• Ellen (7/5): - Beautiful two-story room and very clean. We had a king size suite with kitchen, living room, futon and king size bed. Breakfast was good and snacks and drinks in late afternoon. The window in the bedroom needs to be weather stripped because cold air was coming in and even with the heat on it was cold in the room. Water pressure wasn't great. Because of the windows you could hear the traffic passing by and it was kind of noisy, it felt like the windows were open.

The inn is right on top of the road so traffic at night is buzzing thru all night for our room which was on the front 1st floor. They provide ear plugs on the night stand. Coffee, soda, water, cookies and chips were available to help yourself. Breakfast coupons were provided for the bakery cafe a few doors down, good for up to $24.

• Maria (2/5): Very disappointed. - Not much The online description of the hotel, rooms and amenities were very misleading. Our room was dark, with worn carpets and creaky floors. It faced the street, with noisy traffic all night. The advertised “excellent breakfast “ was non existent. We were given a voucher and told to walk to the bake shop (in freezing rain) to where we could order a cafeteria style breakfast or a donut and coffee. We were told the there were not enough guests to justify offering the sit down meal that we were expecting. There were frequently times when there was no staff present on the premises, so if we had had a problem, there was no one there to help.

• fshelt610596 (10/5): Fantastic! - We love Lancaster, PA and Amish Country. I wanted to do something special for my wife's birthday and I am so glad we found Bird-in-Hand Village Inn and Suites. After reviewing more online I made a reservation. The pics don't do the property justice and we were blown away by our room. It has that colonial charm with wood floors, crown molding and the suite was an extra bonus for our teenager traveling with us. The bathroom was clean, the shower hot and the hot tub was a nice surprise. We also took a tour of Amish farms nearby and loved it immensely. The Fall foliage was fantastic, the breakfast in the morning was delicious and the staff were first rate. Look forward to returning
• pup83slg (10/5): Homestyle Stay - This is a lovely option to traditional hotel. Located on Old Philly Pike it’s convenient, walkable to many shops, a lovely market and smorgasbord. The included delux continental breakfast was so good, fresh & hot with many options. Be aware you can use the multiple pools and other amenities at their sister properties a very short walk away.

• GERALD (9/5): A pleasant stay in Lancaster County, complete with great food, comfortable lodging & great shopping. - The location was perfect for our trip to Lancaster County. The breakfast and service were excellent. When we mistakenly left a clothing item in our room, we were called within an hour of checking out, and as we were still in the area, able to pick the item up.

We were totally pleased both times with the comfort, cleanliness, and furnishings of our room and the professional, caring service by the staff. Also the food at their cafe and buffet restaurant. we loved the front room because we are sound sleepers. Light sleepers might not appreciate the number of loud trucks going through at night but they do provide both earplugs and eye masks. We'll be back again.

• janreeves1 (10/5): Best Inn in Lancaster County - We came to this Inn bc our truck was in the shop and could not tow our camper to our favorite campground Country Acres. This was the best decision ever. We loved the Village Inn! We will be back in the winter when it’s too cold to camp!

The checking in process was a little confusing but we got a phone call from Benny at the front desk while enroute and told us to check in at the family inn and not at the village inn. Got everything taken care and the only challenge we had was carrying our luggage up to the 3rd floor as there is no elevator as the original building was built in 1850. Breakfast was either across the street or a 20.00 voucher to use at the bakery. With our 3 days, we had a combination of both. The room is gorgeous and housekeeping service is provided every day. Water bottles are provided. Joy, who monitors the desk during the day is wonderful. Snacks and cookies are provided as well as more water bottles and sodas as well as coffee and tea anytime. The is a two hour farm tour that is complimentary for people who stay at the property. It is offered in the morning at 845am or 11am. Dan the driver of the bus was a great guide. The smorgasbord restaurant across the street is fantastic. We would definitely recommend and would stay here again when we return to the area.

The only thing that was a problem was the bed (rm 105). The owners agreed they would replace it with a new mattress and level the bed so that one doesn't roll out of it at night ( this is an old, quaint building)

The place also is near all the attractions. The price of restaurants is very affordable and taste is great what we tried. I think for the place that is the stay was great since we already know that is a small place . Lancaster was not far just 15 min by car and that is a bigger place. all food was organic and people were very nice and kind.

I have stayed here many times and will return when I have business in Bird n Hand area. Great facility and I would recommend to anyone especially couples looking for peaceful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Great escape facility. They didn't restock coffee/tea bar after first night offered in lobby/porch area.

I must warn future guests about the noise from the adjacent road, which is very close to the front of the inn. Also, we needed to cross the street to get to the dining room for breakfast and I did not feel safe crossing this busy road. There should be a stop light and cross walk in this area.

The things we like the most are the location of the property (next to the Amish villages, the beautiful countryside), the number of pools, the fish lake, and the mini golf field. In addition to these, we were touched by the warm and human reception we received from the property's personnel. Moreover, the hotel provided a bus tour in the vicinities of Lancaster with stops at numerous locations where one could buy souvenir items, food, and learn more about Lancaster through the beautiful verbal presentation of the bus driver during the tour. We will only stay at this place for our upcoming trips to Sights & Sound.

John Smucker was instrumental in ensuring we had a room for an extended stay so we could get our car towed and obtain a rental car on Monday. The amenities made us feel like we were home! Breakfast was delicous! Just a quick tip - if you have difficulty with steps, make sure your room is on the lower floor and that there are no steps in your room. Our room was on the second floor and the bathroom had two steps down. I have some trouble with steps, but I was able to handle this with minimal problems. Otherwise, there is nothing I can say bad about our stay! We've already booked our trip for next year and are looking forward to staying at BIrd-in-Hand Village & Suites again!

The breakfast provided offers a good selection of foods, and the hotel staff is attentive and quick to respond to any requests.
