- Rob Bellis (9/5): Lovely pub hotel . Friendly staff - Lovely pub , dinner was very nice. Room was very good except for comment below. Bathroom was poor decoration , paint peeling , bare wood exposed around bath , detracted from overall experience
- amysA4305HE (10/5): Wow - Wow, such quick food service and always good food when rich is in the kitchen, plus friendly welcoming bar staff as always would highly recommend
- Pauline (10/5): - Room very clean, friendly staff, good food. Ran out of pump beer over 2 days though!
- Dale (10/5): Very good would use again - Room was very nice for a one night stay over for work. Plenty of parking for my van. Bar and food and staff all very good Very small thing there was hair in the bath
- Gary (6/5): - To start we only paid £55 so i wasnt expecting it to be 10/10, the bed was ok comfortable enough for a 2 day stay (pillows dreadful - take your own), the room itself was fine (2 chairs was a bonus) although dusty, my biggest bug bear was the noise right outside the window coming from a extractor fan/kitchen? But as i say for £55 it was OK and I'm pretty sure there were better rooms than the Courtyard that we were allocated (although others were available, which seemed strange.....)
- Vanessa (10/5): - Parking area was safe.
- Mark (10/5): Great value for a high quality stay - We had a great stay at The Tawny Owl. Lovely clean room, comfy bed, decent facilities and a great price meant that itvwas fantastic value. We ate in the pub restaurant and found the food really good and the selection of beers was excellent.
- Debbie (9/5): Great stay - Clean and spacious. Staff were lovely. Noise from music and customers leaving after 12 midnight but it was a Saturday night so to be expected.
- Duncan (8/5): -
- John (10/5): - Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Good value for money. Breakfast although at extra cost is excellent and meals in general are very good and well priced.
- Mrs (10/5): Lovely Hotel and Restaurant - Lovely rooms, spacious clean modern and quiet. The bathroom could do with some TLC, the sink pipe work was making strange noises and shower was off the bath. Great food available in restaurant attached we highly recommended the restaurant for food. Great size portions, very well priced and delicious. Staff were lovely.
- Peter (8/5): - They had an event on with live music outside the room so was late before everyone left
No breakfast before 9:30 am on a Monday not good
Bathroom could do with a lick of paint and some new grout
Staff were super friendly and helpful
- Barry (10/5): - Liked the property as clean and had a lovely bath. The food was good even if they forgot to put sausages on my breakfast. Very easily sorted one i spotted them missing.
Great staff and a nice atmosphere. Busy but not too crowded
- Sheoragh J (10/5): Fabulose -

- Linda (4/5): It was ok. - Nice pub The room was right by the kitchen extractor and very noisy
- Ewan (7/5): -
- John (10/5): -
- michael (8/5): Stay before cruise. - Friendly welcome ok check in. Pub was really busy which is great to see. Food nice. Bed very uncomfortable unfortunately room was a decent size.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value overall pub room - Clean, comfy & large though needs slight touch up especially bathroom better mattress new tv maybe new door to room.
Fine for pub room. Pleasant staff. Free parking. Good menu and range of local beers.
- colin (6/5): - Needs a bit of tlc, ie tidy up the decour, and upgrade the win to triple Glazing as too much road noise in the evening.
- Sarah (9/5): -
- Jonathan (6/5): Addequate - good location Room - noisy due to kitchen extractor directly outside of window
- Shin (10/5): My mother and I enjoyed staying at the hotel. It was great! - Large room and bathroom. Clean and comfortable. Nothing much.
- Hughes (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorraine (8/5): Excellent place, very clean, friendly and helpful staff. - Very good, spacious and very clean
- Bridget (8/5): Enjoyed our stay - Check in was easy. Shown to room. Everything provide and polite abd friendly staff. Great base for our visit to the Air Tatoo. Room was comfortable and the pub was busy and friendly and family orientated. Live mudic in Saturday night was an added bonus x
- MRS H V (6/5): - Noisy night , and bathroom looks tired
- Gary (8/5): - Only 3/5 as my room was next to the extractor from the kitchen. The noise stopped around 2100 so a good nights dleep
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): - One of the best places weve stayed..friendly helpful staff room very clean ..food hot and very good ..find it hard to find fault..outside areas could do with a clean up but that would just be nit picking ..great place great stay highly recomend
- Kathryn (8/5): Very good - Staff and food were all very good. Party shut down at midnight and packed up quietly. Bathroom could have done with a small shelf by the sink to put toothbrushes etc on
- Denise (8/5): Lovely stay, very friendly staff - Very friendly staff, easy to book in
- Joanna (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely welcome and help from staff. Cheers
- conor (10/5): - Room was clean and very comfortable. Staff were outstanding and helpful. Food was excellent. Couldn't find fault with anything. Will definitely return again.
- Pauline (10/5): Sorry to say we wouldn’t stay there again or recommend to family and friends. - Staff were lovely and very helpful. Beer Garden, bedroom was a good size and spotless . No air conditioning , Post code didn’t take you directly to the pub, the staff did say there was 2 post codes however no one knew what the other post code was, in saying this, they did try to find out though. Breakfast didn’t start until 9:30, we had a funeral to go to which started 10:30 therefore there was not enough time to eat before we left.
- Dale (7/5): Good -
- Elizabeth (10/5): - This place was just charming and perfect for our first stop in the UK. I do recommend changing out the beds. Mine was uncomfortable although I slept quite well given the jet lag.
- Linda (10/5): Have stayed a few times and would definitely recommend this pub to anyone. Very friendly and 100% Clean. All staff are v - The whole Pub was very clean and inviting. Atmosphere very good. Stayed before and still as good as the last time. N/A
- Dawn (8/5): Lovely pub accomodation - Perfect location for our visit to see family. The room was lovely and quiet, staff were very polite and courteous and breakfast was spot on. I did have to raise an issue with the room to the manager which was taken on board, this didn't affect our stay. We'll definitely stay again. The room was so warm, there were lot's of fans available as there was no aircon, pillows were too flat but again, there were plenty and is probably personal preference.
- Alison (8/5): Comfortable room in a convenient location. - Great location just off the main road. Room 2 was at the front so we couldn’t hear any traffic noise. Everything you could have needed in the room including a fan and very comfortable. Breakfast starts at 9.30 which was fine for us as we weren’t in a rush to get off. We couldn’t get a meal as there was rock and roll bingo on. Outdoor tables under the window made with drinkers was noisy.
- John (2/5): Don't go there - Terrinle room, above the kitchen. Absolutely boiling hot with no air conditioning. The constant smell of food and the awful drone of the extractor unit. The room I stayed in was called "The Courtyard" I might as well have slept in the courtyard, I would have had a better night sleep. Never again.
- Jane (9/5): Short stay, very comfortable - Lovely room. Clean and neat. Well stocked tea and coffee and biscuits too. Staff weren’t around when I arrived, but really not a problem. Would definitely stay there again
- Audrey (9/5): Great stay - Great breakfast
One night stay
Everything we needed and more
- Sheri (10/5): - Very nice!
- Clive (8/5): Definitely worth a stay - A very comfortable stay. Room was very clean and tidy. Bathroom could do with a bit of TLC, although the shower was good, with plenty of hot water.
We stayed on a Saturday night, so there was a party with music in the pub downstairs but this didn’t overly disturb us. We both had a lovely nights sleep.
- Andrew (8/5): Comfortable accommodation. - Had to approach bar for service. Very limited interaction - just escorted to room and provided key. No information provided.
Bars of soap provided on bathroom sink, and not pump soap. Difficult to get soap off hands.
Room comfortable enough.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Great home base to visit the Cotswalds. Very clean, comfortable and spacious room above the really cool pub. Staff was excellent as well. Free parking too.
Th e only issue was that the pub got loud on Friday night. It really didn’t bother us but I could see some early birds getting a bit annoyed.
Otherwise great place and a great value
- Neeraj (10/5): Exceptional -
- Millsbat (10/5): Exceptional - Very well set out building with all the facilities that are required, well run bar and food was very good and reasonably priced, I would stay again! Pillows are very tired and so was the free standing fan, but, a boon as it was unusually warm!
- WindyMiller50 (10/5): Amazing food and service highly recommend. - The service and food was amazing. I would highly recommend them. Plenty of room inside and outside so you don’t feel crammed in
Has a great family feel and outside play area with plenary of seating.
I can’t think of anything bad to say about the experience we had.
Thank you
- Emily (1/5): Glad it was only one night - Ease to get food downstairs after a long day travelling Music didn’t stop until 1:30 am considering the pub closed at 11pm. Yelling into the night
Staff were really rude and unprofessional.
Room was run down and bath was rooting away, the floor had a massive unknown stain on it
- Margaret (10/5): Husband’s birthday treat - Had a very enjoyable stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and reasonable price. Would recommend this place to everyone
- Dayo (10/5): - It was a good experience
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very dated inside and needs a good lick of paint, especially the bathroom
- Jordan (8/5): Very good -
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (7/5): Good -
- Steven (10/5): - This accommodation is lovely quiet and clean.
- Chris (9/5): I'd definitely stay again - I didn't expect the towels to be changed daily.
The room was very clean & "spider" free :)
Food was very good in the restaurant both nights :) A spare loo roll would've been nice without asking for one
- Linda (10/5): Our stay was wonderful! - Location, staff, cleanliness, quality of food, plenty of space in pub area for gathering, comfortable atmosphere. One of our beds was a bit lumpy.
- Robin (9/5): Very nice! Would definitely stay here again! - Room was very clean and staff very friendly!
- Marek (10/5): Very good hotel and restaurant - Very good hotel excellent service friendly staff plus pub and restaurant very nice food
- Anthony (6/5): - Local
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Phil_c_ (8/5): Comfy, convenient and great food and drink, served by really friendly staff. - Room was comfortable and warm. Yes, it could have been modernised but that all costs money when pubs are already struggling. Their selection of beverage accoutrements and biscuits in the room were excellent. Nothing really. We had concerns that we might not get to sleep when the live music was on downstairs but the staff are in complete control and moderated the timing and all was good.
- Robert (10/5): Very satisfied - Excellent room with all the things you could need for a pleasant stay.👍 Can't think of anything.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (8/5): Very good -

- Kimberley (10/5): Excellent stay that I would recommend - Lovely rooms, nice temperature, bar music finished on time and lovely bar.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - Welcoming and friendly staff. Comfortable and cozy room at a reasonable price.
- Matthew (10/5): Little gem in Swindon - Nice little gem in Swindon, start off with the room, the room was lovely and cosy and bath was nice and long and deep, we also tried food on our stay and food was exceptional nice and if we lived nearer we would be popping there more often for food, would we stay again? Yes I'm just being really picky now as hard to pick fault rather than little light you on ceiling you can turn on, would've rather a bedside lamp.
- Stephen (5/5): Passable - Love bath nice bed best sleep long time nice staff nice place to b.some ware I could chill after such a bad couple years.nothing was to much staff very happy to help Not a lot to complain about few stains on wall in room need to clean them .but as I said I would stay again
- Robin (8/5): Very good -
