Guest Reviews
- Bryan (10/5): - Very relaxing and very accommodating
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Choon Eng (10/5): Super UNESCO location, well done - My first experience at a UNESCO property and I lived it! Service was superb and the weather was a wow.
- S.R. (10/5): - Comfortable room with garden views. Nice and clean room.
- Athikom (8/5): Nice place in Luang PraBang - Nice place to stay. Good location; near might market street which is in the city center. It also has spa & massage.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Brad (8/5): - Loved the uniqueness of the property and the air conditioning was excellent, on a quiet street a short walking distance from everything
- eric (8/5): nu laohome - leuk hotel goede buurt leuke staff echt aanrader kan niets meer wensen
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very cute. In the old town without being too mixed in with traffic and other hotels. Breakfast on the mekong every day.
- Sam (10/5): Comfortable Accommodation - Mylaohome is a nice guesthouse for our group of friends. We like the big and clean rooms that are provided to us. It's conveniently located near the Mekong River, night market, and many places of interest in Luang Prabang
- Drew (10/5): Nice place great staff - The staff are very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the location as it was close to everything. The rooms are large. The only issue is bad plumbing in my room. Shower tray was almost full by then end of my shower and the sink trap was broken. I would stay again here since everyone was so nice and friendly.
- Melissa (10/5): Nice stay at Mylaohome - Mylaohome is in a great location near the night market and behind Joma. Check in was simple and the folks at reception were always friendly. The room was a good size and the AC was working well. It was super convenient having a salon onsite and the ladies did a great job. My only feedback is that the mattress could've been firmer.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Location - Convenient location and quiet environment
- Verified traveler (6/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Marie-Louise (10/5): Loved it! - Loved it! Beautiful hotel and perfect location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will be back!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Uncleaned room, dirty bed sheets and see some dirty spots.
- YOON HONG (10/5): -
- Maying (10/5): 5 star - The hotel was very clean and comfy. The Luang Prabang Night Market was walking distance. The staff was very nice. Free massage depending on which room was book. Love the area because it was quite at night and safe.
- Tae Hyun (10/5): -
- Vicki (8/5): Highly Recommend - Absolutely no complaints. The staff were friendly, the room was big, clean and comfortable. The bathroom is huge! We liked the location, very close to the centre and all services near by.
- Ayu (8/5): Unique design+ good location - Cons: Nearby with Night market and Mekong river. Also, nearby with Halal food which is around 4min walking distance.
Cons: The package offered from the hotel quite expensive compared to the agent nearby with the hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very good. Clean and convenient.
- Hans (10/5): Nice hotel in Lao style - Hotel looks very nice in Lao style. The hotel has many buildings along a small street.
Rooms are clean and big. Breakfast is fine. Very standard but good.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Hotel is close located by the night market and on walk distance from all the temples and highlights of the old city center.
- claudia (4/5): Close to town - The room they gave us first not very good. Shower was on top of toilet. They moved us to a better room. Breakfast is terrible outside I a 100 degree weather. Food was not good
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was too dim and bathroom condition wasn’t good enough. There was no separated shower room. Good location nearby the post office. (Btw, DO NOT rent a bicycle from the guesthouse next to the hotel. Very rude and bad command of english)
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Patrick (8/5): Great room for the price - Decent room, only major complaint was the bed was very squeaky and being that we were on our honeymoon was a bit annoying.
- Verified traveler (8/5):
Good English speaking staffs and convenient location near Mekong river!
- Lauren (8/5): Pleasurable Spot - Myloahome was a pleasurable spot. Great location in Luang Prabang, clean, and friendly spot. I would recommend it to a friend.
- King Lud (8/5): A nice hotel close to where you want to be. - We didn't spend a lot of time in our room but found it comfortable and clean. For the money we paid it was great value. Close to the Mekong, close to the night market. Luang Prabang is a beautiful and relaxed town and Mylaohome fit into it quite well. The complimentary breakfast was adequate but unexciting. There are many, many marvellous restaurants quite close to the hotel. We booked a trek from a Hmong village to the waterfalls through the hotel and it was a wonderful experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good Hotel - Good location in city center, clean room and good condition
- Verified traveler (4/5): A hostel, not a hotel. Very disappointing. - Completely overpriced, cleaning and facilities below average, unhelpful staff. I asked to change rooms (my first room in building H had a group of roosters waking up the whole neighborhood at 4am) and because it was the busy season and I booked for 7 nights, I stayed in three different ones including two 'deluxe rooms'. All of them could do with a good cleaning, especially the bathroom. Sheets were suspicious and towels were actually dirty - I had to ask twice to get these changed (lipstick and other stains you don't want to know). None of the rooms has any windows - they have wooden shutters and curtains but no actual glass window which means no natural light, freezing during the night, boiling during the day and you get all the noise and smell (burning wood) from outside. The buffet breakfast is basic and on the cheap side - don't expect pastries or a menu to order from. It's meant to be served until 10am though when I arrived after 8.30am on two occasions, there wasn't much left. Asking for more food only got me some steamed rice, after waiting for 20mins. The staff at reception look like they couldn't be bothered about anything. I wanted to visit something which was promoted by their hotel - it took 2 days and 5 requests for them to dial the number and get the information I needed. Don't stay there!
- Leong (6/5): Hotel close to tourist attraction - Many ants in room, aircon in need of servicing, a little pricy. But on the good side, it's near to night market and Mekong river. Also right at doorstep to the morning offering to the monks.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just OK - For the price point you should do better. The bathroom smelt like sewage and the couch was super dirty. Time to reinvest and make it more comfortable. Liked
Location and staff was responsive. Breakfast left a lot to be desired too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good
- Mali (4/5): Good location but the room quite old - I think they have many building in there but unlucky we got the room in the oldest building my room number was E9 that had problem with toilet flushing , Internet wifi was very slow nearly no signal and the cleanliness of the bed was so terrible .The good thing of this hotel just about the location that nearby everything.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - This is a very well placed and friendly establishment with comfortable rooms on the whole. Some cheaper downstairs rooms are a little too cosy.
- Amazing town (8/5): Laung Prabang beauty - Very clean and great breakfast!
Great stay!!.....nothing else but fun place...
- Jo (6/5): Good Location BUT Noisy - MyLaoHome is excellently located in a lovely lane in central Luang Prabang. A short walk to the shops, markets and riverside. The check in boys just do their job - they are not particularly friendly or helpful. Unfortunately our room was very noisy both from people walking in the rooms above and workers outside doing renovations. Okay the renovation work won't last forever, but the hotel gave no consideration to guests by allowing this work to start early morning and continue through the entire weekend. However, the noise from people walking around their room above us was much worse - it really sounded like a herd of elephants. It woke us in the mornings and kept us up at night. We stayed in a family room for 4 nights. It was quite spacious and reasonably clean. Finally the breakfast, which was pretty average. There's some bread and a toaster you can help yourself to plus some bad stewed coffee, every morning just enough left for a small cup - it was never refreshed. Then you choose other food by circling options on a small piece of paper with a pencil. These were "okay". In the weekend there's a buffet. It's awful! Cold meat left out etc. We chose to eat elsewhere.
- Jeanine (10/5): Great room, staff was very helpful, loved it! - The location was great, hotel staff helped us plan out activities for our short stay in Laos and gave us great recommendations.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location and big comfy rooms - Great location. Right near the night market. Nice quiet street and good air con in the rooms.
Staff are friendly and very good value.
- Loh (8/5): Friendly & helpful staffs and good location - My friends and I stayed for 2 night here. We are satisfied with the friendly and helpful staffs here. Wifi is good and easy to access. In the additional, the location is good and the modern family room for us(4 pax) is clean and comfortable. Such a perfect guesthouse for traveller. High recommended.
- Alacey (8/5): Good location - but watch your belongings - Great location enjoyed our time for Pi Mai Lao. Downside I left my watch in the room it was not an expensive one but it ended up missing so if you stay make sure you lock your belongings.
- Robin (6/5): This is just a guesthouse - don't be fooled! - This should not be called a HOTEL!!! This is a guesthouse! It is way too expensive for what it is and slapping the word hotel at the end does not make it a Hotel! Go to one of the many guesthouses for far less money. I was in a room with no window access other than the neighbors wall. The neighbor was so loud the night before I had to leave at 5:30am to catch my flight that I could not sleep and had a terrible headache from the screeching of some type of machinery that went on until 11pm. They should spray outside of the windows for mosquitos or give mosquito nets in the room. The breakfast was fine for meat eaters, no options other than toast and fruit for vegans (no surprise there). Very disappointed in the "Hotel" name giving the impression of something it is not.
- Aldo from Canad (8/5): Nice little hotel bit tough to locate. - Very nice little hotel situated in an alley off the main road. The staff are very friendly and helpful and speak fluent english. I had trouble finding the hotel and had to stop at a travel agent to ask for directions. The rooms are basic but clean and complete with all the necessary amenities. The cafe downstairs is also quite nice and there is a small gym tucked beside it to work off all the extra weight from the lovely Laos food.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Expensive guesthouse
- Kelsey (8/5): Clean & quiet. - We stayed at new daraphet only two nights but we enjoyed our stay there. Rooms are large and clean. The only complaint we'd have would be that the pillows were too hard for our liking. Otherwise everything else was fine. Breakfast is buffet style and eggs are made ready to order. It keep us going until lunch. We also rented a motor bike one day through their sister company right next door, it was great. Also the location was pretty great, just a little off the busy main strip. I'd definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Stay - Great location, friendly staff. Room was a little older, but it is located in the UNESCO Heritage district so it was an old remodeled building --it has to be.
- Ignacio (10/5): Verá Nice hotel in Luang Prabang - Excellent location, walking distance from town and night market.
Staff very helpful and gentile.
I would certainly return to this hotel.
- Mimi (10/5): Outstanding hotel and great location - Very enjoyable stay in a great location. My room including breakfast which was nice and transportation to the airport. The room was large, the bed comfortable, air con and hot water. Overall, a very nice stay which I would highly recommend.
- Ataur (10/5): Very nice hotel by the river Mekong & close to the - A very good experience.Very close to the town centre & all amenities. All the staff & management very helpful & obliging.A great stay
- Shehana (8/5): Fantastic service - I stayed 3 nights and so far was the best place during my holiday in South east Asia. The only issue I had was wifi in the room wasnt working. Th staff was really nice and friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Daraphet? You bet!!! - I will never bother looking for another place to stay in Luang Prabang, and I do intend on returning. The staff was fantastic, the location was perfect, the hotel has a quaint feel to it that made us want to stay longer. Without asking, our room was cleaned each night, breakfast was included each morning, and they will help you set up everything you need from tours to laundry service. They were wonderful even by Laos people's high standards!
- Verified traveler (10/5): very good location - cute teak hotel....excelente location and charming
top for the price
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good value for money. - Hotel is good value for money. Air conditioning does not work too well.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Could be better value for money - There's loads of guest houses in Luang Prabang. On the street where Daraphet is, there are other guest houses offering rooms of about half the rate I paid for (some even with a balcony). In addition, my booking said mine would have a king bed and a twin bed. All I had was a king. Some German girls had the same issue (booking said theirs would have a balcony) so they had to spend a lot of time at check-in just sorting this out. The bathroom was also rather outdated and musty (there is an exhaust fan I had to leave on all day to counter that). Locality of the hotel is fantastic. Near the river and the main sights in the city such as the night market and the museum.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Needs to pay attention to detail - The hotel has a nice location, room was clean enough. Shower was strange without a stall. Front staff was not too helpful, never did replace the hot pot which had a frayed. Rod Nd some type of deposit coating the inside.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Don't expect a hotel - This is not a hotel, it's a fairly pricey hostel. Very hard mattress, bizarre shower, awful breakfast. You can find much better places to stay in Luang Prabang for this price range.
