• Joseph (10/5): Great value if you are looking to stay in the Homestead area. - It is a beautiful facility and great value for money. I was participating in a conference in the adjacent hotel and after discussing their experiences it is clear this hotel was the better choice. It’s also very close to many restaurants. The elevator is hydraulic, so super slow. For a 5 story building a MRL elevator would have been a better choice. It did not help that one of the two elevators was malfunctioning and taken out of service, but I understand those things happen.

The room was stuffy, the shower head needed calcium lime and rust cleaner, the pressure was low. The toilet paper holder was broken. The toilet paper kept falling it wasn't screwed in and the toilet paper kept falling on the floor, the ice machine didn't work, the Sunday breakfast was not good and they ran out of orange juice.

• Julie (6/5): I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely have given them a five star rating if it weren’t for the poor upkeep - Wonderful location! I wanted to stay close to my daughter, but also close to Kennywood Park and several other locations that I planned on visiting with my daughters for Christmas. One of my daughters lives about 45 minutes away and was a little concerned about me staying in Homestead. However, the Waterfront is an excellent area in this not so great town. I was thrilled with the close proximity of the Waterfront plaza, the AMC movie theater and the charming little footbridge that is about a five minute walk from the hotel that takes you over top of the busy street and straight into the Waterfront plaza. I am excited to stay there again for this reason and especially because one of my favorite places to visit in the summertime is Sandcastle Park, which is literally right around the corner. They offered a very good, hot breakfast that ran until 10 AM and the room was very spacious and clean. I also chose this hotel because they are pet friendly and they were very accommodating to me and my two little dogs by putting us on the first floor near a back door that was very convenient for walking them. I also noticed that, unlike most hotels that have very thin walls, this one seemed to be built in a fashion that blocked out a lot of the noise coming from inside of the rooms. My dogs are not terribly yappy but, being little dogs, they do bark occasionally and when I was outside of the room, I could not hear them at all. The fact that they do not offer a shuttle service was disappointing. However, the biggest complaint that I have is this: Early in my stay, I received a text message from the hotel saying that I could text them there if I needed anything during my stay. I sent several texts to ask questions and someone named Heidi responded fairly promptly which was convenient but on the last full day of my stay, she sent me a text asking me to rate my stay. I gave a five star review and she thanked me and told me to continue to text if I needed anything. A couple of hours later I used the pool, which is usually my favorite part of staying in any hotel. I noticed right away, entering the room that the pool water was cloudy and the room itself was cold. I got in anyway. The pool water was also very cold. Then, while I was in the pool, I noticed that the light inside the pool was illuminating what appeared to be very, very dirty water. I sent her a text right away with these concerns, stating that someone should check to see if the filter was functioning. I got ghosted.

• Cathy (10/5): Nice place to stay when visiting the Steel Valley area. - Proximity to the restaurants and stores we planned to visit. Enjoyed our room- beds were comfortable. Although there was a good variety of foods for breakfast, my son has celiac disease and there were no gluten free cereal options, breads, etc. that we were aware of. No staff visible in the breakfast area to ask about potential options. Also, the toilet in the room is extremely low.
• Marni (4/5): - Most of the staff were very friendly and kind. The only issue with staff was halfway my own fault. I accidentally left my Nintendo switch 2 in my room. I called the hotel as soon as I realized after we had checked out. We checked out around 11 and I believe I called around 3 or 4 that day. A man at the front desk answered. He said he’d check the lost and found and then didn’t find anything. He said he’d send his houseman up to check the room and I could call back in about 30 minutes to check back in. Which I did, and he said nothing was found. He said I could call in the next day and ask to speak to housekeeping if I wanted. He didn’t take my information. And that was that. So on the basis of that experience alone, I can’t recommend this place. I know it’s my fault for forgetting the switch but you want to know that a hotel isn’t going to just steal your things if something happens to get left behind. Beyond that we had several problems with our bathroom. The sink didn’t drain properly. The toilet wobbled and moved around. There was no fan in the bathroom. It’s a fine hotel if you have to stay there. But it’s not worth the price and it sounds like some of the staff have sticky fingers- whether it’s the maid service or the front desk, I couldn’t tell you. But the front desk guy really didn’t seem to be concerned.

Third room (Room 323) carpet was stained, the door looked likes someone tried to break in and the drain pipe vent cover was missing in the shower that had black mold in it. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY WE PAID TO STAY THERE!!! And I am a Hilton member!

Mediocre: The breakfast selection was small and the food not great, but it was included. Bad: The first room had the door pulled out of the top hinge so it was very difficult to open and close and the toilet paper holder was pulled out of the wall. The second room was better, but the door was still hard to open/close and the toilet paper holder leaned downwards, which meant the roll would fall off when moved. This room had a constant chemical smell, the carpet didn't look vacuumed, and the bathroom was pretty small given the space elsewhere. The housekeeper left the door ajar after cleaning, which meant anyone could have walked in and stolen our items - luckily that didn't happen when we came back about 6 hours later. The air conditioning was not working in the lobby, dining area, and hallways due to a failed part.

• Kathy (8/5): Very nice stay with a few disappointments! - The room is a good size, ac works great, nice having a microwave and refrig in the room, nice having breakfast each morning, and staff is very friendly. We are disappointed in our room. (1) I asked for handicapped accessible and there is nothing but a safety bar in the tub. Most of the time at hotels, it means a walk in shower. It is extremely difficult to climb in and out of tubs as an older person, even with a safety bar. (2) Also, the toilet is very low and there is no safety bar on the wall to help you get up and down. I literally have to bring my walker into the bathroom to assist me getting up and down. The toilet paper holder looks like it's ready to fall off the wall. And the wall is very dirty. (3) Our view out the window is a big wall, no view of the pretty river. I was sick today and spent most of the day in my room, staring at a wall! So sad!
• John (10/5): vacation - Everything was good
• Rebecca (10/5): - I loved how close to Kennywood and Sandcastle we were. It was also only a 15–20-minute drive to downtown Pittsburgh to do the aviary. Overall great stay in a convenient location.
• John (10/5): Close to Everything - Excellent hotel close to Kennywood, Sandcastle, variety of restaurants, and terrific views.
• Sandra (6/5): - I have stayed here a number of times over the years. Cleanliness, lack of service did not meet expectations. Sticker on mirror stated cleaning every other day. In a 5 night stay, the bathroom was not cleaned, sheets were not changed.
• Davone (10/5): - The people there was amazing and helped a lot and I really enjoyed myself for the weekend! Got to see a movie go to Dave and busters and also go to Barnes and nobles which was awesome! Everything was walking distance and I really liked it! I’ll definitely recommend you guys again!
• Mindy (5/5): It was a clean environment but I wouldn’t stay there again - The area was nice! And the breakfast staff was pleasant and helpful The complimentary coffee was cold and old. The pool was cloudy and smelled funny and our tv service didn’t work in our room.
• Nancy (6/5): - Room was cool but the rest of the hotel was too hot. We went over July 4th weekend and it was cooler outside than it was in the lobby and hallways. Ice machines didn’t work on all the floors
