Elise (10/5): Loved This Hotel - The hotel environment was clean and welcoming. My room was clean, well-stocked, and very comfortable. The staff members were wonderful. The woman at the front desk was cheerful and attentive. The house cleaning staff acknowledged me every time I saw them in the hall. The breakfast staff were also very attentive. The woman restocking the food made sure to tell everyone to let her know if they need anything at all and even offered me a paper bag to take things with us. The breakfast contained a large variety of food and drinks, and the hot foods rotated daily. I highly recommend staying at this hotel.

I was told I had to contact booking.com to cancel and receive a refund, and that the front desk would approve the request from booking.com. I never received that approval and I have called the hotel and was told they would look into it and the manager would call me back. It has been 4 days and no call back. Yes it was my mistake to book on the wrong day, but I followed the advice of the hotel front desk and so far no refund or reply to my follow up calls.

Please check your pool levels for chlorine and bacteria issues at the address of: 410 New Goff Mountain Rd, Cross Lanes, WV 25313 Otherwise, the hotel had a great breakfast and the room was clean. That doesn't make up for the fact that I am still suffering from a pool reaction and had to go to the doctor.
Chuck (10/5): - Very nice property, clean well maintained. It is a bit remote and it was a little difficult to locate. If possible, since it sets well off the main road, a sign at the property driveway entrance would be a significant help for all new guest to more easily find the property.

Amy (6/5): Not the best; not the worst - The staff was great. Breakfast was wonderful. The hotel room door would stick and had to be slammed to close. Then there was a 1-2” gap, where the hallway could be seen. The shower wall’s tile had black mildew in the grout, and the grout in the tile floor was dirty with white powder in spots. The biggest concern was the stress fractures in the toilet bowl. We were afraid it was going to break while being used. I would suggest better water pressure with the shower head and raising the shower head. It’s not high enough for anyone over 5’8. A nice hand-held might be better. The beds were hard, but clean. The toom was very clean. The a/c worked wonderfully and wasn’t loud and annoying. Unfortunately, I didn’t sleep well, because everytime someone had to slam their door, which I’m assuming would stick like ours did, I would wake up. I loved the design of the lobby and table area. One last thing, the 3rd floor hallway was stiflingly humid. It was horrible, but it smelled clean. It wasn’t the best Holiday Inn I’ve been to, but it wasn’t the worst either. I’d stay here again in a pinch.

TarHeelTravelers3 (10/5): Overnight stop in renovated hotel - Charleston, WV is about the halfway point on a multi state drive I make a couple times a year. We look for clean, comfortable, and affordable hotels, and easy access to the hwy for an overnight stop. A bit of a challenge in this area in our experience. This hotel’s Cross Lanes WV location is perfect for my Southbound route. Gas stations and adequate restaurants nearby (good enough for a travel night e.g. Cracker Barrel or Bob Evans). We opted for takeout from nearby Cracker Barrel. I have stayed in this hotel several times over the last several years. This stay was the first after they completed their renovation. They’ve done a nice job. Hotel feels fresh. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast was better than average for this tier of hotel. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. We got exactly what we needed from this stop. This will be our go to option when stopping in this area. I used my IHG app to make the reservation. Glad I did as the hotel seemed full on a week night. My 5 out of 5 is in the context of this tier of travel hotel.
