Guest Reviews
- Sema (8/5): - Très belle propriété. Pièces et chambres décorées avec goût. Confortable.
Petit déjeuner correct.
Attention, si vous n'êtes pas véhiculé, prévoyez du budget pour le tuk tuk. Le logement se trouve à +/- 6 km du centre. RAS
- Beena (10/5): A Perfect Holiday - This was our 2nd visit to Devra and we look forward to coming back again. Everything about this property is just right for us... The location is serene and secluded, yet just 15 minutes from the city centre. The food is the perfect balance of delicious and healthy. The rooms retain their old world charm while being equipped with every modern amenity. The hosts are gracious and the staff smiling and courteous. A big plus for us is that the property welcomes pets and there is ample space for them to have a great time.
- Disha (7/5): Good - They did not allow card payment
- Beena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nikhil (10/5): Homely stay with beautiful views - The location is surreal with a great mountain view (Great point for a sunrise view). The owner Major DD was very welcoming and had some great stories to tell! The staff (Umesh bhaiya) was so accommodating that they even packed us a home made cake for our journey onwards. They also have 2 cute dogs Olive and Rider (This one loves belly rubs).Overall one should come to this place to get away from the city hustle. The location is slightly difficult to locate. The last 200 metres are confusing.
- Nikul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amit (10/5): Loved the experience. Would love to visit again. - We stayed at the property for a night only on route to our destination. The entire experience at Devra was beautiful. From the ambience of the place to the warmth and hospitality of the owners and the helpfulness of the staff. Travelled with our pet and she also was made to feel super welcome. The food was also extremely good. Clean, tasteful and homemade. This place is a must stay for anyone who loves a warm and pleasant atmosphere among nature.
- Ruth (10/5): Tranquil home stay just outside of Udaipur - Wow what a stay! To start, the view over the hills and the surrounding lakes are stunning complemented by the various rooftops and balconies. The pool was very relaxing, while watching the local farm animals and inhabitant birds. The icing on the cake were the homestay owners and staff. General DD is a very interesting man, and his wife Joti is an excellent host, attending to every need and running an excellent cooking class. The food we ate after that class was absolutely delicious! One of the best meals of our monthlong trip.Devra exceeded all expectations, thank you!

- Ankita (10/5): Highly recommend!! - Everything! This was my second time at the property and it is an amazing place to stay if you are looking for a nice quiet place. The pool is stunning and the food was some of the best I had eaten in the state.
- Dr (10/5): Exceptional - Calm and close to nature, food, owners hospitality Nothing specific
- Aniko (10/5): Exceptional - The best place near Udaipur. Nice owners, beautiful property. Absolutely recommend this place!
Food is also delicious!
Thanks for having us!
- Nikki (8/5): Great spot! - Hotel and staff were amazing and in a nice quite location just out of town. Our room was lovely and we had everything we needed the only downside was that we were not aware or told at check in that dinner and a drink was an extra charge and given a bill at the end of our stay asking to pay in cash only. It seams expected that you would obviously pay for dinner I know but the way it was asked of us and the fact we were not told of the prices etc in advance made it very awkward.
- Nikesh John (10/5): Calm and comfortable home stay - It is a home stay and not a hotel. Hence, the room and bathroom was very spacious. Hot water and AC were available. There were 3 balconies for my room and all giving fantastic scenic views of mountains. The cool and fresh air was refreshing and the morning sun coming on one of the balconies really give a bright starting to your day. It is around 7-8km from the main city, in a village. The food was personsalized, healthy and tasty. The owner and wife really care for you. The cons are that, there is no TV or Wifi. It is a bit off from the main road and every taxi driver may not know it well.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lonely hotel. - They should have TV in the room.
- M (10/5): Home away from home - The devra is a good hotel for those who want to escape the noise pollution of the Indian streets. It is surrounded by mountains and the landscape so green. The air is clean and refreshing. It has a simple basic charm to it. Very homey and comfortable. You wake up to the sounds of dogs barking and the birds. I will definitely go back.
- Wendy (10/5): Excellent in every way - A excellent 4 night stop here. The Major and his wife, and staff, were all very helpful and did everything possible to make your stay welcoming, comfortable and personal. There was plenty of space to sit and relax in the sun or in the shade, in a comfy armchair inside or on the terrace or in the gardens.
Rooms were spacious, comfy, clean, had good views of the surrounding countryside.
There was a minimal choice for breakfast but adequate and tasty. The one morning because there were only a four in the hotel and it was such a sunny lovely morning they moved breakfast from the breakfast room onto the front terrace.
An evening meal was available at Devra if you booked it of a morning. A good selection of home cooked Indian food. They made sure that you had a different selection of food for your evening meal on a subsequent evening with them.
It was well worth the 15 drive out to this residence as it was quiet and peaceful and the views fantastic. You woke to birds singing, and not horns honking(like in Delhi). One of the staff soon sorted a taxi when you needed one whether it be for a quick journey into Udaipur or all day.
There was plenty to do in Udaipur and the surrounding area, including going a walk along the lanes and fields.
Wifi wasn't available throughout the hotel and sometimes they turned it off but if you asked they soon put it on.
If you go to the top of Monson Palace you can clearly work out where devra is.
- Farenheit (8/5): One Thousand One Nights - The hotel is wonderfull Indian traaditional decoration. Restaurant and services are very good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fabulous Property with astonishingly great view - Stayed at the Hotel for transit through Udaipur, and break neck pace Tourism. All anxiousness evaporated on reaching with the extremely genuine warm welcome extended by a courteous staff. Half the battle won in their favour, the next half was won by the staff again through their cooperation and friendly but respectable approach during Dinner et al. Lovely home cooked food. Excellent place to stay with nil regrets whatsoever, and would love to avail accommodation at the really Royal feel place again and again.
- arnab (4/5): Very far from city and food a problem - Hotel is very far from the city, food is a problem as breakfast option are limited, even though they charge INR 250 per person. problem due to expedia booking error made the stay even more stale. Location for a couple is exotic, however for friends wanting a good time, have a second option to it.
- ashish & anshu (10/5): Devra a beautiful experience! - The location of the property was though a bit away from the city, but the scenix beauty of the plave in the mornings was beyond imagination. Mrs & Major Dass along with their staff were a great hosts. The peopertyas defined as a homestay, truely was a nice experience along with evenings in the living room with mrs and maj. Dass are unforgetable.
