• Michellemg2000 (10/5): Great hotel - Great location, breakfast isn't fancy but is satisfying. Staff are amazing and so helpful. I prefer the triple rooms, for that little bit of extra room. Its close to all my favourite shops, restaurants and beauty/massage spas. My most favourite security/doorman Agung welcomed us back, always love to see his smiling face, all staff are so friendly and welcoming. See you all again in August. We had to leave to go home

• wendy (8/5): Perfect for a 'last day stay' before flying out! - Grandmas is a no-fuss hotel in a great location surrounded by heaps of shops, cafe's and restaurants (Garlic Lane is just around the corner) and it's just a short walk to the beach! It's cheap, cheerful, modern, comfy and basic (we opted for a 'cosy room' A$28/night) as we were flying out at 11.30pm. We actually paid for 2 nights, but only slept there the first night and checked out at 8pm on the second night - this allowed us to chill out on our last day, do a bit of shopping - re-pack our bags and go out for sunset cocktails and dinner at the Azul Bar just down the road on the beach (fabulous)! Yes our room was tiny...but we really only wanted a bed and a shower, so it worked out really well with no last minute stress getting to the airport and juggling 1 extra bag than what we came with!! Nothing at all - just remember this is a basic no-frills hotel, so don't expect the fridge to be full of drinks and snacks.

• K10V (10/5): Are you serious?? - Came across this hotel though a random search for Hotels in Kuta. Initially was apprehensive about booking here assuming the quality of services they may offer and the room condition for the price listed; read a lot of reviews and checked a lot of traveller photos and videos before gaining some heart and booking this Hotel for a week. When I arrived here I was in awe; the room condition, the services in offer and the cleanliness maintained is way above the price-range of these rooms. The hotel is located in the prime Legian neighbourhood with a lot of shops, spas, supermarkets and hotels lined across the street, and the beach about 15 mins away by walk. Any cuisine, you have it by walking 10 mins in any direction. The famous Legian Foodcourt too is about 10 mins away by walk where one may explore street food. If lazy, Bella Italia at the ground floor serves some amazing Pizzas and Risottos (they have a varied menu, while I got a chance to try only these 2), while Grandmas themselves serve some very good breakfast at cheaper prices compared to the restaurants around. The Spa attached to the property, Rehat Spa, was a welcome after a tired day, though you may like to have the slots reserved in advance as last minute availability is tough. I had a couple of requests before check-in which were politely addressed by the front desk. A big thank you for that ! Because you met my requests, my kids were able to have a good night sleep all through the week. The housekeeping guys were fantastic ! What's more satisfying than seeing that clean and perfect room with replaced sheets and towels, every evening when you return room tired. The staff (at the Front Desk, Restaurant, Housekeeping and Security) were polite, always greeted and ever carried a smile. If planning to Kuta/Legian again, GrandMas is gonna be at the top of my list. Thank you for making my stay easy !

There's no fan in the reception and only one elevator was running when we stayed, so we used the steps most times as waiting time took too long.

• Barns (7/5): Enjoyable - Location, staff and for the price, the breakfast was ok. Very well priced hotel. The girls at breakfast serving were the best thing about the hotel. Very friendly and very helpful. There is no swimming pool. I was sure that I saw photos of a pool. I only stopped two nights though, so it was passable without the pool, but not for any longer. The noise from the traffic was terrible. I did not get hardly any sleep, bring ear plugs and it would be great to just stop over before a flight. I will be back for sure.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. IS. AN. DP was excellent — her service and behavior were truly outstanding. The food was also very good, always fresh and satisfying. I really enjoyed the super fast WiFi and Google TV in the room, which made the stay even more comfortable. The room price is very affordable, offering great value for money. The location is also convenient, with easy access to nearby attractions and the beach. Overall, a perfect combination of comfort, service, and price. Highly recommended — I will definitely come back again.
