Guest Reviews
- Rebecca (2/5): - I have traveled along to multiple states and have went to multiple hotels by myself yet staying at this hotel I felt the most uncomfortable.
For checking in had to wait a half hour to even do so as there was no one at the front desk and was there right before check out started (arrived at 2:30).
Went into the room and there is blood stains on the currents, no working toilet and the water was pure white. Ended up using the gas station toilet and buying bottled water for my dogs. Didn't bother asking for a different room as the other rooms show to me weren't in the best condition like one room shown reaked of dog urine. The room I got had a sewage smell from the ac/heating unit.
I chose this hotel for its distance from the dog event I was attending and that it didnt have a crazy weight limit for dogs but i honestly should have went somewhere else. Not only that but there were spots with multiple broken bottles and didnt feel comfortable even walking my dogs on the grass. I will never stay at this hotel and recommend paying more for a better stay where you can actually lock your door and don't have to barricade it.
- Christopher (2/5): - This place is uninhabitable
- Glenn (2/5): - The manager did not know what rooms were occupied so he knocked on doors to find out what rooms were empty. The first 2 rooms had someone in them. Also the lock did not work for the room I finally was able to get in except for his master key. He said he was always available to let me into the room. I went out to dinner and he was not there when I got back. Had to 45 minutes for him to return to get into my room.
- asim (2/5): - Horrible place to live evenbit is free.
A drunk staff will welcome you with swearing words.
- Rebekah (2/5): Too expensive for services provided - Not so good, run down and very dirty. No amenities listed were in the room. Not even a TV remote or phone. Linens covered in hair and burn holes. Will state breakfast provided milk & cereal, but in morning no staff to even conduct a checkout. Had to place the key on counter inside office area.
- Wade (2/5): - This is the dirtiest hotel i ajve ever stayed in. The bedding was dirty and stained. The floor, walls and furniture were all dirty. I foolishly pre-paid for the room. If had nit done that, i would have run away sreaming.
- jayson (2/5): - The door to the office had been kicked in and was braced with a 2x4. The door handle to the room did not work. The door to the room had previously been kicked in and was cobbled back together with drywall screws. I promptly took my bag, left out the back door, and stayed at another hotel. Stay here at your own risk.
- Caitlin (2/5): - This hotel is wayyy overpriced for what it is. Never stay here.
- Annette (2/5): - We left we did not stay! The clerk dean was annoyed we were there. Argumentive. The room was disgusting! They need a health inspection
- Ray (2/5): Poor place to stay - Front desk charged my card for the room even though I had already paid hotels.com. Reps from hotels.com assured me I did not pay twice, yet there are 2 charges on my card. Trash in hallways. Hair in sink. Door frame broken like it had been forced open.
- Elena (2/5): - Pay more and go somewhere else. They wouldn’t take me unless I paid them, even though I had paid Hotels.com. It is not well maintained. My non-smoking room smelled deeply like smoke. There are black cracks in sink, tub, and toilet. There is no mattress cover and blankets are in terrible shape. Place is dangerous. Receptionist warned us many times. In 3 words- go somewhere else.
- lawrence w. (2/5): 2 reservations messed up by hotels.com - Even though I had a confirmation number and they took my money, when I got there I was told “sorry” we over booked and are full. No money refunded until I called hotels.com a week later to find out what happened.
- Sean (2/5): - There was no stay. Was told there were no rooms available when I showed up to check in, and am now more than 2 weeks later left still trying to get refunded for a room I was denied.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Meth motel
Pretty scary
- Dianna (2/5): DO NOT STAY - The hotel, is dirty. Not well.kept. we did not even stay at this place
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Went to check in no one was there to check is in. How are we supposed to get a key if no one was there. I need a refund seem like was scam. Came back in the morning like the sign said at 6am and someone still not there.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - When I got there to check in, I was told that there was only one water heater working. Therefore, linen / bedding could not be washed at a certain temperature. Reservations were canceled and I had to find another hotel. I was still charged for room even though they issued me a cancellation, was told to contact Expedia for refund. Trying to contact Expedia to get a refund.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - When I got to the Hotel, there was a sign in the lobby that they weren't renting any rooms because of a Maint problem with Water.. There was no one in the Lobby and no one answered the phone ! The whole place looked abandoned and Filthy. I would like to get my money returned to me. I had to go way up the Hwy and find a room in another town. Please help. Mike
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No room available
- Visa United Explorer (2/5): Do not stay here! - It took 4 different rooms before we were able to get one that we could stay in.
1. Someone was sleeping in the bed
2 we found ashes on the bed and a cigarette but under the bed covers
3 Went to the air on and it didnt work
4 The light in the bathroon was burned out and had to wait for someone to fix
- MonicaFlora (10/5): - I really like this place because was affordable. Rooms were some what clean. They kinda forgot to clean out the friderator and there was food in there from the people before us. But no big deal just take it out and throw it away. I have been a maid before its not an easy task.
- Marylarson1963 (2/5): Dump - Talk about people who don't care about how high they are while dealing with guest...I have never been so scared to fall asleep at a hotel in my life...not only was the guy from the front desk totally condescending while checking is in, but the only other two employees we saw were so high they didn't seem to get anything accomplished besides us packing our car back up and just calling it a loss on the money just paid for the night...don't recommend ever staying at this dump
- Disappointed (4/5): - The fridge in the room did not work. They only leave you with one towel and no soap not even for your hands after you check in for two people. All around would not stay there again
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The only positive about this hotel was that it was inexpensive.
- Wilnew (2/5): Unsafe and concerned - This place is not recommended for anyone. We checked in, the young lady that finally showed up. Looked as though she’s on something, twitches and looked as though she’s been picking at her skin. Wearing sweatpants And a sweatshirt, definitely did not look like she worked there. As we are heading to our room, I’m seeing items like dressers and other furniture in the lobby and halls. Made me wonder if they are remodeling, now I’m thinking they maybe selling it off. The room was extremely small, not cleaned, the phone had been taken apart, the security latch had been busted off the frame, and the toilet didn’t flush. I addressed the concerns, and another woman switched us to another room. This one was a little cleaner, the toilet flushed. But, there is a phone that’s not hooked up. The phone cable is missing. What if there was an emergency? I just wanted to make it through the night, and get my family out. All the exterior doors are missing the security locks. Definitely did not feel safe. I missed out on a majority of sleep, because I was concerned. We would have left, but the no refund policy kept me from doing it. And after seeing reviews, all that’s getting done is your company apologizing. Nothing is getting fixed. I wished I had read them before hand. We was tired, and three young kids being stuck in a car all day. Just needed a place for the night. I regret ever coming here. And what type of motel sells off their items?
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Carpet was dirty. Bathroom floors were dirty.
And i got my biil today that was more than double what i expected
- Griffin9250 (10/5): Great service - Just driving thru town and stopped.... Front desk was very helpful and gave great recommendation on where to eat and shop... Room was very pleasant... Bed was extremely comfortable... Only issue was they have only showers no bathtubs
- Linden-NC (2/5): Scary unsafe feeling, cancelled reservation upon arriving onsite - My visit to Knights Inn was very disconcerting to me. Both my husband and I felt unsafe to spend the night there.
We pulled in front of the lobby area to find a shirtless and unkempt man appearing from the lobby door. He went to a car parked across from the lobby and re-entered the lobby.
I entered the lobby to check-in. There was no hotel representative available to greet me or check me in. I called the phone # on the counter sign to reach a representative with no success. I called the # several times only to have it ring the phone behind the counter in front on me. I left a message 1x and did not receive a call back.
The bare-chested man appeared in the lobby again while I was at the counter, he saw me and immediately turned and exited through an interior door into the hallway adjacent to the lobby. He continued to linger there as I waited in the lobby for a hotel rep to pick up the phone or show up at the counter.
I found a business card on the counter for Brittney Rohlfs, Front Desk Associate, that indicated a cell phone # 712-223-8737. I called the # and Brittney picked up, she said she would be at the counter momentarily. She came out of a hotel room immediately off the lobby where the bare-chested man had been lingering. She wore dark sweatpants with big writing up one pantside. She was not in any sort of business attire, which startled me as I initially thought she was a hotel guest in her pajamas instead of the hotel’s front desk staff. I asked her twice if everything was OK here at the hotel. She said it was. I told her I had been waiting over 10 minutes and called the # on the sign several times. She commented that she didn’t know why the hotel owner didn’t come to the counter.
My husband was parked outside the lobby. He was able to enter the hotel from an unsecured back door where he saw a Mexican man lingering across from the back entrance drinking a beer, and another Mexican man hanging out in the back corridor.
After checking in at the front desk, and not even seeing our room, I told Brittney that we didn't feel safe and to cancel our reservation. Scary place.
- Darrell (2/5): Don’t stay - What a sh** hole. No front desk person. Told me I didn’t pay for room when I already had.
- Michelle (4/5): A place to sleep... - For the price it was ok but all of the interior locks have been removed from both rooms we stayed in and the heat/cool unit in one was new and the other was tore up but worked. We were placed right next to people having a party well into the early morning hours and at first we could drown out the sound with our tv but after midnight it was a mute point it got too loud.
- Joseph (4/5): - I had stayed there a couple of nights prior to my last stay got the same room i had the do not change out bedding after every stay like they should, i only been staying there because of being able to park my truck and trailer, but after this im gonna try my best to stay away from this place
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The parking lot is full of pot holes. The heat was not warm enough. Bathroom was dirty.
- Richard (8/5): No frills, but very low cost. - Overall, I'm satisfied with my stay, mostly because the price was so reasonable. Also, the room itself was in quite good condition, and everything seemed to be in working order. I would stay there again, given the low price.
The hotel did seem to be understaffed. When I got there, there was nobody at the front desk. Instead, there was a sign directing me to call a phone number. When I called, she got there in about 5 minutes. When I checked out, there was nobody there, so I just left my key on the counter. She was very friendly and there were no problems. But I got the impression that they only had one clerk, she was on call 24 hours a day, and she came when needed. Again, it wasn't a problem for me.
Also, I was there two nights. Housekeeping came and emptied a waste basket and left new towels, but didn't make the bed. It wasn't a big deal, but just seemed a little odd.
As noted above, the room itself was clean, albeit somewhat old. The Wi-Fi worked well. Breakfast was just frozen waffles, packaged pastries, cereal, etc.
There is a railroad track that crosses their only driveway. I did hear trains a couple of times. I was worried that a train would be blocking it when I had to leave in the morning, but that didn't happen. But I would allow a few extra minutes, just in case there's a long train.
- Verified traveler (4/5): cary and discussing - It was very scary when we drove up. We past it 3times. It looked like it was deserted. Took awhile to get some one. The back door to our room had the glass broken no lock for security. My husband was expecting to have n ntires when we got up. It needs complete overhaul done. Would never
r ecommend it. i
- Brett (2/5): Dont waste your time!!! - I would not stay there again if it was free... had issues both nights. Key would not work on Sat night, went down to the lobby waited 10 mins, finally called only to find out the front desk person went home... had to wait another 15 minutes for her to get back, and then she copped an attitude with me when i seemed upset
Seems they are only in business for the construction workers that are there during the week
- horsefarmfox (2/5): Sleep in your car, instead. - This place is a dump. The desk clerk was nice, but that was the extent of the niceties. The NO REFUNDS sign is the best indicator of what lies ahead of you if you stay here. Wonder why there's a no refunds sign? Think about it. Wonder why there's a No Drugs sign? Once again, think about it. Bottom line: the place is a dump. Our room was made up OK, but is was smelly and musty. Getting into the room meant running the gauntlet of the party-ers (who didn't appear to be guests) congregated around the poorly lit back entrance. To be fair, none of them hassled us, but I really hate to walk through the haze of cigarette smoke around the door. This place should NOT be a national chain. Guess they paid the franchise fee. Right now I'm checking my bed for bedbugs. If they are there, there's little doubt where they came from.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was nice and comfortable. There was some damage to the bathroom door
- Jennifer (8/5): Nice but needs improvements - Night clerk was very friendly an even showed me the room before I stayed and it was nice but the A/C was not working so it was to hot so I declined.
- Jaimew728 (2/5): Nope - Gross rooms and unfriendly staff. She compared our stay to eating McDonald’s. The front desk was very rude and not pleasant at all! I am not one to complain about much. We just wanted a place to sleep for the night.
- beckahhw (2/5): Yuck Rooms - We arrive late Friday night. From out first experience we could tell that we had woken up the live in front desk lady. As we enter our rooms we crashed. It was after 1am we discovered our dirty cups for water. Waking up at 9:30a we also found toenails, and used dental floss. When presenting this information to Brittany Rohlfs, she told me there’s nothing she can do! Brittany likes to be challenged and argues back. Don’t be a Brittany! She informed me that the owner lives in Pakistan and doesn’t talk to customers or have a phone number. They only communicate through email. As a dissatisfied customer, I threatened to dispute my charges on my credit card. At this point she offered a $10 ACCOMMODATION. After the fact she just told me they don’t offer refunds of any sort! I gladly 1/10 of my money back!
- Verified traveler (2/5): What a mess! - Poor conditions. No maintenance or repairs. Bathroom light didn’t work, toilet plumbing didn’t work, building/ext. door security destroyed, curtains hanging off rod, dirty and old worn out conditions overall. Motel needs major renovations. Sheets were cleaned, but so worn out didn’t stay fitted. Only bath towels in bathroom. Water was cloudy and brownish. Someone had broken in through window, screen was bent. Ice machine in hallway loud (like a belt slipping). Overall very unsatisfactory.
- Penny (8/5): A place to nap and shower - We just needed a place to sleep and shower while traveling to Wyoming. It's nothing spectacular but it was cheap and served its purpose. Rebbeca at the desk, maybe it was brittany u dint remember but the girl was amazing both on the phone with me and when I arrived rather late. Thank you dear it's nice to have great customer service for a change. She needs a raise!!!!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There were no rooms available and they had no record of my reservation. Place was a dive. Smelled like hot piss
- Becky (2/5): Take this one off your list. - We chose not to stay. I’m not one to use hyperbole to make a point, this place looked like a crack house. Never mowed, cracked windows everywhere, dirty grounds, a guy sitting in the hallway floor looking like he had just shot up, and a sign that said the owners were not responsible for vandalism done to cars in their parking lot. We never got out of the car and drove on.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Horrible place to stay, they should tear this place down and start over. It there was a negative rating, I’d give it a -10
- GENE (6/5): If on budget - For the cost it was good
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The facility is old which itself isnt bad but the building nor the grounds were kept up. The only maid had quit cleaning the room i stayed in before she finished, i requested a different room but was informed from the only person (other than the maid) working there the hotel was full. The stairs leading to the second floor had clumps of dirt all over them when I arrived and the dirt was still there when I left the next morning. The curtains in the room were sheer and didn`t cover the entire window, the carpet hadn`t been vacuumed, my shoes stuck to the bathroom floor, the microwave had a large blob of crusted something on it and the phone was so gross I wouldnt put it to my ear. I had one wash cloth which i used to rewipe everything AFTER the maid came in and "RECLEANED"
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We stay here as we are passing through. Location is great. Property needs upgrading.
There was cat poo behind door, fridge was not plugged in, coffee maker could no be plugged in where it was located. Bathroom floor was dirty & lumpy beds.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The place was locked up so I couldn't check in...even though I had confirmed reservations...had to find another motel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel was very inexpensive. Things were a little worn, but my room was clean. The Staff was also very nice and helpful.
- Gail (2/5): Don’t stay here - There was garbage all over the place. You could tell they were having trouble with there sewer because of the smell. We had a coffee pot with no coffee. The shower curtain was falling down. Half of the lamps had no bulbs and we had to practically break down the door to our room when we first got there.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The motel seems to be very short of staff. One individual who was working both evening and morning was not awake to prepare breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice staff, great price. Although the facility is not a five star hotel, it is close to the airport and reasonably price. Bring your own shampoo and soap.
- Darius (6/5): Ok I guess - Heater didn’t work, toilet didn’t work, outlets didn’t work.
- Cody (2/5): Dump - It was a freaking dump no one knows how to clean the shower curtain had mold the sheets went exactly clean the bed cover has bed changed the one chair was dirty just overall dump
- Cindy (2/5): - There was no one at the desk to check in or check out. You had to use the telephone at the desk to get someone to come out. They were not busy cleaning the rooms....the person who came out had obviously been sleeping. The shower curtain was torn and dirty. I was not compelled to shower there, it was so gross. Homeless people camped out in the parking lot made me wonder about the safety of my car. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give it a minus 20. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Possibly, with some regular maintenance and staff that was not so lazy, this hotel would be okay.
- Rod (2/5): Horrible experience - Long check in even though this was 1:30 AM. The clerk could not seem to get my info into the computer even tho I was checked in online. The key did not open the room and was a long walk back to the front desk. Then on the 2nd attempt the room opened only to find the room had not been cleaned. The bed was stripped of sheets, the bathroom was dirty with spiders and several others bugs. The sink had coffee grounds in it and no clean towels. I was so tired at 1:30 AM, I slept on the mattress pad with the bed cover over me. I was only in the room 6 hours. It was the first time in my life I have ever stayed in a dirty room that had not been cleaned.
- L8965DMjeffm (2/5): Never had a dirtier experience in a national chain. - We had two rooms on 7/17/2018. I should have been wary when upon checking in I seen the sign at the desk saying "Absolutely No Refunds". But the reservations were done online and it was too late too cancel. The check-in lady was quite pleasant, but "nice" stopped right there. The weeds and grass around the building approach knee-high, and had an over-all dumpy look to it. My son and I took one room, wife and daughter in the other. My room needed paint badly, the A/C unit had the vents all busted out and was seriously rusted, couldn't read the dials. My son goes in the bathroom, comes out laughing and says we have a frog in there. Sure enough, enjoying the pool of water from the toilet leak and with a few other bugs sat the frog. Caught him and let him outside. The bathroom had only been superficially cleaned as the shower floor had dirty footprints and pubic hair on it. Under the toilet seat, urine dribble from who knows how long ago. Lumpy pillows and stained sheets finished it off. The girls had only 2 of 5 lights work, bathroom towel rod laying on the floor, stained sheets and threadbare wash cloths. The only good thing about the rooms was a decent TV and I didn't see any bed bugs thankfully. We paid $140+ for the two rooms, we left feeling dirtier than the rooms. A nationwide chain should be embarrassed for such a place. I'm not a rich snob expecting perfection, just a clean room at a fair price, but this wasn't it. Save your dollars and sleep in your car at the rest area; you'll get a better nights sleep.
- zonapellucida1010 (10/5): Midwestern Hospitality :) :) :) - The Knights Inn was an extremely pleasant stay. Their customer service was some of the best I've ever experienced. The rooms were very clean with clean towels and sheets. One of my favorite things to do was to have a very nice cup of hot chocolate with breakfast every morning. Though there was not a shuttle, they were very helpful in taking me where I needed to go. Everyone went above and beyond the call of duty to make my stay there very enjoyable and relaxing. For this reason, I give the Knights Inn on Harbor Drive 6 stars. All the best, Sharmeen D. Jones :) :) :)
- natej544 (2/5): They clean at night!? a maid came into my room at 2:30AM!!! - I started a review at 2:30 this morning and I don’t normally give good or bad reviews but I thought this one deserved to have something said. When I checked in the lady at the front desk was really polite, she did have her phone on a live feed on Facebook that had some inappropriate conversations but that stuff doesn’t bother me. There is no shuttle and told me she could give me a ride if needed, Great! I did check in early so she wasn’t expecting anyone. So..... 2:30 in the morning comes around and I hear the safety latch catch my door. I jumped out of bed and yelled some profanity’s, called the front desk and she said she had maids checking rooms? Was she there to tuck me in? Then the lady from the front desk and (I assume) the maid stood in the hallway a door down and had a good conversation with each other. Again I opened the door in my underwear to the front desk lady, a maid and maid cart with a look of how is this good business! I did get back to sleep but my adrenaline was going pretty good after being shocked out of bed... I stay in motels 60-100 nights a year for work and have never seen anything like this...
- AJF87 (6/5): 3 Knights $177 plus tax - Knights Inn has replaced Motel 6 so if you ever stayed in a Motel 6 then the layout is the same, small bathrooms with shower only but they have added coffee pots, refrigerator, mircowave, and pillow top mattresses. Our room was clean so were the hallways, but the construction workers did leave their thrash outside the back doors. The main outdoor sign did not work on the street side but did on the Interstate side, hard to find since they redigned the Sioux Gateway Airport entrance so have a GPS or find it during daylight hours. Parking lot does need to be repaved and the entrance redesigned, also an office sign would be helpful
- 281bethanyc (4/5): Not at all impressed. - Our room was filthy, if it wasn't really late and us having to get up and on the road early I would have requested to move rooms. No cups, what appeared to be watered down blood on the bathroom light switch and wall. Food crumbs on top of the mini fridge, something that looked like flem dried to the bathroom sink. We didn't really notice many things until the next morning but we were disgusted.
- O3600GNshawnb (6/5): garbages where all full. Some day didn't get wash cloths. Had to force way into room every time. - All The room garbage cans were full of garbage even though it was a freshly clean room we had to along with the manager force our way into the room every day because the locks wouldn't fully unlock some days we didn't have all of the towels even know there was two people staying in the room we wouldn't get washcloths your handtowels and sometimes one towel
- G7576FJpatriciaa (4/5): Miserable Stay - This hotel was in poor condition. The room had a foul odor and there was mold on the ceiling and one wall in the bathroom. The shower floor had hair on it. We seriously did not want to stay once we checked in and saw the room. We were extremely tired from traveling all day so we just went ahead and stayed. They did provide a continental breakfast and the breakfast area was clean so we felt it was safe to eat there. I would not recommend this hotel.
- suzannebM6096VZ (2/5): Disappointed - No air conditioning in first room and only one chair. Second room dirty, needed vacuuming, soap and toothpaste still in sink, light above sink not working, shower curtain torn. Whole facility very unsecure. Easy access without key cards. Didn't attempt breakfast because everything seemed dirty and uncared for. Wyndham cannot just put in a few amenities with their name on them and expect good reviews.
- Big46Phil (10/5): Sargent Bluff - The staff Jen, Shelby, Jill, mya, were really professional and did all they could to keep me comfortable...
- sn0w2013 (2/5): Nightmare in Sioux City Iowa - Would recommend sleeping in your car it is safer. We travel with our pet a 12 lb maltese poodle, we were advised no pets tho the lady at the front desk said she would let us stay. this one nite cost us $88.00. Someone tried to get in our room around 2 AM only thing holding them out was the c shape security lock. At 7 AM or there about there was knocking on the door concerning our pet. The lady did not identify herself in anyway, but continued to tell me no pets were allowed. I advised her my husband had made the arrangements for the room and we were given permission then she went into is it a service dog? Did we have her service papers? after this waking me up again, we loaded our things but left a suitcase by accident, upon calling to check on it and pick it up I was advised we did not leave any luggage. Well that is fine but they did have my luggage along with 2 laptop computers and a kindle. So unless you are carrying some heavy security with you best to move on.

- 807edselm (4/5): No, No Housekeeping - Rooms were not cleaned, ie: phone was very dirty, remote was greasy, no battery in remote, noticeable dust on back of toilet, not vacuumed, curtains hanging crooked (in many rooms-seen from outside), trash all over in parking lot, window in one room wouldn't shut so fine gritty dirt was blowing in on furniture.
