Guest Reviews
- martin (10/5): - very friendly & excellent breakfast
- Andrew (10/5): - Great friendly couple, brilliant breakfast, comfy room very close to town and beach
- Teresa (10/5): Waverley b&b - Perfect b&b,which was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was amazing with so many choices. Would highly recommend
- Mrs A M (8/5): Lovely little B&B - A lovely B&B with very friendly hosts. The room was large with a comfy bed and recently refurbished. There is no parking so you have to find one on the street (we were lucky and got one outside). Breakfast was made to order and very nice. The B&B is a short walk from the front so ideally located. There was some noise from the room above but this did not go on too late.
- Peter (10/5): - Everything to a very high standard. Breakfast was 1st class
- Michael (10/5): - Great all round, staff attentive, always helpful, food great, easy walking distance of beach.
- Suzanne (10/5): - Wonderful hosts and great breakfasts, room was great
- Conrad (10/5): - Very friendly and convenient for local amenities.
- Paul (10/5): - Nice and close to shops, restaurants and pubs so you can leave your car at the property. Parking is on the road but there is plenty of room in front and on the side of the building.
- Kelly (10/5): - Great B&B, nice rooms, perfect area for lazy beach town vibes, hosts were fantastic and served a lovely breakfast each morning.
Hosts are very accomodating. If visiting the area again I would 10/10 choose to stay here.
- Brian (10/5): Good Choice - Lovely, all new spotlessly clean, breakfast excellent and a good choice.
- Roger j (10/5): Great place to stay for a few days in Minehead - The Waverley has everything you want for a short stay, rooms are clean and fresh, shower room is ensuite and modern and there is plenty of tea & coffee (and biscuits) in the room. In the room we stayed in there was a large wardrobe and drawer chest. Bed was new and firm. Breakfast has a good range of options including cooked and continental
- Jonathan (10/5): This is the place to stay if you are in Minehead - I think we stayed in the best place to stay in Minehead
- Emma (10/5): South West Coast Path and Minehead parkrun - Fantastic location, 3 mins walk to the seafront and the Minehead parkrun start. Hosts offered us an earlier breakfast before run and so close you can get back for a shower pre checkout. Sadly parkrun was cancelled whilst we we’re enjoying a freshly cooked breakfast. So we got to set off on the 1st part of the South West Coast Path earlier than planned. Regular busses from Lynmouth to Minehead make it a great location for 2 days of walking.
- Patricia (10/5): - This is a must stay in if traveling in the area. We felt right at home there. The service was great as was the breakfast.
- Felicity (10/5): - Abc
- Alastair (10/5): - Great location, very clean and tidy. Excellent location, easy parking.
Breakfast was really good too.
Would definitely recommend. Hats off to David and family who have only owned it since June 2022.
- Val (10/5): - Fabulous b&b, friendly and welcoming and spotless. We stayed one night and had a lovely bright bedroom, comfy beds and fabulous breakfast..everything was perfect cant fault it ... should be rated 4* would definetly recommend.
- Jan (10/5): - Room was lovely with an amazing bathroom, lovely bed and good biscuits with the tea and coffee! Would stay here again
- Betty (10/5): - Just a lovely place to stay. Above comments apply.
Not sure about eco question.
- Paloma (8/5): - Lovely hosts. Excellent breakfast
- Christopher (10/5): - Pleased with stay. Good location and easy parking. Staff friendly and breakfast good.
- VALERIE (10/5): Lovely, comfortable stay with great breakfast. - Excellent full breakfast. Our room had a new bathroom that was really nice. Quiet location, friendly hosts. Comfortable bed. Everything was clean.
- Vivienne (10/5): - It was lovely! Friendly welcome, comfortable room and great breakfast!
- Edmund (10/5): - Welcoming and comfortable stay. We would definitely return.
- Annemarie (10/5): A great B and B - Waverley is a lovely friendly place, great breakfasts, several eco features, wonderfully quiet. Just right for walking in that area (Porlock, Dunster, SWcoat path)
- Eric (10/5): - Great location, warm welcome, excellent room, friendly staff, great breakfast, will definitely return!
- Angela (8/5): - Very clean and comfortable. Room we had very good. Welcome tray with tea coffee biscuits. Only downside hair dryer needs to have a mirror closer, it didnt have a movable plug.
- Ian (8/5): Very clean, friendly proprietors and good location - This B&B has just been taken over by the current proprietors and they have clearly had a few teething problems bringing it up to scratch. They are however getting to grips with it and at the same time keeping the rooms very clean and tidy, providing and excellent friendly service as well as a cooked breakfast with full options. Enjoyed our stay in this B&B which is a very handy two minute walk from all the attractions
- S (10/5): Give it a go... - Clean, comfortable accomodation. Top marks for breakfast. Accomadating landlord going that extra mile.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great B&B will return.
- Robert (8/5): B&B - The staff were outstanding. The room was the same as the picture. It was spotlessly clean. Yes there was mismatching furniture but it was clean and everything worked. The only negative was the lumpy bed with the himalayas down the middle. For a B&B it gave outstanding value for money
- Hugh S (10/5): - Good shower, good breakfast, nice room. Friendly welcome, an enjoyable short stay.
- Marion (6/5): Not the best stay - Upon arrival we were greeted by on of the owners and given the key to our room. The room itself was large but poorly designed. The TV was on a cabinet to the left of the bed, which meant we had to crane our necks in order to watch. There were 2 mirrors, but neither was suitable if we wanted to sit down and blow dry hair. The wash basin was in the corner of the bedroom and was tiny. The door to shower room had damage where it had obviously been hit against the corner of the basin, The bed was extremely uncomfortable with a very soft mattress which creaked and groaned when one of us moved, However, the worst aspect of our stay was the appalling wifi connection, which varied between totally unreachable or kept dropping out completely, despite being told there were multiple boosters. We also found pre-ordering breakfast the day before a little and have never come across this before.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really nice stay. The owners have clearly thought carefully about putting in place measures to ensure everyones safety regarding COV-ID. The owners were very friendly, free on street parking outside and a great location a couple of mins from the sea front. Would happily stay here again.
- clive (10/5): Faultless - We were welcomed , fully details given on Covid 19 measures in place , The room was lovely bright and clean , breakfast was really nice and freshly cooked ,with plenty of choice , very pleasant and friendly owners , great location a minutes walk to town centre and beach , plenty of free parking on the street , in a quiet road , would say faultless perfect stay
- Dave (10/5): Awesome - Friendly welcome, gorgeous room, comfy bed, awesome breakfast, nothing more needed to say!
- S (10/5): Give it a go.... - Clean and comfortable with service with a smile from people who care.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly nice welcome nothing was wrong everything asked for catered for
- johng (10/5): - WELCOMING spotless , very central for Minehead car left parked right outside for duration of stay. Would definitely stay there again reasonable rates excellent accommodation and food
- Melody (10/5): Nice bed and breakfast guesthouse close to the bea - The staff are really attentive and very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent and the small dining room was set out beautifully and had a very cosy, pleasant feel to it. The breakfast is served to the table with the freedom of a self serve table for juice, yoghurt, fruit and cereals. Our room was quiet, 100% clean with a very comfortable bed, smoke storage and small, but sufficient en-suite. We loved it and would certainly go there again when visiting Minehead.
- Barbara (10/5): Good hotel - The staff made you very welcome, couldn't do enough. The hotel is close to the shops, beach and bus route.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Handy location for town and beach - Friendly and reasonably priced. had everything we needed
- theladywholunch (10/5): Friendly comfortable - Comfortable, friendly and accommodating our earlier breakfast needs. Spotlessly clean and with the fluffiest towels.
- Jodie (10/5): Home from Home - We booked in to the Waverly and had the most warmest of welcomes.
The room was homely, clean and very comfortable
Iain and Michael the owners looked after well the breakfast was amazing.
- Robert (8/5): Little gem - Very nice. Cooked breakfast & a choice of cereal, toast fruit & such like. Tha room was clean & tidy. Coffee & tea making facilities provided, with some really nice biscuits. Towel and shower gel provided. I arrived on a motorbike & they where kind enough to allow me to park in there driveway behind gates. All in all a good place to stay
- Yvonne (6/5): - Not only close to the beach but also close to the main shopping area.
- Stephen (10/5): One night stay in Minehead - Just great from start to finish. Good sleep. Well cooked yummy breakfast. Clean comfy and quiet. Very relaxing. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Bargain hotel - What a loverly b&b I stay in a single bed room with a shared bathroom only cost me £70 for a two night stay and what a absolute bargain. The owners were so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very tasty. Well done the Waverley b&b 👍 10/10
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice B&B - Room was a bit hot, but hard to avoid with current weather. Fan would have helped.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean and tidy hotel close to the centre and with plenty of info for guests. Friendly and considerate hosts.
- Alan (10/5): Excellent b&b - Excellent overall.
The welcome was warm and friendly.
The bedroom and bathroom was clean and properly stocked.
Breakfast esd excellent. Bacon and sausage very good quality
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly and welcoming host. Centrally located in Minehead. The room itself was average for a B&B, with only one side of the bed having an end table and light, but it was comfortable.
- Debbie (10/5): Lovely b&b - Stayed for 2 nights at the Waverely and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The hosts were friendly, charming and very informative of the area. Breakfast was amazing and plentiful. Would highy recommend.
- Tim (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, good location (near the town centre and the sea front). Breakfast was great. Ian and his brother were helpful and welcoming without being intrusive. The shared bathroom was just outside my door, and there were lots of others. All very good value.

- samantha (10/5): My weekend away - This has been my first weekend away from my children and I was very nervous, but with the warm welcome and the comfortable place we stayed in, I couldn’t have felt more relaxed. The staff were very polite and welcoming, the breakfast was deliciously amazing and being so close to the town was brilliant. I had a very lovely weekend in which I will be back. - Chris (10/5): Prefect for price - Brilliant, nice people defo staying next time.
- John (10/5): Friendly, comfortable and a great breakfast - I was staying in Minehead for the UK Open darts event at Butlins. The Waverley was in reasonable walking distance from both the venue, and the small town shops / pubs.
We received a very warm welcome and the hotel was very comfortable, especially the bed!
Breakfast was excellent with a range of cereals, toast, a full English and some amazing yoghurts!
- Stephen (10/5): Traditional good value hotel - This hotel is run by two brothers the service and good was excellent the hotel is clean and has a good size guest lounge the location to the town and beach is excellent and the parking on front and side road is unrestricted tv in all rooms and refreshment tray really nice breakfast.
- Lynn (8/5): Small but comfy - It was perfect for our needs not too far to pick up Coach to see Dunster lamp Christmas festival. Breakfast was very good , staff friendly and very reasonably priced what more could you want !!
- Mark (10/5): Very clean and convenient - Waverley was very clean and breakfast well cooked and presented. Hotel is very convenient for the shops and the front of Minehead. Would recommend and go back myself.
- Georgie (8/5): Nice quiet hotel short walk to shops and beach - We only stayed for 2 nights we were shown to our room by one of the owners who came across as very pleasant and cheerful. Gave us directions to the shopping areas and the beach front and where the car parks were. Our reason for visiting Minehead was that we were meeting up with family who were staying at Butlins. We were given directions for this as well. The owners asked if we had had a good time with the Grandchildren which wasn't necessary but nice.
We chose to have a cooked breakfast each morning this was well presented and came with a cheery smile. We were always asked if we would like extra but it was not needed.
- Piotr (10/5): Nice hotel. - Good, very Good breakfast.
Really nice staff.
My wife can't use salt, so they make breakfast for her without salt,
And not was problem .

- Deborah (10/5): Excellent Bed & Breakfast - The Waverley is a family run business, well located for the shops, sea front and the steam railway. Excellent traditional service. Bedrooms and the communal rooms were very clean.
Good quality locally sourced tea/coffee in the room and brand name cereals for breakfast along with choice of cooked items, yogurt, fresh fruit, fruit juice, and toast.
We had a comfortable stay and I would certainly recommend this B & B and would like to return. We stayed in single rooms on the first floor.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very friendly in a good location - Very pleasant stay with friendly service hotel well situated to beach restaurants etc we had excellent service at breakfast and the food was plentiful and we'll presented,my only criticism would be that while the hotel was kept clean and tidy a little modernisation and decoration would improve the general feel of the hotel but for a quiet friendly weekend away or overnight stay I'd recommend the waverley hotel
