• Alexey (8/5): - Маленький тихий отель , завтраки вкусные на берегу моря , номера норм Приезжали только спать , купаться в Море у отеля не советую , мелко и модно напороться на морского ежа , видели их даже на огороженной зоне . Берите скутер и перемещаетесь на другие пляжи

• kristinao369 (10/5): Great relaxing hotel - Lovely hotel. Big enough for a family to have a relaxing holiday but 5 mins from the main pier and 10 min by taxi to the Sai kaew beach. The food in the restaurant is very tasty. Lovely Thai flavour but also European meals as well. Breakfast had a good choice with a relaxing beach view. Stayed before in the chain Sai Kaew hotel which is also very nice but also more busy. There’s a nice coffee shop right across the road with air con. Staff was very friendly and always ready to help. Thank you very much. The pier was just one minute walk which made it very convenient for the transfer but also didn’t really bother us when we were enjoying the swim. The only thing would recommend bringing beach shoes as there’s some broken shells that can be sharp.

• Marine (8/5): Very good value in a quiet and convenient location - The overall services, the efficient and very nice staff. The place has a laid back atmosphere but with all the services you need. The restaurant has a very nice buffet for breakfast and is open non-stop from lunch time on. The pastries at the cafe across the street are delicious. The property is very well maintained and managed. Both lady managers at the front desk and the restaurant were extremely nice and helpful. Always on top of things. The hotel has its own boat and office at the pier with WiFi, toilets, a bar and a boutique with wonderful items. We didn’t have any information , no communication about how to get to the hotel. We wish we had known about the office at the pier and the hotel’s boat. We had to bargain hard with the local agencies to get a ticket on a boat to get there. We were asked 3000 bth for a single ride on a speed boat. The location is convenient and more quiet a 10 minutes walk from the pier and a short taxi ride from all the restaurants and shops. It feels safe at all times. But the beach in front of the premises is rather small and not the prettiest, the water is clear but not great may be because the hotel is facing the coast and there are quite a few boats and ferries around. It’s nice but not a dream . Sand flies were a nightmare past 4:00 pm, although not everyone seemed to suffer from them as much as we did. Apparently they prefer european blood 😩 That being said if you want quiet, good location at the same time, it’s perfect.
• Constantin (8/5): Perfect location for af few days in Ko Samed - Great location, 10min on foot from the town, or 2 min by car. Smaller beach so less frequented. Rooms are well designed and great to stay in. Staff was very kind and made sure we were looked after Prices in the restaurant are a bit prohibitive, especially when the town is so close.

• Alain D88 (5/5): Avis global très mitigé... - Difficile d'afficher une note globalement positive pour cet hôtel qui se situe dans la moyenne haute des prix sur l'île de Koh Samet... car il y a du bon, mais aussi du bcp moins heureux. Côté positif, la situation dans la zone est de l'île moins fréquentée par les hordes de touristes et disposant d'une plage de sable propre, calme et peu fréquentée. C'est aussi dans une zone relativement épargnée par la pollution car Koh Samet est devenue une poubelle à ciel ouvert (décharges sauvages, égouts qui puent, déchets multiples sur les plages... heureusement qu'il s'git d'un parc national !) En sus une piscine est disponible, en plein soleil et sous les chambres côté mer... Le restaurant sert un petit déjeuner tout à fait correct avec un choix de plats chauds et les attributs habituels d'une collation matinale. A noter toutefois que les tables enfoncées dans le sol nécessitent des acrobaties pour s'y installer comme pour en sortir... Typique, original ? certes mais inconfortables. Le restaurant est relativement cher pour une qualité correcte mais au final pas très différente de celle servie au village s'agissant des plats thaï. Les chambres sont d'un aspect sympathique au premier abord (nous étions en "zone jungle"... avec le passage d'un lézard géant et d'un calao en haut d'un poteau tél.). Coffre, wifi, balcon sans intérêt, bouilloire, salle de bain avec wc non séparé, tv internet, clim... tout ceci parait propre et serein, sauf que ... sauf que 1) l'insonorisation est nulle et donc si vous avez des voisins indélicats (comme les nôtres ch.305 du 4 au 9/3) vous ne pourrez pas dormir avant qu'ils ne s'assagissent (des gloussements aux cris divers en passant par des sauts sur les lits etc... tout y passe) ; 2) les puces qui vous ravageront en plus des moustiques ... ca a beau être la jungle, pour le prix payé on espèrerait un peu plus de DDT pour exterminer toute cette vermine... Dernier point très négatif, un règlement anticipé (non remboursable) de 60 jours (rien que ça..) pour qui, pour quoi ?? Ont ils entendu parlé des derniers évènements du monde ?

Pyörät ilmaiseksi käytössä. Mopojen ääni kuului huoneeseen. Hotellin lähellä tie. Eivät voineet tehdä bananasplittiä vaihtoehtona friteerettuille banaaneille, niin että olisi ollut gluteenitonta. Enemmän joustavuutta ruuan tekemiseen.Rannalla piti olla tossut merisiilien vuoksi- voisivat respassa myydä tossuja. Tai infota hyvissä ajoin etukäteen. Kävimme kylästä ostamassa.
• Alexandra (8/5): Bon spot et bel hôtel. - La piscine et l’emplacement sur la plage sont super. L’hôtel est très beau, propre et design. Le restaurant est de qualité (excellent petit-déjeuner). La climatisation est très très bruyante. Le bruits de la faune très présent dans les chambres « jungle ». Chaque soir des geckos s’introduisaient et émettaient des cris qui empêchent de dormir.

• Nicole (9/5): Wonderful resort with a beautiful beach, pool, rooms and restaurants. - Beach, rooms, restaurant and location, plus the coffee shop is amazing. Communication with staff was good but some restaurant staff didn’t understand English and the front desk gave us the wrong information about a tour. We were told it was a small 15 ppl max boat which is why we booked however the boat had 40+ppl onboard.
• jeany (9/5): - Très bon emplacement, personnel très serviable souriant et qui fait son maximum pour être à votre service. Seul point noir la mer et ses oursins trop nombreux. La baignade dangereuse en raison des oursins qui envahissent toutes les plages de l île.
• Nadine (9/5): Un petit hôtel sympa pour séjourner à Kho Samet - Très bien situé. On peut aller au centre à pied ou en taxi pour 200 baths en 5 minutes. Belle terasse pour prendre les repas et petits déjeuners face à la mer. Chambre très propre et spacieuse Proche du bateau pour faire journée en mer. Possibilité de prendre la douche de la piscine quand on sort de la mer. Comme dans tous les hôtels. Les murs sont fins. Donc si les voisins sont bruyants …. Les fonds marin pour le snorkeling sont uniquement sableux mais il est facile de prendre un taxi et d’aller sur une autre plage.
• Tomasz (10/5): - Pobyt w tym hotelu to wspaniałe przeżycie, począwszy od przemiłej obsługi, położenia, czystości jak i serwowanych śniadań. Położony jest w spokojnej części wyspy, otoczony piękną roślinnością, a do promu, jak i centrum jest 10 minut spacerem. Hotel składa się z dwóch części, jedna z recepcją, restauracją oraz ładnym basenem zlokalizowanym praktycznie na plaży. W drugiej części hotelu mieści się wspaniała kawiarnia, w której serwowana jest kawa oraz przepyszne ciasta, a pokoje są położone w tzw. dżungli. Na uwagę i pochwałę zasługują przestronne, czyste, dobrze wyposażone pokoje z wygodnymi łóżkami. Jednym słowem, jest to hotel godny polecenia, do którego jeżeli jest taka okazja bardzo chętnie się wraca.

• MICHAIL (10/5): Η τέλεια διαμονή θαλασσινός παράδεισος - Τα δωμάτια στην πάνω πτέρυγα μέσα στο δάσος είναι μοναδικά.Το πρωί ξυπνάς με τα πουλιά και το βράδυ κοιμάσαι κάτω από τα αστέρια. Η ησυχία είναι μοναδική, θυμίζει κατασκήνωση στο βουνό μακρυά από την πόλη! Η παραλία και η θάλασσα είναι πεντακάθαρες, στο μικρό καφέ θα πιεις επιτέλους αληθινό και γευστικό καφέ με υπέροχη θέα.Το εστιατόριο μοναδικό, με στυλ Ταϊλάνδης και γευστικούς μεζέδες.Το προσωπικό πάρα πολύ καλό σε όλα τα τμήματα, η κορούλα μου τους αγάπησε όλους μα πιο πολύ τον νυχτερινό σεκιούριτι και τις κοπέλες στο καφέ. Παραφωνία η μη ύπαρξης πόρτας στην τουαλέτα των δωματίων, επίσης στο ανοιχτό εστιατόριο ο θαλασσινός αέρας μπάζει από παντού χρειάζεσαι ζακέτα μπουφάν κάλτσες κλπ για προστασία, η απαγόρευση υποδημάτων ναι μεν επιβάλλεται αλλά αναδεικνύει και την όψη των πατουσών των πελατών πρωινιάτικα. Δυστυχώς και σε αυτό το ξενοδοχείο οι ξαπλώστρες στη πισίνα-παραλία καταλαμβάνονται από πετσέτες χωρίς νοικοκύρη, κανονικά έπρεπε να απομακρύνονται από το προσωπικό πετσέτες που κάνουν ηλιοθεραπεία μόνες τους και χωρίς αντιηλιακό!

• Justin (8/5): Great - A very quiet hotel within easy walking distance to the main town center where there is a good choice of restaurants, bars and shops. The hotel restaurant is very good and situated by the sea so a wonderful view and breeze at breakfast. Beach and pool area are comfortable and clean. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay on the island. I would really have liked a changing area around the pool/sea

• Johannes (9/5): - Location is on a calmer part of the island. The rooms were clean. Almost private pier with pick up. Only instant coffee in room and for breakfast. Real coffee available for a charge at coffee shop. Airconditioner a bit loud
• ROBERT (7/5): - The staff are fantastic, the rooms are very nice and the samet resort group ferry service is exceptional. No warning of mobilty limitations at this hotel. The restaurant is only accessible by stairs with no banister. The tables in the restaurant are style over substance and not practical at all for anyone of a certain age or with mobility issues. One table and chairs in restaurant, the staff were fantastic and went out of their way to accommodate us. We previously stayed at sai kaew beach resort which is part of the samet resort group, so we were expecting similar facilities at baan ploy. Unfortunately this hotel does not live up to the other hotels in the samet resort group. If it had been a lot cheaper I could have lived with it but it's not cheap at all. In hindsight I wish I had paid the extra and stayed at sai kaew beach resort. On a side note sai kaew beach resort is also a problem with mobilty issues to access the beach.

• Sroberts408 (9/5): - The private beach. No need to travel to a crowded beach, you have your own piece of private sand beach. Beautiful. Rooms,were lovely, comfortable and clean. Staff were amazing. Breakfast was amazing. Location is quiet. I would come back and stay in a heartbrat The only thing that I didnt quite like is the beach faces North so looks and the mainland and there are 3 piers to the right of the hotel, the 3rd one being the islands main pier and your view from the beach faces all the shipping lanes from the mainland so there are boats coming and going all day from 8am to 5pm, one of which is an old diesel smokey thing, that said although the south facing beach of white sand beach is beautiful and looks out to an endless ocean its busy and crowded so id still take the private beach of the hotel.
• RichfromDC (8/5): Pleasant location with good amenities - Nicely appointed, spacious rooms. The view of the sea varies in the sea view rooms and you'll get more of it on the second floor. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The hotel has its own private beach area and a buoyed-off area of sea front, as well as a pool large enough for legit exercise. The restaurant is quite good, with a mix of Thai and Western items. The seafood was quite good and I have to confess I don't know why anyone would order Western food given this location. They will warn you what's spicy and what isn't. Nice selection of items for breakfast. The tv selections are limited to Thai cable channels. I'm surprised they don't at least have streaming options for rainy days. Language was a bit of a barrier with reception and they were unable to tell me where the pier was for pickup on the mainland side (it's bout a kilometer away from where the buses and mini-buses drop you), despite some of my Thai coming back to me. The times for their water taxi don't work well with public transit and I'd imagine that this works best if you're arriving by taxi from BKK or Pattaya. The restaurant staff speak better English. The walk to town takes less time than another poster suggested--maybe 10 min to the pier area and another 10 to the big beach through the little tourist trap ghetto. There are restaurants nearby, mostly at other hotels and a couple small local stores nearby, as well. The main reason to stay on the north end of the island is that it's quiet, and you really don't have to go elsewhere or deal with the usual tourist nonsense. This area of the island once was a fishing village and there are several other complexes of varying size and expense along the road, with a huge new one under construction. Some maps show a sunset point at the end of the road, but access seemed blocked.

• Christian (8/5): Schönes Hotel enttäuschende Insel. - die Fotos versprechen mehr als der Strand hergibt. Re u li neben der Anlage ist der Strand vorbei. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Das Hotel ist sehr schön jedoch ist alles rund um ungepflegt. Neben dem Hotel sind vier Tage durchjehend ein schwerer Dieselgenerator gelaufen, der Dieselabgase verbreitete. Am letzten Abend verbrannte ein Nachbar neben dem Hotel Plastik, das bis ins Restaurant stank.

• Lieven (9/5): Verblijf in het groen - Mooie kamer in het groene gedeelte van het hotel. Het eerste wat ze ons vroegen bij aankomst was of we tegen betaling een andere kamer wilden in het eerste gedeelte van het hotel, waardoor je de indruk kreeg dat je een slechte kamer had. De zitputten in het restaurant zijn heel onhandig. Gewoon tafels en stoelen plaatsen is veel handiger.

• John Sweeney (9/5): Complete peacefulness and our own piece of paradise. - I was impressed by all the staff at the resort who were fantastic. Range of food options was excellent. I would disagree with other reviewers about some comments I loved the fact that resort was quiet and can never understand why other residents wanted to go to a more commercialised beach 10 minutes which was great for us to have the beach to ourselves. Nothing everything was excellent.

• Andrea Ottolina (9/5): Resort elegante e confortevole, posizione tranquilla ma defilata - Struttura molto bella, elegante e armoniosa nel contesto naturale, pulita e confortevole, di livello superiore rispetto alla media dell’isola. Le camere sono ampie, ben arredate e pulite. La posizione è piacevole, affacciata su una piccola spiaggia quasi privata: non è certo il mare più bello dell’isola, ma è perfetta per qualche ora di relax, anche grazie all’ottima piscina vista mare, curata e pulitissima. Colazione varia e di qualità, ottime anche le cene nel ristorante del resort, in un contesto suggestivo e tranquillo. Dopo aver provato altri locali, siamo arrivati alla conclusione che fosse probabilmente il miglior ristorante dell’isola. Il personale è sempre gentile e disponibile, ben organizzati anche i transfer da e per l’isola. La posizione è un po' defilata rispetto al centro del paese e alla spiaggia principale, a circa 20 minuti a piedi o a pochi minuti di taxi. Il tratto di costa dove è ubicato il resort è riparato, quindi poco vento e mare calmo, però non è certamente il migliore dell'isola, per avere il bel mare e una bella spiaggia bisogna per forza spostarsi in altre parti dell'isola. In generale, secondo la nostra impressione, l'isola di Ko Samet non è all'altezza di altre isole thailandesi che abbiamo avuto il piacere di visitare in altre occasioni, sia a livello paesaggistico che di recettività turistica, quindi è una tappa comoda per chi per questioni di tempo e incastri ha necessità di fare qualche giorno al mare in un luogo facilmente raggiungibile da Bangkok (come noi in questa occasione), ma non certo da consigliare per chi ha voglia e l'opportunità di visitare altre isole thailandesi sicuramente più suggestive.

• peter (8/5): - Enjoy the stay… scooter rental was 2 doors down. Well worth the money 300-400 baht per day. Great island to explore. We had a great room with full ocean view and resort was well maintained. Morning breakfast was very good. Staff was very nice. Would stay again in the future.

The structure is simple but very clean and the staff extremely nice and helpful 24/24! The restaurant is very good just a bit poor for vegetarians. The boat shuttle to and from the island, included in the price of the stay, is very helpful and handy. I will suggest this place to my friends Thank you to all the staff

• Arnon (10/5): - It started with the exceptional pier service to get to the island. The staff were excellent. The jangle rooms are in the jangle, giving you the feeling that you are in one. The coffee shop in the facility is excellent, especially the chocolate cake. The pool and the beach are great. It was one of our best hotels so far. Nothing.
• sigalit (5/5): - המלון מאוד נקי ומטופח, נוף יפה,צוות שירותי מאוד. חייכינים, קשובים, זריזים, ומאוד חיוביים. הבריכה נהדרת המיקום כל כך גרוע שאין שום סיבה לישון במלון הזה. אין כלום, חוף גרוע מלא קיפודי ים כך שלא נגיש לרחצה או סאפ. אין מסעדות ,שייקים, אוכל רחוב או אפילו מינימרקט במרחק סביר. שיממון לא הגיוני לזמן חופשה, לכל מקום צריך לקחת מונית והמוניות בקוסאמט לא זולות. המסעדה יקרה מדי והמנות קטנות , תוספת 17 אחוז שירות+מס על תפריט יקר מלכתחילה, שלא גובים בשאר המקומות באי, ובמיקום כל כך מבודד זה מרגיש קצת כמו ניצול. חלק מהמניות היו טעימות ומעניינות מאוד, אבל עדיין יקר מאוד. הישיבה במסעדה על מזרונים, עם רגליים בתוך "בור" , פשוט לא נוח לקום ולשבת , אין על מה להישען, ואין שולחן אחד לשבת בנוחות למי שקשה לו לשבת על הרצפה. לא מובן. עיצוב לא מחליף פונקציונלית של כיסא. ארוחת הבוקר נחמדה רק ביום הראשון, אחר כך חוזרת על עצמה,ואין הרבה ירקות ופירות יחסית למלונות פשוטים אחרים בתאילנד . לא משהו מיוחד למרות המאמץ להגיש מנות יפות אה-לה-קארט. החדר שלנו היה בחלק השני, בג'ונגל, צריך לחצות כביש כדי להגיע לאיזור המרכזי וזה לא נוח עם ילדים. החדר עצמו היה מעצבן: שוב עיצוב מוזר, הכניסה והיציאה לחדר עוברים דרך השירותים. לכן לא ניתן להיכנס או לצאת בחופשיות. פשוט נורא לא נוח וממש מיותר להציע חדר כזה. אני לא ממליצה להגיע לכאן.

• Mats (9/5): Loved it - The hotel and the rooms are very new, super nice, and very comfortable. Specifically the rooms tucked away in the jungle are great! Walking distance to the village. There are nicer beaches on the island. This one isn't bad, but it's proximity to the harbor means that it's not as clean and boats can be noisy. But most people would rent a scooter anyway and beach-hop, so this isn't a problem.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Fräscht och bra, tre vattenflaskor om dagen ingick. Trevlig personal och bra frukost. Stranden och poolområdet var jättebra och man har gångavstånd 15 min in till byn.
• Nicola (9/5): Idyllic, stunning setting- would happily go back if I ever return to Thailand! - The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location was idyllic: peaceful and beautiful, but within walking distance of the busier resort where there were more activities and bars, if desired. The cafe opposite set in the jungle was also stunning and gave wonderful views; there was an option to stay in a jungle lodge there. It was also very easy to book transport to the West side of the island to see the stunning sunset. The wifi connection was very good and sufficient for my brother to complete some necessary work at his laptop while we were there. The transfer from the ferry was particularly smooth and included in the price for the day of arrival and departure- we were greeted on the mainland at the resort's own ferry terminal where our luggage was taken care of and transported to the hotel by tuk-tuk at the other end. It was an exceptional service which made travel to Baan Ploy so much easier. Breakfast is included in the price with plenty of choice: my brother and I had a hearty breakfast and then didn't need to eat until evening. For those who do not want to have their evening meal in the hotel, there is the option of Millie's beach bar, serving a wide range of tasty Thai dishes just 5 minutes walk away where it was lovely to eat beside the sea. There is a strange set up in the restaurant with the seats being sunk into the floor and the tables at ground level . This would be very difficult for anyone with mobility issues and also, for the poor staff who had to serve and clear from floor level.

• Geoffrey (9/5): A lovely relaxing and recuperative 3 days here. - The hotel was stylish, and comfortable. I loved the sunbathing area at the front of the hotel, with the sea just a few feet away, a great spot to chill. Food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. There wasn’t much so close to the property, after a short walk we got to Saikew beach, which we didn’t enjoy so much.
