Christophe (10/5): Expérience inoubliable ! - J’avais réservé cet hôtel pour ma famille et moi, afin de faire plaisir à mes enfants qui voulaient dormir sur un bateau. Nous ne fûmes pas déçus, car au-delà du bateau, c’est sur un superbe voilier en bois sur lequel nous avons dormi, avec tout le confort nécessaire et très agréablement agencé. Petit déjeuner plus que correct, même s’il est un peu plus restreint que dans un hôtel normal. Seul bémol, le personnel est peu causant. À faire, en couple ou en famille.

Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful and unusual stay in Stockholm. Friendly and helpful staff, arranged for us to leave luggage on early arrival. Freshly prepared and delicious breakfast. It is about 20 minute walk into central Stockholm, but the Metro stop is nearby and the walk is along the river so pleasant if the weather is good.

Henrik (8/5): Trevligt - Bra vistelse, nära tunnelbana, god frukost dock inte samma utbud som större hotell, lätt och hitta parkering, saknades skydd på våningssängar övre så barnen fick sova nere, trevlig personal, mycket varmt när vi var där, barnen tyckte det var kul med båt, mysigt sitta på däck.

Verified traveler (10/5): A special occasion to sleep on a boat - We had a pleasant stay at the MS Monika. After a deep sleep in the cozy chamber, the hosts welcomed us with a fancy breakfast. The ship lies quite central in a quiet neighborhood.

The boat did not move and you never would have know your were sleeping on the river. Breakfast was made to order and he even made us sandwiches for our next trip. 5 star service...

Marie (6/5): Annorlunda upplevelse i centralt läge - Lite annorlunda upplevelse att bo på en båt som barnen tyckte var spännande. Rummet var rent och fräscht men väldigt litet. Det blev trångt med alla resväskor och saker. Det var dessutom 30 grader varmt när vi var där vilket ledde till att det var olidligt varmt i hytten. Brant, trång trappa till hytten vilket gör att det inte är lämpligt för personer som är osmidiga och har svårt att gå. Båten är obemannad förrutom några timmar på morgonen vilket kändes lite otryggt. Frukosten var liten och begränsad. Lite bake off frallor och färdigrostade brödskivor. Ca 1 dl youghurt per person i löjligt liten burk. Kuddarna i sängen var gamla syntetkuddar som gjort sitt. Vi hade en bra vistelse med sköna kvällar på däck men tycker nog inte att hotellet är prisvärt med tanke på rummens standard och frukosten.

Skibets charme er absolut det største aktiv, og vi havde tre fine solskinsdage, hvor der var tid og plads til at nyde solen på dækket, når vi ikke var ude i byen. Beliggenheden er fin og tæt ved T-banen, som har forbindelser til hele centrum. Venlig service og god info forud for ankomst. Morgenmaden kunne godt tåle en opgradering, men det fungerede ok.

Olga (10/5): Enjoyable stay in Stockholm - Together with my husband we spent a fantastic weekend in botel Monika. (We expected to meet Bill Clinton but Monika Levinsky left the yacht before we arrived so he wasn't there(().After booking we got via email the instructions and information about staying in the hotel which was very helpful. The yacht has only several rooms which creates a cozy atmosphere. The room was clean and a small sweet surprise was waiting inside. In the morning we were served fabulous romantic breakfast in the deckhouse just for two of us! The breakfast was delicious and nourishing, we enjoyed it a lot! And so taste strawberry jam I didn't eat for ages! We would like to thank Dawid for his hospitality, quick check in and all his help during our stay. We would definitely come again.

Greg (8/5): A touch of adventure - Quite an enjoyable experience, our children loved it and it was an adventure for all of us, not every day you get to sleep on a boat, would recommend to others. Breakfast was good and served at a time you choose, within serving hours. Arriving later in the day, the directions given to access the boat and room are easy to follow, but if you prefer to be greeted by staff, suggest arrive at normal check in time. Only negative, in the 4 bunk room, the upper bunks do not have a safety rail, so not so good for small children.
max (10/5): Hur mysigt som helst - Hur mysigt som helst. Vänlig personal, mycket trevligt rum med ostörd och fri känsla. Trevligt litet badrum. Hade levt lycklig med "Dubbel Deluxe" aka "Room no 4" som heltidsbostad.
Ulf (8/5): Udda hotellboende på fartyg - Ett ovanligt hotell, minst sagt. Egentligen rätt trevligt, men med några udda inslag. Nyckelhanteringen är en sak med kod och nyckelbox med hänglås. Man måste också hålla reda på sin mailade kod för att överhuvudtaget ta sig in. "Nedstigningen" till rummet var också udda där jag med viss möda kunde baxa ned mina två väskor - iförd min bylsiga vinterjacka - nedför lejdaren (man kliver alltså ned med hjälp av en lejdare). Väl nere på plats är det trivsamt i kajutan. Lite gillestuga över det hela. Mitt rum var kallt - fastän värmeelementet var hett. En ventilationsfläkt surrade ljudligt och pumpade in mera kalluft. "Stäng inte av fläkten" stod det på ett anslag. Men det gjorde jag ändå. Det var ju vinter ute och redan rätt (för) kallt i rummet. När jag väl hade fått stopp på fläkten blev det bättre (=varmare och tystare). Wifi hade någon annan kommenterat. Det gick oftast jättebra, men slocknade några gånger och kom inte tillbaks förrän efter en stund. Ok hastighet alltså, men inte tillräckligt stabilt, är mitt omdöme. Frukosten var ok. Då menar jag att man inte kan förvänta sig äggröra och croissanter på ett så litet ställe. Men det fanns en tydlig omsorg och (om)tanke kring sättet på vilket den serverades. Man hade tänkte till och gjort den personlig. Bra! Sammantaget - trivsamt men lite ovanligt. Skön fartygskänsla men med några mindre anmärkningar (se ovan).
Verified traveler (6/5): - After we booked the hotel, we came to know that it was a boat and it was cool :) It was not too difficult to find the location as you can see in my picture, it stand-out-from-the-crowd. It felt nice living there and we had a good night sleep. Pros: 1)Room was good. 2)The breakfast provided was good. 3)You get a boat to live into. Cons 1)We had got a room for 3 person, but that was small for 3 person(Adults) . 2)Price was on the higher side. 3) No wifi in our room. 3) For wifi/breakfast and coffee, there was separate area, and had to climb up the deck and go down to other cabin.

Håkan (8/5): Annorlunda vattennära hotellupplevelse - Behövde ett hotellrum för en natt, jobbrelaterat. Flertalet hotell i Stockholm var fullbokade så jag "chansade" på M/S Monika och blev inte besviken. "Hotellet" är litet (4 rum), personligt och intimt. Fick ett mycket bra bemötande och allt fungerade till full belåtenhet. Har redan tipsat flera av mina kollegor om detta "lågprisalternativ" till de mer traditionella hotellkedjorna.

Ulrika (10/5): Super charmigt litet hotell med marin karaktär❣️ - Härligt litet (endast 4 rum) hotell med en fantastisk marin prägel. Föll pladask när jag blev erbjuden den fina förhytten, bra pris och vi alla 3 njöt (jag, make o 8-årig son). Fräscht, bra utrymme, centralt mitt i Stockholm, nära till allt. Ej handikapp vänligt och en fläkt eller liknande som brummade igång när alla började duscha, men absolut det ända som kan sägas till nackdel för M/S Monica, annars ALLT super bra❣️
Maria (10/5): Mysigt, familjevänligt. Trevligt bemötande! - Övernattade en natt på höstlovet med barnen (13 och 17 år). Mysigt och ganska rymligt rum med ett takfönster! Ej helt optimalt för funktionshindrade eller äldre personer. Inte heller lämpligt för småbarn men för alla andra är detta absolut ett mycket bra alternativ för dem som önskar något annat än ett förutsägbart Statshotell. Rekommenderar detta starkt! Vägbeskrivningen med bussen från Centralstationen var ej helt uppdaterad på hemsidan. Bussen som rekommenderades där (linje 56) gick numera en annan sträcka. Vi fick i stället åka buss 1 eller 53 från Kungsgatan och gå av vid S:t Eriksgatan (promenadväg 290 meter). Detta var dock inga problem utan löste sig utan med lite support från SL-upplysningen.

Matthew (10/5): Great location and unique boat living - An absolutely unique experience. There. Are only four rooms on the M/S Monika, with a real experience of living on a boat. Our daughters loved it (and so did we)! The boat is located in a very central area, making it easy to walk to the city centre and surrounding areas.

K Dub (10/5): Great experience ! - Having stayed for 1 night with my 2 kids (10 and 14) this was a fantastic experience. located near St Eriksplan metro stop - a 10 minute walk and down many steps to the water's edge. only small bags should be taken here as little space for storage. You must take the combination lock number with you to access the gate to the boat and collect the room key from a key box - again a combination needed. Very clean and comfortable - we all slept so well and had a lovely breakfast served at the time ordered. not for the elderly , very small children or those inable to climb steep ladders to get to your room ! we loved it and will return again as the most reasonable room we could get for our budget.

Verified traveler (8/5): Stockholm Marathon - Hotellet blev bestilt i god tid, da jeg skulle løbe Stockholm Marathon. Kontakten med hotellet var rigtig god, og da vi ville forlænge med en dag, gik det glat igennem - kunne ikke forlænge på Hotels.com. Værelset var med passende plads til to voksne og to børn. Der var gode liggestole til brug på dækket, og det var muligt at tage ophold i alrummet, hvis børnene skulle tidligere i seng. Alt i alt en rigtig god oplevelse, også fordi det var godt vejr med mulighed for at sidde på dækket.

Veera (10/5): Ihana hotelli kävelyetäisyyellä keskustasta! - Hotelli ylitti kaikki odotuksemme. Huone ja kylpyhuone olivat siistejä, samoin yhteinen oleskelualue. Kävelymatka keskustasta taittui mukavasti joen varrella kulkevaa kävelytietä pitkin. Aamiainen oli ihana ja palvelu loistavaa! Hotelli ei ehkä kuitenkaan sovi henkilölle, jolla on vaikeuksia liikkumisen kanssa, sillä portaat kannelta sisätiloihin olivat todella jyrkät (ennemminkin tikkaat).

Marcelo (10/5): Great hotel - Great stay, a different experience staying in a boat. We really enjoyed and although the wifi wasn't working at its best we basically used the hotel just for sleeping. Great atmosphere and it was great interacting with other guests during breakfast, which was a plus to this hotel. We'll define tk come back when in Stockholm again.
Verified traveler (8/5): Mysigt, prisvärt boende i centrala Stockholm - Mysigt, prisvärt boende i centrala Stockholm. Personalen var trevlig och rummen rena och det var gott om toalettsaker på rummet. Vi var fyra personer som bodde på rummet och för det var väl rummen i minsta laget. Det fanns bara en toalett att tillgå, hade det funnits en extra i uppehållsrummet hade det varit bra. Vi sov där bara en natt men för längre vistelse hade detta underlättat. Enkel men mycket god frukost som dukades upp för oss vid den tid vi önskade.

Tanken är att du ska få en känsla av att vistas på ett litet fartyg och den införlivades mycket positivt. Dvs, räkna med att det är lite trångt och att du ska kunna ta dig ner för en lejdare. Så inget för den med fysiska hinder! Miljön ombord är ombonad med en marin och modern känsla! Sängarna är sköna och det är tyst och lugnt ombord. Frukosten var välsmakande men tyvärr alldeles för liten om du är en fullvuxen man. Servicen var bra. Den sker på engelska för övrigt.

Jenny (10/5): Sehr speziell und aussergwöhnlich. - Wir haben etwas besonderes gesucht und in der MS Monika gefunden. Das Schiff ist sehr modern und bietet genügend Platz. Bis zum Zentrum läuft man ca. 20 Minuten. Wir können das Hotel definitiv weiterempfehlen.
Tomas (6/5): Båthotell - Rätt OK vistelse. Rent och fräscht i rummet och en trevlig god frukost. Det som drar ner intrycket är att sängarna och täckena var korta samt kallt på golvet (durken). Kallt i rummet på kvällen och inget att reglera värmen med.

(Une chauffeuse était était disposition pour notre grande et nous avons même pu caser notre lit parapluie pour le petitou) . L accueil était impeccable comme les lieux et le petit déjeuner aussi. Super expérience.

Christine (8/5): Schiff ahoi! - Die Schiffskabine war sauber und gemütlich. In Ergänzung zum Duvet war auch eine kuschelige Fleece-Decke vorhanden. Im Gemeinschaftsraum standen DVD's zur Ausleihe sowie einem Nespresso-Maschine. Das Frühstück wurde liebevoll zubereitet, z.B. gab es Joghurt, serviert in kleinen Einmachgläsern. Wir würden wieder hingehen.

Monica (8/5): An unusual experience - We had a lovely week on the boat in Room 1. The room was comfortable for sleeping, as long as you don't mind bunkbeds, but there was only one chair to sit on. On the other hand, the common room was quite comfortable. WiFi access was decent in our room. The bathroom was tiny (I kept hitting the shower wall when sitting on the toilet), but water pressure was excellent and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast was wonderful! Everything we could want and plenty of it! The young man who works on the boat was friendly and helpful. The location was good: there's a Tunnelbana stop a short walk away and plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. As others have said, this is not a place for people with mobility issues as you must go up and down a fairly steep ladder to get on and off the boat. And it's not a place for people who travel with half their closet. There are no closets, just a short hanging rack, and no bathroom storage at all. I'm really glad we stayed at the M/S Monika, but I don't know that I would do it again.

Verified traveler (6/5): Un modo diverso di soggiornare - L'hotel in realtà è una nave ormeggiata. La stanza annoi assegnata era piccola ma sufficientemente confortevole. Bagno piccolo ma funzionale. Il personale di servizio è gentile e disponibile, purtroppo non è presente tutto il giorno ma solo in determinate fasce orarie. Ottima la colazione servita nella sala comune. Abbiamo apprezzato l'esclusività della location anche se non ho gradito il fatto che la camera non sia stata rifatta dopo il primo giorno di permanenza. Non so se sia l'usanza o se si sia trattato di un disguido. Comunque si è trattato di un'esperienza positiva, al di fuori della norma. Credo ci tornerei anche se il prezzo non è proprio economico in relazione ai servizi complessivamente offerti.
Brian (8/5): Different sort of place to stay. - The boat was comfortable enough to stay in for our family of three and the location was good. However, gone are "Our lovely crew: Sussi, Linnea & Maja" talked about on their website (http://www.msmonika.se/en/about-the-ship). They have been replaced by a Polish fellow who's pleasant enough, but knows little about Swedish life and doesn't understand the language should you, the foreign traveller, need anything explained or translated. For example: I ignorantly attracted a parking violation and the fellow was unable to tell me why or what the notice actually said I had done wrong. (I found out later: If you park on the street just outside of the boat, you must move your car on Friday morning from midnight to 6:00 or you'll get a big fine.)
Maiju (10/5): Purjelaivahotelli - Yli 100 vuotta vanha purjelaiva oli hienosti muutettu hotelliksi. Huoneet olivat yllättävän tilavia, todella siistejä ja laivan henkilökunta todella mukava ja palvelualtis. Viehättävä vaihtoehto jos perus hotellit kyllästyttävät. Hyvät kulkuyhteydet ja edullinen hinta. Suosittelen todella lämpimästi.
Verified traveler (10/5): Kids loved sleeping on a real sailing boat - The kids had a wonderful time staying on a real sailing boat. Naturally as it's a small boat the room are compact and you can hear your neighbour through the wall. Overall a really fun experience for a night or two in Stockholm.
Verified traveler (6/5): Für Individualisten - Sehr kleines Hotelschiff, liebevoll hergerichtet, nur etwas für gelenkige Leute, da naturgemäß kleine Kajüten, Stockbetten und steile Abgänge in den Passagierraum hinunter. Personal ist nicht immer da, erfüllt aber alle Wünsche prompt.
Fernando (8/5): Fantastic experience for the kids! - This sailing boat/hotel is a very special place to stay if you intend to experience something different and unique. The boat has 4 rooms, fully rebuilt and very nicely decorated with all amenities and comfort needed. We stayed 2 adults and 2 kids, each one in own individual bed and shower/ rest room inside the room. The breakfast and service were fantastic. Just keep in mind that it is quite difficult to find parking space near.
Andrew (8/5): Fun in Boat! - This was planned as a fun over night stay for our kids whilst we were in stockholm. And it was! This is highly recommended if you fancy staying somewhere other than a traditional hotel. Perfect location and a carefully restored vessel made for a great stay. Although we have rated the room comfomfort as only 3/5 this is because it is a boat. We did not expect comfort as we went for something unusual. Despite the fact you are on a boat the hotel is still reasonably comforatble and the bathroom is spacious. Whilst we were not directly met by anybody upon our arrival, we were given very clear and simple instructions for self check in and key collection. We also had help from staff on the morning of our departure with looking after suitaceses etc. The breakfast was excellent. Overall, we can highly recommend this hotel for a fun and unusual place to stay in Stockholm.
Windyjonas (8/5): Great breakfast - Let's get the bad stuff out the way, the wifi sucked and the bunk bed didn't do wonders for my back! Ok, now the good stuff, It's a boat! The location is great, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was one of the best I've had in Stockholm.
Verified traveler (10/5): Charmingly unique - Staying on a houseboat/hotel was a unique experience. It was a small space, but not so small that it felt cramped. The breakfast was excellent and on par with the restaurants we paid good money to eat at. Sussi was a gracious host and made sure we had everything we needed. She even helped track down some luggage that had been displaced by the airline. Note that the boat is not always staffed, and expect a self-serve check-in if you arrive in the evening. The location is decent. While the boat is at water level, the actual city is several stories above. So there are several flights of stairs you need to climb if you want to go anywhere, but from there it is a short walk to either of two train stations, or any number of shops and restaurants.

Julia (10/5): Cozy, Quiet, Close to City Center - Wonderful stay in Stockholm! The boat is easy to get to from the airport (quick taxi, or alternatively both Flygbussarna and the trains stop nearby, about a 5 minute walk), and also easy to get to the city center, Gamla Stan, by walking or train. A bit longer of a walk to get to Djugarden or Sodermalm, but pleasant in good weather. Our host Susie was very friendly and helpful, and prepares a really sweet breakfast spread with breads, meats, cheese, yogurt, cereal, egg, coffee, juice... The rooms are small but very efficient with space usage, and so easy to move around in, with a window on the ceiling that opens up to let in air and sunlight. Despite being on a boat, we didn't feel any motion at all, very calm waters below. We loved our stay here!

family (8/5): Nice and quiet - We had a problem getting in to the hotel as we hadn't received the code for the door and nobody was answering the phone, however once we were allowed in, we found it clean, lovely and quiet (only 1 other room occupied in our bit0 need to bring your own tea bags of course, good breakfast, 20 mins walk from central station and easy walking distance of Gamlastan. Bunk beds were not suitable for small children or old people. It was great to stay on a boat but you could find it cramped for 4 people on a longer stay.
Steve (8/5): A little bit of Venice near the heart of Stockholm - It's hard to compare a converted sailing barge with a conventional hotel, even a B&B. Needless to say, rooms on a barge are smaller and sleeping arrangements are unconventional, but the M/S Monika, which floats in a lovely passage of water just a short metro or bus ride from central Stockholm, is an utterly charming and comparatively very low-cost alternative to the norm.

Trond (8/5): - +ve: clean, cosy, good breakfast, quiet, different, good for kids. -ve: no TV (only dvd), poor quality wifi in room, difficult to get in and out of boat (for elderly), very hot at night (was not told how to regulate temperature first night) dont expect an hotel, you are on your own in a small boat some might feel uncomfortable...
Elizabeth (8/5): Nice hotel with a difference - My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights. Overall it was a nice experience but there were a few things worth pointing out. The room we had (number 4) was very nice however to get down into it there was a double door leading down a steep stairwell- the problem being that only one of the small doors would open (the other was bolted permanently shut) so if you would be slightyly overweight, very tall, elderly or had a very large suitcase you would struggle to access your room. We managed to fit (I weigh 60kg and my partner weighs 75kg) but it was difficult. The room itself was lovely, in keeping with the nautical theme. The triangle shaped bed was very comfy (although it was high off the ground so may be difficult to get into for some people). The other thing which was not great was that even though we had informed the hotel that we would like to stow our luggage until our flight left on the day we checked out, and they initially agreed to that, when we checked out we were told that we couldn't as noone would be there that day. This turned out to be ok for us since the staff told us about the luggage lockers at the train station which were very handy (and saved us going back to the hotel before leaving that afternoon which was a bit of a walk from town). Overall this was a fun experience in a unique hotel.
