Hafeez (9/5): fantastic vacation. Great beach, snorkeling, staff and food. - The staff are friendly. DONU resturant was amazing - chef Sulu, chef Paul and the whole team were amazing. The beach and snorkelling were fantastic! Volleyball court outside the resturant is rarely used and has these bright lights at night.

Everyday there are a range of different activities (some free and others not). Snorkelling is magical here, you see so much! Could not recommend this place enough!!

So was brauche ich nicht wieder und schon gar nicht für dieses Geld. Gefühltes Backpackerniveau. Auch die Inselanlage war nicht die Schönste auf den Yasawas. Wirklich schade. Für uns ein definitives nie wieder und wir hatten viel Schönes auf den Fijis gesehen. Für Backpacker gab es diverse Roomvarianten - die waren vermutlich nicht schlecht.

Carly (10/5): Beach paradise, 5 star food, cultural experience. - I hope this review helps someone make a decision. Incredible location easy to access via fast resort boat which takes 1.5-2hrs. Drinks and snacks at the dock waiting for the boat. Beach front rooms are best if you can afford as these have direct access to the beach, stunning beach front vibes, outdoor bathroom was a treat. Garden rooms are also beautiful and private, beach access a short walk up the path to the main bar area and beachfront. Perfect location for adults and children alike. Small concrete paths suitable for prams. Highchairs, kids menu, cot, playground, kids club, experienced nanny’s from the village and beautiful staff made us and our 1.5 year old feel very welcome. The top two highlights of our stay was the incredible 5 star food for every meal. 5 nights felt like the perfect minimum to relax and experience both the main restaurant 4 course menu and the fabulous Japanese restaurant. Barista coffee and exquisitely prepared meals included in the full board package. Budget extra for drinks at reasonable prices. Kids fit in perfectly in the restaurant but due to the exquisitely prepared 3+ course meals, suggest booking a nanny for dinner time to further relax for your meal if you have kids. Second highlight and the reason I booked here was access to the village over the hill. This made for a genuine cultural experience of Fiji. It was fantastic to travel twice to the village once for a walk around, visit to the kindy school and meeting the village families and small craft market and once to attend the church service. The village people seem genuinely happy to waive hello and the kids will run up for a high five and play. My little toddler had a blast chasing the village kids around with a ball and playing stick swords barefoot among the families, houses, roosters and dogs.

Alexandra (9/5): - Beautiful beachfront property with great snorkelling and an incredible new Japanese restaurant. Don’t both going diving here - just snorkel - the reef is so much better at the snorkeling spots! Disliked the food and tiny, basic portions at the non Japanese restaurant - we left hungry… despite paying a hefty price for a meal plan. However we ended up going to the Japanese restaurant every meal which saves this place in terms of food. Don’t bother going diving - the reef was completely destroyed and the fish were above us. Not worth it at all!

Lesley (10/5): This is true paradise for anyone seeking a complete break away from the stresses of day-to-day life - Octopus resort is a true gem of a find, and our family group of 7 people from Canada stayed for 8 nights at this true paradise resort. Firstly, the indigenous Fijian people working in the resort mostly come from a very small village 10 minutes walk away. These are the warmest, friendliest, kindest and most humbled people we have ever met. Their grace and courtesy went far beyond our expectations from the moment you get greeted with a big and embracing "bula" upon arrival. We stayed in 3 bures and one dorm bed, all of which were very comfortable and clean. The bed is super comfy. It is fun showering outside under the sun, rain or stars and amongst tropical plants. Access to the bures is along a garden path that is adorned with tropical plants and trees. Access to the common areas like dining room, bars and swimming pool is super easy. We mostly walked barefoot everywhere, so we got a great grounding going on too! Octopus has it's own spectacular house reef. I have swum in many reefs, including in the Red Sea along the Sinai peninsula, Hawaii and Mexico, and this reef is by far the best I have seen in the last 30 years of snorkeling. The corals are magnificent, and the abundance of fish reminds me of the Red Sea from 40 years ago (dating myself!). We went on a couple of excursions, one of which was to swim with the reef sharks. That is a must trip for anyone who appreciates this type of natural exposure. Otherwise, I was truly satisfied snorkeling off the beach, and each time I did I discovered something new to excite me. The food plan offers reasonably good food, and it is clear that the kitchen staff is trying to satisfy the culinary diverse likes of people from different places. We did not expect this level of care and investment in trying to make such a varied and tasty menu from which to select food from every meal. Not enough fresh fruits and vegetables. The variety is not great, but that is to be expected. We did learn to ask for extra salads and fruits after a couple of days.

David (10/5): Great island resort experience! - I thoroughly enjoyed the Octopus Resort. Everyone was welcoming and accommodating. The dining portion could use a better explanation upfront but the food was delicious. The staff did everything possible to repeal insects from the dining and beverage areas. I loved the design of the property. It made it feel authentic and intimate. The beach and snorkeling was perfect. Following the reaf felt safe and there was no shortage of views. My bed was only turned down on the first night. It’s not something I need but the expectation was set on day one that’s what would happen. A better explantation of the dining process, beverage inclusions and not, snack menu with pricing. On my third morning having breakfast the team member explained there was a buffet that was included. A standing fan would have helped circulate the aircon better. You could only feel the aircon when you stood directly in front of the flow.

The food was really good with lots of options to cater for all dietary preferences. Stolle (10/5): Paradiesisches Resort zum Entspannen - Es war ein rundum wundervoller Aufenthalt! Wir haben zwei Tage im Resort verbracht und sind bereits toll empfangen worden. Die Bure war wirklich schön und etwas rustikaler eingerichtet. Der reine Sandstrand und das bunte und tierreiche Riff war einfach atemberaubend! Zudem sind die Mitarbeiter unfassbar freundlich und zuvorkommend. Der Service war 1a und auch das Essen war sehr lecker. -

It was my first time in the Yasawa islands and I can’t wait to go back! The mountain hike was sooo challenging and exhilarating all at the same time!! Jane (9/5): A heavenly place on earth - I'm a repeat visitor to Octopus and absolutely adore the beauty of the island and the fantastic staff. I felt extremely looked after - which was needed after a big week of work in Nadi. I've given my feedback directly to the resort. It's hard to fault the place so I choose not to write here.
Meitar (10/5): Paradise on earth - This Resort is a most go to in Fiji. I think it is perfect on all aspects: the delicious food, the kind and welcoming staff, variety of activities, beautiful beaches and snorkeling, delicious cocktails - everything in this place makes you feel like you are in true paradise. Our room was very clean and comfortable, everybody in the staff did everything they can to make our stay the best possible. The food was truly beyond our expectations, I felt like I was eating in a high end restaurant. If you are visiting Fiji, do yourself a favor and book Octupos resort! Having to leave

Steven (10/5): Incredible location, wonderful staff, we will be going back - The staff were amazing, we needed to bring the booking forward by a day, the flexibility and customer service meant all our requests were accommodated beyond our expectations and ensured we could travel home. The food was exceptional and the wonderful staff ensured we had an incredible stay in paradise. That the reef is pristine, please keep protecting and nurturing. Very minor comment, a small dustpan and brush would have been useful to help keep the floors clean. And most of all we really didn't like leaving!

Julia (7/5): Zufrieden - Ein gutes Resort mit schöne Strand und Pool. Das Essen war sehr gut und mehr als ausreichend. Die Essenpauschale ist nicht gerade günstig, aber man erhält wirklich sehr gute Speisen und sehr große Portionen. Es gibt mehr als ausreichend Liegen am Strand und ein paar gemütliche Sonneninseln am Pool. Die Zimmerreinigung war sehr gründlich, es wurde jeden Tag das Bett in den Dorms gemacht. Die Sanitäranlagen waren auch sehr sauber. Man bekommt auch ein Handtuch für den Strand und eines zum duschen. Die Hosteldorms sind nicht schön, aber sauber. Auch gibt es keine Steckdosen bei den oberen Betten. Die Betten oben sind sehr knapp zur Decke, man muss aufpassen beim aufsitzen. Verstaumöglichkeiten gibt es wenig, nur eine Holzkiste unter dem Bett
Molly (10/5): - Incredible resort, we arrived just after the cyclone passing at the start of March with the weather being a slight issue to getting to the island the resort team made there best efforts and got us to the island. Once we were there it was beautiful, amazing snorkelling just off the beach along with loads of activities to choose from. The room was immaculate and the food was great with loads of options!

Especially dinner was the best I had in Fiji The music at the coconut bar often was way too loud and also not chilled enough for the location

Johanna (10/5): Traumhaft - Im Vergleich zu anderen Resorts gibt es hier den ganzen Tag über viele kostenlose oder günstige Activities für diejenigen, die nicht nur am Strand liegen möchten. Das Personal ist super freundlich, zuvorkommend und sehr bemüht den Aufenthalt so gut wie möglich zu gestalten. Das Hausriff ist wunderschön zum Schnorcheln mit traumhaft klarem Wasser und ist nur 10 m vom Strand entfernt. Wir waren uns Anfangs nicht sicher ob sich der hohe Preis für die verpflichtende Verpflegungspauschale lohnt, aber es lohnt sich zu 100% (auch verglichen mit anderen Unterkünften in den Yasawas) und wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, sollten wir nochmal nach Fidschi kommen.

Florin (9/5): A piece of heaven - The location is absolutely stunning and the view is from another world. Although is quite remote, you have everything you need for a relaxing holiday. I was expecting a greater variety for the breakfast, but given the fact that it is very remote, the access to resources can be limited.

Andrew (10/5): Four days in Paradise - Beautiful setting, lovely staff, and excellent food. The walk to the village was a highlight as was the Meke night. The entertainment was wonderful and the 8 course meal was incredible. We recommend the resort boat transport. Loved everything.
Bethany (10/5): Gorgeous resort! Loved our stay here and would highly recommend. - We loved our stay at Octopus Resort!! It is located in front of a stunning reef with crystal clear waters. You can rent free snorkelling equipment for the day which we loved! The staff are amazing, they’re super friendly and very attentive! The pool was always clean as well as the amenities. We loved everything about the resort! The only thing we didn’t enjoy was as part of our meal plan, on Friday nights they do a Fijian styled meal and due to us being fussy eaters and not fish lovers, we didn’t enjoy this meal although other guests did!
Saskia (10/5): - Das Octopus Resort ist absolut zu empfehlen. Die Anreise per Boot hat problemlos funktioniert und wurde bereits vom Resort organisiert. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Anlage ist familiär und liebevoll gepflegt. Besonders schön ist das Hausriff direkt am Resort wo man wunderbar schnorcheln kann. Auch Tauchgänge werden von einer Tauchschule angeboten.

Benjamin (10/5): Hoping to return - The snorkelling straight of the beach was incredible. Great food. Comfy bed. Very clean. Easy to get to. Super relaxing stay. Easy to borrow snorkelling equipment. Most of the staff were awesome, some were particularly great and went the extra mile such as remembering names. One staff member a bit grumpy at the equipment hire shed but nothing that caused a problem.

Pierre (10/5): A trip to paradise - This hotel made our trip to Fiji absolutely memorable. The location is amazing with snorkelling spots in front of the hotel where you can see sharks and rays (when the tide is low be careful with the corals, it can be dangerous with the courant and the waves). The food was very good and various, especially the dinner. I appreciated the 9 course Fijian dinner every Friday. Remember to book a table for dinner otherwise you might not be in the balcony. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Especially when we played beach volleyball with them, such a beautiful atmosphere to share this moment with them, just after their shift at work, they stayed to have fun. We were also upgraded rooms for a special occasion. We really appreciated it. I recommend the Bure with the outdoor shower. I also did the fishing excursion and the kitchen offered to cook my fish without additional cost. Also when the weather wasn't great the hotel organised some activities to keep us busy. We booked for 7 nights, I was scared i'd be bored but I wasn't at all. I recommend the trip to the village (for free), where you can go to the church or discover the history and the culture of these people, you also understand why the hotel is so important for their community, it made me happy to spend my money here. For the transfer the hotel organised everything, to the pickup from my hotel in Nadi to the ferry. Same on the way back. So to conclude I definitely recommend to stay at this hotel, people are beautiful, kind and really want us to spend the best holidays. I will definitely come back ! We had to go back to real life

Sivan (6/5): - We stayed for one night in order to join the shark-snorkeling excursion. The staff was kind and pleasant, though not highly professional. During our entire stay, major renovations were taking place in the main building—including hours of loud drilling—which was not mentioned on the booking website or at check-in. Additionally, the fine print (which we unfortunately missed) stated that guests are required to purchase a full-board package at an excessive cost of $189 per person. Overall, not the experience we expected.

Mike (10/5): Perfect experience for a couple. We'll be back. - Absolutely flawless. The staff are on a level of kindness that you don't experience very often. Every single meal we had was perfection. The room and facilities were in a constant state of clean and the bed was very comfortable. The snorkeling was epic straight off the beach. The resort managers were actively getting amongst the guests doing their hardest to ensure everyone has the best experience, it was an impressive sight. Thank you! All the snorkeling trips were cancelled during our stay, but that was due to the wind and was out of the resort's control.

helen (10/5): - Idyllic tropical island, traditional Fijian bures, excellent food and drinks. Warm waters, coral and fish just off the sand snorkelling and scuba etc or lazing on the beach. Friendly, smiling Fijians always smiling and helpful. What more do I need to unwind and reboot? Leaving the island after only 5 days

sunny (7/5): - We loved the Bure (the room) we stayed in- air con and outside toilet/shower with not too many bugs around it was roomy and also very cosy and romantic when it was raining and thunder storming outside The food was okay, I would have preferred eating food from Fiji and traditional kind of meals a lot of the food served although was good it was dressed up To be fancy and fine dining which I don’t really care for - I’m not there for fine dining I’m there for hearty/healthy meals (I guess this is a personal preference) If we sign ourselves up for activities and it was during meal time you’d just miss out even though we paid 150$ aud a day each for food ?? we wouldn’t even spend that much on food in Australia in on holiday - 150$ a day is a lot of money- we were both really surprised that wouldn’t be added into the accomodation cost not an added cost after we have already paid the accommodation. We felt like we were annoying/a burden on most of the staff when we asked for things But it got better with time … Also alot of the activities were cancelled at the time of The activities which was a bit annoying but I guess that’s just island time so I wouldn’t hold that against the staff /resort. we were told we couldn’t snorkel and borrow equipment but then saw others snorkeling??

Adnan (9/5): Excellent resort, Definitely worth a visit. - Staff were amazing and made us feel welcome. Food was great : For breakfast, you could order 1 ala carte dish + anything from the buffet. Lunch was ala carte off a menu ( some items changed everyday ) and dinner was a 3 course ala carte meal. Snorkeling off the beach was great too. Spacious room a few feet away from the water Lots of activities if you wanted to keep busy. They also had a seafood special which we wish we have taken advantage of consisting of lobster + prawns etc. for a very good price. Dive shop staff didn't seem overly interested and lacked the upbeat vide of the other resort staff. They also didn't have much stock of coconuts which was a shame. If they did, it was at room temp.

Ryan (8/5): Paradise at your doorstep. - Overall great experience. Staff were friendly and accomodating at all times. Breaky and lunch was good. Location was breathtaking on arrival. Beach had plenty of space and free sun beds. Pool option good for families. Dinner options could be improved compared to breakfast and lunch, which were awesome. Pool needed better maintenance. Got charged for a full day of eating (breakfast lunch dinner). But on arrival day we only got dinner as arrived at 6pm and on departure again charged for full day but only breakfast as left at 11am. Could have this been merged into one charge?
