- Linda (10/5): - My sister and I stayed for 2 nights at Argyle House.The room was immaculate and i was very impressed with decor and little extra touches.Plenty of tea and coffee and toiletries,iron hairdryer and a tv with apps.Our room was at top of house with quite a few stairs to climb which didnt bother us but elderly might struggle with this.The town centre was uphill but only a short walk from train station.Overall we had a pleasant stay and would definitely recommend

- Christine (10/5): Argyle House, Whitby - Excellent in every way - We were very pleased with every aspect of our stay in Whitby. The accommodation was excellent in every way and would gladly recommend it.
- Jacqueline (6/5): Lots to improve - The room was fine, clean and the bed comfortable. The toilet which operated on a sani flow system was very noisy and so was not good to use during the night. In addition it stopped flushing on our penultimate day. Luckily I spotted the cleaner on our way out and was able to report it and it was fixed that day. This was the only time I saw anyone attatched to the hotel. None of the suggested means of contact produced contact. We were not able to access the free netflix and on the final evening lost all tv.Finally, I accept the room was advertised as an attic room, however, it would have been good to have been made aware of the 48 steps to get to it.( my attic room has half that number) I am 78, fit and active but I certainty didn't appreciate the climb to my room after a lovely day in beautiful but very hilly Whitby.

- David (10/5): Argyle Hotel - A great location just outside the town, The host's are brilliant with great communication, The Hotel is, quiet and very Good, Tea/coffee facilities in my room was lovely and my double bed was divine. I had the attic room but it didnt feel like a attic room.

- Sarah (10/5): Great service and break for us 2 - This hotel is fabulous ,gorgeous,clean rooms ,it was a weekend for us as a couple so not sure what would be available for children ,but from what we saw and needed they were great!! Such helpful staff giving us details of our parking the evening before ,which then ment as we got there earlier we were able to use the pass once we got parked up .I would highly recommend here ,we for sure would visit again for our Whitby stay

- Lisa (10/5): Lovely Stay - Our attic room was cute and comfortable and very clean, with a view of the abbey. Tea/coffee/milk were unlimited in supply; check-in was seamless and the guest house is very well located. The only problem was parking: we did find a space but it was a bit of a walk, not really a problem for us and perhaps to be expected as we arrived quite late in the day on a bank holiday weekend. We would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.
- Janet (10/5): Nice stay - Lovely spacious room. Truthfully I wouldn’t stay again as struggled with three flights stairs as we were at the top but would if in the lower floors. Plenty tea coffee, toiletries in bathroom, tea towel to wash cups, hairdryer to use, iron towel n one of the floors to use. Netflix on tv to use.
- ROD (8/5): Whitby 2025 - Great value for money. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting close to town centre bars ,restaurants and cafes.

Great location but not good for disbled or infirm people due to the amount of stairs in the property, especially to access the attic room. Room was very well equiped with all amenities plus extras, i.e., hair straighteners, umbrellas and ironing board and iron.

Bill did say the room would be redecorated shortly which it needed. Curtains and roof window blind also need replacing as not fitted properly. Though room was warm with hot water and clean towels and bedding. Breakfast was delicious. Excellent service from Bill who was knowledgeable of the area and very hospitable. Overall enjoyed our stay.

- Mark (10/5): - Bill couldn’t do enough for you. We had a 2 night stay 6th and 7th September. As always with whitby, the weather was unpredictable. Of cause we made the most of it but the time spent at Argyle was spotless, comfy and cozy. We had the the family room which was brilliant far better than just a bed in our room. We have a 13 year old daughter and we had a room next to a room but they were together which was connected together with a bolted door leading out to the landing. We could keep our doors open but keep the out door bolted at night. Brilliant idea if your child wants a little bit of privacy. The breakfasts were delicious and lots of choice. Will definitely be staying here again that’s for sure 👍 😊

The location was ideal for us and a 10 minute walk to the harbour, of note there is a hill to climb for those not able to get around as well. Would definitely stay again.

- Alan (10/5): Quirky but good - No complaints about this venue at all. Once you get used to the slightly quirky nature of some of the fittings, such as a bat hanging from a light and red bed linen with black bed bedstead, it was what you would expect from a guest house. Breakfasts were great. As a bonus, you are provided with a parking permit free of charge (the hotel we stayed in in Scarborough charged £5 per night for this). Overall, this is an excellent place to stay.

- Christopher (10/5): Strongly recommended - This B and B is well located a short walk uphill from Whitby Harbour, in a street full of similar establishments. We were lucky to find parking nearby (a parking voucher is provided) but others may spend some time looking for a space. We self checked in with easy instructions provided on arrival and were very happy with the room, which was very clean. Breakfast, with a large range of choices, was excellent. We would strongly recommend Argyle House.
- Tatiana (10/5): Great stay - We had a very nice stay: the room was comfortable, warm, clean and as described. The service was immaculate and the staff helpful and friendly. Very child friendly too. Location was excellent too, as we could walk anywhere, but were still on a quiet street We loved it!

Bill a very obliging host - room cosy with comfortable bed and nice shower room. Great choice for breakfast and plenty of extras in the hallway for the hospitality tray in the room x will definitely return x

- Kirsten (8/5): Very friendly - Took my mum here for the weekend. Staff were so helpful and friendly, sorting out parking and wheelchair friendly routes into town for us. The parking on a Saturday was very tricky; no room near the b&b but leisure centre round the corner had spaces (£7 for 7 hours) Property has a lot of steep stairs, which were not ideal for an 88 year old, but we managed and had a really lovely visit. Thanks Bill and staff.
