- Jim (8/5): - The location of this place was very good. About a mile to the Royal Mile, Castle and Market. Good choices of restaurants in walking distance. 1 of the smallest places I've ever stayed at. I'm 6'0" and I barely fit in the shower. Hardly any room for our luggage without tripping over it. The people running the place were so great. So friendly. Always available for any issues we had. Their 1 son was even an Uber driver which made things very convenient.

Location was perfect - lots of buses that stop right outside and take you directly up to the city centre, but also easily walkable as well. The guest house is also close to the start of trails for Arthur’s Seat. It was very easy to check in and check out, and the guest house was super clean.

- Verified traveler (8/5): A pleasant and comfortable stay. - It's a little away from the city centre, about 25 minutes on foot, and I walked most days. The bus stop is right outside if you don't want to walk and buses run frequently so no problem there. The bathroom was small but clean and people were quiet helpful. No lifts, but they'll give you a hand with the luggage if you ask. They don't serve breakfast but there are plenty of shops nearby. I was a solo female traveller and sometimes left very early in the morning when it still dark and nobody was about, and i felt quite safe. All in all, no complaints, Edinburgh hotels are expensive and this place was good at the price.

The landlord was very friendly, helpful and had good suggestions for activities, restaurants, etc. - parking on the ground available, not free - too expensive compared to other guest houses in the immediate vicinity

- Ryan (10/5): Nice room in guest house - We had a room that looked out over the main road. It gets a little stuffy at night, so we had to open the windows. This made it rather noisy, but otherwise it's a good place to stay. It's clean, comfortable, and walking distance from most things.

There towels and blow dryer as well and water heater. There were nice and accommodating I highly recommend it.. Also, they allowed us to leave out luggages for awhile after our check out time to enjoy the rest of the day.

- John (6/5): - Edinburgh is a relatively expensive city for accommodation, so I assume Blossom Guest House is in line with its cost. There was no breakfast. The room (family) was provided free, when I had booked an ordinary double room. My only negative concerns the provision of a small table and one chair, which was awkward for dining. The hosts were friendly, but I was surprised to be told shortly before checkout that the time to leave was between 10am to 11am.

Room was tiny and bathroom was even tinier would struggle if i was any larger. Guy in next room kept me awake every night coughing his guts up 24/7 could hear through walls. Other guest houses are doing breakfast but this place isnt- very dissapointing

A few difficulties with the parking situation - there is not really enough space for all the cars. Also, the 'continental breakfast' was a little disappointing, though this may just be due to limitations of Covid.

- Brains (2/5): Really disappointing - The best things about this B&B are the convenient bus routes to the city and the Salisbury Arms within walking distance. The room we had was the last one allocated when we got there and according to our Expedia confirmation was "en-suite" and included "full breakfast". The room was tight and included a shower and basin in a cupboard, which my wife could not shut the door to due to the lack of room, the toilet was across the creaky floored hall but was only for our use, accessed by key. The breakfast was self service with cereals, "do-it -yourself" toast, and a warm semi hard boiled egg, not my understanding of a full breakfast. The place was not well decorated or especially clean, parking was tight. In fairness the only staff we saw was a heavily pregnant lady with a small child she was also trying to deal with, she did try.

Nothing was too much trouble, the single room I was in had a quiet outlook over the back garden, a good powerful shower and the bed was fine ( queen size ? ) Great transport links into town with a bus stop only 50 yards away and regular service into old and new parts of town. The walk back to the station on Only took a very gentle 30 minutes.

- Shelley (8/5): Walking distance from Edinburgh City Center - Blossom was just what I was looking for, a place within walking distance of the city center and private parking, for a reasonable rate. My room was cozy, well-organized and clean, with a nice view outside the window. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Since I had to leave very early on my day of departure, my hostess left a bag of breakfast food outside my door.

- Jane (8/5): Good Value, clean, comfortable - Half an hour walk from the city centre or a short bus ride. This is a good value for money guest house in an expensive city. Old fashioned b&b with cereals, toast and pastrie on offer for breakfast. Do not expect any luxuries at this price but my room was clean and warm with good facilities - tv, tea and coffee making facilities, wifi. Nice hot shower. Comfortable bed. Owner/staff were friendly and welcoming. I was visiting my daughter at Uni and it is also quite close to Pollock Halls (10/15 minute walk) so very handy. Would use it again.

He lend us a power adapter, gave us tips for the city and also printed for us our boarding passes. If you're on a budget this is a very good option.

- Lyndall (6/5): Convenient location, sadly a few downsides - Checking in was a positive experience, the host helped me carry my bags up the stairs (I was on the top floor, multiple stair flights!) and quickly settled me in making me feel welcome. The bedroom seemed clean on first look but I discovered a wet bath mat and residue in the sink as if it hadn't been given enough of a once over. The television also wasn't immediately working, but I mentioned this to staff and all was improved quickly. The other disappointment was the late check ins. Both the first and second nights other guests arrived late (2am on the second night) which involved the front door bell being rung and loud conversation in the communal hallway. There seemed to be little regard for other sleeping guests, and on the second night I had to open my door to ask the arriving guests to please lower their voices, as I could hear them through earplugs. Late check ins are a great service but the disruption to other paying guests needs to be minimised. Otherwise the staff were courteous and kind.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We stayed here for two nights. Not very good experience. Only good thing is location as its near to Arthur's seat so after hill walking you can come to your room easily. Rooms : we got a big room with ome spare bed alrhough we didn't ask for that but there was a smell in room which we didnt like much. In my room Internet connection was not good as well. Spring mattress instead of memory foam. Breakfast ; continental breakfast. We asked for baked beans but it was not available. Coffee was terrible. Payment : they charge 5% surcharge if you pay by card so better to have cash. Although it wanot mentioned anywhere while booking. They asked for advance while check in and rest of the amount one night before checkout which was quite unusual. Staff : manager was helpful and we told her about intment problem she offered to use it from lobby or from her desktop. Overall : average stay. Will not book again.

- Shelley (6/5): Cheap Hotel close to heart of city - If you drive a car, parking is Very limited. Only enough spots for 5 cars and the owners take up 1-2 spots every day. And you have to park your car on a tight angle. Breakfast was nice and plentiful and the staff were helpful and friendly. They even offered hot yummy porridge!! We had the only downstairs bedroom which is for families and was a fabulously grand room otherwise all the other rooms are up a long flight of steep stairs, so not too good if you have a lot of bags (which we did), or have physical aliments. Unfortunately I suffered from bed bugs all down my left arm and the house cleaning kept forgetting all the little things so I had to keep asking the staff daily for milk, sugar, tea, garbage bag and extra towels. Also the shower holder needs tightening because it kept flopping down

- Luc (8/5): Thanks for a lovely 3 nights in Edinburgh! - The hostess was friendly and helpful, though we only saw her twice. The breakfast room was adorable, the staff was friendly, though the table cloths could have been cleaner. The continental breakfast was mostly pre-packaged crepes and sweets, canned fruit salad, etc. But, that's fine as it doesn't produce waste and doesn't encourage you to linger when you want to eat quick and get out to explore. ;) Our room was a bit too warm, but we didn't ask about how to control it, so we just left the window open a bit. The view was charming. The only negative comment was the mould along the bottom of the shower (along the door track), and the dirt on the shower floor, and bathroom floor that could have easily been washed away. This in no way detracted from the comfort of the room, and I would certainly return here, especially due to its proximity to the sights.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very Friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable rooms, and easy bus ride into the city centre.
- Stephen (6/5): Decent Room - On arrival the staff were very helpful and took our bag to our room. The guest house itself is run down and tired however the room itself was nicely decorated and comfortable. The bathroom was small but the shower was excellent even if I was banging my elbows off the side. Breakfast was basic and included toast, cereal, fruit and hard boiled eggs. The location is excellent for getting to the city centre, just a 10 minute bus journey. The bus stop is right outside and is only £1.50 each or £8.50 for a family ticket for all day. All in all the room was fine for us as we only needed a bed for the night.
- Jane (8/5): Very helpful innkeepers - The innkeeper booked our bus trip for us when we arrived. The company's phone wasn't working properly but she kept phoning until she got an answer. She also helped us find a laundromat nearby and have us numbers for local buses to get us downtown.
