• Hisko (9/5): Wir werden ganz sicher das Hotel in diesem Jahr wieder besuchen. - Da das Hotel, bzw. die Küche im Moment im Umbau ist, wurde uns offeriert in einem anderen Restaurant zu essen. Da uns das aber vorher mitgeteilt wurde und durch sehr persönliche Betreuung und durch eine perfekte Mahlzeit mehr als wettgemacht wurde, ist dieser Umstand nicht negativ zu bewerten.

• Elizabeth (6/5): Don’t stay there till they have finished refurbishing the hotel - The views were fantastic. Pleasant reception. I am a single lady of over 80 travelling back to Tuscany from the UK in my car. My booking was accepted and then later in an email I was told that the hotel was being refurbished and there was no restaurant for dinner or breakfast and we had to go off to another hotel to eat. The hotel had a horrid closed feeling and not even a bar or anywhere to sit. I took the dog down into the garden. This was all overgrown and some of the steps were highly dangerous and crumbling. I think that it is appalling that I was not told about the refurbishment when I booked. I certainly would have booked elsewhere Also a really incredibly hard uncomfortable bed ( also this needed refurbishing!!) Personally to take €117 for this booking was quite wrong.

Vi fikk gått pilgrims ruten den var helt fantastisk sammen med kirken og alle små gatene. Vi spiste også en 8 retters på restaurant Colonne har aldri smakt bedre mat. Det var helt fantastisk.

Douche was niet proper en oude stoffige lampenkapjes. Hygiëne kon over het algemeen beter. Maar het eten en uitzicht maakte het toch tot een fijn verblijf.

Nous avons passé de beaux et bons moments au restaurant le soir, tous les plats étaient délicieux. Dommage que le parking soit payant pour les 7 nuits. Le prix de la demi-pension nous semble élevé (nuits, déjeuners et soupers).

• Christian (9/5): Hotel zum Entspannen - Das Hotel hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Das Zimmer war schön eingerichtet und der Ausblick von der Terasse ins Tal war einfach umwerfend. Perfekt zum Entspannen. Das Frühstück war überschaubar aber dafür hochwertig und lecker. Das Personal (Familie?) war immer sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Die Hotel-Parkplätze waren überraschend geräumig. Das Badezimmer war zwar modern eingerichtet, allerdings war die Dusche doch etwas beengt und insgesamt für meinen Geschmack zu dunkel.

• Menno (8/5): A charming stay in a picturesque mountain village with an unforgettable fine dining experience. - I chose this hotel as a convenient stopover on my journey from Italy to Holland, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. Nestled in a tiny, historic, and idyllic mountain town, the location is truly picturesque — like something out of a storybook. The hotel itself is housed in an older building, full of charm and character, with details that reflect its long-standing history. The rooms are decorated with vibrant, lively prints that might be a bit bold for some tastes, but I found them wonderfully artistic and full of personality. They added a unique flair to the overall experience. Just outside, you can take a beautiful walk through the winding streets of the village and follow a path up the mountain — the views along the way are stunning and well worth the effort. Conveniently, there’s a lift down the mountain located right next to the hotel. I didn’t use it myself, but it’s a great option for those who prefer not to take the car. The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming, adding a warm and personal touch to the stay. The highlight, however, was the hotel’s restaurant. We opted for the five-course chef’s menu and it was nothing short of magnificent — a true fine dining experience with beautifully presented dishes and rich, balanced flavors. It was the perfect end to a memorable stay. The bathroom could use some modernization, especially in the room I stayed in, which still had a shower curtain.
• Rainer (8/5): Schönes Hotel, freundliches Personal mit herrlicher Aussicht mitten im Grünen Nähe Weltkulturerbe - Frühstück war reichlich, Standards vorhanden. Ab und zu eine Abwechslung. Der Kaffee und der Kuchen waren sehr gut. Gourmet-Essen mit Menükarte oder a la Carte. Die hervorragende Aussicht. Das freundliche Personal, vor allem Mutter und Sohn. Das Hotel ist schon in die Jahre gekommen, hatte aber seinen Charme. Die Einrichtung typisch italienisch. Wasserkocher, Tee, Zucker, Tasse mit Untertasse auf dem Zimmer. Balkon mit Weitblick. Schöne Terrasse. Aufzug. Im Bad alles vorhanden. Täglicher Handtuchwechsel. Parkplatz 15 Euro / Tag , wurde aber auch benötigt. Zufahrt zum Hotel hoch in den Bergen. Viele Serpentinen, enge Strassen., weite Wege bis zur Stadt. Dafür kann das Hotel nichts, sollte man aber mitteilen. Kleine Seifen, bzw. Duschgelflaschen. Täglich erneuert.

L'accueil du service est également très agréable. Hotel à l'ancienne. La salle de bain située à l'etage est peu pratique et aurait besoin d'un rafraîchissement. L'hôtel se situe dans un petit village très isolé et très éloigné de Varese.

• Machteld (8/5): Leuk hotelletje met een mooi zicht op de bergen en het meer. - Iedereen was supervriendelijk! De inrichting is schattig en alles was zeer proper. Wij hadden weken voordien een tafel gereserveerd in het restaurant, maar op de dag van aankomst kreeg ik een bericht dat het restaurant gesloten was. Er werd een alternatief in de buurt aangeraden, maar dat was zeer duur.

• Martynas (9/5): Picturesome get away in scenic remote location with all the amenities in a quality hotel - Location / mountain, cleanliness, staff friendliness, view, clean and tidy, big rooms, very quality restaurant and good chef! Cost a little steep. If someone want to go out in the evenings - the vilage is very small so not much to do thus this location is probably not for you. One evening for some time there was quite a bit of cigarete smell from the inside smoking area in the floor near the restaurant (probably poor ventilation / extraction)

• Ronny (6/5): Die Lage und das Personal waren super, doch die Ausstattung der Zimmer war eher traurig - Die Lage hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Vom Hotel aus kann man schöne Wanderungen tätigen. Die Bedienungen waren immer zuvorkommend und freundlich. Eine Sammlung von ungeeigneter Kissen und Decken habe uns leider nicht gut schlafen lassen. Schränke und Ablagen für Kleidung wurde vom Planer leider vernachlässigt. Die Anzahl der Steckdosen ist ausbaufähig. Auch über die Installation von Rauchwarnmeldern sollte sich das Management Gedanken machen. Bei unserem Aufenthalt waren überwiegend deutschsprachige Gäste im Hotel, daher ist es verwunderlich, dass nur italienische Programme im TV zu sehen sind. Dann kann man das Gerät auch gleich entfernen. Beim Frühstück wären Glasflaschen wünschenswert. Auch die Eier dürften gern etwas länger gekocht werden ( 5-6 Minuten ).

L'hôtel bénéficie d'un emplacement de choix, la vue sur Varese et son lac sont à couper le souffle. La cuisine proposée par le chef est recherchée et de très bonne facture. Les chambres, très spacieuses et bien équipées offrent un très bon confort.

• Henk (7/5): Mooie indruk, aar beetje tegenvallen, prima voor snelle korte stop - Het uitzicht was fantastisch, het balkon was fijn. De uitstraling van buiten is mooi. Ik verwachtte bijna een vaker parking. Maar helaas, dat was er niet. Snelle blik op de kamer gaf goede indruk. Het ontbijt was helemaal top, en de parkeerplek prima Het was uiteindelijk echt vervallen glorie. Mooi van ver maar vervallen van dichtbij. Oude spullen, een koelkastje dat uit elkaar viel. Stopcontacten van de oude stempel die bijna uit elkaar vielen, en waar de stekker van de aanwezige waterkoker niet in paste! Tot zover een handige waterkoker. Het balkon was super, maar de stoelen bleken van gietijzer en bijna niet te verplaatsen . Het behangetje was niet heel erg top, oud en saai

• Josep (9/5): - el lugar, entorno y lo familiar del hotel habíamos reservado dos habitaciones con vistas al sur (al lago de Varese), al final una no lo estaba, y la alternativa fue otra habitación pero muy pequeña, el problema es que el hotel sólo tiene 10 habitaciones. Es genial que el hotel tenga un restaurante de alta cocina, probamos el menú degustación de 6 platos y en general es bueno. El problema, es que si estás varios días, no vas a gastarte 80 € por persona en cada cena, a resultas prácticas es como si el hotel no tenga restauración en las noches, pues económicamente y nutricionalmente no te lo puedes permitir.
• Ralf (8/5): Ideal für Zwischenübernachtungen und Urlaub mit Sightseeingtour in der Region - Die Lage auf dem Sacro Monte ist schon etwas besonderes, genauso die Aussicht über Varese. Das Frühstück ausreichend und liebevoll vorbereitet und das Dinner bei Silvio Battistoni unvergesslich. Ein Ventilator wäre schön gewesen.
• Michael (8/5): - Das Hotel liegt sehr abgelegen, oberhalb der Stadt Varese. Daher hat man einen gigantischen Ausblick und kann morgens den Tag in herrlicher Ruhe seinen ersten Espresso genießen. Das Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich und hat uns bei Fragen immer sehr nett weitergeholfen. Wir würden definitiv wiederkommen.

• Philipp (7/5): - Das Frühstück war italienisch (spartanisch) im Umfang, aber ausreichend und lecker. Die Zimmer sind etwas aus der Zeit gefallen aber süß eingerichtet. Leider sehr hellhörig und an heißen Tagen auch sehr warm nachts. Der Parkplatz ist direkt am Hotel gut zu erreichen, wenn man sich die engen Straßen den Berg hochgekämpft hat.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Charming, well-kept hotel and breathtaking views - A beautiful gem of a hotel situated on Mt. Varese, quiet and with an impeccable view of the surroundings. A great destination for a little getaway. The building itself is old, but charming and well-kept. Our room extended across two floors, with the bedroom on the bottom and the bathroom (with a shower cell, toilet and bidet) upstairs. The bedroom led out on a large balcony, providing a remarkable view of the mountainside and the lake. The room was clean and tidy. We went in august and the weather was very hot, with temperatures staying high at night. The rooms have no air-conditioning, which might be an issue for some people. We had dinner at the restaurant twice and enjoyed it both times, with good food and very fresh ingredients - remarkably so, considering the rather remote location. My vegetarian partner was accomodated nicely, without prior notice from us, which is always appreciated. The staff was always attentive, calm and nice. We very much enjoyed our stay and will gladly return!

• Edy (6/5): - Super Lage und schönes altes Hotel! Zwei Personen des Personals waren äusserst unhöflich und frech! Branca, die Dame, die das Frühstück serviert ist super, freundlich und nett. Auch die ältere Dame des Hauses ist sehr nett. Kellner und Kellnerin furchtbar unhöflich. Wir haben dem Herr des Hauses, seiner Bitte nach, die ganze Speisekarte auf deutsch, korrigiert und angepasst und dafür bekamen wir nicht einmal ein herzliches Danke! Würde niemals mehr dorthin gehen!
