Guest Reviews
- Landon (9/5): - Good location, excelent comfy cabin
- Jenny (8/5): -
- Louise (10/5): - Beautiful comfortable room with gorgeous scenery.
- Duran (10/5): - Quiet, clean and only a short drive for supplies.
- Gregg (6/5): - Please fix the toilet seat. Very annoying.
A suggestion for the kitchen to create more bench space.... Maybe over cabinets to store crockery and cutlery in. Fridge on the floor under bench maybe. And microwave in a cabinet above the bench. Very little room for food preparation.
- Dreyer (9/5): - Location, a hidden gem in the Mt cotton / Redland Bay area. Boutique share hotel with plenty of privacy.
- Dann (8/5): -
- Rose69 (10/5): -
- Jeanne (9/5): Lovely leafy surroundings - very quite - good to relax and rewind - Very relaxing and peaceful Night time driving back from eating out - found it very difficult to find entrance - perhaps a light on the sign would be helpful — a very busy road to try to turn in when unfamiliar
- Susan (10/5): Large room, soft comfortable bed with lovely pillows. Lovely warm shower in ensuite bathroom, wonderful veranda for quie - The lovely bush surroundings.
- Rose69 (10/5): -
- Jodie (10/5): -
- Kaitlin (9/5): - Feels more like a homey bed and breakfast, absolutely lovely. Staff were very kind and welcoming. Would recommend, especially for the price!
- jeanette (7/5): Was a quick visit, served it’s purpose. Maybe if we had more time to appreciate the surrounding grounds would have been - Very peaceful and lovely grounds Uncomfortable bed, toilet seat broken, no jug and no toilet paper
- Wayne (10/5): - Very helpful staff
- Dylan (10/5): -
- Diya (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (8/5): -
- Danielle Davis (9/5): - The view The hard bed
- Natahlia (7/5): Great for location to our event but overall not worth the price - Nice view, great layout. Our fridge didn’t work, tried all the trouble shooting issues, the floor was extremely dirty & room was so dusty. There were ALOT of bugs in our bathroom upon arrival, the bed sheets were so dirty.
- Gordon (10/5): Loved it - would be happy to return - Own balcony facing the forest A chair would be nice
- Cathy (10/5): It was a great stay. We will be returning ☺️ - Beautiful position. You sit on the balcony and look over the bush and tropical gardens. We stayed in a large ensuite room with small kitchen in a lovely big house. The self serve breakfast bar was a bonus. You help yourself in the huge dining area
- Shane (9/5): my wife and I had a lovely stay there and we would do it again in a heartbeat. - Beautiful location with stunning views from the back deck looking out into the trees, very relaxing 🙏 very quiet even though we stayed in the superior Hotel room, it was like we were the only ones there, Sue the host was lovely, upon arrival my wife was struggling with here luggage and Sue helped her to the room with with her suitcase which was great service, very close to a shopping centre with the biggest IGA I have ever been into and plenty of other places to get takeout with food and alcohol and coffee etc.. a nice massive park if you have kids to feed the ducks or play in the playground right next to the shopping centre as well, would stay at
Mount Cotton retreat again and a heartbeat, might try one of the Cabins next time and stay for a little longer, Highly recommended✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅ Aircon needs cleaning as mould build up and the 2 x single chairs in the room are well past there used by date, they are not to safe to sit on, very rickety, but this was not a problem though because we spent most of our time out the back on the solid outdoor chairs looking at the stunning views and wildlife passing by.
- Lilli (10/5): -
- akiva (9/5): -
- Verma (9/5): -
- Samantha (7/5): Beautiful location! Peaceful! - Loved the view! It’s on me I suppose but I was not aware we didn’t have a private cabin
- Michael (8/5): -
- Georgina (8/5): Excellent -
- Paulette (10/5): Our stay was very pleasant and we will recommend the accommodation to family and friends. - The location was quiet and serene. The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The attention to guest comfort was appreciated. An extra towel per guest for a 3 night stay would have been helpful. Although the towels provided were plush and lovely.
- David (9/5): -
- Kerstin (3/5): Disappointed - Did not want to eat there. Crawling with ants all over kettle. Ants. Toilet didn’t work so hubby had to fix. Bed was hard. Very basic and not enjoyable at all.
- Stephen (10/5): - Everything, it was peaceful, great location and the cabin had everything needed to feel more relaxed. The only thing is the signage out the front...very easily missed and can cause an accident
- Alan (9/5): -
- lee (8/5): -
- Andrea (7/5): - Feels like being at home. Clean and comfortable. Rain water supplied to rooms needs a filter.
- bjorn (10/5): This was our second stay here, high quality feel and relaxing atmosphere. - Amazing location. Very unique. Nothing
- Chloe (8/5): -
- Wotherspoon (10/5): Great environment peaceful and conveniently located. - Lovely space. The beds in the cubbys were great.
Very clean. Lovely and peaceful. The bathroom wasn’t convenient.
- Shane Gibson (8/5): releax on your balcony in the native bush - location was great
sue was very helpful with places to go in the area and great advice on local transport
balcony overlooking the native bush was excellent the accomm was great
this is in no way disrespect but to bring the accomm up to a 9 a little maintainance and attention to detail when cleaning would help
but we had a great stay and enjoyed the location
cheers
- Dreece (10/5): -
- Sally (10/5): Such a beautiful part of Qld.redland Bay Area is beautiful - The location was amazing. Serenity Nothing
- Christian (10/5): -
- Jenny (8/5): - Very quiet
- clive (8/5): Will definatly stay again - outlook was relaxing and birdsong and frogs made it special Mountain road was noisy at times, especially motorbikes, but other than that, it was tranquil.
- Christie (10/5): Certainly lives up to the retreat vibe. I didn’t want to go anywhere and leave the beautiful outlook and calming bush s - The outlook into the tree tops and the modern, comfortable interior. Only small negative was the fridge. It wasn’t quite cool enough but adequate.
- Julia (5/5): Beautiful property in a beautiful setting, could be cleaner - Great location - beautiful bush setting. Good value for money Lots of dog hair, smelled strongly like dog. Towels and bedding smelt like dog. Not mopped properly
- Robert (10/5): Perfect bush retreat to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the comfortable surroundings. - I loved the verandah - just some mesh between myself and nature. It was so peaceful and serene. Very comfortable furniture, easily accessible and close to our venue. Excellent communication from owners advising about entry and cabin, location etc. Lovely greeting from staff member. Shower head was loose, making the water difficult to get under. Not a big problem and easily fixable.
- Tye (10/5): -
- Sandra (9/5): -
Onze meest favoriete accommodatie in Australië.
- Jac (6/5): - Was advertised with wifi but there is no wifi in rooms. Also bed was very hard and bedding wasnt great. Toilet seat wasnt attached and coffee machine was broken. The location more than makes up for the shortcomings but with a bit of updating of technology and beds etc could be so much nicer. Has definite five star potential but needs work and no wifi when advertised to have it is a bit rude at this price point.
- Siereveld (8/5): -
- Tara (10/5): -
- Lesley (10/5): -
- Emily (10/5): A terrific find! - We stayed in 2 Deluxe Rooms in the boutique hotel section of the property. The rooms are attractively decorated, comfortable and clean, and Sue (the manager) went above and beyond to take care of the needs of my mum who has limited mobility. We appreciated the breakfast facilities, and the fridge /coffee making supplies in our rooms. And the property is lovely and leafy and private. Would definitely stay again.
- ash (10/5): Stunning! - Everything! The location, the accomodation, the friendly staff and beautiful views Nothing.
- Lauren (8/5): -
- karampal (7/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Kim (9/5): Lovely! Would certainly look forward to returning.. - Quiet bush location nestled amongst mature trees and ferns. Charming main accommodation wings with shared breakfast facilities and tables all with lovely views. Good wifi. Timber floors. Large shower. Spacious rooms. Lovely host and staff. 10 minutes to major shopping centre with great coffee shops / cafes and bistro-bar/restaurants. 20 minutes to the water. There was nothing I didn't like, but it is built and laid out on a mountain, car accommodation for the main building is 20m up a hill, and an outside stroll would involve a bit of up/down. There is a covered drop-off / pick-up area right by the main entrance door, though. Something to perhaps consider if you were somehow expecting perfectly flat terrain.
- Caroline (10/5): Great place to relax. I would return. - Chose not to use the breakfast facilities but they looked great. No Wifi Service, but maybe they were having issues beyond their control at the time we stayed.
- Hanna (10/5): -
- Bronwyn (10/5): - Beautiful and peaceful location in the hills, welcome treats and complimentary port in the room. Breakfast included. Very welcoming manager. We stayed in a boutique hotel room it - highly recommend
- William (8/5): Lovely self contained accommodation in bush setting - Lovely spacious room looking out to the bush Noise from the road. Could double glazing be considered?
No washing machine- we were staying for 5 nights as part of a long road trip so that would have been helpful. We did laundry elsewhere
- adam (10/5): -
- Blaire (2/5): - Shower head has to be held up when you turn it on for the water pressure to hold it up, no blinds or block out curtains, only sheers so limited privacy.
- Leenore (7/5): Good - We were happy on the whole. The water did stop at night which made us a bit anxious but the problem was fixed immediately. There was someone in Unit 1 who played loud music, and the lake water seemed a little low, but that is beyond anyone's control.
- katietrav (10/5): - Beautiful stay. Couldn't fault one thing!
- Alexandra (8/5): Beautiful, secluded, warm and welcoming boutique hotel with old world charm and wonderful atmosphere. - Sue was very warm and welcoming. Reception area lovely, complimentary food and drink was great. We loved our room, 4 poster bed was beautiful. Shower was great, water temp and pressure was perfect! Complimentary port was a lovely surprise. Lovely room! Comfy bed, loved the little balcony. Plenty of Parking. We were going to a wedding in the area and we had to iron my dress and my partners outfit on a small desk size ironing board. This was very hard, it would have been nice to have a full size ironing board to make this so much more manageable. The fridge was tiny too. Very hard to keep some bottles of wine cold for our little stay.
- Overton (10/5): -
- Grant (8/5): -
- Angela (9/5): -
- Kylie (4/5): - The location and scenery were wonderful. The home itself was beautiful. There was an awful urine smell in the home, the bathroom door did not close (lucky we're pretty good friends!) and ants in the main kitchen.
- Patricia (8/5): - Viet and secluded location Very daark when coming or going at night.
- Grant (8/5): Very good -
- Liam (9/5): Superb -
- Mansfield (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were incredibly friendly, warm and helpful, especially Nicole. We loved the peace. Great water pressure in shower, and comfortable beds. Great location close to shops and cafes yet secluded. Came back after 9pm one night and the road was so dark we couldn't find the driveway. My only feedback would be to place a light near the entry sign.
- Bruce (10/5): Great Place to Unwind and Relax - Great location and ambience
- Helen (9/5): Wonderful and recommended! Thanks - Quiet and beautiful setting Something wasn’t quite right but it was discussed and sorted so not mentioning
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - Nice bush setting. Lovely dining area. Comfortable room and good bathroom.
- Vicki (8/5): Very good - Peaceful Dusty
- Lara_murray (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kelly (9/5): Amazing place to stay. Close to the winery where we were attending an event. Highly recommend - Stunning location. Loved the bird song Wifi didn’t work.
- Debbie (8/5): Very good -
- Peta (10/5): Relaxing in the bush - Perfect location for relaxing. Within a day, we felt ourselves de-stress. We bought in our own water as we weren't used to the taste.
- Jéssica (5/5): Passable - The view was amazing and staff very friendly. The advert said it had a bath but no and the room was inside a house, this wasn't specified before.
- Miranda (10/5): Room was beautiful, clean, comfortable. Balcony with timber chairs and table. Many little extras. - The accommodation was perfect. Beautiful, clean, comfortable. The balcony was an amazing addition to the room which was situated within the homestead. Incredible views, quite, relaxing and really enjoyed sitting on the balcony to watch the sunrise. Bathroom was spacious, had a heater built into the lights, very hot water, very clean with all the little extras like body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Has a little room which contains a bar fridge, microwave, clothes hanging facilities as well as an iron and ironing board. There were complimentary chocolates and milk in the fridge, coffee, tea, sugar, plates/cutlery/glasses on a small table all for your use. Free wifi and smart TV and plenty of room to unpack your luggage. Large thick rug on the floor which was lovely and warm on the crisp weather mornings. Check in was so easy considering we were arriving after hours. LOVED LOVED EVERYTHING. Nothing.
- Luke (10/5): - Very tidy cabin. Peaceful and relaxing
- Robert (9/5): Beautiful spot to come back to each night after our daily activities. - Great location in the hills, reasonably quiet. Very large room, comfortable. Pathway lighting.
- Mike (9/5): Private cabins set in a quiet secluded bush setting. - Private cabins set in a quiet secluded bush setting. Full kitchen and dining area. Theres also a covered screened balcony attached to the building. Parking outside the room. Close to walks. Wifi is only available up at reception which made planning what to see and do a little more challenging. The kitchen window didn't open and there was no vent over the oven to remove the cooking smells. The bed was very firm and needs a little padding on the top.
- Sumana (8/5): Very good -
- Alissa (9/5): Superb -
- Tayla (7/5): Good - The location was beautiful The cabin floor was sticky and still had pet fur on it, some of the dishes had to be rewashed as they were still dirty.
- Tracey (10/5): - Felt secluded among the trees, close to some wonderful walks.
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely beautiful just loved the location amongst the trees our room was lovely and loved sitting out in the dining room which was screened looking out over the garden very reaxing will definitely be back and will tell all my friends family about this beautiful retreat sue the owner was very friendly and has done a wonderful job buliding and maintaining her beautiful retreat
- Vincent (8/5): Very good - Very quiet and secluded. We got scolded for talking too loudly after returning to the cabin from a concert.
- Bronwen (9/5): A beautiful location, with excellent, comfortable interior decor and an enclosed sunny balcony. - Location is suberb even though parking was difficult as the adjoining car was also a 4WD and the space between cars made opening doors difficult. The interior decor is excellent. Even though we don't drink port, the supplied chocolates were appreciated. We will definitely return - next time to the lakeside pavilion which might be more protected from road noise. We loved the small dishwasher and the enclosed balcony area. Sound proofing the property from road noise would help both day and night. The coffee machine didn't work and the repalcement was infested with an ant colony! We resorted to instant coffee. Scissors would have been a good adddition to the supplied utensils and we have come to expect a mid-week change of towels, supplied tissues and toilet paper to last the 8 days. We struggled with use of the induction cooktop and there were no supplied instructions. The neighbour was noisy during the day, with the TV and music turned up too high.
- Lee (8/5): Very good -
- Carolyn (9/5): Lovely and welcoming, Sue was very helpful, room was lovely and clean, gorgeous view. - It was lovely to have some cereal for breakfast, as we had been provided with no information about the food, and had thought there wasn't anything included. There was complimentary coffee sachets in the room, however there was only 1 in date. The other ones went out of date in March 2024 and March 2023. I opened one of them and the coffee was black and had gone off.
