Peter was very helpful. - Bathroom had consistent hairs on floor even though I had left a note in the room, Shower smelled moldy, carpet was not vacuumed, Keurig coffee’swere not replenished sufficiently, sheets were not changed. Breakfast lacked hardboiled eggs despite saying eggs on the cooler. Oatmeal would be a nice alternative. On the First night hockey players made obnoxious noise from 11-12:30 had to call front desk twice before noise ended.

- wgallaway1118 (2/5): Management Issue - My experience with the hotel management (Peter) was not great at all. I went to get breakfast with my 14yo son in the dining area of the hotel around 7am. At that time I used the remote that was left under the TV to change the channel to Fox news being my son and I were the only people there having breakfast until our group of about 30 people joined soon after. This TV was used by us the night before without issue. Thats when Peter came in and told me I CAN NOT watch a news station and we can only watch the weather. I was very taken back by this and I asked why is the remote left under the TV for guests if we can't watch what we want? His response was we have to many issues with news stations being on. Jeep in mind it was only my son and I at that time and our group joined us shortly after. Not 1 person outside our group was there from the hotel other than Peter (Management) that had an issue with the TV being on a news station (Fox/News max). I asked him if this is a hotel policy or a management policy. He stated it's his policy. I will no longer ever stay at one of these hotels again. It's a shame being I'm traveling and stay in hotels almost every weekend traveling with my sons hockey team. Peter refused to change channel and took the remote out of the lobby. I decided to not engage in any further conversation with Peter because his stance on politics was clear to me, and I can tell it's something he most likely takes to heart. I'm not that crazy to care enough but however I wanted to write this review so others know what there dealing with at this location.

- Robert (9/5): Utica hotel stay - Very accommodating to family stopping in to visit us at the hotel. Nice place to gather inside in main room and outside. Good location in that it was set back from a busy road, so quieter than being right on the main road. The workout room could have been cleaner. Dust under the fitness equipment was very noticeable when on floor doing floor workout (felt like I was breathing in the dust :/). Windows were pretty filmy in workout room (needed to be cleaned). And elliptical didn't hold settings - might need to be serviced.

Luckily we made a reservation because the rooms were sold out. Check-in was very easy. Malachi suggested a place for dinner and gave us a coupon for a drink. That was much appreciated after a long drive. Hotel was clean. Room had a small refrigerator and Wi-Fi was free. There was a fitness center and a pool. There were guest laundry facilities…..what a great thing for travelers. The breakfast was very hearty and good. Free parking.

Breakfast was good, the one quirk is they don't have oatmeal(they usually have packets but didn't have any one of the days we were there) The gym was the most lacking feature. It's a NON air conditioned room that's just big enough to hold a bike, treadmill, and elliptical(Which wasn't working). They advertise it's near a rail trail, but the section we walked near the locks was REALLY isolated, definitely not somewhere to go alone.

- Lisa (10/5): Great stay, friendly staff,n - We stayed for 3 nights, 2nd time staying here and had a great experience. The staff were notably friendly, so much that I'm writing this review. They were very friendly and helpful! The room was spacious, bed very comfortable and the food options in the morning were solid and typical of a HIE. It's next door to two restaurants so it's very convenient to walk to dinner, and there's an amazing bagel place (Willie's) just over the bridge for bigger breakfast options and lunch.

There weren't weren't pillows in the room for the sofa bed, when asked it was said the hotel had run out due to a full being fully booked. There was part of a pretzel from a previous guest under one of the tables moved for the sofa bed.
- NatParkLove (6/5): Some improvements needed - We stayed here for one night on a road trip, selecting it because we are IHG members. Overall the hotel was decent but there were a couple of things that could be improved. For one, when we checked in (around 5 or 6 PM on July 24), the gentleman working the front desk could not have cared less to help us, it seemed. He barely said a word to us and when we asked for his recommendation for dinner, he said “Well most people just eat at one of the restaurants out front.” Ok, but as you are presumably a local, I’d like to hear what YOU recommend. Secondly, unless you’re a Diamond Club member or drive an EV, you are relegated to parking behind the building or at one of the few spots on the side if you’re lucky. I completely support having EV parking, but it literally takes up the entire front parking lot along with a few spaces for Diamond members. We’re talking about 20 EV spots. I saw two EV vehicles charging while we were there. They could easily cut those in half or have some behind the building as well.

He quickly accommodated our request for a first floor room, provided us with snacks, and thanked us for our business. Housekeeping provided us with extra bath towels immediately and another staff member kindly greeted my elderly mom and held the door open for her while she used her walker to get into the hotel. The service level at this hotel far surpasses other hotels in the area. We will be repeat customers. The hotel backs to a lovely park on the Erie River and many people were enjoying a walk in the early evening. The highway exit is just down the road. Many dining options await travelers. Stay at this hotel.

Bathroom vent had been broken for awhile leading to massive peeling and swelling on bathroom door and elsewhere, as well as clearly painted over mold spots. When my kid took a shower the hotel room windows fogged up. Breakfast was lacking and bagels were REALLY stale. The bedroom windows didn’t have heavy curtains, only sheer, so all the light outside couldn’t be blacked out at night.

The drapes do not close so in the part where you're actually near Sunshine coming on through those windows if you're sleeping it just doesn't make sense that the drapes don't close the ones that they have are very sheer and thin.

The room looked clean at first glance, but the bathroom was pretty dirty which made us question the cleanliness of everything else. There were splatters on the wall and ceiling. There was a chunky substance on the shower curtain, residue on the shower soaps, and hairsin the tub and ceiling.

- PJU75 (8/5): Good stay. - I stayed here because I wanted to visit the Turning Stone Casino and visit a few breweries in the area. Off topic, if you are going to visit the breweries, keep in mind that some are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. My visit started off great when I called the hotel the morning when I was going to check-in. I spoke with Peter who made my room preference would be taken care of when I arrived. When I arrived, Peter was still on duty and remembered me. He is very friendly and professional, and did a great job of explaining everything to me. Below, I used pros and cons to review my stay. Pros 1) Very accessible to the NYS Thruway. 2) Even though I didn’t stop at any of the places, there are restaurants, retail and gas stations surrounding the hotel. 3) Room was clean and well-stocked. 4) The points/cash rate was fair. 5) Very spacious breakfast sitting area. Cons 1) While clean, the hotel does show signs of wear, like chipped paint, faded paint and such. 2) The exercise room did have hand sanitizer, but no wipes which are needed to wipe down the equipment. The television was inoperable, and there is no clock in the room.

- Deborah (4/5): - The property itself was very clean, the staff at the front desk were very nice, BUT there was a middle school aged sports team staying on our floor who were very loud and inconsiderate. We had to ask them several times to please be quiet. The poor woman at the front desk had to come up twice and another guest called the police and they were still ignoring all of this until well after 11pm. It was very rude and we are very tired today.
