• Alexis (8/5): This hotel was Fun and cute,and I will definitely return to the city again but at a hotel that’s *actually* soundproof. - I loved the location. Very close to anything you’d want to do, unless you’re going to Andersonville, but even then, only a 20 minute uber. The rooms are listed as “soundproof” and the are not. There’s a huge gap under the door that feels like a safety hazard. You could hear the neighbors pretty easily.

• Echols (10/5): - Location for price waa unbeatable. Comfortable room and friendly staff unmatched as well. 3 elevators but it feel like only 1 worked consistently. But they were nice, and the girl next door let us use theirs as well, so it really wasn't that bad
• Deborah (7/5): A really nice hotel spoiled by pot smoke - Wonderful location. Rooms were large with comfortable beds. Restaurant in lobby quite good. The smell of marijuana was strong in elevators and came in through ventilation system into our room. We were told by the front desk there was nothing they could do because many of the guests like to “partake.” The clientele was young urban and the language in the hallways and lobby was not suitable for families.

Everyone said happy birthday to him, offered us breakfast and there was even towels arranged to look like a birthday cake. Absolutely wonderful people who made our stay such a pleasure! Thank you!!!

Room was clean and spacious There was no separation from the bathroom space to sleeping space so when I was in the bathroom at night, the lights would bother my wife and kid. That was really inconvenient. Also wish it had a better parking situation. My wife also informed me that I slept through a loud disturbance from the police next room over.

They said they'll fullfill our request over email but on the day of the checkin they backed out. Rooms are compact and you can't really open curtains on the lower level room. (Just fyi if you care about such things)

• Miranda (8/5): It was a really good experience and I would like to stay here again! - Once we arrived at the property we were greeted and since it was my boyfriend’s birthday that we were celebrating they gave us some vouchers for the restaurant in the hotel. Once at the room it was clean and a nice view. The bed was comfortable for the most part. When it was time to check out it was a very fast and simple check out. The only complaint would be the bed was pretty creaky. Every time we would turn, get on or get off it would be really loud.

• mouranruyan (2/5): Serious Bathroom Safety Concern & Disappointing Handling - I stayed at this hotel earlier this year and suffered a serious fall in the bathroom when the shower floor became extremely slippery the moment the water was turned on. I hit my head against the exposed metal frame of the glass divider, resulting in a deep laceration and head injury that required ongoing medical treatment over the following months. What disappointed me most was the handling of the incident afterward. The hotel’s insurance representative provided shifting explanations regarding safety measures, and key questions about the scene conditions and investigation were never clearly addressed. Despite providing documentation and evidence, responsibility was repeatedly deflected, and the process became prolonged, confusing, and emotionally exhausting. As a guest, I expected transparency, accountability, and a genuine concern for safety, but these were not demonstrated throughout the process. I strongly encourage future guests to exercise caution and hope the hotel takes these safety issues seriously to prevent similar incidents.

• gefilte63 (6/5): Good Location, Awkward Room Setup - I'm not sure if all Alofts are set up this way, but the room was quite awkward. It takes open concept too far. It is not possible to turn on the bathroom lights without illuminating the entire room. Why is there a frosted glass window that looks out on the bedroom. The designers tried to be clever and boutiquey and instead you get a room that is awkward--I'm glad we only stayed two nights. The location is good. A few blocks from Michigan Avenue and close to lots of restaurants. The lobby is always buzzing. The restaurant (we did not eat there) was busy and noisy. It was not a calming feeling to walk into the place. I don't think I'd stay here again.

• Roam08490354520 (10/5): Marathon week stay - Stayed at the aloft hotel for a week during the marathon last week with a couple of hundred runners and I have to say it was top class. Very attentive staff who were extremely friendly. The hotel is very modern and trendy and in a brilliant location with the river walk only a ten minute walk while a nearby train station in river west takes you to o’ hare on the blue line. I dealt mainly with Richard Owen’s at the front desk who was amazing and could t have done more for me and my team. Top marks to Richard and look forward to next year. Carlos also at the front desk was great help on check out day. Thanks Carlos. See ye next year.
• I_WAS_BEACHGRRRRRL (10/5): Wonderful Experience from Start to Finish-Just Excellent! - I cannot say enough good things about our experience at the Aloft Chicago River North. The staff was amazing, they went above and beyond making our first trip to Chicago special for an important weekend. The hotel was clean and well appointed, our room was great, we had such a good time with Aloft River North as our home base. It was fun as well to have another space to be, playing pool in the lobby and having a drink at the bar. We truly appreciated the attention to detail and the warm welcome we received here. It is the only place I would stay if visiting Chicago again!
