- Sightseer57498467596 (4/5): Beautiful but loud - The hotel is beautiful and the room was well appointed. The drag racing and engine revving reverberating on the buildings downtown went on all night long. Noise canceling headphones partially blocked it out. It is no fault of the hotel and I hope a noise ordinance will change this for them. Until then I will pick a hotel far away from downtown.
- kris621 (10/5): Perfect Stay - Absolutely beautiful hotel inside. Large rooms, comfortable beds, and black out curtains that allowed us to sleep until 10am each morning which is rare for us. The free airport pick up was amazing and such a relief at a late hour and after a long day of travel. Front desk staff was always friendly. The location is decent - we found some restaurants within a ten minute walk, and Ubers are easy to get to if we wanted to go farther. Not sure if we’ll ever end up in Wichita again but would definitely consider this hotel if we do. Not a single complaint.
- rmanies (2/5): Like Sleeping on a NASCAR Track - If you enjoy race cars, drag cars, and motorcycles revving their engines outside of your hotel room until all hours of the morning, then this is the hotel for you! It was like sleeping in the middle of a NASCAR track. While this is not an indictment on the hotel, downtown Wichita has a serious problem of loud race cars dragging the city streets. This seems like a problem the City could quickly fix with a noise ordinance and some police oversight.

When we made mention of it to the desk in the morning, they said there were earplugs and a noise canceling device in the room. They need to do better about informing guests of the street noise.

Большой номер. Ночью под окнами были гонки или типо того. Начиная с 7 вечера и до утра. Спать было невозможно. Работники отеля очень странные. С ними не хочется пересекаться. В мини баре только алкоголь, безалкогольных напитков, кроме воды, вообще нет. Нельзя заказать или где-либо получить напитки к ужину в номер, из нужно дополнительно просить у официанта и их приносят отдельно. Мало средств для личной гигиены. В туалет нету двери. Только задвижка общая, которая разделяет ванную с самой комнатой.

It was laid out nicely and being a corner room I had great views to the south and east looking over downtown. My bed was firm, which I like!!!

They upgraded my King room to an entire deluxe Suite w/separate bedroom and put me in a corner room on high level for the amazing views of downtown. They gave us a free champagne toast pkg for free at Dockum’s. They extended our check out time the next morning, gave us 2 extra hours. This was all without asking! We simply called and asked to check in early because we were getting ready for our wedding. When we checked in, we were presented with all these extras at no additional charge. The extraordinary customer service, combined with luxury, and just the entire vibe….10/10!!! Room service breakfast was from marvelous! Thank you Ambassador Wichita for making my wedding day and night memorable! Outstanding!!!!!

The bed was just a little softer than I prefer, however I slept soundly. A truly wonderful restaurant with excellent food and service. Need to add “grab bar” to provide elderly folks assistance to enter/exit the shower and to sit/stand from toilet. This is not a handicap issue, this is simply to provide additional “support” for those folks who need/want to feel more secure and confident while moving about and using the restroom facilities.

- 430denverp (10/5): Who needs the Ritz-Carlton? Luxury in downtown Wichita, Kansas. - The Ambassador Hotel in the heart of Wichita, Kansas deserves a 10-star review! My wife and I, both Wichita locals, enjoyed staying at the Ambassador as part of our Labor Day stacation. Trevin and Jessica both went above and beyond our expectations during our two-night stay. I requested a few special items for our stay and was not disappointed at all. We were greeted with a complimentary room upgrade, a bottle of champagne, and a beautiful flower arrangement in our room. Breakfast and bed on Sunday morning was one of the highlights of our visit. And one could not forget the terrific dinner we had at the hotel's on-site restaurant, Sienna Tuscan. The staff at the Ambassador Hotel stayed in touch during our visit and were always ready to meet any accommodations that we had. Even though this was not our first stay at the Ambassador, we were very impressed with the level of service that has accompanied all of our visits. Thank you again for making our weekend memorable. We cannot wait for our next visit.

I was running late and wasn’t able to get there for my check in until 4+ hrs than originally planned. There were some check in issues on my side of the process. There were 2 amazing women working that evening that took care of everything and got me checked into my room. I can’t thank Jessica and Maddy enough for how nice they were and how they handled the process. My level of appreciation for these two wonderful women is off the charts. Anytime I’m in Wichita this will be my go to hotel based on those two alone. My only hope is they’re working the next time I’m there. I would go as far as scheduling my next stay and check in with their work schedule. Thank you so much ladies! I appreciate you!!

- W4844XJpamelab (10/5): Wichita Ambassador Hotel was my home away from home! - My husband had a life threatening accident and was air lifted to the Level 1 Trauma Center in Wichita, Kansas. I was at our home in Colorado and drove the 8 hours to Wichita to be with him. It was nearly midnight when I arrived and a friend arranged for me to go to the Ambassador Hotel on 104 S Broadway because they had a valet. I ended up staying for four weeks there while my husband was in the ICU at the hospital one mile from the hotel. Everyone who worked there were the nicest, kindest, and caring people I have ever had the pleasure getting to know. Over the four weeks, they took me under their wing and greeted me, got to know me, always asked how I was and how my husband was doing in his long recovery. The shuttle valets escorted my family members from the airport, took us to nearby restaurants so we wouldn’t have to walk in the dark and greeted me every morning when I drove to the hospital. On one day, when my husband’s life was truly in the balance, the sweet manager, Bonnie came to my room with a pizza she bought for us because we were too tired and worried to go out for dinner. I got to recognize and know most of the staff working the desk, and they always made me feel so welcome. The waiters and bartenders were generous and friendly and made a point to remember me. (My favorite drink is their signature Purple Rain when my day had been not so good.). I never had to worry with keeping my room cleaned and in order because every day when I returned, exhausted from the hospital, it was a clean and welcoming room waiting. That sure is not what would happen at an airbnb!! I always felt safe and well cared for! It didn’t take long for The Ambassador Hotel to feel like my home after a long, grueling day where I could recover and relax. When I had to finally leave the Ambassador Hotel because my husband was transferred to a different area, it was very bittersweet and a few tears were shed. I doubt I will ever find such a caring group of people in the hotel industry than the angels in disguise at the Wichita Ambassador Hotel.

We use to pick a new hotel each time, BUT....we are now completely spoiled for the Ambassador! Great people in all positions, the restaurant is really good, and the rooms are simply the best!! We usually request a corner room..just a little more fun and light and energy from downtown! Overall beautiful, lovely property.

We ate in the restaurant which was delicious, and then we enjoyed the speak easy with live music and delicious drinks later in the evening. The best part was just being able to relax and never having to leave the premises. The only complaint is that the bed was not very comfortable.

But there is a drag race thing that happens in the evenings on the streets of downtown Wichita- right in front of the hotel- which makes the rooms very noisy. I wish the city would do more to stop that because it leaves a bad impression of the hotel and the town.

- Trek18337644673 (2/5): Confused as to how this property is rated autograph as the Fairfield Inn we stayed in the first night was superior. - I will start by sharing that my email from this hotel said "If you enjoyed your stay, and have the opportunity, please leave us a review on Tripadvisor.com", I decided that I needed to give an honest review. We arrived after a long 3 out of 5 day road trip. We are staying strictly at Marriott properties and the autograph hotel the previous night was awesome so was looking forward to another pleasant night at this autograph property. The valet was so friendly and I really started to be excited prior to entering the small bleak lobby. I approached the front desk and was asked for my DL to prove I was 66 to get the senior discount that I booked (standard procedure). I was then asked for a credit card for incidentals and I responded to use the card on file (I am currently a Gold member but prior to retirement was at the highest reward level). She responded "at this hotel we require a credit card to be swiped and a $100 hold placed" which I found odd for an autograph level property. We were on the 5th floor and the room was spacious. The refrigerator I had requested (again odd that rooms didn't have one) was in the room. The carpeting was dingy and the mirror in the bathroom was cracked. The pleather covered bed frame was worn and had tears in it. The commode didn't flush and so had to take the back cover off and flush manually. The light over the glass tea cart where the coffee maker sat did not work. The top of the cart was mostly a display of junk food with price sheet (very tacky). I placed an order for 2 bath towels through the app, put the do not disturb sign on the door and then went for a walk. When I passed the front desk where everyone was preoccupied, I stopped and shared that I had requested the towels and the clerk looked confused and said she would check. I shared that I was going for a walk and would pick them up from the front desk. When I returned and asked for the towels, she said she would have housekeeping bring up. I went straight to the room as I knew the do not disturb was on and no one was there. I opened the door and the towels were on a bench inside the room. I chatted online with the front desk that in the 12 plus years that I have consistently stayed at Marriott properties (I was a consultant and traveled werkly), that I have never had someone enter my room with a do not disturb and was confused by the invasion of privacy. I kept getting messages that in order to get a mobile key that I had to come down to the front desk and show an ID (I had shown my DL for the discount but I guess they don't use that for the mobile key). We got up early the next morning and got on the road. FYI - the downtown street noise is pretty loud and late into the night (it was a Saturday night).

We were greeted on arrival by a very friendly desk agent, Trevin, who checked us in and even served us a delicious welcome cocktail. We were lucky to be upgraded to a beautiful suite which made our visit even better. The room was spotless and very comfortable. We slept like babies and only wish we'd had time to sleep longer! We enjoyed a very delicious breakfast in the restaurant and I admired their extensive wine selection, I'm sure it's fantastic for dinner as well. We also checked out the speakeasy downstairs and enjoyed the live music there. One of my pet peeves is hotels with slow elevators, and I don't think we ever waited more than ten seconds for the elevator to arrive, and they went up and down quickly too. Parking is conveniently located in a garage right next to the hotel. I would absolutely recommend the Ambassador Wichita and we will stay there again if we are back in the area.

- Kaitlyn (6/5): - the staff at the hotel was friendly, the speakeasy staff however was not. we were unaware that you had to make a reservation to go there, it’s a small bar, we didn’t think it would be necessary. the workers took forever to answer the door, and once they finally did, they acted as if it was an inconvenience for us to go there without a reservation. the mini bar in the room was left open, and everything inside was hot including the fridge itself was hot to the touch. we called the front desk to let them know, and they seemed less than concerned about it and stated that “the people before probably left it open.” it was nice, but doesn’t look anything like the pictures, and way too expensive for what it was. unimpressed with the room, upset over the price when it definitely wasn’t worth it.
