- R6467FQlisab (4/5): Worn down. Unsafe. Rude. - Dirty. Definitely not a 4 or 5 star hotel. And what in the world is with the pool and this death trap of a light… The carpet is unbelievably out dated and worn. It’s just gross. Maybe take up the carpet and put down laminate. From “valet” to the desk there are about 20 steps from the outside to the desk that you have to go up with your luggage. No ramps or elevators to help. Not handicap accessible, forget it, don’t even try this hotel. Icing on the cake, staff was rude.

For starters the pool and bar are on completely separate floors and pool bar not opened at all till night. In addition to that the decor at the bar and the pool area are completely different than what is shown from online.
The room, the carpets are stained with ‘white stuff’ and we complained to change to a different room and this room has ‘brown stains’. The hallways are dirty looking, the headboard is chipped. Overall a dirty hotel. We are only staying one night-Thank God but it is a dirty looking establishment. Needs cleaning and new carpets.
If you are looking for the HILTON quality, this is not it.

The beds are comfortable It’s awfully overpriced for the services it provides. The breakfast is extremely mediocre, the bar is lacking any choice or elegance. The balcony is surrounded by solid concrete walls with no view, which means there is no reason to even be on the balcony.

When I arrived I met Rudy who welcomed me and took his time with my check-in, filling me in on all this beautiful property had to offer!!!! Rudy I can't say thank you enough for such an outstanding experience!!! I too myself am an Hilton employee so this comes straight from the heart!! I love love love customer service and must say oftentimes my experience is very lackluster but not at Gale South Beach!!! I can't wait to come back this time for pleasure!!! A special thank you to Priscila and Ignacio, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail really stood out and made us feel genuinely welcomed.
The Italian restaurant on-site is top notch all the way—easily one of the highlights of our trip. Every meal was outstanding.
What impressed us most, though, was the consistency of service across the entire hotel. From housekeeping to the front desk to the bell staff, everyone was incredibly kind and hardworking. The bellmen in particular went out of their way to help us with bikes, bags, and even extra water bottles—small touches that made a big difference. You can tell the team truly cares. We were happy to tip them well—they absolutely earned it.
We can’t say enough good things about this place. We’ll definitely be back on our next trip to Miami!
- 114aimeef (2/5): Loud base music till early hours! - Avoid unless you’re prepared for extremely loud music until the early hours (Wednesday–Sunday)!
We arrived around 3pm on Friday after a long drive down from Orlando, having booked this hotel through Virgin to end our Florida trip. We were pleased to find our room ready on arrival, and first impressions were positive, the hotel is in a great location.
However, there were a couple of immediate concerns. The bathroom layout was unexpected, with the shower open to the room. As a family of four with two teenagers, this lack of privacy felt very inappropriate for a “family room.”
We went out for food and found a lovely Italian bakery/restaurant nearby, and at that point we thought we were in for a great final few nights before flying back to the UK.
Unfortunately, everything changed at 10pm.
Extremely loud, heavy, thudding music started and did not stop. We then discovered there is a nightclub directly beneath the hotel, and our “family room” is located right above it. The noise is not just noticeable it is overwhelming, with bass vibrations that make it impossible to relax, let alone sleep.
I went to reception to ask about moving rooms, but nothing was available. We were offered ear plugs, which are not a solution for us, both of our children are neurodivergent with sensory sensitivities, and cannot tolerate ear plugs or loud, persistent noise.
I am writing this at 12:15am, knowing the music is expected to continue until at least 3am. We are all exhausted but completely unable to sleep due to the volume and constant bass.
This is not a suitable hotel for families, or for anyone expecting a restful stay. It may be fine if you are here to party and plan to be awake until the early hours, but if you value sleep, avoid at all cost!

All the front desk staff were friendly, professional, quick, informative and very helpful. Special kudos to Frank, Priscila, Michelle and Gonzalo.
Housekeeping was prompt and efficient.
The restaurant and room service was great.

The hotel is clean and very well done, my bed was so comfortable I’m truly sad to be leaving but will definitely be returning. The location is also great, and the beach access at the Sagamore was truly the cherry on top.

Now the shower is backed up with black gunk. Booked a standard king, getting downgraded to a Queen. As a diamond member, this is worst experience I've had at a hilton property. Will not stay here again.

- 437sammieh (6/5): Quick trip - Check in was probably the worst part. We got there early before 4pm and didn't mind waiting we just went to the rooftop. It was about 5:30 before we got into our room so between 4-5:30 I called twice because the app wasn't working and I had no way knowing. I could tell the front desk guy was getting annoyed with me because he started talking over me, getting louder, being aggressive, and just giving me one word answers. He clearly wasn't going to call the hospitality people to try to figure out when our room was ready and was not in the business of being helpful so I gave up after that until I finally got a text saying our room was ready. Our room was nice overall and surprisingly quiet for being on right next to the main road. Only thing odd is the bed was super low, like almost on the ground low. Not that comfy either. I told them at check in too that it was our anniversary and they said they would send a bottle of wine up, never received that. So that's also not cool. Other things that were kind of frustrating- rooftop pool has no service. No one was up there to serve you drinks and there is hardly any coverage from the sun so you will end up sunburnt. There were menus at the pool to order food from the Italian restaurant downstairs but we found out they aren't open for lunch so that was pointless. We had breakfast one day and our server was also quite rude too. Overall service was just not great and people working there were rude. Minus 2 guys at checkout- Frank and Gret were nice enough. Otherwise though not a fan of this place and probably won't be back. Hotel itself was nice and clean. They partner with the Sagamore hotel that was really nice and overall should have just stayed there. Beach/pool service was amazing.

The only downside I had was that the room was very compact and lacked storage space and in my opinion could do with a little TLC as was tired, room was okay though for the two nights we required it but wouldn't stay for longer. I would recommend though for a couple of nights.

The room was not ready on time, there were no towels available at the pool (even in the morning when the pool opened), one of the lights in the pool has fallen off the wall and is dangling by the electrical wire and most annoying, there is no door separating the shower from the rest of the room!

Asked them to turn it don’t and they said they would and then it got louder. If you like to party all night this is the hotel for you. Otherwise you are warned. Don’t stay.
- T8875XUpierrea (6/5): Not as good as before. No heated pool. - We spent 8 nights at the Gale. It was not as good as before (we have been coming for the past 5 years). On the plus side: location. On the minus side: a) rooftop pool no longer heated (unlike prior years) so you won’t be able to enjoy it as it is freezing cold, b) from service is OK but uneven (no bottles of water sometimes, no coffee capsules refills some days, etc), c) management is somewhat deficient (they said they will take care of the pool though they did not; elevator out of service for a full week, etc). So next year we will not return and look for another hotel. No heated pool is a big minus.
- somosparchis (10/5): CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE SO CLOSE TO THE BEACH - The Gale South Beach is a clean, stylish Art Deco hotel with smaller but spotless rooms. The hotel is historic and charming. For me, I felt the vibe is bustling but also very quiet upstairs, making it easy to relax. I didn't hear any noise from my room, and I have no idea what people are talking about with a speakeasy bar. Dolce is a fancy restaurant and seemed to have a low key bar inside.
The rooftop pool is clean and well kept, and the on-site restaurant, Dolce, is fun and convenient. The staff there is exceptional!
When we were there the rooftop pool bar was not open but that was not a deal breaker for us. It was so peaceful up there! Beach access is simple, with entry to the beach club just across the street through the Sagamore Hotel. 2 free chairs per room and towels provided. There was a bar at that pool at Sagamore and you could order food or drinks! The beach is right across the street and I walked there every morning after I grabbed coffee to go at Rosetta Bakery.
A great option for a comfortable, low-key stay in South Beach. Also, easy to walk to Lincoln Road restaurants, Espanola Way and Ocean Drive is a quick walk down the street.
Very attentive and kind staff. Will return if back in South Beach.

The hotel staff was outstanding and extremely helpful. The room was clean albeit a bit small however this was expected as it is a boutique hotel. We spent several days at the sister pool (Sagamore). The pool was warm, clean, and fantastic. Definitely have a few drinks at the Sagamore pool bar as the staff will treat you very well. The rooftop pool at the Gale has spectacular views as well. We ate at Dolce (restaurant at Gale) several times. Excellent food. Can get pricy but it is worth it. Finally, the location is perfect. Thank you to everyone at the Gale for making our holiday stay very special.

- 648ikep (2/5): Avoid if cleanliness and guest safety matter to you. - I stayed at the Gale Hotel South Beach for two nights in room 413 and left with serious concerns.
After the first night, I woke up with multiple insect bites concentrated on the left side of my body. By the second morning, I had 20–30 bites, all of which appeared only after sleeping in the hotel bed. I had no bites prior to my stay, and no new bites appeared after I left. While I cannot confirm the exact insect, the timing and circumstances strongly indicate the source was the bed. Photos are attached for reference.
The room itself showed clear signs of neglect. Upon check-in, there was a slight mildew odor and unexplained stains on the curtains, which immediately raised concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. Unfortunately, I was already late to a scheduled meeting shortly after checking in and was unable to request a room change at the time. Given my schedule over the next two days, addressing the issue in real time wasn’t feasible.
I attempted to resolve this responsibly by contacting the hotel directly before posting publicly. I reached out via email to the General Manager, James D’Agostino, twice, and received no response.
If you care about room cleanliness, basic hygiene, or responsive management, I strongly recommend staying elsewhere. This experience raised serious health and safety concerns and was handled poorly from start to finish.
- philcouk (4/5): Room under a Speak Easy - No Sleep - We were saying December 2025, our room was above a Speaker Easy Bar, we had constant noise until 3:30 am, if you do not want to sleep at night, chose this Hotel.
If you want to sleep at night, I would not recommend this Hotel.
The Hotel was clean, service good, just got no sleep.

Gret welcomed us at the lobby and gave us a brief introduction of the black and white photo gallery that is displayed throughout the hotel. Beautiful family pictures and scenery of South Beach. Our room was comfortable with a corner window. All the amenities worked well. The room and bathroom were in very good condition.

- ShelbyLyn62 (6/5): Don’t Stay Here! - This hotel is under major renovation. The staff tries very hard to make light of it and be helpful but for the price this is a bad deal. The rooms are very small which is not unusual in this era of hotel. Very little in the way of decor or charm unless you consider the filthy windows with trash piled up outside a good view. The pool area photographs well but you will broil in the Miami heat on that deck. The restaurant is closed and they serve a very limited breakfast menu in the side bar; only coffee (no tea) and 3 entrees. I feel they should have offered a complimentary Continental for the inconvenience that wasn’t disclosed at booking. Yes, there’s a nightclub in the basement with a DJ driving music until 2AM; 4AM on Friday and Saturday nights. The accessible entrance is thru a basement door so when you return late at night you go to the basement door, ring the front desk and wait (&wait) for a bellman to come down and let you in. This entrance is right next to the nightclub. This is one of the worst hotel bookings I’ve ever had from a Hilton Curio Collection hotel.

There was chipped paint and dirt on the carpet that wasn't vacuumed. The shower was disgusting and then I went to use the bathroom and closed the pocket door and the wood was all damaged and there was mold all over it. We left immediately. Everything.;
- ShagunVarma (4/5): Decent property, not a Curio experience - I have been a Hilton Diamond member for over 10 yrs and this definitely does not fit the Curio property tag.
1) Room is poorly designed - does not even have a table/chair. A first in any Curio property I have stayed in
2) Gym has probably never been vacuumed. The water dispenser does not work and the Peloton is broken
3) The pool claims to be temperature controlled, but it is not
4) Breakfast is complicated. Three different menus depending on method of payment. Usually, the stay credit is applied, irrespective of menu
5) Beach access works well through their sister property. The pool in there is actually temperature controlled
- Evanken (4/5): A crowded MESS! - Location is great but this hotel is a MESS!! Nothing looked like the images in the photos. Lobby bar was vacant and nothing but a constant beeping on main level. There was No service at pool and I have no idea where some of the beautiful places shown on website were. We saw none of them despite continued questions.
Their site says we can use beach at another hotel but it lists the wrong name and wrong location. Very little English spoken. Our rooms were VERY TIGHT! Shades were lopsided, drawers didn’t close, beds were so close to fridge you couldn’t even open the door.
Shower is strange and it’s easy to spill water onto the floor.
We were quite disappointed! I would not stay again nor would I recommend.
We should have been notified about the “construction?” It didn’t look like anything was being updated just shoved in corners and a large discombobulated MESS. Watched the history video and you would never even know this was the same hotel. Get it together!!!
- ToTheEdgeOfTheWorld (6/5): Avoid Until Renovations Are Complete - This review reflects the current conditions at the hotel. Restaurant-closed for renovations. Rooftop bar-closed. Back lobby bar-closed. Main entrance-closed. This might be a wonderful hotel in six months, but it should not be open right now. I’m a Hilton diamond member, and stayed here because of the Hilton affiliation. Hilton should not allow one of its branded hotels to operate in this condition. Renovation crews were everywhere. Our room door was even painted…during our stay! We had to use the back entrance to the hotel, and its alarm was chirping the entire stay. Construction dust everywhere.
On the bright side, the staff was very friendly and were on par with Hilton expectations. Otherwise, this hotel should not be open.
- michaelmF7225BP (6/5): Gale south beach Miami - We stay at this hotel in November 2025 on a Thursday and Friday. The hotel was very good. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Good service and a good location. The one issue was that on the Thursday and Friday night the night club was open and playing loud music till 4am so on both nights me and my wife only got 2 hours sleep. The night club was at the back of the hotel which was ok you stay at the front of the hotel on Collins avenue. If you stay towards the back or side on 17st you’re not going not much sleep.

The guys who helped with our luggage, Ignacio and Frank, were also super friendly and made us feel welcome. We will stay here again on our next visit to South beach.

From the moment I arrived, they went above and beyond to make every guest feel welcomed and taken care of. I watched them handle each interaction with such genuine warmth, professionalism, and a can-do attitude — always with a smile. Their energy created such a positive atmosphere that I actually extended my stay another night because they made me feel completely at home.
It’s rare to come across team members who embody the spirit of exceptional service the way Gret and Ignacio do. They’re an absolute credit to the Gale Hotel, and I’m already looking forward to returning on my next trip to Miami — especially knowing I’ll be greeted by them again.

I would say the only ‘surprise’ was the shower (with a glass door) was not in a room with a door. We made it work, but it was something we had to adjust to when getting ready. 😆 I am not sure if all the rooms are set up this way or not. Frank our bellhop was very attentive and very friendly . Everyone from the front desk to the valet to the waiter at the restaurant deserve a shout out. Great job to all.

We had question about the valet parking ,he had the car ready, we needed extra towels, what time the restaurant open ,what time the bar open ,even had a problem with the air condition we didn't know how to turn it off he sent someone right away ! this is an outstanding employee that needs to be recognized for how well he makes the guess experience a pleasure!! We came with six people and after the weekend four went home and my brother and I decided to stay in Miami before heading back to NYC and it was just a pleasure from the beginning they make everyone feel very comfortable from the restaurant to the nightclub downstairs all of the workers Guillermo, Ramona Ignacio, Frank even Erica the cleaning woman from Honduras, was outstanding the room was spotless everyday! The rooftop pool is wonderful the restaurant Dolce very friendly waiters the nightclub downstairs lots of fun all of the staff security Bellman Doorman are just wonderful and you will not be disappointed! The only thing I would like the hotel to do is update some of the photographs, to represent the clientele of 2025. I am aware these are family pictures but you must represent even from the old days a diversity everyone wants to be represented when you're spending this much money .but other than that outstanding we will return please recognize all of these wonderful employees they work hard and they deserve recognition best regards the Twins!

Pros:
The room was clean, cozy, and quiet.
The hotel is in a great location right next to beach and close to lots of great food.
The pool, veranda, and shower were great the pool was genuine tilled, not some cheap plastic pool liner.
Cons:
The bathroom has no privacy, there’s no wall and the shower divider is floor to ceiling see through glass. And there no lock on the sliding door for the toilets. So have consideration for who you’re sharing a room with. Also the rooms only had a single small trash can which in my opinion is inadequate. And the elevator is like a sauna.

The hotel is beautiful, with a Miami twist on old Italian charm, and in a great location for walking South Beach. The roof top pool and lounge area was positively magical at night. The staff is delightful, very personable and with great attention to detail. Frank especially went out of his way to make our experience both seamless and enjoyable, even giving us some tips and advice on the best ways to get around. We felt very cared for and looked after. Absolutely would highly recommend to anyone, ten out of ten.

But I've never stayed at one before where they refused to clean your room. After begging all day for someone to come clean it I came back and they hadn't even made the bed. On top of that the restaurant is closed for renovations. There are basically no facilities so your daily allowance for food and beverage is completely worthless. I've never had a worst hotel experience strongly, recommend avoiding this place.

Valet parking is $40+ a day and it takes 30 minutes before car is pulled around, so be sure to call for car well in advance of departing.

- meganhG5717JB (2/5): Moldy, poorly maintained property - Not on any level of Hilton property standards at all. This hotel physically left me ill due to mold exposure. We had some mold along the ceiling and corner in our first room. We requested to be relocated which they did do for us, however, I felt like the gentleman at the front desk considered me a nuisance. When we finally moved our stuff from one room to the other I was appalled by our hallway and new room. There was physical leaking of water under the door to the pool area- stopped up by globs of towels at the door. The hallway had water dripping from an access panel in the ceiling with visible mold all over it. All of the doorframes in the hallway had so much mold I could physically wipe it from the door frames. I have stayed at a hut in the rainforest with no electricity and no running water and I’d stay there a million times over before returning to this unhealthy hotel. Don’t expect the hotel to communicate with you because they just won’t respond. Hilton corporate says it’s a sensitive matter and needs to be handled by the hotel…..
save the trouble and stay anywhere else.

- Celeste (2/5): - My son was riding one of there bikes and it was taken from him by a homeless man. After I spoke with SJ the manager I was made to pay $1,000 for the bike. They wouldn't let me leave the hotel to make a police report was told that if i do a police report it makes it hard for there guest to ride there bikes because they dont have no way of knowing what bikes are stolen and that its Miami it happens all the time. Was also told that I had to pay $1,000 for the bike because they can't just buy 1 bike you have to cover the cost for the full order from where they order the bikes from which gives them 2 bikes. They also gave my family who was not staying at the hotel a key to my room without verification or my permission sooooooo unsafe. They dont have ice machines and the water they give you is always hot. Night time crew is rude. After sitting outside at the tables all day when the night shift came in they told us we had to move and couldn't sit there. Yeah worst vacation ever there and this was not my first time to Miami so no I didn't understand when she said this Miami it happens all the time.

- mariemZ5133KY (10/5): Lovely stay - We stayed for 2 nights, we booked 1 double and 1 twin room. Both rooms were clean and comfortable. The reception team were incredibly friendly and helpful. Only issue we had was that the blind wouldn't open in the bedroom and toilet door wouldn't shut properly in the double room, but to be honest didn't cause us any problems. The hotel was very quiet at night and we all slept well. We would definitely return.
- BushidoFett (6/5): Cool vibe but Dolce Vita is no bueno. - Actually at the Gale as I write this. Came here for the weekend to meet my wife who is traveling to SoBe for work. Hotel has a great vibe to it. The hotel staff is very friendly, accommodating, and responsive. Rooms are a bit spartan, no chair, limited closet space, and a weird fridge. Club downstairs is a great place and unique. The adjoining restaurant is meh with terrible wait staff and so so food but the manager makes it work an is on it. Sat on the front patio w a glass of wine waiting for my wife to fly in but was asked to move as the restaurant doesn't want people out there after closing. Just wanted to sit and watch people in the streets doing the downpour until she arrived so that was disappointing. Overall, I would come back but not for the restaurant.

- world_traveler_guy1 (2/5): not up to hilton curico standards - This hotel is far below the standards expected of the Curio Collection. From the moment I arrived, the experience was disappointing. The front desk agent was unprofessional and bluntly informed me that the hotel does not participate in digital check-in—something that should have been communicated in advance.
The first room I was given had multiple issues: the blinds were damaged to the point where I couldn’t even see out the window, and the lights above the bed did not function properly. After reporting the problems, I was moved to another room, but it was no better. The door would not close properly unless I physically pulled it shut, the bathroom was dirty and unkempt, and the shower head sprayed water all over the place. The blinds in this second room were also broken, the headboard was filthy (as shown in the picture I took), and the alarm clock was an embarrassment—outdated and poorly maintained.
To make matters worse, the manager, Rudy, is completely nonexistent and clearly does not care about resolving these issues. How could a room with these problems possibly pass inspection? Despite informing the front desk, there was no sense of urgency or accountability from anyone on the team.
For a hotel in the Curio Collection, this level of service and lack of quality control is completely unacceptable. I expected a higher standard of cleanliness, professionalism, and attention to detail but instead encountered a poorly managed property that fails to meet even basic expectations. I would not recommend staying here until significant improvements are made.

- Katya0406 (10/5): Wonderful Stay - I recently stayed at Gale South Beach hotel with my sister for three nights. It was amazing experience from the moment we checked until our departure! We arrived late tired from travels and Gret at the front desk was super welcoming, gave us a beautiful room with terrace and explained everything about the hotel and south beach. Room was cleaned daily, AC was working perfect and saved us from the heat outside, beds were very comfortable! We ate at the restaurant Dolce couple times and food was delicious. We asked for a late check out and Gret graciously granted us a little extra time to get ready. We spent the rest of the day exploring Miami and when we came back to the hotel to get our luggage and go to the airport bellman informed us that we forgot a flat iron in the room! It was so nice to get it before we left Miami, my sister and I are very thankful for room attendant and bellman who let us know about it before we left! Thank you Gret and the rest of the team at Gale South Beach hotel for your hospitality!
