (8/5): Goog Service - Great Service, clean rooms. Decent bed and nice dog walking around property 😀
Quiet rooms next to garden. For the other services you need to travel 5 kilometers to the next village but its worth of it. AIrconditioning worked fine. We can recommend this.
- nicofoto (10/5): Very nice small hotel - Great hotel to spent the night. Super friendly and helpful owner who has a lot of good tips. Delicious breakfast. Comfortable room with nice bed and everything was very clean. Excellent value for money.
- Zheky (10/5): Great! - Very nice property, excellent service. The area is nice for walk and run, number of good restaurants around. The channels and the water brings extra possibilities for people who are looking for different experience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Molto calda e accogliente.
- spirosp410 (8/5): La Rescossa - Very cosy and nice hotel, very quiet and nice rooms. Perfect garden with possibilities to sit outside and dine, the service was outstanding. Walking distance to restaurants nearby in the area with very good food.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My mom and I had a great stay here !! John Peter was very helpful and friendly. His breakfast was delicious and the outside patio was very much enjoyed !
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A really good base for getting in and out of Venice as the bus stop is just up the roads and tickets available at the hotel.
- Y.Kim (10/5): - Lovely property, very quiet and friendly staff. The breakfast is generous and the rooms are cozy.
- kseniadugan (8/5): Very cute place - The place is in good location. It is about 20 min drive from center of Venice. the villas is very cute, clean, and nicely decorated. The owner is sweet and helpful. There is an atmosphere of old big family house. The only thing is breakfast, it was so-so.
- 478natana (4/5): Not a good value for your money - We took this place because it was 50 Euros cheaper than to sleep inside Venice.
We arrived at noon and the check in was smooth and the woman was very nice.
The room is basic though nice and clean.
When we came back from Venice at midnight there was not enough hot water but for one short shower.
Also the sound isolation between the room is not good and you will know when your neighbor is taking a shower.
The breakfast is scanty - croissant with jam and little bit of yogurt and cereals.
Does not worth 100 euros.
- Iwona (10/5): nice hotel with nice staff - We stayed here with our daughter. The hotel is in a good location, not too far from Venice. The bed was the best we have ever slept in and only wish we could take it home.Every morning we had super breakfast, toasted pieces of bread, fresh, nice cakes and strong coffee -we loved that coffee, our daughter had orange juice.Always clean our room. For the money we spent on the hotel it was a great value and we would definitely recommend it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Alles gut, kommen gerne wieder.
Colazione abbondante e buonissima.
- andrewdover79 (10/5): Wonderful family-run hotel - Excellent service and beautiful location for this lovely family-run hotel! Conveniently located in the heart of the Brenta Riviera, it's 2 minutes walk from the bus stop to go to Venice. We went on a cruise on the "Burchiello" boat that departs from Venice and follows the river to the city of Padua, a perfect way to discover the stunning Villas and landscapes of this area. Worth a stay!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant, Clean, Friendly and Comfortable - The room is a reasonable size, very clean, with a spacious bathroom. Hot water at all times and both heating and air conditioning. The only slight issue, was the bed was a small double (or big single).
Free wifi throughout the hotel (albeit a trifle slow).
Breakfast was pastries, coffee and juice, very filling. Bu tickets can be bought from the hotel to get into Venice. Its a 25-45 minute journey.
A pleasant, well appointed family run hotel, relaxed, away from the crowd of the city, noisy coach parties and the like. Would highly recommend.
The only downsize was that an impromptu request for a midnight snack of a few cakes from the proprietors really lovely mother resulted in an 18Euro charge added on our bill which seemed excessive and put a dampener on a really nice stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful setting a short bus ride to Venice - Hotel Rescossa is an elegant little, newly renovated hotel on the outskirts of Mira. Its villa-like setting is peaceful with an inviting set of patios where guests are free to picnic, drink their wine and enjoy the evening sky; this is big sky country. On our second evening, just before sunset, we watched a double rainbow slowly fade. The hotel breakfast room has five tables with white tablecloths, china settings, bread, butter, marmalade. The buffet had delicious pastries, croissants, fresh fruit, cheese, salami, yogurt, cold cereals, while the concierge brought pitchers of coffee, warm milk and juice to the table. The hotel is just opposite the bus stop where you board a bus that goes directly to old Venice where you can get on a vaporetto or just begin your walking tour. Very convenient.
A great value, I recommend it highly.
- Linda (10/5): Cozy Inn. - La Rescossa is a 30 minute bus ride away from Venice (1 bus). A quiet inn with very nice and helpful hosts, Jean-Pierre and his l Mom. No AC but windows to open. A great steak restaurant a block away. Wonderful stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Convenient place to stay near Venice. - We thought it was a very nice place and convenient for taking the bus into Venice. We were able to walk about one-half mile to a very nice neighborhood restaurant. The only complaint was the coffee was weak at breakfast.
Blisko do centrum!
- Patrick (10/5): Very comfortable, with great hosts! - The hosts took the time to look after us, the bus stop is right outside and the breakfast was simple, yet enjoyable!
- Lydia (10/5): One night stay - It was very nice. Room was small but very nice. Bus was easy to catch to Venice. Garden was beautiful and had lots of flowers. Wish there had been more in the area to see. Breakfast was amazing!
- Vanessacalling (8/5): Venetian Country Charm - What a wonderful stay in such a lovely place - wish we could have stayed longer...
It's was great to find such a charming place with easy access to central Venice, but without the inflated prices. I can't take all the credit - my partner found this spot, but I was straight on board from looking at pictures and reviews, and they didn't disappoint.
The villa has been set up with classic charm as this period B & B. The room we were upgraded to (upstairs) was a double en suite room at the front of the house with crisp white linen, quaint window shutters and exposed beams. The bathroom while compact was clean and accommodating. Peppered with local treasures like Murano glass light shades and chandeliers, it was a lovely place to stay. We didn't spend enough time there to explore the pretty gardens too.
Breakfast was served each day by Mama Bruna and Jean Pietro (excuse the spelling). While it was simply a spread of breads and pastries, it was accompanied by great fresh coffee, a wide selection of teas, juice plus home made jams.
The local bus was about 25 mins direct into Venice and ran until midnight. You can get a 1,2,3 or 7 day pass that means you can travel back and forth at leisure.
The weather was bright and warm and our first exploration of this ancient city was delightful.
While it might seem pricey for some the Gondola ride really is a must, but find a cheery host for your trip - ours even managed a few bars of song.
- Elvvv (10/5): Beautiful, with a family-run atmosphere - Beautiful, extremely clean.
Formally farm house with beams holding the shingle roof up.
Beautiful hotel grounds, with small tables under trees, and nice gravel paths. Parking is free, and secure as it is located behind a locked gate.
It looks like a family run business, and the staff is very skillful and pleasant. There was a very nice, very Italian guy there that reminded me of a young Gérard Depardieu - he has provided an exquisite service during our checking in/out and also at breakfast.
Breakfast was good with nice options including home made jams and good eggs cooked to order
Note for summer: There's a fan in the room, and no AC.
- Rachie50 (8/5): Budget hotel - This hotel is situated outside of Venice but is on the main bus route and dead easy to get into Venice. The hotel is family run and the owner was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and tidy and equipped with everything you need. Breakfast is included albeit it is very limited with only breads and pastries on offer. Could do with maybe eggs, yogurt and fruit also to add variety. However, would definitely recommend this hotel.
- Mark (8/5): Wonderful stay in Mira - Delightful little hotel, the owner was wonderful and speaks English. He was extremely helpful and attentive. The rooms were small but very reasonable. There was no A/C, but the weather was not a factor when we stayed. The breakfasts were excellent and filling. This is an excellent place to stay and take the bus into Venice. It is very close to the bus stop and convenient. There was an excellent restaurant down the road about 500 meters that provided one of the best meals we had in Italy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Joli jardin, chambre tres propre et lit confortable.petit dej copieux et délicieux.
- Paul (10/5): Excellent service in a nice location - Great 3 day stay in this lovely Venetian villa. Breakfast each day was freshly made (e.g. omelette with tomato and mushroom) or similar and fresh juices and a selection of bread(you could smell it baking from the room) with coffee of your choice - yum.
Room not huge but lovely beamed ceilings and comfortable.
Plenty of parking and easy to get the bus to Venice from more or less outside the hotel.
- Francisco (10/5): 100% recomendado!!!
Philippe
- odiono2015 (6/5): GOOD PLACE OUTSIDE VENICE - Me and my partner had a good time staying in this hotel, but i was a little bit disappointed about the shower box which gave us a tough time throughout our stay. The drainage was totally blocked and taking our bath became a nightmare, we informed the manager about the problem and he said nothing could be done about it due to the fact that the bathroom is been recently reconstructed.
Apart from this uncomfortable experience, every other thing went well!
My greetings to Gianpietro!
- Melanie (10/5): Outstanding - Friendly helpful easy access to Venice via frequent buses
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful and small family run hotel just 15km outside Venice.
- Eric (10/5): - Hôtel de charme.
Accueil délicieux. A recommander
- Zubeir (8/5): Gem of a hotel! - This is a really nice bed and breakfast type hotel in a rural setting. The hotel is a 35 minute bus ride from Venice and on a major road/bus route. The room was cozy and nicely appointed, even had a bidet in the bathroom. Wi-fi access was provided and accessible from most areas of the hotel and property. The continental breakfast is nice and served outside in the garden in a relaxed atmosphere. The garden was nice to just sit and relax in. The staff/owners go out of their way to take care of every need and request you may have. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet place to to stay outside of Venice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - He was great! Helped a lot with our luggage as Swiss airport lost one of them. Guided us to Venice city via bus which is like 30 minutes or less to the city. He was great
- JayandEmma2013 (10/5): Weekend Break - This was one of the most memorable and relaxing weekend breaks I have ever taken. The hotel and surrounding area in Mira is lovely, very rural and quiet. A half hour taxi ride from Traviso airport and 20 minute bus ride from Venice.
My fiancé and I stayed in May. When we arrived the hotel owner could not have been more helpful and welcoming. He took in our luggage and provided us with a printout of useful information for first time visitors. (A map and all of the relevant bus timetable information including which stops to use on the outgoing and return journey) You can purchase bus tickets from the hotel and the bus stops just up the road which was very convenient.
The room was lovely and comfortable with shutters on the windows to allow a great night sleep even with the fantastic weather. In the morning the smell of freshly baked breads and pastries wafted in at the window. We were not disappointed when we went downstairs for breakfast as we were brought a delicious selection to share with butter, jam, marmalade, fresh orange juice, coffee etc. Ideal to set you up for a day of exploring beautiful Venice.
- chuch26 (10/5): Great hotel in mira - Great hotel only 30min away from venice by bus, the bus stop is just a 2min walk down the road.
Great value for money, the breakfast is great and even better when you eat outside in the garden.
The owner and staff are great and help you with anything you need, i highly recommend this place to anyone and would like to thank everyone working there for their help helping me with my lost baggage by the airport.
- Donald (10/5): Excellent hotel with wonderful service - Excellent gem of a hotel right on bus route to central Venice. Wonderful attention to detail. Very helpful staff/owners. Excellent air conditioining and Internet. Wonderful silver and linen service at breakfast. Elegance and superb service in a quiet country setting are the key descriptors for this hotel. Only issue: must be conscious of the bugs like Mosquitos that can be present in this rural setting. (But we also had them in central Venice).
- MonikaSun (10/5): Great value for the price - You can't beat the room rates. Nicely equipped rooms. Simple breakfast of backed goods with marmalade and coffee beautifully served. Great place if you are looking for spending mostly the nights. We walked around the town and passed some other hotels and next time we would try Villa Franceschi. It has A/C in the entire building with beautiful rooms and gardens. But again if you are watching your budget this is a great stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent! Quick bus rude to Venice and a great breakfast!
- Bexenstar (8/5): Nice little hotel. - The hotel is a 30 minute bus drive from Venice bus station (It's worth while buying a pass that allows you on the bus & water bus)
Check in was easy, even though the lady didn't speak English we got all the information we needed. Breakfast outside from 8-10am in the garden is lovely and a nice way to start the day. The hotel itself is quaint and picturesque and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Down the road is a pizza place and another hotel restaurant, also around the corner is a small supermarket. For the price this hotel really is worth it.
Some things to note;
No hair dryer in room (if this matters to you bring one)
No pathway to bus stop, have to walk along side of road (5 minutes)
No fridge in the room
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointment - I stayed two nights in this hotel it was clean and quiet however the location was extremely far and the bus came every 45 minutes and the breakfast was so poor also the night staff couldn't speak English while the bathroom was economy there is no hair dryer no shampoo no towel for couple just for one person and the price is not worth it
- Jim (8/5): Great hotel! - The hotel itself is great , nice small rooms and a nice garden. The wifi did not work the first day but the manager insisted that there were nothing wrong with it. The next day i asked him to restart the Accesspoint an the wifi started working. The breakfast was okej nothing special just bread sometimes youghurt, fresh cheese and also coffee. No eggs or no fruits. The town itself Mira is quite boring, there were a couple of resturants to choose from. When we were there most of them were closed of full. There is an supermarket not too long from the hotel witch is nice. We also used the free parking.
- Maria (8/5): Nice hotel a little too far from Venice - We stayed here for one night. Our room was clean and well maintained. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was tasty -- fruit juice, coffee, and a selection of fresh breads and baked goods. The hotel is located very close to a bus stop that takes you into Venice. However, we found the buses to be old, cramped and late, so we would have preferred to stay closer to the city.
- excited travell (8/5): nice hotel in a quiet location - Hotel was alright. but it depends on how much you want to pay. room was too small, but if you look at the place only for sleeping, it was good. bathroom was very small, specially shower cubical. a five minute shower ended at least 20 minute, because there was no where to put your shampoo or things you need to have in there. your hands all the time banging to the wall or tap. in the bath room there wasn't a hook to leave your towel to dry, so we ended by hanging it on the corner of shower cubical. hotel was far from Venice, and bus ticket wasn't available in hotel. over all I think if you have only 2 or 3 days, it is better stay in a hotel in the city not far, because we ended to spend every day 9 euro for the bus ticket and on top of it long journey on the busy and crowded buses.
- Armando (10/5): Excellent choice. - Great bed and breakfast style hotel. Courteous staff and good continental breakfast. They go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need.
- Armando (10/5): Recommend 300% - Charming Bed and Breakfast style hotel. Beautiful building excellent service and courtesy from owners. Can't wait to go back!
- ramon (6/5): comftarble location for visiting Venice (by bus) - nice location, close to venice (25 min. bus ride).
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very nice - Nice hotel, exelent value for money paid for a short stay (not more than few days). Room was very small, wifi poor, and breakfast the same every day (sweet pasteries), but very clean, friendly stuff and adorable garden and small room.
- Michael (10/5): great bed and breakfast hotel - This was a great hotel, a little way from Venice but about 30 mins on local bus. The hotel was brilliant although the elderly lady receptionist did not speak English but we got by. The breakfast setting outside was brilliant in the sunshine. Would definetly recommend this again. and hope to stay again.
- KP (10/5): One week in Venice - This hotel is a beautifully run hotel. Rooms are excellent, breakfast is just what you need and the surrounding gardens are lovely. Be prepared for the fifty minute journey into Venice though.
- Verified traveler (6/5): family hotel nearby Venice - It is a family hotel nearby Venice. The hotel was nice. But the problem is without English service. The breakfast is too simple.
- storm76 (10/5): Great hotel - My daughter and I stayed here whilst visiting Venice recently. About 30 minutes bus ride out of Venice. Regular buses running very early till midnight. Close to bus stops. Bus tickets also sold at the hotel. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Plenty for breakfast. Owner extremely helpful and informative. Nothing was too much trouble. There are restaurants locally but they dont open until about 7.30 to 8pm. The local pizza takeaway is good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel La Recossa - Stayed in this hotel for a short break recently. We would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Venice. Hotel manager was always friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and breakfast was fresh and delicious. Getting into Venice itself was straightforward with bus stop only a 5 minute walk away. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we would stay here again on our next visit.
- angie (8/5): Good hotel close to Venice - The hotel Rescossa is about 30 minutes from Venice by bus. A regular service runs till midnight from early morning. Tickets can be bought from the hotel. Bus stop close by. Hotel owner very friendly and informative. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast good and plentiful. Room very clean and comfortable. Would stay again and recommend the hotel. There are restaurants in local area but they dont open till about 8pm. The local pizza take away is very good however.
- Janne (10/5): Delightful Hotel and Staff - Hea Pietro was very welcoming and helpful. Rooms were clean, and breakfast was very nice
- Ambuj (10/5): A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location - LOCATION: Have to walk approximately 500-600 m from Mestre station and then catch a bus (15 mins).... the location is extremely beautiful with greenery all around the hotel and a river flowing on the other side of the road... its an extremely good option if you have a car but we managed well with public transport too
STAFF: it was mainly a couple managing the hotel and they were pretty nice
FOOD: Excellent breakfast
ROOM: Cozy and well decorated room.... a little on the smaller side but comfortable enough... we had room 108 and our devices did not catch wifi in that room but i guess it would not be a problem in rooms closer to the main building...
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel within easy reach of Venice - My only criticism of this hotel is the shower - a little on the small side (and I am not big)!!
Within easy reach of Venice via a 40 min bus ride.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cosy and Convenient - Very convenient and simple to get to Venice island, with the bus stop just about a 5-minute walk away from the hotel. Bus tickets are also available at the hotel. Can't get much more convenient than that.
Room was also very cosy, and the entire hotel landscape very picturesque. We had a lovely stay. Wish it were longer.
- Sandra (10/5): Most Romantic Villa to Stay at - Speechless, my husband and I were having honeymoon and since the moment We have arrived literally we were in love with this place with its convenient location, peaceful and lovely environment the owner (which is the manager) makes you feel like you are home.. Highly recommended
- Shanabunny (10/5): Amazing!!! - My husband and I were having honeymoom trip to Italy we booked this wonderful place and we have no words to express all good things about it...
Highly recommended very convenient location peaceful and lovely environment you will feel like home...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We've had an amazing experience at Hotel La Rescossa. The service was fantastic, the owners were super helpful and pleasant, the room was very clean and the breakfast was fresh and lovely. The hotel is located 40 minutes away (by bus) from Venice with the bus stop just a minute away. The neighbourhood is lovely and there's a very nice restaurant just minutes away that serves delicious meat and fish dishes (if you get bored of pizza and pasta!). If we ever go back to Venice - Hotel la Rescossa will be the place to stay at!
- Lorilee (8/5): Incredibly friendly, helpful staff...but... - The hotel is lovely, parking is free and plentiful, breakfast was great (eggs, meats, tons of different breads, made-to-order drink service) and the staff was beyond helpful in all ways to ensure we had a great stay. You can buy bus tickets right at the hotel with a detailed schedule and directions to get to Venice in 20ish minutes. The only thing that would prevent me from coming back here are the bugs. The mosquitos are plentiful and we happened to come at a time when green, stink beetles that feed on the soy crops were EVERYWHERE. We couldn't open the windows for fresh air without being consumed. Hubby and I can't sleep without fresh circulating air so it really compromised our comfort and sleep making for an exhausting tourist stay while exploring nearby Venice. If opening the windows isn't important to you...I highly recommend. Everything else was great for the rate and star-rating of this hotel.
- Dr. Rozena Maart (10/5): Excellent service - We had a wonderful stay at Hotel La Rescossa. A friendly and welcoming host who went out of his way for his guests and assisted with directions and transport when necessary. We could not have asked for a better holiday. Breakfast was fresh and wonderful. You'll get excellent service at La Rescossa -- away from the madding crowd of Venice, it is a scenic, relaxing and comforting hotel you easily call home!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good base for visits to the area - A small hotel, but our room was comfortable and clean, with enough space for a 4 night stay. The hotel is run by a mother/son team and appears to be well kept. Both are very friendly and helpful. The son, in particular, gladly helped us plan some of our daily trips. Although in a very convenient location for daily excursions to Venice (bus stop is nearby), we used it as a base for our visits to the Ville Venete (on the Naviglio Brenta), to Chioggia and other charming places, such as Cittadella and Asolo.
- Travel'nAsia (8/5): Cute hotel just far enough from Venice - After a day with the horrible crowds in Venice it was great to escape back to the beautiful gardens of this country hotel. The owner tries very hard to make your stay enjoyable. Room was small but comfortable.
- Franci (10/5): Absolutely lovely! - We can't say enough good things about this hotel and the little community of Mira. We arrived far earlier than our anticipated time and they went out of their way to get our room ready ahead of schedule. Mira is close enough to Venice that you can easily get there by bus (that stops almost right outside the hotel), but far enough out of the city that you get away from the hustle and bustle (and high prices)! The room was charming and clean, and the staff was very friendly. The baked goods for breakfast were outstanding! We will be back for sure.
- C (10/5): Lovely hotel villa, close to mainland supermarkets - The Hotel La Rescossa was beautiful, and although located on the mainland had great transport to the city. As it isn't a Venice code there was no tax to pay- which is always a plus. Finding the Hotel with a taxi driver was a bit of a problem but once there the staff provided us with maps and times to both the city and the airport. Would definitely stay again as the area was lovely, although mind the roads as there are no pavements!
- Aussie mum & daughter (10/5): Charming private hotel - My daughter and I were only there two nights while we visited Venice but the proprietor was friendly, and helpful. He organised transport tickets for us and advised us on the local area and Venice. Breakfast was great. There was a heat wave while we were there and there is no air con which was a little tough as we needed the window open and the hotel is on quite a busy road, the quality of the beds was great though. Lovely decorated smaller hotel.
