- Coastal762570 (10/5): excellent location, friendly staff, great breakfast; an oasis in La Paz - hotel in great location with friendly staff
- trakin69 (8/5): Good Hotel in La Paz - We stayed at the Casa Grande Hotel for 5 nights and here is our thoughts.
Pros:
1. Hotel was exceptionally clean.
2. Food and service in Yerba Buena was good.
3. Room was spacious and clean and quiet at night.
4. Location was in an upscale neighborhood with many places to eat and drink.
5. Hotel was located close to the cable car (green line).
Cons:
1. Front desk had limited (and I mean limited) English.
2. You had to pay for your room upon checkin.
3. You couldn't charge anything to your room (food, drinks, etc.).
4. Housekeeping was stingy with no extra water, soap, toilet paper, etc. provided. We had to ask for more at the front desk.
5. Service in the Casabar on the top floor was slow.
6. Hotel was located about a 25 minute taxi ride to the main Murillo Square. Taxi cost about BOB 40-50.
- Mariana (8/5): Hotel great, in need of international management. - Facilities and good breakfast. People serving at Yerba Buena were most helpful and kind. People at reception were useless, the hotel is in need of an international managing.
- chrisdE2366MM (10/5): An excellent hotel - Excellent all round. And so much better than the Atix across the road, at a small extra cost. Great staff, food and rooms. And so much space.
- Diego (8/5): -
- jorge alejandro (9/5): -
- Renzo Gonzalo (9/5): Muy bueno!
- Kai Nian (1/5): - Our stay was disappointing, and it is difficult to understand how this hotel is rated 5 stars. For the price, both the service and amenities fell well below expectations. Only one bottle of complimentary water was provided, forcing us to use the minibar and pay 12 BOB per bottle. When we requested a kettle, the staff did not know what one was. When we asked another staff member, we were told the only kettle had already been given to another guest. On top of this, communication in English was limited, which made the stay more difficult for international guests. This was nowhere near worth the price.
- jorgeluisi304 (10/5): Great dinner date at Yerba Buena - Service was excellent, Five star treatment the entire evening. Menu full of great options and the food was superb. Will definitely come back for more.
- kennethb489 (10/5): 5 Star hotel restaurant - Great Food, awesome service, our Server Aaron was so dedicated and always concerned about customer experience. Food was delicious and served promptly. My Mom was as pleased with all attention she got for her birthday
- Neme (10/5): - Piscina
- Nitin (10/5): Awesome hotel. Recommend it to anyone planning a stay in La Paz. My second visit in 8 years - Great staff , clean rooms and great restaurant and good breakfast
- Demanding_but_Fair (10/5): A really calm, safe comfortable base in La Paz - This is a very comfortable hotel located in the safest, calmest, lowest, area of La Paz just a short walk from the end of the green Teleférico cable car line. The staff are friendly, the facilities are great and the cost of a late or super late (6PM) check out are minimal. It's close to valley of the moon and Gustu which might be the best restaurant in La Paz.
It's a great base for exploring La Paz because even though it's not in the center, you can get there by cable car and cable care is fun and fascinating. And you always feel safe walking around which is not the case in the centre of the city when it gets dark.
- Brizio (9/5): - Las instalaciones. En personal de el lobby
- drkalp86 (8/5): Excellent for the La paz - Good hotel. Having heater, other amenities and oxygen facilities and decent staff who can understand English. Warm swimming pool.
- JamesCKennedy (10/5): Incredible Hotel Experience in La Paz - Absolutely phenomenal experience. From the courteous staff to the stunning interior of the hotel, the experience is top notch. The food in the restaurant is not to be missed and the waiters are extremely kind and helpful. Special recognition for Rafael Z who stood out amongst his peers. Highly recommended all around.

- 186wojtekb (10/5): Professional and pleasant service. Very good food. Lovely setup. - Great experience because of your food and definitely an outstanding service. Rafael Z. was it waiter and he made the experience even more pleasant.
- Ricardo (10/5): - Great hotel, I totally recommend it
- Karine (10/5): - Everything.
- Andrea (9/5): Das beste Hotel in ganz Bolivien!
- gianinat2021 (10/5): Amazing ! - Perfect! Everything was perfect ! We love it ! Really nice ! We really enjoy it!!! The pool is amazing , and the food it was perfect
- Fabiola (10/5): Espectacular - Todo Nada
- Jeanine2864 (10/5): Excellent Stay - The hotel was excellent, rooms were clean, pool area outstanding, food in the dining room had a great selection. The staff went out of their way to help and make the stay an awesome experience. Had drinks up on the roof top bar where you can over look La Paz which is fabulous. Would totally recommend
- Karine (8/5): - On the website, the family room has a terrace.
That's why we choose this accommodation.
Actually, there is no terrace.
- Nicolas (10/5): Exceptional -
- anasuas (10/5): - Great night’s sleep here and taken care of with an interpreter when my son was ill. Excellent breakfast and dinners. The suitcases bought up and down with efficiency and checkout easy despite complications due to paying a doctor which they facilitated for us. Would be good to have refills for drinking water though. Thank you!!!!
- 488giselleg (10/5): Wonderful stay - Had a wonderful stay! The location was perfect, the WiFi was fast and reliable, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. They even helped me with my bags when I was switching over to Casa Grande Suites. Thank you!
- N3061CHleonardov (8/5): Great Service and Tasty Breakfast, but Could Use More Variety - The breakfast at Casa Grande Hotel was overall very good. The quality of the food and the service were excellent—staff were attentive and made the experience pleasant. However, I would have appreciated more frequent refills and a bit more variety in the options. With those improvements, it would be outstanding.
- JoyT1268 (10/5): Lovely hotel - we had very good experiences of staying here. the room was very clean and new. we love the breakfast of the restaurant. we will definitely come back.
- Y1052XTangelam (10/5): A Fantastic experience - Our time at the Casa Grande Hotel has been nothing short of incredible.
The staff (particularly Jhovana, Rafael and Oscar) have gone above and beyond to ensure we are having a wonderful time. They anticipate our every need. For instance, omelettes and cappuccinos at the beautiful
Buffet breakfast are out of this world. We will return here in a heartbeat!
- Nick (9/5): Superb -
- eddiecO7223HY (10/5): Great hotel and staff - Highly recommend visiting Antonio at the Yerba Buena restaurant bar. He takes great pride in making his cocktails. If you need a small boost I recommend his “flat white” coffee. Just what you need to perk you up.
The staff at Casa Grande Bar are a delight. Marco, Ivar, Miguel, and the lovely young lady Carla are a welcoming staff. Outstanding cocktails and highly attentive to everyone’s needs.
- Jane (10/5): Highly recommended - A beautiful, modern hotel.
Nice pool and jacuzzi as well as relaxing loungers / hammocks. There is some strange arrangement depending on what room type you have as to whether you can “sign” for food/drinks on your room and pay upon check out.
Apparently our room did not have this ability despite them taking a credit card 💳 when we checked in.
- Erika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Juan (1/5): Terrible Hotel - Good location for what we needed on this trip. Staff and management have no understanding of customer service. When we checked in, our 2 rooms were hot. We asked for someone to take a look at this issue while we were out of the rooms during the day. When we came back, both rooms felt like ovens and we never received follow up from the hotel on this. I called to ask for help with this issue 2 times after that with no resolution. At 11 pm when we came back to the room after dinner, I noticed the staff left my windows open which caused bugs to get in the room and the room was still hot. I explained this to them and asked to be moved to a different room. The staff said they needed management approval and they would call me back. When they called back to confirm they could move us to a different room? I asked them if they checked the temperature in the new room to ensure is adequate before we move. They told me they didn’t check but since I was asking they would go check and call me back. When they called back, they informed us the new room they were proposing was warmer than the current room. I asked for this to be escalated and never received follow up. Every time I asked for help I was told by different staff members as well as management that because I booked through booking.com there was not much that they could do to help me and that I should book with them directly next time. Why are they selling on this site then? Front desk staff were rude, they have a “spa” but don’t provide slippers to use the facilities. When I was talking to one of the managers about the room being so hot, she was not interested in helping but wanted to inform me that she checked my “booking.com” reservation and that I only paid for 1 guest per room and not 2, which was not true. I had to bring her my reservation confirmation with all details to confirm again that my booking was done correctly.
- Adam (9/5): Superb -

- Ian (10/5): - Great place to stay in La Paz
- OLIVER (10/5): - .
- Cesar (8/5): Great place to stay. Needs to fix overheating. - Modern, clean, very attentive staff. Breakfast restaurant was overheated and uncomfortable. Had to rush my breakfast beacuse I was suffocating.
- robcE7805IE (10/5): Casabar @ Casa Grande Hotel - The Casabar was comfortable, well set out with a wide variety of beverage offerings. Staff were very friendly and efficient, even with our lack of Spanish. Food was great also. We had the garlic prawns and octopus with potatoes, both delicious. Washed down with tasty local Bolivian Syrah.
- rkigervaron (10/5): Great place - I was there for 3 nights and had a very good experience. Rooms were excellently appointed, service impecable- location was excellent if going to the south side of La Paz. The restaurant was solid and the breakfast there was very good. An overall great hotel
- cbZ4649TP (10/5): 10 day Hotel Stay - Excellent service. Room was large and comfortable. Laundry service was reliable. Great transportation options which makes it easy and safe to move around the city. Staff is always willing to go the extra mile. Be sure to try coffe in the hotel restaurant.
- John (10/5): - Staff was super friendly. Wine was tasty and affordable ($15/bottle)
- Luz (10/5): - Great location to shops, quite comfortable and excellent service.
- Janice (10/5): - This property is MUST if you're staying in La Paz excellent service and the staff was so friendly. The restaurant was delicious, seriously one of the best experiences. It is a bit further from central La Paz but that was never an issue since the cable car is just a few blocks away.
- Jay (10/5): - Fantastic hotel with great amenities. Staff was top notch - super friendly and helpful.
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- RENIERE (10/5): - My only negative comment is that this is the first time I have issues with asking for extra coffee in the room. My wife and I normally have a coffee when we wake up and before breakfast. When I asked for more, I was told that the Hotel provides only one individual packet per room and as a courtesy ... After travelling around the World and staying in many hotels, this was a first to me. I'll be back, but I'll bring my own instant coffee.
- CarolAnneD (10/5): Lovely Hotel - Highly Recommended - Lovely hotel in good location. Spacious room with a lovely view and comfortable bed. Food was very good and well priced. The buffet breakfast had a nice selection of foods. The Casabar on the top floor was a great place for evening drinks. The hotel had a swimming pool and zacuzzi - again with super views and a lovely place to relax. I haven't yet mentioned the best thing of all about the hotel and that was the staff. To a person they were incredibly helpful, friendly and could not do enough to ensure you had just the best stay at Casa Grande.

- Jacquese (9/5): Clean and comfort Stay - The restaurant had great service and the drinks menu had a good selection. The hotel also had surrounding restaurants which were in walking distance. Beds are comfortable. The hotel is not located in the center city but a taxi service was easy to find.
- roxana (10/5): - Excelent staff and hotel
- Valeria (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (8/5): - I wish they would honor the VIP perks. I was charged for an early check in. And I got absolutely no upgrade in the rooms. This review was going to be a lot worse, if it wasn’t for Marcela who always does a great job, accommodating, and being a great host. If it was not for her, these reviews would be a lot worse.

This review was going to be a lot worse, if it wasn’t for Marcela coming in and saving the day. She is a fantastic host and always trying to better our stay here
- Katrice (8/5): - The swimming pool was the best. I loved the fact it was heated. Unfortunately, I we woke up in the morning to a bathroom filled with tiny ants that were all over the bathroom sink. I did make them aware but the staff did not seem to care. My husband and I celebrated our 21st anniversary and they are the most expensive. We have stayed at Ritz Apart, the Atix, and a couple others. I just feel this place was a bit too pricey. But my husband told me not to compare it to the US hotels. I think I should since they ask for US money. Anyway, other than the ants and the strong smell of Lysol in the elevator everything thing else was ok. The pool was the best but not enough to return. The salad made my husband sick and we only received a partial refund for that. I wish the staff could stay at an American hotel for just one night. We travel alot because if work so maybe I am being to hard on this hotel. We gave them 4 stars because it was super clean minus the ants
- James D Lites (10/5): - Very unique building design. Staff was very helpful and attentive. Design with all of the glass made it a bit warm in the hotel during the day, but very nice rooms.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Scott (10/5): Paradise on the edge of La Paz - Beautiful Spa and pool, great lay out, beautiful outside. Great area of La Paz but if people are staying here are thinking that they are near downtown, they have to know that they are going to Calacoto, which is outside of "El Centro" by a 15-20 minute cab, minibus or gondola ride. Very helpful at front desk. Staff claimed to speak English...but many of them barely. Otherwise, it was great.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Andres (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ariel (8/5): Very good - The rooms are very comfortable, with a beautiful view. The air conditioning is very silent and efficient. Restaurant service is limited in the afternoon.
- Anthony (9/5): Great stay AS USUAL at casa grande ! - Reliable. Same service, always. A bit too hot in some part of the hotel but this is due to climate….. they got big cold the week after ans it was hot when we came… hard to align the aircon etc.
- Ro (9/5): Lovely stay in La Paz - This was the first of our 3 stays at this hotel in between climbing mountains. The hotel kindly stored our bags from us while we were away climbing mountains. The hotel is located in a quiet area outside of the craziness of central La Paz which is nice. The hotel generally has a very modern feel to it. Our room was huge, clean and very comfortable. Although we didn't have time to use these, we note the hotel did have a nice gym and pool area. The staff were very friendly and professional. The breakfast was fine but could have been more diverse. The room service menu was very good. Dinner was very nice. We got a massage and the masseuse was awful - we were both genuinely worried she would harm our bodies. We didn't have enough bottled water or toiletries in the room upon arrival. Although it is a very nice hotel (especially compared to other hotels we had stayed in, in La Paz), do not expect to receive the sort of 5-star quality you would receive at other 5-star hotels around the world.

The breakfast was fine but could have been more diverse. The room service menu was very good. Dinner was very nice. This stay wasn't as good as our first stay. We didn't have enough bottled water or toiletries in the room upon arrival. Our room service order was messed up. Our room was significantly smaller than last time though we booked the same room category. Although it is a very nice hotel (especially compared to other hotels we had stayed in, in La Paz), do not expect to receive the sort of 5-star quality you would receive at other 5-star hotels around the world.
- Ro (7/5): Good stay in La Paz (we stayed here three times and our stays got progressively worse) - This was the 3rd of our 3 stays at this hotel in between climbing mountains. The hotel kindly stored our bags from us while we were away climbing mountains. The hotel is located in a quiet area outside of the craziness of central La Paz which is nice. The hotel generally has a very modern feel to it. Our room was cosy, clean and comfortable. Although we didn't have time to use these, we note the hotel did have a nice gym and pool area. The staff were very friendly. The room service menu was fine. Our first stay was the best, the second stay wasn't as good and the third was the worst by far which was disappointing. It was weird that our stays were just getting progressively worse even though the staff knew us well by this point and you'd think they would try to provide better services. We didn't have enough bottled water or toiletries in the room upon arrival. Our room service order was messed up again. Our room was significantly smaller than the one we stayed in during our previous two stays though we booked the same room category - it was actually ridiculously small. Although it is a very nice hotel (especially compared to other hotels we had stayed in, in La Paz), do not expect to receive the sort of 5-star quality you would receive at other 5-star hotels around the world.
- Lea (9/5): La Paz luxury hotel - The hotel is beautiful! Great amenities and the location was close to restaurants and the green line teleférico The pool/gym was not accessible with the room key card, had to be booked an hour in advance, which was not ideal.
- CAROLA (10/5): - My personal experience at first wasn’t the greatest at first upon check in, however the manager at the end turned the situation around.
The staff in general was cordial and helpful. Hotel is in a great location in the southern portion of La Paz.

- William (8/5): - I stayed in this hotel constantly with my daughters. I live in La Paz, and there are no pools that we know of so we rent a room and stay there quite often. It is April 12 and I’ve stayed in this hotel about four times this year alone. They never want to upgrade you the room which is very disappointing, especially considering as much time as we spend there and money. I’m a Gold member with Expedia and I also stay there quite frequent and they still will not upgrade my room. This particular time I stayed there on a Monday, which is the least busy time in la Paz and I still couldn’t get them to give me an upgrade. I am a great tipper, I eat at the restaurant, I get room service, I’ve gotten spa service, and I still can’t get them to give me a room upgrade. That to me is absolutely ridiculous. All in all it’s a nice hotel I just can’t see why they can’t twist their arm a little bit and give me that upgrade, but some people are just too petty. So sad.
- Arjang (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (10/5): - We stayed in the Casa Grande for six days and found everything to be of the highest caliber. The best! We were able to walk all over Calacoto to visit friends, take the teleferico to the city center and easily catch a cab for other destinations.
The staff was helpful, the waiters excellent, and food delicious. We plan to return.
- Gloria (10/5): great - location, staff member, good breakfast all none
- Anne (9/5): Superb -
- Paulo (9/5): Superb -
- William (6/5): - For a hotel, that is supposed to be the best hotel, and with the prices day charge, I would expect a different level of awareness. I when I asked for my VIP benefits they made me feel like if I was some kind of welfare case asking for some kind of handout.
This was exactly the text message I received:
“Señor xxx, buenos días.
Disculpe respóndele hasta ahora. Lamentablemente no es posible cuándo son Reservas por internet (Expedía).
Hicimos la excepción la última vez. Lamentablemente tenemos restricciones.”
So they’re saying that it is not possible for them to give me any kind of upgrades when I make my reservation online, but Expedia is an online reservation app. It makes absolutely no sense for them to say that. Then she says they have restrictions. So if you have restrictions that maybe they should take their hotel off of VIP status. Because the benefits I was asking for for Expedia Gold members which I am one and have been one for years.
One of the days I came to pick up one of my friends that was staying in the hotel, and I parked my vehicle in front. The parking lot and front area were completely empty. One of the doorman like some kind of parking lot patrol came and said that I have to move it I said my friend will be here in 5 min. He said we need to keep this whole space empty at all times. And again I would have no problem if there was people waiting but the hotel lobby in parking we’re completely empty. You’re telling me you can’t wait 5 min! Get off VIP!!
