- Verified traveler (6/5): Average one-night stay - The reception staff was very welcoming and helpful and the breakfast was very good. However, the room (R5), was a bit worn and tired looking and lacked privacy from the adjacent pool area and the walkway to the other units. The main restaurant street is a 20 min walk away and walking after dark was not recommended. Overall, it was an ok one-night stay. However, we had expected more based on the ratings.

- Yvonne (10/5): - Marie is a warm and inviting host, nothing appears to be too much trouble. Our room was spacious with an outdoor seating & patio area. The guest house is on the edge of town and so we used a cab service when heading out for dinner in the evening. Marie organised and booked(very cheap and nice driver) She also recommended 2 restaurants where the food was very good. The Swartberg Pass drive was something else and we were glad to reach the very lovely Prince Albert town which was lovely. The Caves were also worth a visit. We would definitely recommend the Earthbound guest house.

The pool area was comfortable with a fire pit which many guests utilized.The hostess was very helpful with suggesting things for us to do during our stay. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and she even served it earlier than normal to accommodate our early departure.

The owner Marie is a wonderful host, friendly, welcoming, and concerned that our visit was perfect. She is very knowledgeable about places to visit in the area. Her dinner recommendations (Jemima's and Nostalgie) were both excellent. This was one of the nicest b&bs that we visited during a 9-day trip to the Cape region of South Africa. Breakfast served in an intimate outdoor (but enclosed for the cool of the morning) dining area was perfect. We were very pleased with our visit.

The attendant was extremely helpful and friendly. There is a cat on the property who generally stays quiet, and on request, the attendant took her inside since I am allergic to cats.

- Simon (10/5): Great stop - We stayed there one night after a long drive from Franschhoek on road 62. This place was perfect for our day. Close to a couple of good restaurents in town, and in a safe neiborhood. At our arrival we were immidately greeted and showed around the property. The room was really comfortable, and plenty of information were available on what to do in the area. On the next day, we had a delicious breakfast there and were informed on the ostrich farms and the activities to do nearby. Would comeback anytime.

- Alexandra (10/5): Liebevoll gestaltet und sehr sauber - Leider haben wir hier nur eine Nacht verbracht. Das Zimmer 2 ist sehr geräumig mit bequemen Bett und großem modernen Bad. Davor befindet sich ein eigener Bereich mit Tisch und zwei Stühlen sowie einem Kühlschrank. Alles ist sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Einrichtung hat einen esoterischen Touch und die Hausherrin gestaltet vieles selber. Der Garten mit Poolbereich ist sehr schön gestaltet. Hier befindet sich auch eine überdachte Terrasse. Dort kann man Abends wunderbar sitzen. Getränke (alkoholisch und nonalkoholisch) sind vorhanden und werden auf Vertrauensbasis zur Abrechnung bei Abreise angeboten. Auf der Terrasse wird auch das Frühstück serviert. Massagen werden ebenfalls auf dem Zimmer angeboten, wofür unsere Zeit aber leider nicht gereicht hat. Die Hausherren und die Bediensteten sind sehr nett. Das WiFi war umsonst, aber leider auch nur sehr schwach. Da sonst alles prima war, trotzdem volle Punktzahl.

It looks like nothing from the outside but inside it is like a secret garden. My room was spacious clean and decorated beautifully. The pool here is very nice with comfortable seating areas.

- Julia (10/5): Bestes Hotel auf unserer Rundreise durch Südafrika - Das B&B ist absolut klasse - die beste Unterkunft, die wir auf unserer Rundreise in Südafrika hatten mit dem besten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Wir zahlten ca 67€ pro Zimmer und Nacht. Der Pool ist schön zum entspannen nach einem anstrengenden Tag, sauber und hübsch. Zimmer mit kleiner Küche und riesig groß. Die Vermieterin ist sehr hilfsbereit und man fühlt sich wie bei Freunden Zuhause :) wir kommen nochmal wieder.
- Nathalie (10/5): - Beautiful boutique B&B with mod comodiities (air con!). The room was very spacious as was the bathroom with a free standing tub and walking shower. Kitchen corner available in the room with utensils and delicious breakfast made to order, served outside (in the shade) by the pool. We were only here for one night on route to Cape Town but I would’ve loved to have stayed longer if we had the time, I would defiantly recommend it!
- Carol (10/5): A very good place to stay - We stayed at Earthbound B&B in early September and really enjoyed our brief visit. The property is located in a residential area and provides secure parking. It is a short walk to a local cafe or a short drive to a nearby shopping centre. The rooms (we had Room 5) are clean and comfortable, with a fantastic shower and quirky decoration. There is a pool (which we didn't use) and breakfast is ample and nicely presented. Our hostess was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this property.

The host was attentive, the room beautifully decorated and the attention to detail, not only in the B&B, but to clients' surrounding holiday needs are outstanding, with restaurant information and maps to hand in the bed rooms. Breakfast was also ample and delicious. We had an amazing overnight stay and highly recommend Earthbound B&B.

- Terry (10/5): Superb - Of all the lovely places we stayed in South Africa, Earthbound was the best. Shame we were only there for one night – wish we had planned a week! The rooms are fabulously decorated and fully equipped – right down to separate shower and bathtub and even slippers and bathrobes for use around the pool. Each room has its own private outdoor seating area, and the garden and pool area is a delightful place to relax. Marie was so friendly and helpful, and insisted on providing us with a tray of breakfast items for our early morning departure. Thank you!

I do think that the ingredient top-ups at breakfast were a bit excessive but otherwise it was a fantastic stay. The room had every possible amenity and the aircon was a lovely relief from the Oudtshoorn heat!

Owner said control (handle for control) had a problem due to gas hot water heater. I have gas water heater at home without any problem. All other amenities were good.

She is very hands-on, and totally committed to ensuring each and every guest is 100% comfortable. She is also very charming. My room was lovely, quirky without being too over the top, and the bathroom was sublime - a lovely little Victorian hip-bath and a full walk-in wet room type separate shower. Lots of little touches to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of the client. Great breakfast and all in all a place I would visit a second and third time. Brava Maria!!
- Britta (8/5): Friendly, cosy B&B - Very friendly reception and our hosts did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible from booking a lovely restaurant for dinner with a table on the fire place and pick up from the hotel to trips the next days. The room was cosy and nicely decorated although it was freezing but there was aircon and a heater in the bathroom. We got a hot chocolate on arrival to warm up. Breakfast was relatively basic but ok in an covered outdoor area with gas heaters and blankets. Very friendly place and good base to explore the surrounding sights.

- David (10/5): Spotlessly clean - Set in a quiet street this is a great place to relax. The owner is almost obsessive in keeping everything neat and tidy. The breakfast servers and room maids are encouraged to talk with the guests, which is nice to see in the modern South Africa. The breakfasts are really good, and each room has its own patio area if you don't want to eat with other guests - we didn't see anybody take up this option though.

We stayed here on our way to Cango Caves (it's only 40 mins away), and we were very close to the town centre for the night. They gave us a nice gift as well as we were were on our honeymoon, which was pretty good given the price

If there wasn't something in that room I'm sure she'd get it for you. The rooms were spotless, decent size and you want for nothing. They were kind enough to let us have a slightly later breakfast as we weren't on the meerkat tour in the morning and missed the official time.

- Mark (10/5): Lovely touches to make stay special - Earthbound B&B has taken a lot of effort to think of everything you could need and squeeze it in! The room itself was relatively small but no space was wasted and with a private outside eating area (complete with heater and blankets) and a pool and BBQ area for better weather that is not a problem.The B&B may not be as central as some but was only a short walk from the centre of Oudtshoorn and a great base for exploring the area. Thoroughly recommend Earthbound B&B!

Bad points were the small bed and noisy room (the window didn't close properly so we were woken by barking dogs and traffic).

- Paul and Heather (10/5): The most friendly and accommodating host . - We were made to feel very welcome at this very pleasant guesthouse.The room was beautifully decorated and there was every thing you could need and more.A welcome sherry and an offer to be taken or picked up from the hosts restaurant was offered but the accommodation was not far from town.Easy to visit the caves and osritch farms and of course the best ostrich to be eaten.Breakfast each morning came in a basket to be eaten on our private terrace.A lovely stay.
- laurie (6/5): not impressed - a little overpriced for what we got. No door on bathroom so the people in bedroom can see and hear whatever is going on in there,so no privacy. The 2nd bed and 3rd bed for the other 2 guests was a pull out couch that was really uncomfortable. There is a leak in the roof so we had to move the couch away creating a space problem in the bigger room. The host was very kind and friendly helping us out with bedding and mattress for a 5th guest that she did not charge us for. I would say this is good if you cant find anything else, but I think it was a little too much to pay for what we got
