• T3911MCjuliew (10/5): A little gem. - A little gem. Tucked away just 10 minutes walk from the heart of Bath. This hotel may be small but has bags of character. We had a garden suite which was cosy, comfortable, charming and perfectly appointed. Breakfast was delicious. Bath is hilly, hence a graduated walk up the hill on your return from the city centre which was not difficult and there are plenty of taxis available should you prefer a lift back! There is a private carpark which fills up quickly - so arrive early. We had a fun weekend break, staying here. Thank you.

• Amy (8/5): - The cooked breakfast was excellent! Being on the hill had lovely views, king bed was super comfy, good sized room. The bathroom was clean, good hot water and pressure. Staff were lovely. I had a large suitcase and we were in a room on the 1st floor so I had to drag in up the stairs. The bathroom was very small, the shower very tight.

• 225kevinf (8/5): Lovely stay at Oldfield’s in Bath 2026 - Lovely convenient bed & breakfast just a short walk from Bath town, train station & bus terminal. We were very pleased with our room, very clean, warm (air con available), comfortable bed & pillows, we didn’t have the breakfast as we preferred to walk into town and eat there. The only down side was the en-suite was very tired and could do with a bit of tlc and the parking is very tight on their driveway. Saying that we would stay there again.

It was well located, a bit outside of center but its very quickly accessed within 15 minutes. We would definitely stay here again if we visit Bath! • Juliet (8/5): Character stay in Bath - The building, our room, lounge and breakfast room had character and the garden was pretty. It was good to be able to park our car and walk into town. Breakfast was very good; continental and cooked both available and prepared with a lot of care. There were add-ons, post initial booking. Primarily breakfast and parking.

• E782XDamyw (10/5): Absolute bliss! - Cannot recommend highly enough! 2 night stay. Beautiful place. Gorgeous bar/lounge area to relax and enjoy a drink from the bar. Beautiful garden to sit-in the right weather! Bedrooms were absolutely spotless fresh and clean. Beautiful touches such as personal note, complimentary bottle of water, robes and slippers. Loved the fact could have the radiator for warmth or air con for cooler room. Staff upon arrival to breakfast to leaving were all absolutely lovely and welcoming friendly bunch. Breakfast was fresh hot and very tasty! Highly recommend and will definitely return! If able to is a 15/20 minute walk into the town centre or there are lots of public transport! Considering it is on a main road not one car could be heard. Pure peaceful quiet bliss!

• debbied393 (10/5): A lovely little Gem of a hotel. - We have just got back from 2 nights stay at this charming little hotel. The staff are warm and welcoming, the breakfasts are cooked to order and were the best we've ever had anywhere. Although the house is Victorian it holds a lot of its original charm, high ceilings, crisp linens on the tables for breakfast and a reasonably priced bar. The rooms were extremely comfy, and spotlessly clean. I cannot fault anything about our stay, would definitely stay again in the future.

• Maria (9/5): Fabulous room very clean and tidy with great views from the window good location and great service - Unfortunately we didn’t have breakfast as we had a very big meal out the night before and we’re leaving early to see the sights before going home the location was good not too far from the main attractions and town center but could be a difficult walk back up the hill for anyone with walking problems The weather rained a lot!!🤔when we arrived we had a bit of an issue gaining entrance to the property but eventually were let in by a staff member

It was an old building so a little dated in some areas but could be considered part of its charm! Found the room very warm and couldn't seem to adjust the heating. The bathroom was more like a sauna!
• louiseholmes69 (10/5): Superb two night break - We had a fantastic two night break at Oldfields. We stayed here about 12 years ago and enjoyed it then too. Staff were efficient and friendly and the cooked to order breakfast was excellent. We had a four poster room which was nicely decorated and very clean. This is an older property and decorations and fittings matched that in terms of being traditional. Car parking was easy and the walk into Bath, downhill, was about 10 mins. We took the bus back which was straightforward if a little expensive. We felt we had exceptionally good value for money and would stay again.

• 844helenp (8/5): Comfortable and quirky guest house - Warm, friendly and quirky, this is really a guest house rather than a hotel. It must originally have been 2 large semi detached town houses and it retains a lot of their feel and decor. The staff were exceptionally friendly and it was lovely to have a drink in the bar in the evening. Breakfast was very good - my tip would be to go for the Continental one which included loads of fresh fruit as well as cereal, pastries and toast, and was a bargain at £8. Lovely garden. It’s slightly tired in places and there is no lift, but I think that’s all reasonable for the price. I was in a single room in the roof, which was comfortable and had some nice touches, including a proper makeup mirror. BUT, despite what you see in the picture on the website, there was no door to the bathroom, which was slightly weird and I am not sure whether it’s even legal! Also the windows didn’t open properly.

• Y9592LMstevew (10/5): The best breakfast experience you will ever have! - So I’ll get the bad out of the way first (and these are minor and maybe only applicable to us) The parking: there isn’t much of it, they apparently have permits for more on the road. Luckily I thought ahead and bought a much smaller car with us but if you have a large car you would really struggle to get it in a space. The rooms: We initially started out in room 7 which was a four poster room. It was lovely, very clean, bathroom could have done with an update but it was quintessentially British (exactly the reason we chose this hotel). Everything was going great until the morning where from 7am onwards it was very noisy and I believe we were next to the kitchen. As we weren’t in for breakfast until 9 (we can away without the kids so was hoping to get a good nights sleep) it was almost impossible to get back to sleep. This is no one’s fault and thy have to put the kitchen somewhere. Perfect if you’re an early riser but yeah for us the lack of sleep wasn’t ideal. Worth saying though you could hear a pin drop after 10.30pm it’s so quiet. Now for the good stuff: We switched rooms to a less noisier location on the first floor, my partner preferred this room but not gonna lie the four poster room was aesthetically nicer. We slept much better in here, bed was very comfy although no TV remote so had to change channels manually (although we didn’t watch much of it). You can tell there is a general mission statement from the top down to keep standards high…because they are. Everything feels very clean. Crisp white linen, soft towels. Mints on the towels, tea making facilities were great. Like I said everything is quintessentially British and they have managed to keep that theme perfectly. They have a little lounge/bar area which is just lovely. Breakfast: Amazing, the standard is one of the best I’ve seen. Everything seemed super fresh, very well presented and they have options to suit all types. Breakfast was included with our booking. I would recommend adding breakfast to your booking as it is honestly one of the best experiences you will have. The staff: So polite, accommodating and everything in between. The girls (and guy) who served breakfast in the morning were as good as any five star hotel I have been. Be aware English is not their first language so take the time to explain your options. Like I said earlier it seems like there is some sort of standard they adhere to and thier attitude and attention to detail is impeccable. PLEASE TIP THE STAFF!! Not just for monetary reasons, it lets them know they are doing a good job and therefore it will stay at this high level. Overall, a lovely 2 night stay in a very nice part of the world. Keep it up you’re making peoples experience of Bath so much better!!
• nicolag601 (10/5): Beautiful room and a beautiful breakfast too! - Found easily after walk from train station. We were warmly greeted and was allowed to check in early into room 16. Beautiful four poster bed and a large room was lovely decor looking out onto the garden. We had amazing breakfast both mornings. Hubby had eggs benedict, I had eggs royale. Both were amazing. Next morning we both had full English. Again, fab great quality food. We had a great stay and will definitely visit again.

• Carole75 (6/5): Fine for one night - On an overnight trip to Bath we opted for Oldfield's for old times sake as I used to stay here as a solo traveller over 30 years ago! Sadly it is rather more rundown than it was in those days and could do with some basic maintenance in the rooms. We opted for a Deluxe Room which was ok, but more cramped than the photo suggests. It was also very noisy despite double and further secondary glazing. No wonder they provide earplugs! I had their 'famous' scrambled eggs and smoked salmon but was somewhat disappointed by the scrambled eggs. However, the Greek yoghurt and selection of fresh fruit was very good. Oldfields is very well located, a short walk (about 7 minutes) out of the city centre and also has (chargeable) parking on site which is a bonus. The staff were pleasant and it was fine overall for a one night stay.

• 186chrisj (10/5): Delightful hotel. - We had a gorgeous , very Victorian 4 poster bed room. Beautiful lounge and bar area, as well as the restaurant where the first class breakfast is served. Staff very attentive . Thoroughly enjoyed our two nights here.

• TravelUpsAndDowns (10/5): Superb stay, place run by a great team. - Perfect location, an easy 15 mins stroll to the centre of Bath (not that you'd want to drive in Bath anyway). We had a warm welcome from Casey, who ensured we were comfortably settled in before she left us to unpack. The ambience was lovely. Our room had a view of Bath. There is everything you need in the room, bath robes, slippers, and all the nice touches including a personalised welcome note that makes the stay such a great experience. All the staff, front of house, and catering, were just super lovely, they obviously love their jobs! We had a minor housekeeping issue, which was resolved smoothly and efficiently by Bianca, and Alexandra. Everything exceeded our expectations, we felt as though we were saying in a stately home - without all the stuffiness of one. I would love to go back there if I had the chance to return to Bath.

• Bandy (9/5): It was our second stay so very good. - Spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Very friendly staff. Plenty of hot water. My only complaint is that the room was cold in the evening. Could have made good use of two comfortable chairs in the room.

• View-from-192 (4/5): Bedsheets dirty and they don't care - We stayed in this B&B for a single night to give this place a try on one of our regular visits to Bath. The parking was attractive to us and it is a bit cheaper than the hotels in town but the old saying "you get what you pay for" rang true. Parking was £10 per night but all of the available spaces on site were too small for our car so we parked on the road using a permit that was provided at check in (which was fine). The accommodation is located outside of the town centre and up a hill (the outskirts of Bath are hilly). It takes about 20 minutes to get to the centre which requires an uber if the weather is poor or after dark. The rooms are OK but they feel a bit outdated and there were dirty marks on the carpet in our room and some specks of mould in the bathroom. The bedsheets had curly hairs from previous guests or maybe at best from cleaning team. Reception is open until around 10pm and then the doors are locked and there is a number to call a night manager after dark if there are issues. We found breakfast to be priced a bit cheekily at £17.95 a head - a number a 5 star hotel would charge rather than a B&B. We will stick to our previous strategy of paying a bit more for a proper hotel in town (for the room and for parking) from now on because once you start to add the price of ubers and the breakfast onto Oldfields it's pretty comparable but to be in a nicer room in the thick of the atmosphere of Bath is well worth a small jump in price.

• Christopher (9/5): Style and value. - A lovely traditional hotel set in its own grounds just a short drive from the city centre. Lots of added touches like chocolates and a personal note to me in the room. Sadly I had a meeting on the other side of town so couldn’t partake of the breakfast, and due to the shortness of my stay and the inclement weather I wasn’t able to explore the grounds or the bar area. I did however walk up the hill outside the hotel to an area known as Bear Flat containing a small number of artisan shops and a welcoming pub. The staff were very friendly and helpful when the TV remote control malfunctioned. My room was on the side facing the road so there was some traffic noise with the window open but it didn’t disturb me.

• fluffypolite (6/5): Average B&B but parking is an advantage - This place is very much classic B&B rather than hotel. Situated around a 15 minute walk outside the centre and up a small hill it is handy if you want to park your car (although only so many spaces on site so it's likely you'll end up with a permit to park on the road). I found it a bit tired and old fashioned if I'm honest and would probably stay elsewhere in future. The smokers hanging about the front door felt a bit grubby and the fact that there isn't anyone on reception - but a night manager who sleeps on site that can be roused if need be just added to the boarding house atmosphere. I didn't pay for the £17.95 breakfast as I always find it difficult to justify that sort of money for egg on toast and a cup of tea. I wouldn't stay here again.

• Priyesh (5/5): Good but could’ve been better - Room was good I didn’t like the parking situation which unsettled me early in my trip. It’s an awkward and tight car park and in one of the corners I was asked to park there was a lot of wet mud which I don’t want all over my wheel/car. It took me a long time to get my car into the 1 available slot given how tightly the staff parks their car in the small car slot. On that basis I wouldn’t return especially because I can’t then go in and out of the car park comfortably multiple times in the day if need be which again hugely hampered my trip as I re arranged plans to make it walkable things only. Anyways I appreciate being given a different place nearer the door to park but being up tight against the wall is not ideal either. Not something the hotel can change I guess but not what I wanted on my trip. Breakfast was ok but I didn’t feel regularly served and asked beyond 1 time for my main meal. Room was good. At the end I wanted to speak to a member of staff and also use the restroom at 1.30pm upon collecting my car after checkout but nobody opened the door despite me waiting a while - again not ideal.
