Guest Reviews
- Dee (8/5): - Very nice & quiet, spacious & great having your private plunge pool. Staff was really nice & tours are very reasonable—best deals around. Only negative was that nothing was with in walking distance so you’d have to cab it everywhere
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The location of the hotel is very remote! It's very inconvenient to get out of the hotel onto the main street! Except for the taxi in front of the hotel, no other car was willing to drive in... .
The view was beautiful on website pictures, but it actually looked like it was on top of an unbuilt mountain. It also didn't feel safe!
- Ada (8/5): - The service was god but the facilities inside is very poor. The amenities are old, the towels, the table cloth very old.The cups have stink on it. But for this price, it's worth to stay once.
- Mick (8/5): - We stayed in the Bayview room and loved the view the pool is a nice way to end your day in Bali the back deck area is small but with the cabana it feels like you’re on top of Bali the cabana tho is unsafe it leans and is getting eaten by termites the flooring is about to cave in. The room itself is kept tidy but the walls are mouldy and need a good scrub and paint and the bedding is really old and worn. The bathroom is dark and old as well the toilet leaked on the floor and the shower literally had no water pressure the bath was ok the room fills with mosquitoes at night so make sure you buy bug spray it sounds bad but we did enjoy our stay here the staff are kind the views are stunning it’s a nice way to unwind
- Ivan (8/5): - Great size of room, location kind of far from everything.
- Abdalah (8/5): - The excellent view is the best thing, clean, private, really quite and peacful with good staff.
Very far from attractions and this is the biggest problem but you will love staying there.
- Abdalah (10/5): - Excellent place for those who seek peace, excellent view, remote from attraction but you have everything
- Kim (8/5): - Great place to relax. Service was good, room was clean. Food not the best and many items on the menu were unavailable, although breakfast was great!
- kadek cohan (8/5): Good hotel.staff very nice - Hotel very nice. Private.staff very good pleasant. Only need to improve is the maintaining the cleanest of the condition of the hotel.laundry.
The bad was the road to get there is very bad road lighting. Recommended use driver.if you drive by your self might get lost.
- Sheikh Minhaj (4/5): Doesn't worth the money - I had an expectation that I could bath in the private pool. But it failed measurably. The pool is more than 6 feet deep, its impossible to bath in the pool if you don't know swimming. Plus the bathroom's bathtub was not functioning. The water was not passing. Only good thing is the staff members were really helpful and cordial.
- Vicki (10/5): Lovely and relaxing - I spent a week at Jimbaran Cliffs as I needed to unwind and relax after a busy year. This was the perfect place to do it. The private pool was amazing and I spent many an hour swimming in it and relaxing in the Bali hut. The staff were terrific, special mention of Putu in the restaurant. She was brilliant from day one, remembered my name right from the start and after one meal remembered my particular preferences and was ready and waiting as soon as I walked in. I also got the staff to try out making lots of new cocktails, which meant I got to try out consuming them.... I had a massage most days and they were very relaxing. Overall some much needed downtime was very enjoyable in this lovely place. The owner Peter stopped and had a chat over breakfast one morning which was great. If you like peace and serenity, this is the place for you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel - Liked the pool and the staff food and spa also excellent
- adam (10/5): Very quiet and private. Absolutely loved it. - Stayed for 8 nights. Private and cosy. Pool fantastic and staff very helpful and friendly. Will definately be back.
- Rachel (8/5): Nice Hotel if you want quiet getaway - We enjoyed our stay here, very friendly staff. Room was lovely and the villa pool area was excellent. Nice bathroom. The room and pool were clean. We stayed for 4 days which was enough. Good value for money. It is quite isolated so more suited to honeymoon couples.
Biggest let down was the restaurant, below average. We went out for all meals after the first experience.
- Richard (10/5): Amazing but truly hidden hotel - I stayed three nights here and I fully enjoyed much more than I expected.
Especially the private pool is clean, huge and deep, so I jumped in every morning and night.
The room is also big and all necessary items are equipped.
The hotel stuffs are very friendly and kind.
The restaurant is awesome and you should try fish fillet which I had twice during stay.
The location is truly hidden. It's about 20 mins from main street and I enjoyed calm and quiet time on the day bed. On the other, the hotel is truly hidden indeed, even local driver hard to find and reach here. So you need to tell your driver the address and hotel's phone number.
From the above, it's great cost performance and I definitely come back.
- Dana (8/5): Lowkey luxury in secluded spot - It was hard to find this hotel. It is actually in Nusa Dua and not Jimbaran. Our taxi driver had trouble finding it even with an address and my GPS (which was incorrect...led us nearby but not all the way there). The best thing to do is to coordinate with hotel staff beforehand to arrange a (free) pickup from the Bali airport, which is not far away.
The hotel staff was wonderful. They were extremely friendly and helpful. They arranged taxi rides, shuttle service, and scooter rental for us. The food from the restaurant was great and reasonably priced (as most things are in Bali). The room was clean, had all the necessary amenities (only complaint was tv and DVD player stopped working on our last day, but that was a minor issue). The private pool on the room's balcony was gorgeous. It was really a highlight of the resort. The other highlight was the complimentary massage at the spa. Wonderful.
- Ashlee (10/5): Hidden gem - Unbelievable service. Unbelievable property and the private room had everything we needed. The only let down was that we didn't stay longer. Best accommodation of the whole holiday.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing view and very nice helpful staff - Your was very educational and staff members very helpful! Room and view was amazing
- Irene (8/5): - The approach road was narrow and winding and rather scary arriving at night. Unfortunately we arrived at 11 pm and had to leave at 9am so there wasn't much to experience the room and service. Room and bathroom were spacious and well laid out but each time you take a shower the water does not drain properly and the whole room gets wet. We called in advance and requested for food upon arrival and it was served quickly. I guess unless you are in for the spa treatment one would find it rather remote as it is not a place that you can go out for a leisurely stroll.
- lorraine (8/5): Relaxing spot FAR from the hustle and bustle - I've read a few reviews about this hotel being dated. If your looking for ultra modern then it's not for you. Personally a tile missing on the swimming pool wall high above my head did not affect my stay.
We were in the area for a friend's wedding so we had no real plans to see a lot of the local area, it was our relaxing few days of the trip as we had jam packed days planned for other locations.
We spent soo much time in our room and chilling my the pool both during the day and in the evening enjoying our gazebo. We even had a resident iguana that lived behind its light.
We got the hotel taxi down to the beach a number of evenings for dinner which was easily arranged.
We ordered breakfast to our room most mornings which was always prompt and very tasty. We did learn on the day after the wedding that it was much cheaper to have an early brunch as the lunch prices were a lot lower than the breakfast ones. All in all we were happy with the food.
The room and bathroom was scented with insence with was a lovley touch.
If you are looking for an active place close to amenities with social bars and restaurants this is not the place for you!! If like us you want a few days to chill out on your own and enjoy each others company then you won't be disappointed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Jimbaran cliffs - Room was huge, clean, nicely decorated. Bed was comfortable. I didn't realize it was going to have a mini kitchen area, not that I was planning on cooking. The bathroom had a huge tub which can prolly fit more than two people. From the bed area to bathroom to the outdoor part, it had those insect repellant incense but there were still mosquitos/bugs that were flying around, helpful but doesn't make all the bugs go away. It is Bali and surrounded by plants/trees which is acceptable and expected. Staff were very friendly and arranged our taxi to arrive at 430am. I picked the hotel because of the location price and free airport shuttle service but unfortunately airport shuttle service is not 24/7. That was the only downside/con of this hotel. Other than that I would highly recommend this hotel
- BrekkyBuddies (8/5): - Overall good. Easy on the pocket. Close to airport. Free airport pick up and drop off.
- chris (6/5): Very quiet and away from everything. - Staff were fabulous even though there seemed to be a bit of a language barrier with a few staff. Was away from everything which is what we were seeking, however when we did venture out we found it an issue getting back as taxis are not very familiar with this area. Would suggest Trying to arrange transport with villa drivers prior to leaving villas. Villas lovely and clean. Was fabulous getting out of bed, walking out the door and your private pool directly in front of you. Restaurant on site great.
- Kaylee (4/5): Cliff hotel - The bathroom and infinity pool are awesome, but beyond that the hotel and staff leave a lot to be desired!!! The hotel is about 10-15 minutes from anything and they do charge quite a bit to take you even up the street to the nearest busy street.
The first night we did not have television and we did not have a working phone at any point during our stay and the staff could do nothing to fix the phone issue.
The food is subpar at best and they do a sign and pay later method which was inconvenient because A friend and I were staying together for our trip. They ended up messing our bills up in the end when I left and we ended up having to sort the whole thing our for them in the end.
If anyone is considering this hotel, just pay $.26 more and stay closer to city center or near the beach!!! Save yourself a headache!!!
- Michelle (8/5): nice villas and amazing infinity pools - I would rebook this hotel just for their infinity pools! They look exactly like the pictures and even though the cheaper villas have a roof blocking the skyline, its still worth it. The only reason I wouldn't rebook is because of the mosquitos. There are alot of them especially because the bathroom is partly outside. The bathroom is one of the highlights of the room but can feel like a luxurious public pool shower area. The room and private pool was overall clean. The bed was ok, some towels had holes in them. I love the complimentary fresh fruits upon arrival. The staff is super nice and accomodating, I was able to check in a few hours early. The restaurant was pretty empty when I went, the food was decent. I think there was a connecting door, near the bathroom, to another villa because I could hear the couple next door. The location of the hotel is really hidden, its far but close to the center city/beach area. If you are looking for a getaway but still want an option to go to the beach which is 15/20 mins away then I recommend booking this spot! Very close to the airport and they provide a free ride there which is a plus!
- T (10/5): Serene hide out - Putra was fantastic throughout our 4 night stay, friendly with good english. This hotel is located up a small rd, past a cow, chicken, some wild dogs and a dirt road. Our very first taxi said he had last taken guest to this hotel 10 years ago! Most other taxi's didn't know the way so we said it was between mini mart and same same map restaurant off the main highway. The printed map provided by the hotel is very small and blurry. The hotel's own shuttle is reasonably priced. We stayed in room 101 which has the cliff edge (definitely worth it) which has nothing to obstruct the wide views unlike 105 that mainly sees roofs. rm 101 is a fair way from any views of the water but you can see the farm below which mainly consists of 5 dogs a rooster (which will wake you up) and a few houses here and there, cacao trees. Rained most mornings so never caught the sunrise but the sunsets were beautiful. Having a private pool was amazing! The cabana had ants on it too often so I never stayed for more than a few minutes. I know the housekeeping staff sweep it but ants will be ants. The pillows, bed and linen were nice and soft, although some of the pillow cases have started to fray at the edges; clean none the less. Good strong wifi in 101. Decor is nothing to rage about, lamp shades need to be washed or replaced in 101. 105 better decor. never experienced "outdoor bathroom" before - not sure it is for us because it's hot out there with no aircon with strong incense (to keep away bugs?)
- Joumana (8/5): Clean, amazing sunset and extremely friendly staff - At first it felt a little far from everything but then I preferred it as we would have a little swim in the morning and go out for the day and have a swim at night. The villa we stayed in was amazing with an amazing view! It was very clean and we got room service daily. The only thing was there wasn't enough cups for all of us as there was eight of us other than that no complaints. The staff would turn on the mosquitos repellent daily for us, not one mosquito in the villa! Loved the pool, it was reasonably priced, the money we saved we spent it on sightseeing. We used the car service a few times, very reasonably priced and they were always ready when we needed them. The staff were very friendly and polite. Would definitely stay there again and I highly recommend Jimbaran Cliffs Resort and Spa!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Relax - The perfect place if you don't want to go anywhere. Laze by the pool, have a few drinks and soak up the tranquil surrounds. A good selection of western food that is fresh and of a high standard delivered to your door. Followed by a relaxing bath outside
- Nicolas (10/5): Just the two of you - Perfect for a romantic getaway. It's not near the sea, but the sea is not far. Great, would go back now.
- Ali (8/5): Beautiful Hotel - fantastic staff - Fantastic place, great staff. Little expensive to get into town tho - they should probably offer this service for free (as a taxi was actually cheaper than the hotel). Also they should offer the continental breakfast for free each day.
- Aung Thein (10/5): Really a Private Hotel - -We book 4 rooms villa. It has around 3000-4000 ft
-A lot privacy. It look like a Home.
-Nice view from the Villa
-We tried the dinner at Restaurant. Generally all great unless our Beef Satay were over grill (totally Black) but they still put on our table. We need to ask for exchange it.
-One more thing they can improve is "reply email" and "free transporation". The hotel provide free transport to some destination. I had replied them that we have 8 ppl with luggage cannot fix with 7 seater car. But no reply for that and only send 1 car to us. Need us wait for 2nd pick up. Moreover when leaving the villa they need us to give another car charges because they said 1 room only provide 1 Free car. The fees is not much. But i think it is a service that can improve for 4 rooms villa. We booked for 4 bed rooms villa, it should be 8 guests, right?
- dennis (10/5): Honeymooners - It was our honeymoon, was a nice quiet place to stay. Staff where wonderful
- Verified traveler (10/5): nice trip - perfect stay
- Darren (8/5): - 4 days spent at this private spa & resort. reecomend this for couples that maybe are honeymooning etc
- Verified traveler (10/5): Absolute bliss - No other word to describe this hotel but amazing! We loved everything about it! Incredible service, amazing and reasonable massages, beautiful rooms and having a private pool was perfect! Thanks for such a great stay!
- Iain (10/5): Quiet location, very relaxing. - Made to feel welcome from the first to last moment. Great room, lovely private pool.
- Verified traveler (8/5): quiete place - Good stay for getaway.. quiete place.. room lil bit old
- Sue (10/5): our own private pool! - We loved the property although it was not close to amenities. Very quiet and peaceful. Great to wind down.
- Brian (8/5): Great service & room. Below avg food &accessibilty - The concierge was very pleasant. He arranged pick up from the airport when our flight landed at 5:15 am. He arranged tour to Ulawatu and dropped us off and picked us up near Nusa Dua. The room was in great condition, and very clean. We loved the private pool. Also, we were greeted with rose pedals in the tub also on the bed as we were visiting on our honeymoon and I mentioned this when booking the hotel.
The negatives include very high priced food and massages. Also, the food was cold when we ate in the restaurant or when ordering for room delivery. Also, the food was bland and overpriced. The couple massages were decent, but the price paid did not match the quality of the massages. The hotel is very far and removed from the main road. It'd be a 10 min walk through an unsafe neighborhood just to get the main road so a driver is mandatory. Not accessible by foot to nearby markets or restaurants.

- Wan (6/5): Nice environment but isolate - + Nice pool, big bed
- Kitchen is only a decoration unless you pay $20(USD) per day for gas and other kitchenware.
- Not good value for money
- Far away from anywhere
- Chris (10/5): - Facilities: Outstanding; Value: Great deal; Service: Flawless; Cleanliness: Pristine;
Private pool, views, room size and furniture, outdoor living area and on-site spa all the best we've encountered during our trip.
- Jodie (10/5): - Facilities: Spacious units; Value: Bargain; Service: Phenomenal, Fantastic friendly staff; Cleanliness: Lovely;
Thanks so much to Yoyo, Smiley, Melanie and all the staff who made our stay so wonderful; Special mention to Leila for best Bali massage ever!
- Michelle (10/5): - Value: Great deal; Service: Friendly; Cleanliness: Neat;
- loidie (6/5): Shame about the location and design! - The hotel is off the main road to Nusa Dua up a very small street that turns into an unsealed road. The taxi drivers do not know about it and always have to give directions.
The rooms are lovely with kitchen but no equipment to use there! Outdoor undercover delightful bathroom. Kept very clean.
The outdoor area consists of a raised area with day beds looking onto an infinity pool that unfortunately has the view totally blocked out by the roof of the room in front. The design of the area is such that it gets the full impact of the wind (as you are on top of a hill) which can be unpleasant.
On paper the hotel looks great but in reality the difficult geographic position means you are not near anywhere and need a taxi every time you go out and the private pool area is spoilt by the roof view and the wind.
- annabel (10/5): - Facilities: Good; Value: Affordable; Service: Outstanding; Cleanliness: Immaculate;
- Jeff (10/5): Great Getaway - From the moment we were collected from the airport, staff at Jimbaran Cliffs Hotel made us feel right at home. The facilities are great and very clean. The private pool is spectacular and the restaurant is great and provides in room dining at no extra cost. Hotel is quite secluded which meant walking places was difficult, however staff are very helpful in calling a taxi or having someone drive you somewhere. The villa is that nice though that you won't want to leave your room too often. The spa was great too and was reasonably priced. Definitely recommend for couples in particular if you are after a relaxing getaway.

- Chris (10/5): An absolute gem of a hotel... - What a wonderful hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful, we had an amazing week!
The hotels' location is wonderful if you are looking for a quiet break, away from the madness of Kuta.
Our room was fantastic, very private and the outdoor bathroom was delightful and a private pool too!
If you want beach then stay somewhere else but I would recommend to anyone that you should stay here instead, the pool more than makes up for it!
- sameer (10/5): - Value: Great deal; Cleanliness: Spotless;
- Cazza (10/5): Amazing Getaway - If you are after a romantic getaway from the hustle and bustle of tourist areas this is the place to come. This is my second visit to Jimbaran Cliffs Private Hotel and Spa in two years and it is still as good as the first. The villa was very clean, and the price and quality of food was exceptional. The villa is off the Beaten path but is access able by car or taxi, Nusa Dua is only 5 mins/40000 rp away. Staff are extremely friendly and the service is great. Recommend this place to unwind away from it all.
- Ben (10/5): - Facilities: Nice ; Value: Great deal; Service: Professional, Friendly, Courteous; Cleanliness: Beautiful;
Great friendly staff. Would recommend to everyone!
- kederick (8/5): Nice view with friendly staff - Should have a better aircond for such a huge villa. One of the room aircond is faulty as well. It gets pretty warm all the time and making us uncomfortable. Lucky it rains on the second night.
The service is the thing to shout about. Their friendly staff makes you feel pampered all the time!
Overall is a good stay!
- Shane (10/5): - Facilities: Above average; Value: Economical; Service: Go the extra mile; Cleanliness: Immaculate;

- David (10/5): Gorgeous hotel with privacy - There really are no words for this hotel. Absolutely incredible hotel-- don't mind the drive up to the property, as you feel like you may be entering a horror film because of its remote location. The villas are gorgeous-- highly, highly recommend the Cempaka Suite (ask for room 102). This hotel is not a hotel for families by any means; it is the ultimate in privacy and romance with private plunge pools at each villa.
The hotel staff here go above and beyond, trying to please every need. We used the front desk for everything-- local touristy recommendations, transportation services, spa treatments, restaurant recommendations, etc. They never once failed to deliver, even reconfirming everything with us whenever we were near the lobby to be sure nothing fell through the cracks. We tipped each of the staff members individually at the end of the stay because we were so impressed with the service provided.
The spa is a little more expensive than most in town, but by no means expensive by Western standards. Great massages (coming from someone who used to get them at least 2x/month). We were also very impressed with the food at the hotel; we wound up eating in several times; partially due to the remote location and ease of dining in, but also due to the quality of the food served and appeal of eating from your daybed.
Highly, highly recommend this hotel for any couples who may be traveling to the area and are looking for privacy and alone time.
- Margaret (10/5): Romantic getaway ,great views great hotel - The driver was waiting for us at the airport to take us to the hotel. A bath was drawn with rose petals and a beautiful swan heart display surrounded by rose petals and a long stem rose was on the bed. The swimming pool was spotless and the staff and drivers fantastic.

A Perfect place to relax and unwind, away from the normal Bali bustle
- Ahmed (10/5): The hotel area is really poor little far from beac - I come for my honeymoon the hotel is overall is nice the thing I don't like it is the room too big and has little fernture and its not modern do not compare it with USA. For Asia country it's nice. The price is not worth for the hotel if its 65$ take it but I don't give it more than 70$ per night

If you're looking for a place to chill out in luxury, this is it, cannot recommend enough. Pay the little bit extra for a non-roof top villa- worth it
- Laura (10/5): Private and Relaxing - Jimbaran Cliffs Private Hotel was peaceful and very private. We felt like we were alone at the hotel, even though there were several other guests staying there at the same time. We enjoyed our own infinity pool and found the hotel to be very clean. We also had a couples' massage that was well worth the money spent, especially after our long flight to Bali. The staff was very friendly and very helpful in arranging for rides to Nusa Dua. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back!

- Mary-ann (4/5): Decent value for the price, Residential location - We booked and paid extra for "Cliff Edge" however the room we received was not cliff edge rather a view someones back yard, the edge of our pool was about 15 feet of the ground. We asked for new room was told fully booked I felt very misled by this. Interestingly enough, my last 2 days in bali were spend watching chickens and dogs digging in the dirt. Apparently there is a pig farm near by or next to the hotel as the unpleasant Feces Aroma was in the air while swimming in the pool. Overall the room was nice and modern, clean, wifi. The food was nothing to write home about and actually was the most overpriced and bland of our trip to Bali. We stayed at 300-400$ a night resorts during our stay and had much more reasonable prices for much better food. The first night it took almost 2 hours to receive the order. The location is off the side of NUSA pass highway in a neighborhood took us 2.5 hours to drive there from Kuta beach, the traffic is terrible in this area during the day time. Our GPS got lost as the roads are not in the unit, and (TIP) locating a taxi and paying him to lead us to the hotel was the only solution. The hotel is located next to residential houses on the end of a dirt road. We wanted to stay near the airport on our final 2 days which was accomplished (15 mins to DEN). Staff was very kind and helpful as mostly all Balinese are. We would not stay here again, however this would be a decent place for a budget traveller who needed to stay in Nusa.

- Verified traveler (2/5): We took photo's but none of them are complimentary - We booked & paid for 7 nights. After the 2nd night we checked out & stayed at another hotel. We had no hot water and the toilet leaked all over the floor when flushed. It stank!They moved us to another room, which had hot water but no working toilet. The staff told us to put our hands in the toilet cystern to pull a leaver to flush it. The sheets were stained. The linen in the dining room had food stains caked on them. The pictures on the net are false. Maybe it looked like that 3 years ago but not any more. We walked in the dark up and down unlit rikketty steps. I got a rusty nail stuck in my shoe. There was construction within the hotel. The management was apaalling. We would not recommend or stay at this remote hotel. Plus it is in Jimbarin not Nusa Dua as advertised! Everyone expects the plumbing to work - they treated us like a nuisance because we wanted a toilet that flushed & didn't excreet all over the floor, the first afternoon, they told us to wait until the the next day & they would call a plumber - in the meantime???
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing - Amazing! My husband and I went to Bali February'13 and stayed here 3 nights. The hotel is small which was what we wanted - I think 8 rooms. We had the cliff edge room which was very secluded as nobody overlooks the infinity pool except the Balinese countryside!It's quiet, and the customer service is personalised. On the first night we went to the bar (late) I asked for a g&t but they had ran out of tonic - he was so apologetic, so I chose a cocktail which was amazing. Any way the 2nd night the bar man had remembered us and said they had now got tonic - perfect. Add to that that the strawberry cocktail - home made i must add, that i had the night before was in cocktail hour so I had a few of them whilst watching the sunset from the day bed by the main pool. The service was amazing as soon as you finished a drink they would come and get your glass and replenish if you wanted them to. You wouldn't even have to tell them what you wanted unless you wanted something different The food and drink was reasonable - cheap compared to our other hotel in Bali and much cheaper than the UK. We used the room service every day and the food was nice, presented well, good size portion and main meals were hot - they even set up the table in your room as they put the food down. Hotel very clean even though they were refurbishing the restaurant when we were there. We wanted to go to Jimbaran beach one night so they arranged a taxi for us which was great. We would defiantly go back.
