Here’s a more polished and natural version of your review while keeping the criticism fair and credible: We were a bit surprised upon arrival that no member of staff accompanied us to our room or provided any initial guidance about the hotel facilities unless we specifically asked. The room itself felt rather rustic, and unfortunately there was no temperature control available. It became very warm during the night, and with limited ventilation the room felt somewhat stuffy and uncomfortable. We were also disappointed by the wording regarding the spa facilities. The hotel mentions offering access to its “unique spa,” which gave the impression that pool access was included for guests, whereas we later discovered this required an additional fee. We found this a little misleading and feel the information should be made clearer upfront.

Had to wait 15 minutes at Bar to be served, not enough staff on most days We stayed in a room which was over £800.00 for 3 nights including breakfast. Room is looking tired all the wood paneling needs varnishing,their has been a water leak in the celing you could see all the water mark and were it had gone black on the wood celing. Windows draughty. The last time we stayed the room was better.

The building his grand and well decorated not shabby some good contemporary decor with good seating areas to get away, the garden is very nice, plenty of space and flowers, safe for children and elderly, it has a peaceful atmosphere. The Bar area is good, different style has a good vibe but needs better seating. the dinning area is very good, very comfortable low noise level.The Menu is Very good the presentation and quality is excellent,however personally it was under seasoned to my taste. Not really happy with the London Price of the menu, but I guess they must have many happy Londoners coming to stay. Its not good value for what it is trying to do, The service in these areas was good, the staff seemed stretched, more dedicated staff needed or better trained would improve the overhaul experience. In general This four star hotel personally is more a three star as it rests on its historic foundations not on its service, but given all that it was a very pleasant expensive stay for one night and dinner. Not a lot I can say here, overall it was good, for me it did feel a little over priced for dinner, the wine wasn't good for the price, and waiting 25 mins for an aperitif at our table was too long but with one bar/waiter person its not surprising. Its not a place I shall return to, It didn't feel as grand as the hotel looks, and Four star Hotels should make you want to return. They should be special places with great dedicated staff, who also love to serve and love their Hotel, some get it others don't.

- 309natashab (4/5): Disappointing afternoon tea - I attended a pre booked afternoon tea with a very large group 29 in total. First time visiting the venue but I was very disappointed with the afternoon tea, the only savoury options were finger sandwiches everything else was sweet it was too much, no labels for the sandwiches which were set out on a random table in the room and not on an afternoon tea style set up like the sweet items. I had to constantly try and find someone for a drinks top up, for a group this large someone should be in the room when the service is taking place. It's not great when guests have to keep trying to find someone to top up drinks or ask for extras. Overall very disappointing, £25 for cakes I could buy in the shop and some finger sandwiches and lacking service nothing special I'm afraid.
- Charlotte (5/5): not worth the crazy price for the hotel or the restaurant - look elsewhere if you are spending ££ - The building, grounds and rooms are beautiful. Bed very comfy and lots of history to learn about. There's a cute cat and the staff are in the main very lovely. This is kind of a big list and were the hotel cheaper perhaps I wouldn't bother but when you're paying £400 for each room per a night you expect better. The room itself whilst beautiful was incredibly dusty, the windows were not safe for children and its was so hot in the rooms (this day was 22 degrees but the heaters were fully on). We asked them to switch off but this never happened. There wasn't a fridge in the room so we had nowhere to store our baby's milk and had to keep going down to the kitchen to ask for it. We had advised it was a big birthday stay but there was no mention of this with a small gesture on arrival. We had an elderly relative and two small children with us but there wasn't a parking spot to be found, we were advised this was due to an event taking place with many external attendees. We're paying guests, there should at least be reserved parking. No one offered to help with bags even though we mentioned the less mobile guest and the baby etc. Now the restaurant. We booked this for the birthday celebration and there was again, no mention of this. The staff were incredibly inattentive and took 45 mins from seating us to take our order. We counted 3 serving staff at that time and we were the only ones there. Why would it take so long to take our orders? They were off giggling and messing around, not what I expect from a restaurant of this level. Much of our order was incorrect and three of us ordered steak which was inedible (a joke for £40 per meal!), the triple cooked chips were terrible and hard and the chocolate mousses tasted mainly of sea salt! If I were Glyn Purnell I would be incredibly embarrassed at that - a kitchen led by a Michelin star chef putting out food like that is not something to be proud of. All in all, it is not worth the crazy price for the hotel or the restaurant and I'd advise to look elsewhere if you are spending that level of money.
- Cathina (10/5): Glorious hotel for a special occasion - Suite was fantastic, very comfortable and warm. Nice touches like an extension lead, kettle and coffee maker. Staff super friendly. Grounds were stunning. Good breakfast. Comms with the hotel before we arrived was excellent. Spa next door is very convenient and the changing facilities are super. Restaurant appears 'functional' with tables more like a canteen than a restaurant for a hotel like this. It lets the restaurant down. Menu is limited and expensive and whilst the majority of the food was good, some wasn't as good (but this was rectified without question on the bill). Spa next door is nice but over-priced. We were hoping to relax with a cup of tea, but no drinks available. Our suite was glorious, but not a single hook on which to hang a coat or dress. Just one hook in the bathroom which was nowhere near the shower. Lovely Molton Brown toiletries but only one teeny tiny bottle of each (not enough for two people). Tea bags were not replenished after first night. The double-deluxe room had hand-cream in the in-shower dispenser which was mistaken for hair conditioner. A small fridge in the room would have been good. These are not criticisms, but something for the hotel to consider.

- Melinda (4/5): Beautiful building but not a spa , it’s close on weekends to hotel guests and the spa staff bullied the young lady who b - Beautiful building absolutely stunning views The staff were very hard face very rarely saw anyone to assist you, we booked a weekend only to be told the spa facilities wasn’t opened to the hotel guest at the weekend which should be stated in the booking you have to book weeks in advance for a massage and absolutely disgusted on how I saw three spa ladies treat one of the ladies that was so helpful to us, I can’t remember the ladies name but it started with B and she was from Australia or new Zealand very young pretty and can see she’s good at her job, she booked me and my partner in for a 50 min massage and got ganged up on by another three ladies saying she overbooked us and was very rude about her to me and my partner which we found to be unprofessional, I hope that young lady understood that jealousy in the work force is something that she does not have to tolerate especially from a few old ladies who believe they’re are in a more senior position they should be the one s to guide you teach you not be talking about staff behind their back especially to guest made our stay uncomfortable we stayed in the room or went for drives I admit I smoked out of the window and I apologised, after speaking the manager she was nice we just continued our stay and ordered room service,,, the room are beautiful but the cobwebs above the bed and fact you have no control over the heating you have to call to even turn the temperature on or up or off lol ridiculous,, I have stayed in grade listed building before but the building is fine the fact that we felt like we wasn’t ment to be there, and that breakfast guy Mario or something what a farce in the morning he’s an absolute headache he’s very flustered and confused in the morning was insisting on making the coffees when it came to me and partner but with other guest no anyway I’m an influencer who travels around and I’ve evidenced a lot on my tik tok and IG I wouldn’t recommend this place and I think they should be more clearer on the sites they use to get bookings that this an...
- Matthew (7/5): Lovely stay, just missing a little attention to detail - The room was very comfortable and the food was nice. The staff were great, very friendly and attentive. The shower was blocked and flooded the bathroom. Despite telling staff 4x over 2 days nothing was done, unclogged it myself the final night. At times staff on the bar and reception a little short staffed, in a busy summer would have been a disaster. They were running a Dr Who event, which is fine. But needed to set some car park spaces aside for guests of the hotel. Had to park away from the hotel. Guests should come first.

Our room was clean and had a great view, but the most importantly the service from the whole team, in particular Shabila was truly exceptional. Great way of serving cereals, fruit, yogurt, nuts and granola. Lounge areas are great. The whole ambience of the place is very special. The gardens are lovely. Some of the dishes were not available at dinner. Staff very apologetic and also embarrassed. Given a free bottle of champagne in compensation! Some facilities in the bedroom suite were not in place and some things not working. The staff reacted quickly and dealt with most of them. - Excursion732305 (2/5): Extremely poor all round! - Currently here. Got to be honest it’s Shocking!! Room is old and tired. Holes in the floor and windows rusted shut. At 6”3 my head is in shower head. Service in the bar/restaurant has got to be some of the worst I’ve ever experienced in my life. Same one person trying to run the bar and restaurant and failing miserably as I waited 20 mins without even so much as an acknowledgement or drink. Half the gym equipment is broken. First and last time I will stay here which is a shame as I’m the area a lot for business and this could have been a regular base!

- K817ZBbernadetted (8/5): Overall a great stay apart from rude receptionist !!! - We arrived yesterday at lunch time as we had booked in the spa , my welcome didn’t start very well as I found the lady on reception quite rude and abrupt! As explained we was a little earlier same the reply was you have to pay now , which I felt was quite rude I did say that to her , I asked her name she replied Anka !!! She did not explain how to get to the spa or nothing at all so my first impression wasn’t the best , but on returning at 3pm The total experience at check in was much better , and continued to be for the whole stay , the staff was much nicer than the first impression!!! We had a very nice clean and very quite room, dinner was delicious and so was breakfast , well done to rest of the team To young lad and the gentleman in the bar Was excellent at customer service ! I’m so glad I didn’t have to deal with anka At check out and was greeted by a friendly lady ! So overall a good time at wood Norton thank you to the rest of the team

The staff were friendly, with Andreea standing out for her exceptional service. She was polite and attentive, and she provided amazing service. She speaks many languages, which made communication even easier and more comfortable. If any issue arose, she clearly knew how to get the right help quickly. Based on this experience, we will definitely return.

- ceryss2014 (6/5): Not reslly 4 star - Staff are lovely. Pear Tree Mews, where we were put, is like a Travelodge though. We asked to move as the room was so hot and were put in the main building, which was better. It's a bit Fawlty Towers though - we wouldn't stay again. And if you reply to this, Wood Norton, please don't use AI. It's very obvious and suggests you don't care about the feedback you receive.
- Kathrynb7120 (10/5): Wonderful evening, fabulous hotel, amazing food! - We stayed for one night for an evening with the incredible chef Glynn Purnell, and we had the most fantastic time. From the minute we arrived the staff were so friendly and welcoming, in particular Shabila couldn't do enough for us. The hotel is set in stunning countryside and our room was light and airy with a really comfortable bed, we both slept like logs! But the 4 course meal by Glynn was the highlight - it was incredible. The monkfish was the most delicious thing I've ever eaten - until the dessert arrived!! It was a creme brulee with a blackberry sorbet - wow. The the lovely Glynn Purnell came out and did a Q&A session - I can honestly say he is the most genuine, funny and down to earth people you could wish to meet. He was very generous with his time and chatted to people one on one afterwards, and he gave us all a signed copy of his book, which was a real unexpected surprise and topped off a really wonderful evening, one we will never forget. Thank you Glynn! We will definitely be back to stay here and can't recommend the hotel, staff and ambience highly enough. Thank you Shabila! Kathryn and Ronnie Batchelor
- Jacqueline (10/5): - The room was lovely, no complaints, the view from the room was of beautiful countryside. Dinner was very good, although I'm not sure why they put raw pearl barley in the soup! Breakfast was okay, nothing to write home about.

- Sonya (5/5): A bit disappointing. - Comfortable, clean and nice decor. Breakfast good with friendly service. The TV didn't work very well and it wasn't made clear at the point of booking that the spa was not included in the price. It was also difficult accessing shampoo when using the bath because it was attached too high on the wall. We were disappointed with this 4 star hotel.

We loved the beauty and history of the buildings, the views are good, and the well kept gardens. And then there is the staff team, who was award winning. A particular shout out goes to Shabila who was friendly, helpful, personable and attentive. Thank you Shabila for making our stay so much better than we expected . Diana and Phil 🩵

- N4194QCjennifert (8/5): Wonderful hotel , grounds exceptional , breakfasts superb, quality of the food in the Restaurant unfortunately varies - Once again we enjoyed our stay, the hotel itself has a wonderful atmosphere, the rooms are spacious, very clean, although some of the furnishings are becoming a little tired , the staff are friendly, exceeding helpful whilst being professional. Breakfast is exceptional lots of choice and the cooked food is always piping hot. Unfortunately the food in the Restaurant was not as good as last time , the courses which were meant to be hot were luke warm to say the least we didn't complain because we didn't want to make a fuss and we were not trying to get a refund like many people try to do. We gave a score of good because the quality of the restaurant food wasn’t up to scratch.
- Z9246WAemmac (4/5): Very dissapointing will not be returning - Overpriced, mediocre, poor service, very dissapointing. I called the hotel directly to make sure we had a room in the main house not the annex I specifically asked for a walk in shower. I booked dinner for both nights. I also booked the spa which is an additional cost of £40, we arrived there at midday to be told it was closing at 3pm so a very expensive swim. We checked into our room to find it was not the room we booked we had obviously been moved to accomodate the wedding party. We ate in the resaurant on the first night which was good but the drinks are overpriced £14 for a glass of mediocre wine. The 2nd night we were told the restaurant was full and could not accomodate us even though I had booked. The bar menu was off because of the wedding. If they cannot cope with a wedding and general guests they should close the hotel to the public to accomodate the wedding. All in all very dissapointing and checked out a night only and we wernt the only ones!

- Rosie (4/5): Didn't live up to expectations. - Lovely original house, and beautifully maintained gardens. Lots of the accommodation is in the old mews, which is not connected to the main building - not nice in the rain. Our room was incredibly dark as there was only one window in it with a heavy net curtain to block out the view of the BBC training centre next door. Even on a sunny day you had to have the lights on. The room was in need of modernising. The window didn't work properly and needed a good clean and paint, the bathrooms were old fashioned and had a fixed shower head which you needed to be under 5'8" to fit under. No room service, and all a bit cheap feeling. The bar was the weirdest room - very brightly lit, with wallpaper that had huge garish fish on it! You had to wait for the bar staff to turn up, and it was a very uninviting place to be. The rest of the hotel was very dark. It didn't feel loved , the staff were a bit hit and miss. Compared to other hotels we have stayed in, we were left feeling rather underwhelmed and disappointed. It wouldn't be a place we would return to.
- U1518SQrosemaryb (4/5): Disappointing. - We queued for half an hour to check in. We thought we were staying in an Country House Hotel but we ended up in the very average Annexe!! Not great - glad it wasn't raining otherwise we would have got very wet getting into the Country House bit. Very tired decor and furniture not unlike IKEA, extension leads supplied as power points were poorly placed, wifi unreliable, no bed making service the first day - was told that beds weren't made after the first night - bizarre. There was a wedding..........we were obviously not a priority and we weren't the only disgruntled non wedding guests. Shortage of staff seemed evident. Dinner was very good (the only saving grace) but served in a dining room with strange decor and tables that were reminiscent of a Little Chef! Good selection at breakfast although very little fresh fruit. Staff were friendly but there really didn't seem to be enough of them. Poor value for money, drinks very expensive. We won't be going back!

- Road51019314032 (10/5): A charming high-quality country house Hotel - We had only had lunch here many years ago which left us with a very pleasant memory and in consequence we booked for dinner and a one night stay to celebrate our 57th wedding anniversary. We were a little apprehensive to know how the establishment might have changed in the interim period but we need not have concerned ourselves as everything about our stay was excellent and memorable. The building is steeped in history. and has been very well maintained. The accommodation is clean and very well furnished whilst displaying superb quality architecture throughout. The ambience is that of a very good quality country house Hotel with charm, character and modern service standards. We booked a suite which was magnificently appointed and very commodious with uninterrupted views over the formal Gardens to Bredon Hill beyond. Our dinner was excellent in every respect and service impeccable. The breakfast was equally as impressive with a magnificent buffet and additional cooked breakfast menu. The gardens and grounds are a delight and very well maintained – providing a charming compliment for guests to enjoy. Whilst expensive – we enjoyed our stay very much indeed and left happy with every intention of returning.

Staff were very attentive and even re-arranged the seating to enable my husband who is a wheelchair user to get a better view. Would definitely recommend on all counts price, surroundings, atmosphere, standard of food and staff.

A special mention to Andreea, who served us she was very friendly, attentive, and always smiling. Her positive attitude really made us feel comfortable and added to the whole experience. We truly appreciated her service and will definitely be coming back!

It was a very relaxing experience and the interior design of the main building really contributed to that. We stayed in Pear Tree Mews which was comfortable but some of the finer details could have been better for a premium hotel. Some decor was tired and didn’t look well cared for and the television was clearly very old.
- 2grahamb (4/5): What a disappointment - Oh dear - What a disappointment. Having been seduced by what can only be inaccurate photographs, upon check-in we were dispatched to a previously never mentioned "annex" - Think Holiday Inn Express - complete with carpet stains, chipped furniture and a brick wall for an outlook. So one by one:- 1) We decided we would check in at 15.30. Big mistake. 14 people in front of us and (my pet peeve) just ONE person on the check-in desk (who was also taking telephone calls) 2) Warning - They do NOT accept American Express. I've travelled extensively and this has to be the only hotel that does not accept the card (even Holiday Inn Express does). 3) Heart sank when told we were in Pear Tree Mews (annex) and that there were plenty of signs to direct us - nope - just one sign. We eventually managed to get in via the fire escape door. 4) Room - requested twin beds and received - a double! 5) Limited power sockets (bedroom lights were round-pin). Eventually found an extension lead which wasn't long enough to reach the bedside table. 6) Tired stained carpets, chipped IKEA style furniture, tired bathroom fixtures, no toiletries, no fridge, tinned water AND nothing like the photographs. We had wanted to enjoy a luxurious stay away from home and frankly wished that we had remained there.

Curtins not clean, room very plain and old fashioned. Window unable to properly open or close. Noise in early morning due to truck reversing. Staff ok but not impressive.

- yojoturner (10/5): A fabulous break away with friends - I visited with my 3 girlfriends last weekend and we had such a fabulous stay. The location is great and the building is a beautiful mix of traditional and quirky style, with wonderful gardens to walk around. We had a fabulous meal in the restaurant on the Friday evening of our stay and the food was outstanding. We got chatting to our lovely friendly waitress (Lana) and we mentioned that we were away together to celebrate our friend completing her cancer treatment and getting the all-clear. She returned to our table with the bottle of wine we had ordered with our meal and told us that the wine was a gift from the hotel to celebrate our good news. Honestly, we were all so emotional; what a lovely thing to do, it really did make our weekend! …oh & the breakfast was also outstanding; probably one of the nicest hotel breakfasts I have experienced, with so much choice. I would highly recommend The Wood Norton, and we will definitely be back😊

- Leanne (1/5): Terrible - After dinner I was followed out by staff and told I didn't pay the bill but did and was not no communication with staff facility's not available due to not working but was not told when booking and paying 250 pounds to stay and used facilities and was a dog barking in room next to me all night uncomfortable I have a disability didn't feel comfortable and was followed out by staff again when I was leaving to say I have outstanding bill for dinner again I explained it's been paid but felt imbariced and none of my needs was met unfortunately

Quite tired and outdated - could do with a revamp (stained towels, faded scatter cushions, stained linen) expensive drinks and food prices (London prices) but without the London choices and quality. Worth flagging that there are no spa treatments available on weekends which we weren’t made aware of until we arrived

- EleanorS1998 (10/5): Perfect Venue for a Special Celebration - We celebrated a 60th birthday at The Wood Norton with a party and gathering for friends and family, and we all had a fantastic time. The staff were fab, the rooms were lovely, and everything helped make the occasion really special. Highly recommend for a celebration or group stay!

- 99PSB (6/5): Will give it a try. - Nice appearance both externally and internally. Plenty of ev charging points (Roam). Room rates are quite reasonable. Hotel is c. 13 miles from Worcester and c. 2 miles from Evesham. Service was not the best, felt a bit like we were imposing.
