• Angelika (6/5): - The location was very convenient, a supermarket within walking distance, the beach was 5 minutes by foot and excursion booth by the supermarket. The owner does charge $10 Euros for air conditioning per day which was not clearly described when booked. The pool and outdoor area was super! There is no microwave or coffee maker in the apartment, in the bathroom there was just a small showering pan with a handheld sprayer (no curtain) and there was not always hot water. We really enjoyed our stay and this was a great value for the money if you don't mind going without some modern conveniences.

• kerryannm435 (10/5): Beautiful place I can’t wait to return - Cannot wait to return! Family run by the loveliest people, very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and had all we needed to enjoy our stay, we had a ground floor apartment which to the side had a beautiful garden to look to when out enjoying our morning coffee. The pool was larger than expected and got plenty of use from myself and my daughter. I arrived much later than planned (3am) and the host still took his time showing us around and making sure we had all needed for the night. The shops and restaurants are a very short walk away. It was just the peaceful break away needed and I plan to return very soon, this little place is a gem.

• Spyglass123 (2/5): A Terrible Place - Avoid at all cost! - Accommodation not fit for purpose in the 21st century. Don't be mislead by online old photos! No terraced cafe bar area exists! No good for people who want to self-cater. Basic accommodation we can live with, but was not clean on arrival. Dirty windows and floors under beds, cobwebs! Had to ask for broom to clean floor (no dustpan etc provided). Owners wife gave clean towels and sheets and replaced plastic rubbish bags but never cleaned the apartment once. Mismatched, absolute minimal cutlery and plates, one wine glass on arrival; no serrated bread knife, jug, sieve, mixing bowl, storage containers of any sort, no serving or wooden spoons, scratched milk pan couldn't use as suspected was old aluminium; unusable, filthy frying pan (insisted it was replaced much to the anger of the owner who told us initially to go to the supermarket and buy stuff to clean it ourselves). Ancient rusty-hinged fridge (ant-infested daily from gap at the back despite spray we had to buy); cupboard door hanging loose despite attempt to fix it. Old yellowing kettle; No microwave, no toaster just ancient hotplate - took 20 mins to heat up. No proper food prep area - unusable broken drop down table. No plugs in either the kitchen sink or the hand basin! Had to buy a plastic bowl in order to wash clothes and do the dishes.. it goes on. Oh and if you fancy a warm shower before 10am forget it. Very friendly hosts too, Kostas is always ready for a chat, and highly recommended. Exactly what simple Greek style apartments should be.
• steve_p53 (10/5): Excellent last-minute choice - I got a last minute cheap flight and chose to stay here, I wasn't really expecting too much but it was excellent. I was upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 balconies with lovely views to the mountains and sea. The owner, Costas, is very friendly and often gives you fruit etc., and is always ready for a chat. The apartments are spacious, clean, simple Greek style, maybe slightly dated but everything works OK. The bed was comfortable, and the only downside that I can see is that there is no air-con, which might be a problem particularly in July and August. There is a small pool with plenty of very comfortable loungers. I'd certainly return here, a real bargain for what I paid.

• 20catalinc (6/5): Basic, but very clean - It's clearly cheap, you won't get to much but enough if you are not too demanding. All basics provided: swimming pool, very clean rooms, towels, hot water, fridge. No TV, no A/C. Looks like spartan inspiration. On the other hand is Costas. He is the heart of this place. He will help you with everything you need to know to have a good time here. This place is close to all: beach, aquapark, bars, restaurants, supermarket, shops, etc. e
• Julietx5 (10/5): Wonderful stay - These were booked as a last minute holiday , the apartments were large very clean and well furnished . The hosts were very friendly too. Star beach is very close and the must is unbelievably loud , it does have a cut off time though so it's not all night . In our opinion star beach ruins the area however there is a lovely public beach a short walk away . The local tavernas are all very good Tarantella was excellent every meal . Tha walk up to the old town is definitely worth doing beautiful place traditionally Greek . Our apartment was cleaned every other day with clean towels and bed linen . Kostas and Georgia do everything to make you welcome they are a warm friendly and kind and extended this to our family . The holiday was quiet and there is a lovely little swimming pool and very comfy sun beds . Kostas we miss the fruit !! 😁 We will definitely come back here again .
• alan701 (8/5): Very relaxing - Great little find, Kostas and Georgia were superb hosts, brought us fruit everyday that Kostas grows onsite. Rooms cleaned every other day with fresh towels too, the grounds always clean and tidy. We had a problem with the hob so Kostas bought up to us a electric ring and even started cooking us our meal, he supplied us with some of his lovely olive oil. The only negative and not Georgia or Kostas fault was the music in the afternoon from Star beach the bass was too much and spoilt the tranquility. Will definitely return
• benbananas (10/5): Beautiful, Simple & Perfecty Located - Sirocco Apartments was lovely, the owners were very friendly and generous, always happy and kind. The owner, Costas, taught my 9-year-old daughter how to swim in 2 days! His wife, Georgia, brought freshly baked goods such as Madera Cake, Baklava and Greek scones every morning. It is perfectly located being close to the beach, shops, money transferrers, excursion centres and a traditional lovely Taverna (called Tarantella ). As well as the breathtaking view of the mountains, it is a quiet place with only 7 apartments so it isn't busy. The only fault was there were a few cracks in the sink but that was a minor detail I hardly noticed. I think it is perfect for families who would like a lovely place to stay with nice people on the beautiful island of Crete.
• Vacationer693129 (10/5): Excellent - We would not stay anywhere else in Greece. Sirocco is excellent as are Costas and Georgia, we have never been so welcome anywhere. They are amazing hosts and you could not want for more. Location is perfect, you are seconds from a supermarket, waterpark, shops, restaurants and the night life. It is quite, so well catered for if you are on your own, with a family or looking for a party. Restaurants near by are amazing, so much to do while being tucked away nice and quiet. The pool is amazing and suits every need, sun loungers are new and fabulous. Rooms are cleaned more than needed, snacks provided at the bar with all alcoholic drinks as well as soft drinks. Costas and Georgia are on site and there at your every need. Nothing is too much trouble and I have never felt more welcome, me and my family didn't want to come home. Amazing and we would recommend to anyone. Lovely place, excellent location for all, amazing time and amazing people. You are not just guests in rooms you are valued and so are they. Can't wait to go again.

• L2414VMgarym (8/5): A small delightful slice of old Cretan values - This hotel is ideal for people who like an easy-going holiday in a friendly traditional atmosphere. Everything was clean and towels and bedding changed every few days. If you like to explore the area on your own, then Kostas will help all he can. The hotel is well situated for the decent local bus service, taxis and a 20 minute stroll into the town. Beaches of all types within walking reach, or plenty others a short bus or taxi ride away. Plenty of tours to places like Spinalonga or Chrissi islands. Things to do for teens in the area include go-kart track and water park and lots of other things such as para-gliding. Views from the upper rooms of the mountains on one side and the sea on the other is a morning experience to be envied. The hotel is not suitable for small children as the pool goes up to 2.25 metres and you can dive into it. There are also old style crazy paved steps up to some of the rooms, so you would need to be mobile. The rooms are fairly basic but plenty of storage and easy to live in. Best enjoyed in early or late season when the teperatures are probably around 30 degrees. Give me this any day rather than mega-sunbed hotels where you are far removed from the real Crete experience.

Tips man kan beställa väldigt god autentisk grekisk mat från ägarinnan på hotellet som är väldigt trevlig. Helt enkelt värt pengarna man betalar, det var en jättebra vistelse.

Olisimme tarkistaneet millä bussilla pääsee Lentokentältä lomakohteeseen. Kentältä suora bussiyhteys lähelle hotellia. Bussipysäkki 24 ja hinta on 3 euroa. Jouduimme menemään taxilla 40 euroa. Hetellihuoneisiin mentiin ulkokautta rappuja pitkin kerroksiin. Missään kerroksessa ei palannut ulkovalot illalla. Vaarallista mennä kapeita portaita ylös ja etsiä pimeässä avaimenreikää.
• Verified traveler (10/5): der perfekte Urlaub - Ich habe mit 3 Freundinnen (22-24) meinen Urlaub auf Kreta verbracht und dabei in einem der Sirocco Apartments gewohnt. Das Apartment an sich war ausgestattet mit einem kleinen Badezimmer, 2 recht großen Schlafzimmern und dem Eingangsbereich mit einer kleinen Küchenzeile, mit 2 Herdplatten und einem Kühlschrank mit Tiefkühlfach. Für uns 4 hatte es die perfekte Größe. Die Handtücher wurden jeden 2. Tag gewechselt, wobei auch die Betten neu bezogen und das Apartment geputzt wurde. Zwar war die Küche scheinbar nur für 3 Bewohner ausgestattet aber unser 'Gastvater' hat uns jederzeit mit Utensilien ausgeholfen. Man fühlt sich einfach immer willkommen. Auch die Lage war für unseren Urlaub gerade richtig. Zu Fuß konnte man in 2 Minuten einen etwas kleineren und nach ca 4 Minuten einen relativ großen Supermarkt erreichen. Zum 'Star Beach' gelangt man zu Fuß innerhalb von ca 7 Minuten und ins Stadtinnere mit Bars ca 10 Minuten. Falls man feiern will und keine Lust hat zu laufen kann man für 7 € ein Taxi nehmen und wird direkt zur 'Partymeile' gefahren. Meine Freundinnen und ich würden jederzeit wieder unseren Urlaub dort verbringen. Es ist wirklich nur zu empfehlen.
• An2ninaF (6/5): Not bad if you want to save your money - We have leaved in this hotel in September 2013. Not bad hotel, the owner - Costas very polite and friendly. We have had one big apartment on the 2-nd floor with 2 balconies. But furniture is too old, a bathroom is very small and we hadn't warm water in the evenings... We paid 10 euros for a safe and 20 euros for a late check-out... finally it costed 165 euros for 9 days, 2 persons. I liked that family, but I will never return... I prefer more comfortable hotels.
• avrilh2013 (8/5): "Would return in a heart beat" - Me and a group of six girls from Ireland stayed at the Sirocco Apartments for two weeks.It is a 10 minute walk to the famous "Star Beach". It is run by the loveliest caring family. Costas the owner and our "Dad" for the two weeks was there 24/7 making sure our stay was the best it could be. Our apartments were spotless. Basic layout (That is what you must expect for a budget accommodation) The pool was also kept really well. You can get food by the (small,bar pool) Toasties,Chips,Pizza.And Lots of Drinks (get mike the bar man to make you a cocktail......yum) Having the bar is really handy when you are hungover and just want to laze by the pool all day. It also is a 10 min taxi ride to the strip at night. We ended up paying only 2euro a night each for a taxi. The apartments are a few feet from the pool which was so handy. The accommodation is also in a safe, quiet area so if you want to escape the noise from hersonissos strip its perfect while still being close. There is a small shop 3 mins walk from sirocco and a large supermarket 7 mins walk. With a few nice restaurants beside it which have the traditional plate smashing nights, (Yamas is a good one,or Nikos family restaurant, Or Red and White ) I would defiantly recommend renting a quad bike (There are loads of rental shops by Sirocco) and visting , Koutouloufari,piskopiano and Malia they are very close and easy to find.
• Mvcha (10/5): Wouldn't stay anywhere else - Not too sure what the other reviews are about, at the end of the day this is a budget hotel and you shouldn't be expecting a 5* hotel. But in all honesty I don't think I would've stayed anywhere else. Yes, the toilets are quite hard to flush but like the rest of Greece is, Costas is such a lovely man and so welcoming I would definitely recommend to stay here especially due to it's close proximity to the world famous star beach and hersonissos nightlife.
• Zjajitae (6/5): Exceeding expectations - Having read the reviews for the apartments, expectations were low for both standard of the rooms and the hospitality shown to guests. I would like to say that Kostas and his family were incredibly friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Changing our apartments to suit our needs after midnight 2 nights in a row was not a problem; from 3 apartments to 2 and then moving one apartment to another to have the 2 closer. Every opportunity for a friendly chat was taken, and not once was a rude word spoken. The rooms were fairly nice, but the shower was move of a handheld hose and a tray. There was good food available at reasonable prices from the bar as well, which saved some washing up in our small kitchenette. We'd read in reviews of no towels changes, this was not the case for us as although we only had one in the week's stay, each of us was given 3 or 4 towels to last us. Located a very short walk from the supermarket 'Manos', down the road from Star Beach water park, a pleasant 20 minute walk from the main restaurants of Hersonissos port and a 15 euro taxi journey from Malia, the location of this establishment was almost ideal. This hotel went beyond what we were expecting, and we would consider returning if visiting the area again.
• mrsj122 (8/5): Would definately return - The sirocco is in a great location, just a short walk from the main town and beaches but just enough out of the way for the peace and quite should you require, to either relax by the well maintained pool or have a little siesta. The owners were lovely and made me feel completely welcomed, nothing was too much trouble. I would definately return.
• Qasm (8/5): Like staying with the family - First of all the resort is predominantly populated by young Dutch party goers and our week at sirocco had a good cross section of this population, though drunk most of the time they were great fun if not noisy but we learnt after the 2012 season the owner Costas was switching to families only. Talking of Costas, he met me and my mate at his bar and could t have been more welcoming, in fact he gave us a beer on the house, and not the only one during our stay. His family continued all week to make us feel so welcome and constantly joined us to chat and find out what we'd done each day, we became good friends with them all by the end of the week and they saw us off at the end as if we were part of the family. The rooms: clean? Yes. Hot water.? Random, as most of Greek budget stays. Sheet changes? No. Towels? One change. Rooms cleaned? Once in the week but no problem. Pool? Adequate and spotless. Bar? Excellent. The family? Awesome. The resort? Young and non threatening unlike Malia next door. Would we return? If only to meet up with Costas and family!!!
• Prendies (6/5): RUDE OWNER! - Nice, clean apartments in a great central location. Lots of nice beaches nearby and a short distance from the main town centres and fishing harbours. The owner of these apartments is a very rude, short tempered man by the name of Costas. Fortunately, we didn't have much business with him after check-in, as we we're out most of the day. Check-out was supposed to be at 3pm, so we went into the town on our last day to do some last minute shopping. On returning to our apartment at midday, we found that costa's had taken all of our belongings out of the apartment (including our clothes) and dumped them in a pile near the pool!! Would've been a perfect trip if the owner was a little friendlier!!
