It is not so usual everywhere. Craftsmanship of the details. I didn't find anything wrong. We've been only two days. But truly nothing was negatively attracting attention. Amarilys (10/5): We had a very pleasant and unforgettable stay in Ortisei! - We selected this hotel knowing that it would be a special place for us to stay in Ortisei! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were right! The Angelo Engel is a wonderful hotel with all the essential amenities you need to make your stay unforgettable! Our junior suite was super spacious, and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious! Location was ideal to explore Ortisei’s many points of interests and beyond! We recommend this hotel without reservations and would definitely stay here again. Despite knowing ahead of time that there would be no air conditioning, the room was somewhat warm during the daytime. However it cooled in the evenings with the windows open enjoying the fresh mountain air.

Ashleigh (10/5): Wonderful family owned and run hotel in a fabulous part of the world - It was fabulous from the moment we checked in and were kindly gifted a free upgrade! We found the hotel generally so wonderful, as well as the staff. Everyone was kind and helpful. We enjoyed the facilities onsite as well as the hotel bar that had such delicious wine options. We booked the rate inclusive of breakfast and dinner and the food was amazing. The hotel was conveniently located and had stunning views everywhere you looked! Highly recommend travelling in October, the weather was lovely for hiking. This is super nit-picky but the pillows could have been comfier!

Paige (9/5): Couldn’t beat the location - The location was great, cable carts for both Seceda and Alpe Di Sussi were walkable (~5mins). The rooms are cosy and clean, and the spa facilities are great. We also didn’t realise that afternoon snacks were included which was a great bonus. Only satellite tv available in the rooms, which as an English speaker made the evenings a little dull when you just want to relax in your room before bed. It would be great if the hotel could offer streaming services (Netflix, Disney etc.)

Greg (10/5): - Beautiful little boutique hotel just steps away from Main Street in Ortisei one of the most beautiful towns in the world. Hotel was elegant yet comfortable, staff super friendly and helpful. Bartender Nicola was always there on arrival in the afternoons with a smile and a fresh Hugu Spritz, which we took to the awesome pool. Restaurant serves great breakfast with fresh baked goods as well as lunch or dinner available if you stay in and the food and wine selection is excellent.

Shash (10/5): We would come back as often as possible. 10/10 - This was one of our best stays ever. We were a young people and the youngest people around but we felt very at home. Everything is top notch and the hotel is like a family. We got to know every single person there, including the staff, the owners and all the guests They organise hikes everyday, trails that you wouldn’t find yourself. Also breakfast hikes, and even did a bbq for all the guests. Some of the best food we had were on these organised events There’s nothing not to like with a gym, solarium, pool, indoor and outdoor sauna, views of the mountains, afternoon snacks every evening, and bunch of events. Only thing to note, there is no AC, which makes sense given the altitude but the world is definitely getting hotter..

Perfect location, large spacious room with a balcony and gorgeous mountain views. Slippers and robe provided, and nice bathroom amenities. Complimentary snacks in the bar each evening.
Michael (6/5): Non family friendly room setup. - Nice location. Good breakfast. Rooms have the second bed in a pass through room going into the bathroom. Traveled with our adult daughter who had no privacy and was awoken whenever anyone needed the bathroom. Tried to change rooms. Apparently they are all like this. Rooms should be for 2 people only. Would have stayed elsewhere if we had known.

Location was right near the gondola to go up the mountain. The bed was comfortable, but the satin duvet kept sliding off the bed and wouldn't stay in place. That is the only minor complaint. I would stay here again.

James (9/5): Pleasant and convenient base in Ortisei. - Good location, nice grounds lovely pool and spa facilities. Pleasant staff with organized bike rides and hikes. We had a room facing the street which was less scenic and noisier if you have the windows open. Be sure to ask for a room facing the other side overlooking the lawn and pool. Also, avoid 207 and 307 as their balconies are small (in addition to overlooking the busy road into town).
Mihiinme (7/5): Good Stay, All and All - The food was top notch. The breakfast was good we were offered omelet or pancakes from the kitchen on our first morning but never again for the rest of our stay. Dinners were a site for the eyes and the taste buds. So much food. Chef was amazing and the head of wait staff was so upbeat and helpful explaining local dishes and wine parings. The bed was very hard to the point we didn't sleep well the whole stay. The room was loud with traffic if you left the windows open. Lucky for us it wasn't hot so we could shut the windows. The desk staff seemed indifferent but that could be a cultural thing. Saying that they took care of our request in a reasonable fashion. Would of like maybe a tour or explaination of what services where available as it was our first time there. I think many were repeat visitors.

Holly (10/5): An exceptional stay in Ortisei - This is an amazing hotel walking distance from the town centre and gondola. From the moment we checked in until we checked out we were taken care of by amazing staff who delighted in making our time in Ortisei memorable in every way. From the front desk, dining, lounge, wellness centre and room staff nothing was too much trouble. The dining experience was lovely and watching the staff speak multiple languages as they moved between their guests made it such a warm and caring environment. A lovely touch is 'tea time' every afternoon where all the guests gather in the lounge for afternoon tea and enjoy a beautiful selection of home cooked goods from the kitchen. Another highlight was the evening you roasted chestnuts in the courtyard for us all. You have a way of bringing guests together which creates a wonderful warm atmosphere. Well done Angelo Engel your staff are your best asset! We will definitely be back one day. Nothing

Right in the centre of Ortisei, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Ski lifts giving access to the high mountain pastures are close by, but you can also walk straight from the door.

Catherine (10/5): Charming small hotel with personal touches - After a day of hiking it was wonderful to come back to a swim in the pool with a gorgeous view. Lots of nice little touches, like tea and water by the spa, food in the bar in the afternoon, and very friendly desk staff and bartender, Nick, who would bring drinks poolside. Breakfast choices were excellent. The beds were comfortable, (no top sheet, though, just a comforter). Other reviews complained about road noise for our side of hotel, but we slept with a window open and heard only the water, not traffic.

Alison (10/5): Loved our stay here! - We loved the location of this hotel – right next to downtown and walking distance to the main lifts. Our room was wonderful too, with an enormous balcony (perfect for sunbathing or drying clothes). And the daily complimentary snacks (fresh fruit, etc) and sauna/pool area were great amenities. Feels like a spa resort just minutes from downtown. No complaints here! We had a perfect stay. However, we didn't eat at the restaurant so can't speak to the food here.

Very friendly staff. Close to shops, restaurants and gondolas. No air conditioning. No lamp on the nightstand in the 2nd room of the junior suite. Had to get up to turn floor lamp on and off. Suite set up ok for two adults with one child but not so much for three adults.
Cheryl (10/5): Awesome Hotel and Staff - We loved this hotel and its location in Ortisei. We could easily walk to everything including the Secede and Seiser Ali lifts. Our balcony had a beautiful view of the mountains and although compact, the room was very efficiently laid out. The staff was wonderful, the food was terrific and the garden, pool and spa fantastic.
